Help for search and Skype hack needed

HOWDY,
Tried to do search!
But the search dropdown dropped behind the big ad logo and couldn't type anything to search anything?
Got a 8125
Need SKYPE to work without crashing the device!
Tried almost every app on Skypes site and none work!
I know that stinking Cingular is most of the problem, then the S-L-O-W
processor is the rest of the problems!
Any hacks or links to how to overclock without bricking this stupid thing?
I should have stayed with dah X50 dell least I could use Skype and e-sword which neither work on this high dollar low satisfaction device!
I'm sure someone likes it BUT, I don't see why?
Thank you very much for this site, and for any links and help, like having the search dropdone OUTside the ad logo at the top of the page!

went to the control panel and got to do a search for my problem and found that I have to overclock to 240 to get Skype to work!
So now if you could delete this request for help as I don't want to cludder up this forum and couldn't delete the post myself!
Yep Nomad your right should of and could of but didn't OPPS
Now i spent 4hour trying to learn hacking splicing dicing and still have a slow Stinklur
The thing keep deleting the programs on the 2GB SD card for the third time, in two weeks, and all the WORD docs that I loaded and the 1GB of songs that took 1 hours to load so this has to be more fun that I can stand!

Hey guys.. i just purchase my att tilt a few days and the rep. gave me this web side to do some mod.. have you guys ran into any trouble like its lagging or anything...?? like wen i slide the keyboard it takes like 5 secs to flip the screen... and some of the apps take awhile to.. could the phone be a defect..
i see how you guys chance the icons and screen or backround et.... How and what do i need to be able to do that.... this is all new to be and i dont wanna mess up this phone...
Thanks for help GUys...
Also how do i do a HARD RESET.... need to free up some of the memory off the phone..
?
Well if you want some extra memory look on some of these post for roms pertaining to the tilt. I just got my tilt like 3 days ago and later that day I got a rom and pushed my memory with 140. So it just gave me 40 more and not all that bull crap they put on there for you. The myspace thing was cool but the rest bull. For some reason the tilt does do the lag thing alot. But since I switch the new rom I get sometime a lag but not much at all. Every once in awhile. Its cool because I have my tilt half windows and half cube and half Iphone. I love this phone. There is a program called wisbar and it lets you make your own pages for shortcuts or whatever you want. I love it. You got to buy it though but it lets you do what you want to.
My first suggestion for both of you is to RTFM cover to cover. All of your basic questions will be answered and you will be much more comfortable with your phone. After that, search here first. Chances are your questions have already been answered. If you can't find it after searching (use Google. it works better than the forum search) then post up.

Welcome to the Kraiser...

Hey everyone.
Just got my Kraiser and its exactly what i wanted. But i've come to pimp ma' kraiser up wit sum of dem phat rom-olas.
Now i've jumped in with the kraiser having a fair few fixes and tweaks. So im totally lost with where you guys are up to hahaha.
All i need to know is. What is the best set of roms/radios/tweaks that i should be loading my Kraiser up with. I was reading a bit and noticed things like the graphic driver campaign and little other bugs and glitches. Can anyone tell me if these were fixed?
Well to sum it up i need to know:
1. What is the best rom/radio/software/tweaks/etc.. the majority of you'se suggest?
2. Where in the development of the graphics fixes are you'se up to?
3. Anything else i should know about my little Kraiser?
Thanks for any help. It would just take too much time to read through all these threads. It's like a messy desk. The person who owns the desk knows where everything is. But no one else.
P.S. I'll start getting on my little development boots for the kraiser.
First there is no "R" in Kaiser.
As for the rest of it you'll find with a little reading.

REQUEST for ROM WIKI page listing details

I am requesting that the powers that be create a ROM Wiki Page where cooks can enter the vital stats of their roms in a table/spreadsheet format so that innocent rom flashers such as myself can do direct comparisons between roms with out having to wade through hundreds of pages posts etc.
And I also request that chefs use this page and follow the table structure. And that you update your rom on the wiki page when a new version comes out.
Please!
This part may be too ambitious, but I would also like to see on the table a column for user score. Could be a simple 5 star system. Each rom there could have a link to a brief review containing questions about usability, stability, battery life etc.. Graded on a 5 star scale. All the answers would be averaged together and would be reflected on the above mentioned table as a simple score

To me the thing about that is a ROM can run totally different on each device and the Roms are changing every day so i think it would be to hard to keep up with it all and i do not think a chef would like his or her ROM being put next to another ROM so see if the ROM is doing good or bad i know thats what it wont be for but that will happen and it takes me 5 Min's a day to scan through the Roms and see how they are doing i doubt if any chefs would agree to it and it takes all there time to do i new rom so they dont need any extra work in double posting it just my 2pence worh
I hear your concerns. Perhaps just scrap the idea about the rating system.
But if the chef put the basic info for his rom up we could see and compare to determine what roms we may want to use. Like What build they use, whether they used manila 2.1 or 2.5. What programs they add or subtract, what dialer, what page pool setting... etc.. things like these. I am just looking for a good starting point to do my research on which rom I want to use.
There are just too many out there for a person to wade through to find the base set of features they want. I run a small business, and use my phone daily in it. I don't have them time to read about every single rom. I will read about a few though. And it would help to narrow down which ones I look at if I know what features they focus on.
Once the wiki table was set up it would require very little to enter basic data and to keep it loosely updated. As I said, I am just looking for a basic idea of the direction each chef takes their rom.
Seriously? Nobody else thinks this is a good idea? Everyone likes searching through dozens of topics, and wading through Hundreds of pages of replies to find basic data about a rom, and some user feedback? And does everyone here prefer to flash every rom under the sun to find the right one for them?
Don't get me wrong, in my spare time I am a gadget/tech lover. I love to tinker... again- if I have the time.
But there really does have to be a better way to narrowing down the list of potential roms one might want to try. I don't mind trying a few.....but not all.
Any body else with me on this? Or do I stand(type) alone?
Thanks
Yep I support this as well (That said it's fun to go through all these pages ehehe)
I totally agree with you. I am very surprised that this does not exist yet. Our great cookers are putting a lot of efforts into their ROM, but it's no use if we cannot find those.
The point would not be to rate the ROMs because everybody is not looking for the same kind of software. Brief informations like the WM build, the Sense version (if installed), the language and a small description field would be very nice already.
Thanks Alcibiade!
Later
Its a good idea. But anyone can update WIKI! So why not take the initiative?
ai6908:
I will look into it, didn't know that just anybody could edit/create wiki pages... I don't have a whole lot of time... so it might be a while.
Hopefully if I do this the cooks will participate.
Thanx

you are worried about how much of YOUR TIME that YOU SPEND trying to find the right rom have you ever thought about how much time we chefs spend creating these roms? i can promise that flashing a few roms and reading through some threads is nothing in comparison to cooking a good rom. im speaking for myself here, but i think its pretty sad that you ask us to do MORE than we already do....its not like this is our job and we are on your payroll. make a wiki page if you want, but i will never participate.
and end of discussion...lol

D2 Nooblet Questions...

Hi all firstly great forums, secondly i am a complete tard when it comes to technology so be gentle please..........
Ok i just recieved my Diamond 2 and i was wondering if you could help me with the basic upgrades i should get right away before i do anything with it ie 6.5, ROM stuff etc bear in mind i havent a clue about these phones as it is my first new phone for along time.
Also which memory card should i buy for about £20...£35 i want an 8-16gb, do i need to get a micro or normal size ? a class 2, 4, 6 make website i could get a decent trustworthy one from the uk.
The phone is from London and sim free if that helps.
So is there any upgrades that are a must or i should definately get before i start playing around with it.Would like a really nice looking OSrom if poss and not complicated as i will only really use the basics atm GPRS Sat Nav Tom Tom etc. Also a radio Rom ??
The upgrades on HTC site there is a big list do i need to DL and install all of these or ? http://www.htc.com/europe/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=249&act=sd&cat=all
Also i read and found http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/Enhancements/Spb-Mobile-Shell-31386.shtml
Is there a place to get the full free is it a good OS (SPB-Mobile-Shell 3.5.1)
A small list of things i should DL would really help me.
As you can see im pretty clueless so any help would be really appriciated.
Thanks in advance for any replies and for your time.
Peter
First of all... welcome.
Start reading the stickys in section "Topaz ROM development". There you find threads for ROM and radioROM.
You need micro-SD cart. I'm sure it's in the manual... Speed of it isn't that important if you don't gonna transfer movies and so every day...
You don't need to install all the updates if you go directly for a new rom.
SPB is shareware, so no free ones. But I think you can try it for free some days.
One last thing... reading, reading, searching, searching and don't open several new threads with probs...
Happy flashing...
