I, have Siemens SX66 GSM ( PH20B) Upgraded to wron version and now it boot with colored horizontel straps (red, green, blue, white) and goes to WM 5, with slow to none functions and also lost radio.
Now I, tried with several WM5 versions and it display error message ( Model ID error 100) Can some one help how to remove / clean it and recomend working WM5.
See some post at the bottom of this topic
If you you have lost the Radio, ie, no version number is displayed on cold booting/hard re-set, then all is lost.
As i had the same problem with a phone I was given to fix.
As most/all of the Upgrade programs Check to see what Radio version the phone already has, and if it cant see one it fails
My only course of action was to get the Phone fixed under warenty
Read all about it here
Hope.......
Mine did the same thing, it was sooooo slow that I was thinking about buying a new unit but at the last breath I did the following and it worked:
- Go to the BootLoader screen (Press: Power Switch+Media Player+Recorder+Rest) all at the same time, your PDA should say “Serial” at the top of the screen.
- Plug you PDA to the cradle and it should read “USB” at the top of the screen.
- Use At least TuMa 1.3 with Radio 1.13.
Note:
The upgrade EXE should load up with a picture of the PD at the left side of the screen that DOES NOT look like your SX66…it looks like an HP PDA…!!!
Mine came back to life but sometimes you might have to SOFT reboot your PDA to get the Radio to work (Hard boot then use a third party software to softreboot).
Good luck.
so using the MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP and radio rom only you were unsuccessful at flashing?

I, went through all upgrades without issue but now PDA is so slow it takes ages to change selections..
have you downgraded back to 03se and still have this issue?
You will have to follow the steps very accurately...if you leave any step out you might end up like me at the beginning when my device was sooooo slow it was useless.
I took these steps from this forum...try it
Best Luck…
Thanks for all help did every thing but still some of menu are so slow that take several minutes to open , still looking for some tips and suggestions or if some one one knows how to turn it back to W2003
I, remoed some of programs from my SX66 that seems to be causing problems and were npt compatible with and got my PDA back...its now working awsome...Thanks for all who helped
Hi,
I have a huge problem.. I just wanted to install a new ROM on my MDA Vario
and during the update process I accidentaly knocked the phone of my desk.
Causing the USB to unplug and crash the update.
The Vario now stops booting @ the red, green and blue screen..
Hard reset didn't work and Windows won't recognize the phone when I plug in the USB cord..
Eerrrr.. HELP!
Can I fix this? If yes; HOW?!
The red/green/blue screen is a good sign, when you plug in your USB cable, you should see a USB icon on the bottom of your Wizard's screen. At this point, run the RUU for the ROM again from your PC. This re-flashing should fix it.
If the icon doesn't appear, check to see that the fall didn't break the phone's USB connector. If it did, send it for repair.
The next step would be to reboot your PC, and remove the battery from your phone for 5 minutes or so. Then try to reconnect again, and see if that works (To display the aforementioned icon).
Good luck!
omg dude..
I could kiss you right now.. Before your reply, I tried the same thing already (without the reboot) but that didn't work..
The USB icon did show up on my Wizard's screen, but Windows didn't recognize a USB device, so there was no
way of re-running the RUU to continue/retry the upgrade..
Obviously Windows had a lot of 'update' programs still running in memory..
And I couldn't 'kill' them.. So I reboot my PC, plug in the USB connector and YES! it's updating!!
The phone didn't fall on the USB connector.. It sort of bungee-jumped of my desk
Phew.. man I'm reliefed You just made my day!
Good to hear that you fixed your phone, Darkone.
I recently bricked a Cingular 8125 using an update from Cingular's website. Turns out my phone was a G4 and the ROM update was for G3 phones (Cingular neglected to state this information. I got my replacement phone in the mail, it's a refurbished G3 phone with a messed up, sticky keyboard. My bricked G4b(brand new, in immaculate condition) is stuck in boot loader mode(RGB screen), but I've tried about 6 different G4 ROMs and it appears that there is no way in hell it's coming back from the dead. I think my mistake was not CID unlocking it prior to the ROM upgrade. Glad your upgrade/bricking story had a happier ending
So am I gumbydude.. So am I..
I'm sorry to hear your phone is bricked beyond repair..
But isn't it possible for Cingular to fix your bricked one?
They caused the problem in the first place, they didn't inform you in any way that the ROM was for G3 phones..
I wouldn't agree to use a refurbished, sticky G3 phone if it's their fault you bricked your brand new G4b in the first place..

First, if you get the RGB Screen that is the bootloader so your phone IS NOT BRICKED!
Second, the Cingular 2.25 Rom works with both G3 & G4 devices, it contains two complete bootloaders.
Third, you do not need to CID Unlock your device to flash an official Cingular Rom onto a Cingular 8125/8100.
Fourth, you should return the replacement device telling Cingular Returns that it is not in acceptable condition.
Fifth, download the Cingular 2.25 Rom from here: http://www.htcamerica.net/support/8125/software-downloads.html
Well, my problem is kind of similar, so I won't post a new threead, but write in this one instead.
So, what's the story... I upgraded my G3 Wizard to PDAVIET's v4 WM6 ROM and it worked like a charm. Changed the default boot logo with a custom one and after a while I tried to flash again with the same ROM (because I had restored backup from Windows Mobile 5 and had been experiencing a few bugs; however, I had done hard reset before this flashing) - it stuck at 2%; I waited 10 minutes and reset the device, saw the bootloader, pluged the USB and started the flasher - It didn't see my phone is connected to the computer. It turned out that when I plug the USB cable, the device hangs, so if I pull it out, it won't give any indication and the display will still read "USB". So, there is no way to access my phone and reflash it, nevertheless it can go in bootloader mode (however, no LED or keys are flashing) - it will just hang upon connecting the USB cable... Tried to remove the battery for a while and it still hangs just the same way...
Does anyone think there is a way to repair the device and what advice would give me to try to work the problem out?
I recently used Faria's How to and unlocked my phone, loaded his crossbow rom etc. My phone works flawless.
Now i am attempting to do a friends 8125 (g3)as well. Ive followed the how to exactly and im having a small problem. The first time i tried to downgrade to the buttons 1.05 rom, it froze up. I rebooted, and tried again, its hanging up showing 99% on the PC and 98% on the 8125 and WILL NOT MOVE. I also of course can not get an activesync connection due to the fact that the only screen i get on the 8125 is the 3 color screen. Anyone have any ideas? Quick responses would be greatly appreciated!
When applying ROMs sometimes it appears to stop at 98 or 99% but it isn't. You have to wait for a while - up to 10 minutes I suppose (worst case).
The three color screen is fine. Plug in your USB and the letters "usb" should show in the lower left hand corner. Start your ROM upgrade when you see this.
Let us know...
Alright, so I've been lurking on this forum for quite some time now. I've flashed, reflashed roms. I thought I had a handle on everything but I guess I was wrong. I've been away from a Window's computer for quite some time now. And I recently saw the new 3.3 rom from the gods of xda. Well, I downgraded, to button's 1.01. and then here's where i screwed up. i forgot to go back up to a 2.xx rom. and went straight for the gold and went for the 3.3. yes i know i screwed up. well here's where I'm at now. still stuck with Button's 1.01 ipl/spl but i have the 3.3 OS. And now I'm not getting any active sync connection, my computer isn't recognizing my wizard. also. my 8125 is slow, i mean i tap the screen and i get nothing re-tap nothing eventually nothin happens, and it's stuck on the today screen. I should also mention it's G3, and yes, i unlocked it all the way. so now I'm basically stuck on the today screen with nothing to do. I foolishly finally tried to clear the storage and start from scratch, but now I'm stuck with no extended rom i believe, all the settings are wiped. am i screwed or what? Or does anyone know a way to at least get active sync back up and running, shouldi re-install it? alright so correction, I'm seeing that all the settings from the extended are showing up (i.e. the battery settings on the today screen, the one-touch voicemail/ 411 connect.) so any suggestions.??
edit--
also when booting up, it takes for ever. litteraly 2-4 minutes. And i tried soft rest via stylus, and then it went to button's boot screen shows ipl spl 1.01 and no radio rom but os was 3.3 and then it would reset showing the same damn beer mug, and then it would do it again. then the screen almost faded away and then it showed the same damn screen again. finally it will go to the crossbow splash screen. and no the battery meter at the bottom is showin -1%
you wizard is not dead yet
I did this...hurry...hurry, hurry but there's somethin' that you can do. Try flashing again button's rom by entering your ppc into bootloader, and then attach it to the pc. It will be recognized, and then you can start flashing.
Good luck. And from mistakes we all learn
hmmm
Well I took your advice, put the 8125 into bootloader. And then connected to the laptop. Still no active sync connection, however the 8125 does recognize it I suppose, when I plug into the laptop the USB appears at the bottom left of my 8125's screen.

sorry... i hit the edit button in place of quote.

bootloader mode?
i haven't messed up any of my roms personally yet...but i've read in the past that there is a bootloader mode that you can try to enter and reflash your rom from there. maybe it'll work to try and reflash back to the 1.01 rom you started with?
gotta do a search on here to find it...i think it had something to do with holding the comm manager button and the voice dial button and hitting the small button on the right side of the phone between the voice dial and camera button...
waaait
It is how it's supposed to act. It shouldn't charge...it's in bootloader. Just after you hear the "device connected" sound start the button's rom upgrade. that's it. easy as pie
Or you can start with any 2.xx rom. i think it's going to work with that too.
Ok man, I'm such a spaz, alrigh, there's no active sync, but I am running the no id update utility. And it's running on the ppc, so hopefully, I'm making progress.
Exactly what I said

Also, it's not showing that the 8125 is charging either. On usb, or regular wall outlet. What have I gotten myself into?simply put the device in booloader mode and flash the latest aku2 rom from your provider...this will bring it to live again. due to an hardware flaw wizards cannot be charged with out a proper working OS ....if your battery has drained you need to find an alternative way of charging it and then only you can flash the rom.
ps
activesync is not needed once in bootloader ....
with pleasure
As i said...some mistakes come in handy
@ Faria ... man, I think that if you don't have active sync installed, it won't work... It installs some drivers, the first time it goes into bootloader(for an upgrade 4 example), but it's true that you don't need "active sync" ....course, it's verry possible that I'm wrong...but I had a motorola Mpx200 and it wouldn't recognize it for flash until I've installed active sync

Yeah I didn't know that either, I started to freak once i saw activesync wasn't picking up the 8125. But it's good to know that you don't necesarilly need it up and running.
I have just been trying to upgrade my Wizard, I have done this many times before, I tried but failed with a few ROM's and last I tried Molski's latest, now, it is just dead, after I try a hard reset, I get the red blue green screen for a few seconds, I even see it connecting to the USB and then the screen just goes black.
Pleas help with anything
Sounds to me you're battery could be empty/dead
It was full last night, so I do not think this is the problem

Try another battery and see.
And keep us posted
I agree, it sounds like your battery is drained. And since it goes to the boot loader, that means your battery will not charge on your phone. You'll have to borrow a battery that is charged, or get someone to charge your battery.

What state did you leave the phone in over night? Was the battery removed, or was the phone fully off..?
Interesting. I seem to have a similar problem. I only get the boot loader screen.
But i can establish a USB connection and update my phone. It will go all the way to 100%. Then the phone will switch off and start new. But instead of loading the OS it goes automatically into the boot loader screen.
Any idea what went wrong here?

Since you haven't told us what you were trying to do when this started, what rom you tried flashing, and what your current IPL / SPL are and whether this is a G3 or G4, no, we don't have any ideas on what is wrong .
Read and follow this:

I would suggest you try flashing your carrier's latest official rom to get a working device back.
Bricked
If install IPL 3.08 in G4, exist solution or not
One thing to add : if the battery is really low, then it will likely not charge or respond via USB. It is necessary to use the wall charger in this case. It must have something to do with the amount of charging current that can be delivered to a flat battery.

I'm not sure if you are asking a question or what. But if you try to install IPL/SPL 3.08 on a G4 device, your device will be bricked (ie: dead). I did see where someone in the Wizard forum said they were able to do a JTAG recovery and get their G4 back.

You are right, sorry.
I used to have Aserg3.12 Rom on my device (G4). It worked well for at least two months. Suddenly the phone crashed in the middle of a call and didnt react anymore. Hard Reset nothing worked.
I got somehow the Boot Loader Screen back and downgraded to the original rom (QTEK novid, 220734, 2207114). Problem was whilst it finished the upload process until 100% and restarted the phone, it got stuck at the OS loading page. After 1 minute the screen started losing its colour and turned white. If I soft or hard reset the same happens, it turns white at the OS loading page.
At some point I got through miraculously, it started up and everything was fine. I charged it, upgraded to smart1 wm6 v2 and everything seemed to work. However again some 10 minutes into a call, the phone crashed and back to square one. Downgrade to old rom, got again stuck at OS loading screen etc.
I then put it over night on the charger. The orange charging LED was blinking in 5-10 sec intervals. In the morning it was red. I started the phone again interestingly got through and got it running. Battery was fully charged. But again: 10 min into a call, the phone crashed. And trying to reboot I get to the OS loading screen, then it turns white. I put it back on the charger LED is blinking, guess I have to wait again for some hours.
Thanks for any help or suggestion,
forgot that:
IPL 2.15.0001
SPL 2.20.0001
Aserg3.12? smart1 wm6? Are you sure you've got a wizard? Aren't those prophet roms?
