Hi,
Has anybody else had problems installing Skype on Australian version of XDA IIi?
Or for that matter - has anybody had any luck!? I can't seem to find any ROM upgrades - not for the Australiasian version anyway. And when I run setup for Skype for Pocket PC 2.1 (alpine) i get ;
"Invalid Windows CE Setup File - can not install due to an invalid setup file"
Grrr! Tried hard reset, uninstalled exisitng programs - etc etc?
Any pointers would be veryily appreciated.
I am now going to do it the advanced way cab files? wish me luck! - i'm stepping out of my bounds of competency
Done [email protected]@@
Ok - so that wasn't so scary - loaded the Cab file on - clicked it - and walla - using my xda for skype.. Sorted.

Up till last week I had a T-Mobile MDA Compact and I'd got Tomtom (bakonl) running. Now I have a Wizard (T-Mobile from The Netherlands) and I can't install the Tomtom. Appears that WM2005 not compatible with Tomtom Version 5. Anyone got a plan to get arround this? :?:
To install TTN5 on WM5 you have to copy the cab files directly to pda and launch it with the pocket explorer (or resco explorer).
a bit more info to install tomtom and get it working

Thanks for the responses guys. I've given it a go and moved the cab files from the CD to my SD card and installed the GPS cab first. Then soft booted the Vario and then attempted to install the TTN cab.
All per the post :-

However... Still won't install correctly...
Am I doing something wrong?
Any more advice gladly received.
Thanks,
you need te get the tomtom 5.1 files then it works fine. I've got it working on my bleu angel with WM5, and today i installed in on my brother's vario and it worked just fine.
Thanks,
Can I ask... Where did you get the 5.1 files from?
You can download TTN5.1 from the following link
http://www.tomtom.com/updates/ppcupd510.exe
otherwise just use a torrent search engine, you should find it in no time

You need the zip file not the exe. AS4 messes up the installation.

Dear All,
I found this update this week..
http://users.skynet.be/wallpaper/TOMTOM5.1.zip (for more info see http://tomtom3.web-log.nl/log/856067 around - Mondeo :: 20 september 2005 16:18 -).
Note : Download, unzipp... connect your PDA/Phone via Sync cabel/station, setup.exe run. (I have installed it over my (bakonl) 5.0 version.... !!!).
Note 2 : Can ONLY be used if you have a BeNeLux version of bakonl TT5 and only with the BeNeLux map (normal or plus).......
Success with the upgrade.
TomTom with WM6.1 on HTC wizard
Good Morning,
can anybody support me in trying to setup a navigation functionality on my HTC wizard, that runs WindowsMobile 6.1 (those TNT edition)?
Unfortunately i can't find up to date information about which GPS-hardware to use. Is BlooTooth the only reasonable solution for the wizard?
I also plan to feed the tachymeter signal from my bicycle somehow. Has anybody read of approaches to this and can cite or link?
Third thing I'm in search of is an alternative camera software. The "Camera for Pocket PC Version 3.00" does not support geoTagging and not even writing in the Tags for Titling, commenting etc.
Many thanks for your valuable hints in advance.

Have upgraded to the latest o2 UK s/w (I'm a chicken for the hacked WM2005 versions for the mo) details below:
v1.40.237 are:
* O2 Active UI v3.6.024
* Bluetooth build 3900
* Radio build 1.12
* Windows mobile CE version 1.40
* BlackBerry Connect v2.0 for Enterprise Mail (BES)
* Removal of Photo Contacts
And now when I try to start the camera I get an error claiming it's not able to start preview mode (as per attached photo).
Any ideas?

Hi mate,
I had the same fault with my xdaIIs on vodafone, I used activesync and my cradle , downloaded the file below and copied and pasted it to program files in the pda. then navigated to the file using the pda and tapped on it , it self extracted and after a soft reset the camera worked.
I would imagine this would work for you.Bear in mind I am no expert.
Good luck.
Superb, cheers halflife. That's sorted it.

After installing TT6 on WM2003SE, rebooting the system gives:
BTAVUI Error 0x37 opening WAV Driver wit TomTom6
TT6 modified \windows\BtCoreIf.dll and \windows\BtSdkCE30.dll
As a result, Microsoft Voice Command fails to run.
Anyone else has the same problem? Or know how to fix it?
With WM2003SE
Before TT6 installation:
BtCoreIf.dll & BtSdkCE30.dll are both Version 1.0.0.3900 from BroadComm Corp
After TT6 installation:
BtCoreIf.dll & BtSdkCE30.dll are both Version 1.4.1.74 from WIDCOMM Inc
I was able to replace the BtSDKCE30.dll, but the BtCoreIf.dll is always in-use and I can't overwrite it.

You need to use the PC and explore to that file (also view hidden files) then rename to old to remove it
how do you get the 1.0.0 versions ?
Think i sorted it, rename BtCoreIf.dll to BtCoreIfold.dll and it now "seems" to work
BTW my error was on a dell axim
Bless you, I had the exact problem - no sound coming from any program. The volume slider on screen and using the hardware buttons would move but as soon as the Volume display was off the screen it would revert to zero immediately!
Thankyou for posting this - such a simple solution. Just changed BTCoreIf.dll as above/ soft reset and everything is back to normal.

I've renamed the BtCoreIf.dll file, but still no sound
can anyone help with this?

I've done some research and can't find much on this topic -
I'm trying to run a program called Smurf - it requires that I have SQL CE installed on the device. I've tried 2 different ROM's (Alex's & Mobile Vista) Everytime I run the program it gives me a error about not being able to find sqlceme30.dll. The developer told me I needed to install SQL CE and gave me the MS link. I downloaded the program - however, under devices it gives you a ton of different cabs to install. My question is, which one do I install? I use an AT&T Tilt w/ Alex's ROM WM6. Any help would be greatly appriciated....
Thanks.
Dont mean to unbury this but I am having the same exact problem with smurf.
I have this problem with my trinty:

Only this message appear :
"Synchronization could not be completed. If this condition persists try deleting and and than re-creating the device's sync relationships.
Support code: 80004005."
Please try to sugges me solution.
I tried so far - but with no success - still that anoying message....:

Before upgrade everything works ok. I think it was Windows Mobile 6.0 rom from hellonasty.
