Rom Upgrade for PDA2k

Hi, I have a pda2k and am trying to work out which is the best Rom version to upgrade to. I have tried to work this out from the wiki and other posts but am still unsure, and am slightly nervous! I also cannot find many posts from other people who have upgraded pda2ks.
The versions I am currently running are below.
ROM Version: 1.12.22
Extended ROM version: 1.12.169
Radio Version: 1.02.00
Is this latest Imate rom (i-mate_PDA2k_WWE_12200_162_10600_SHIP.exe) the best one to install or would something like the 1.33 Siemens rom be better (would it work on this device)?

Thanks Junie, the rom I refer to in my post is the latest English rom on the clubimate website. I was wondering if that was the best one to install.

Well Wiki says that the highest is the imate 1.31 (Arabic) with radio 1.06.02 and cooking your own exteneded rom.
It does not tell you how to use the siemens rom as nobody has posted to the "List of know Blueangel, sold as, Model ID, Operator code ect" thread.
But you can read that siemes thread to work it out.
Wiki does tell you how to fix the probem of lack of a camera with the siemens rom if you went that way.

thanks mda. I think I am going to go with the 1.22 imate rom with my own extended rom.

Don't forget the 1.33.10 upgrade from the SX66 Update made possible for PDA2K by mamaich! I used that plus the Camera reinstate CAB file I made and my PDA2K nicely. I am now getting proper voicemail notification icons on Cingular's network.

Yes, I have been looking at that. One thing I noticed is that there is no ms_.nba. This means that the fix.bat gives me errors. Is this normal?

The mamaich hack version is only the os, this is due to the fact that the ext rom is someting that you should cook your self and that the radio is outdated.
The original rom was made with the new encription, mamaich! reboxed it so that it would work with the tools.

I too have a PDA2K and am running the 1.33.110 WWE Siemens rom with 1.06.02 radio from the qtek rom, and I applied the Wlan patch, the 3900 build upgrade, and the camera patch, and all is well.I get good b/t range now (25ft) and the wifi does not disconnect me.I just put on the O2 plus cab too,and it seems to be alright.I like the Icons,but it does slow the unit down a little sometimes.

Please tell me which Bluetooth headset works best with your PDA2K. We have matching versions on everything, but I can't get more than 3 feet line-of-sight away from my PDA2K with my HS810 or my Meritline Bluetooth headset. Almost makes me think the BT on this phone is useless.

ok, flashed the siemens bios with radio. works great and was much easier than I thought!

Nice setup you have there, BeyondtheTech...!
How do you like your system at the moment? Is this setup working for you and is the iMate stable? If so, would you mind uploading your CABS, so I can play with them as well?
As far as BT, I upgraded to 3900, was not satisfied, BT headset got worse. Then I bought a new headset (Logitech, BT supporting version 1.2), downgraded to 3500, applied the patch, and all seems ok now.

I am using a Motorola HS820. I was using a jabra,but it sucked! I got my radio from the Qtek 1.22.167 WWE rom.It seemed to be better than the radio in the 1.22.557 rom for some reason. It is very stable now.
At about 15ft the b/t starts to get a little bit of static,but is clear enough to use easily. At 25ft you are at the end of you're USABLE range,tho!

Did you install the complete 1.22.167 WWE ROM or did you extract the radio.nbf and replaced it with the one on your OEM ROM?

I had been using the 1.22.167WWE Qtek Rom w/1.06.02 when the Siemens Rom came out,so the radio was the easy part. The rest,I read and got alot of help.....LOL

Where can I get Siemens SX66 ROM , modified by Mamaich, to update my PDA2K ROM ?

Yeah it is a step back, but it helps complete the library of official roms on the FTP, and it may contain components that people will find useful in their own cooked roms.

Upgrading to Windows Mobile 6.1

Can anyone clairify the upgrading process from Mobile 6.0 to 6.1. I have searched WIKI and this forum for information with no success. I attemped to install from Microsoft's site, but the installer stated that i have a "more recent version" than 6.1.
Currently, I am running Schap's 4.30 Rom and my Mobile version reads 6.0. Am i missing something?

how did you even get schap's rom running and not figure out how get a 6.1 rom on your device?

I guess i should rephrase my question. Has anyone recevied an error message while upgrading from Mobile 6.0 to 6.1?

Are you referring to Windows Mobil 6.1 or Office Mobil 6.1? Because my Kaiser came with Office Mobil 6.1.

Well because Schap's 4.30 Rom is a 6.0 rom.
Try Alex 6.1 Beta 2. Its a good release. Theres more from great cooks in the forum.

i know its a 6.0 rom, i'm just wondering how did he managed to flash a custom 6.0 rom but not know how to flash a 6.1 rom......

its the same procedure you know.......u just need to use a 6.1 rom. and what was it that u were trying to dl from the microsoft website?

This is how i understand the situation (please correct if im wrong)
1. Installing WM6.1 is not like installing a simple cab file. it is Rom based. hense it has to replace your existing rom.
2. Officially the 6.1 will be out end of this month
3. The 6.1 Roms that are floating around here are due to an unofficial leak and cooks cooked them nicely

I believe i am confused. I thought the upgrade process for Windows Mobile 6.0 to 6.1 was to go this website http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx . In fact, this website was an upgrade for Windows OFFICE mobile 6.0 to 6.1.
Ultimately, I would like to upgrade to Dutty's 6.1 rom and felt I needed to upgrade before i could do this. Based the recent post, WM 6.1 is embedded into the ROM rom and would be "upgraded" during the flash process. Am i correct?
Sorry for the confusion, I troll here as often as i can and appreciate the community support. I came from the Treo 700wx and havent regretted it.

If you want to upgrade to WM6.1, you just need to flash with a WM6.1 ROM. Dutty's 6.1, Alex's 6.1 Beta, Sleuth's......there are a whole bundle out there. Essentially, if you have already been flashing ROMs previously, you don't need to do any more than choose your WM6.1 based ROM and flash it to your device.

Hi I have an HTC S620 before it was a s621 the ones from Rogers.
The phone is unlocked and now it mounts
Windows Mobile 6 Standard CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
ROM version: 1.27.405.1
Radio Version: 4.1.13.44_02.94.90
Looking in the forums I found out about a new version RUU_Excalibur_HTC_WWE_Brightpoint_US_1.33.422.1_4.1.13.51_03.07.90_Ship.exe
1)I would like to know if this version is NOBRAND?
2)I would like to know if it's the latest version of WM6?
3)Is it a beta ROM?
4)Is it compatible for my S620?
5)Will there be (adobe reader LE, clearvue documents - presentation - worksheet) they are under the folder office?
I read in some forums that this ROM does not have office, so I was wondering what is office, is it the files under the folder office or it's a real office word ecc. that is not present in mine either.
Last question, in forums I found out of a new update WM6 the WM6.1, but I don't understand if its standard or professional WM. Is there anything official, I don't understand, could you please indicate the latest WM for my HTC S620.

HTC Wizard (MDA Vario) - How to update AKU to enable AKU 2.0 or better??

Hi to everyone!
First apologies if this is not the correct area to post about this! Yes i am new and not that wize about how these things work.
My knowledge of what you guyz are doing is limited although I managed to unlock and update my mda to wm 6.1
These are my specs:
wm 6.1 professional
TNT Series5.2.19199 (Built 19199.1.0.0)
rom 11.0.0.2 wwe
rom date 2/02/08
radio version 02.47.11
protocol version 4.1.13.24
extrom version TNT series
it is a G4 device and CID is unlocked.
My question is this (i am sure for most of you easy to answer) :
what do i need to do / update in order to get an AKU of 2.0 of better in order to use bluetooth stereo headphone?

No...the A2DP fix is in WM5 AKU2.0 or above. All versions above that (including WM6 and WM6.1) already equipped with A2DP support.

Now i tried to install the AKU-Version from the t-mobile-Site (german).
Always if i try to install the Software, i get a error-message with a recovery-Window.
