how can i tell if my phone is cid unlocked ?

i bought an unlocked cingular 8125, tested it with both cingular sim and t-mobile sim and both works, now how can i tell if its cid unlocked ?

try installing another carrier/manufacturer's rom and see if it lets you.

CID-unlocked Wizard, after upgrading TMO-USA-2.26, return???

I am seeking any expert's idea on CID unlock issue. I searched around and could only find this one. If anyone knows the answer upfront, appreciate.
"I called T-M tech support. They confirmed that the ROM update would NOT return a previously unlocked MDA to a SIM-locked condition. Of course, I did NOT ask about the CID lock Embarassed

why would it??? i have been running a stripped 2.26 t-mo OS with a custom cingular ext rom and the cingular radio... and i cant even count how many times i have reflashed over the weekend getting my new rom to work.. and it has not returned to cid/sim locked

HELP - UNLOCK T-Mobile MDA to work for Cingular

I am a noob here, and i have no clue what the forum is talking aobut, can someone please help me, i need to unlock my T-Mobile MDA to work with the Cingular Service

Look through the threads. Lokiwiz has produced an unlocker that will unlock your MDA(SIM and CID). You will need to determine if you have a G3 or G4 and that will get you started:

After you get it unlocked you may want to install one of the cooked roms that will make it perform better. I am currently using Molski's rom:

I was completely lost at first but within a few days I had mine unlocked and upgraded. Just keep reading.

8525 unlock question, SIM card from 8125

My 8125 kind of died so I got a 8525 and took my old sim card and put it in the 8525. Do I have to unlock stuff all over again or can I just update the rom on the 8525?

CID and SIM unlocking is in the device, not in SIM card.
So certainly you need to do all over again (But DON'T ever use stuffs for Wizard to unlock your 8525! Head to the Hermes forum for unlocking information)

If its a G3 use lokiwiz02b to SIM unlock it but if its G4 use lokiwiz03a to SIM unlock.
