We in czech republic tryes long time to make a CZech localization directly into the 2.26.10.2 aku2.3 ROM, but we have some problems.
We have extracted mui files from our aku 2 CZ 2.21 ROM and then rebuilds all the mui files by our cempression method and write to all of thems our digital signature make. We also make some new muis because in aku 2 and 2.3 is some differences.
Than we made a cab file with that mui and Registry changes. - It work great !!
BUT - We want to import Czech language into the ROM and.
1. The import mui files into a ROM isn`t problem
2. The registry chnges is quite problem. default.rgu has NOT diacritic and if We compile it, the We can`t recompile it back, because instead of diacritic (éíáýžřčš) We have only nonsence symbols. (but in ROM it work, if we don`t recompile it back)
3. The bigest problem is initflashfiles.dat . We can`t add into it Czech symbols (example: Settings = Nastavení). If we get the initflashfiles from WWE ROM - that will not start after Hard Reset and the ROM is quite unusable. If we put the initflash.dat from our CSY ROM (in notepad it shows nonsence symbols and numbers) Thats the same.
Do you have any idea how to code initflash.dat to work good ?

Hi guys, I have an english k-jam flashed to the italian Rom. Then, using a registry editor, I have edited the keybd/locale value to "0809", but there are still some buttons that do not work right ("blue dot"+n is = instead of *, "blue dot"+b is + instead of =, and so on).
Maybe 0809 is not the correct value for me?
Any hints? thanks!
Italian is 0410 (HEX-value!)
0809 is English UK

Unfortunately (for you) it's in German. But if you could provide me with the necessary files I could make one in Italian, too.
The necessary files are:
- TraRecoITA.dll (or something similar)
- TraRes0410.96.dll
- TreRes0410.dll
- transcriberITA.htm
- mssp2_it.lex
- sym.txt (a italian one!)
- dictprob_IT.dat
- statdict_IT.dat
concerning the ITA, IT,.. endings of the file names: they may differ, cause I only do know the german endings. These files are usually in the windows folder of an ITALIAN ROM.
Please do not ask me how to extract them - that's kind of difficult and I don't know how. The only thing I know is that the best thing is to dump ít from a ROM backup with viewimgfs.

I use WM5 Helmi Aku 2.3 32 MB, and also tried with others roms, to use the Language Addon Portuguese in the ftp://[email protected]/BlueAngel/BA_WM5/Language Addons/Portuguese/ = Portuguese Language Pack for WM5. Pedro says "Just copy all the files to your \windows dir of your BlueAngel". I do exactally as descrived, after doing that and softreset there is no change to the system, everything is still in English! Can someone help me how to use the Portuguese Language Pack for WM5, because I have read lots of post and cant get the answer . I would really apreciate.

I've been trying all time to change the WM6 Falja Rom to German with German Language Files from a other WM6 Instalation. I tryed to replace the files in the ROM (Extracted it, Placed German Files in, Deleted American Language, Changed Registry, and cooked one by myself) and i cant install it. All time its only the Operator Screen.
Can anybody help me to cook a falja german rom, or we try togheter to make a setup file that Windows is in German?
I would be very Happy if someone can help me about this mission

Its been talked a lot how to change language in roms. but not realy how to translate.WHot I did aftre trying again and again:
extracted from wwe rom mui files.(YOu can downlode eng.zip with mui files to start)
then unsighn .eng.zip files are alredy unsighned.
The tricky part is that YOu need PE Explorer and Restorator 2007.
those 2 programs give the best solution for editing mui files.
open PE Explorer then select resource viewer/editor
and go to menu folder duble click on resource and translate whots in caption window.
the same we do with Dialog folder.
save
now open Restorator 2007 and edit String. (By editing string with PE Explorer it messes up the mui file)
dont forget to enable edit mode or press F6.
and edit like
18001, "Simple PIN\0x00"
whot is in red
Save
Now YOu need to sign the file with siggner ( can be found on this forum)
move it to phones memory card and with Resco explorer move to windows dir.
replace existing file. reboot
Generaly thats all

there are Language Extenders for Pocket PC
the latvian did not work with wm 6.1
so easy way to translati is open original mui file in one window and the extender language file in other and copy-paste the text to otiginal file.
esti.zip is just files for looking, copying thext strings. do not use them in YOur phone. they will not work

this works in wwe rom.
try soft spl.
english mui files dont mach with dutch rom. You need wwe rom to play with mui . or edit dutch muis

Would it be possible to use a localized version of the EzInput 2.0 in a WWE ROM, either by installing some cab file to a WWE ROM or cook a custom WWE ROM with the EzInout files from for example the Norwegian ROM?
Even though I have a Norwegian branded device I would actually prefer a WWE ROM (the Norwegian translation isn't very good), but I need support for Norwegian xT9 and keyboard layout.

Hey paalkr, do you have a regeditor on your topaz?
Then you can dump the registry under HKLM/Software/HTC/EZinput/ to a .reg file.
And then if you've flashed a wwe rom, you can import that regfile and softreset. Then you;ll have a norwegian t9 on your device.

Thanks, I have dumped the reg already and uploaded the .reg file in this post, but I have not have any chance to try it out yet on a WWE ROM, because of the not yet released HSPL (but that seems to be solved anytime soon now).

I think you have to dump the contents of HKLM\Software\Tegic
Does this work for all inputs?
mine doesn't even have HKLM/Software/HTC/EZinput

Edit 0C09.xml and 0D09.xml as you wish.
You only need charmap and notepad.
I made a finnish layout so theres no all norwegian letters, but at least it's a start...
(works at least in ezinput that comes with topaz 2.53 (2_1_19223325_00) and leo 2.10 (2_1_20113225_00))
Somewhere there was swedish layout with direct buttons to öäå, but i didn't like it so made my own...
