Hmmmmmmm...
I was installing a few things yesterday, and now it seems that my "Games" folder in "Programs" has disappeared? I can still access it in my start menu, and the game apps are still there. Is there any way to edit what appears or does not appear in the main programs folder?
Browse your device with ActiveSync on your PC, and navigate to \Windows\Start Menu\Games, and move it into \Windows\Start menu\Programs\Games
This will stop it being displayed i nthe start menu, but will put it back into Programs where it should be.

Hi,
I just installed IPSMS app :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=328242
But, it does not have CAB installer or such.
I just unzip it to the "Storage Card".
It works fine though ...
But how can I make a shortcut or something so I can add it to the HTC Home Plugin launcher tab ?
When I tried to add a new item in the HTC Home Plugin launcher tab, I cannot find it listed and I cannot navigate to the Storage Card ...
Thanks for any help.
You can do it in Windows. Attach the Kaiser to your PC, navigate to the storage card, and use Windows to make a shortcut in the Windows Startmenu on your device. I am using my Mac now, so cannot verify, but I believe that if you right-click on the program you get an option to make a shortcut. Then just copy that shortcut into the Starmenu folder.
Alternatively, use Resco explorer. Tap and hold the program and in the context menu choose Send - Send to Start Menu as shortcut.
Thanks I did not realize that "Start Menu" folder.
How can i move a program to an folder Example. I install a game it goes to the programs folder how can i move it to the games folder? Sorry my bad english
Open File Explorer and go to My Device \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs and find the game shortcut - the file will be only a few bytes in size (e.g. 25B).
Tap and hold on the shortcut and select Cut from the popup menu.
Then go to My Device \ Windows \ Start Menu \ Programs \ Games, tap and hold on a white area and select Paste from the popup menu.
That's it...you've moved it
Mark.
Is there any way to get icons on the folders created like on the standard games folder?
Hi i i cant seem to access the windows folder while browsing the contents of my phone via from a windows vista pc. i want to add a program called pocketCM to the start menu but unable to do so as the windows fodler doesnt appear or is hidden for some reason
Windows folder is hidden and will not be shown on default settings. You have 2 choices
1.To show Windows folder, Open Control Panel > goto Folder Options (may use the search box at top-right) and select the option to show protected operating system files.
2.If you don't want to do the above but somehow get something into it from Desktop, you can always copy it to the visible folders other than Windows and then use pocketpc' file explorer to move it inside Windows.
Regards,
Carty..
Thanks i can access it now. anotehr question. is it possible to create a short cut to the pocketCM program? the idea is to have the actual app stored on my memory card and use a short cut icon placed inside the windows start menu and launch it like that. is that possible? i have tried to copy the program back into the memory card and tried to right-click and select create shortcut but there seems to be no option to do that when i right click on the pocketCM file inside my storage card.
edit: is there also a way to add it to the "HOME" desktop thingy?
I usally get an option when installing a new program to put it either in main memory or the storage card. Some programs don't work well from the storage card, but I usually try them there first.
When I click Programs on my start menu, the device just returns to the TouchFlo home screen. The settings link works fine.
Any idea what has gone wrong and how to fix it?
Programs menu...
Has the 'Programs' shortcut menu ever worked?
If so, it sounds like the folder may have been deleted or moved. Use a file explorer application and browse to 'Windows\Start Menu' - does this folder contain a 'Programs' folder?

It used to work fine and yes, Windows\Start Menu container a Programs folder.
When I double-tap it to open it in Total Commander, it opens in Total Commander absolutely fine and all my shortcuts are in there as expected.
One thing I notice though it may mean nothing is that unlike my Games sub-folder it has no icon.lnk file. As I say, that could mean nothing!
It appears that Programs in the start menu is a kind of default thing in Windows mobile, is there a reg setting that may have got screwed?
Thanks for the help. Anything else to suggest?
Rename the troublesome Programs folder in start menu to something else like Programs2. Next make a new folder and cut and paste all the shortcuts in the Programs2 folder into the new folder. Finally delete the original Programs2 folder. So you have made a new Programs folder. Let me know if that works.

Thanks for the idea. I have tried that but get exactly the same result.
One discovery I made is that if I disable the enlarged start menu, the Programs link works fine!
Anyway, if there are no more ideas from anyone, I fear a hard reset could be in order.
Thanks
Ahh shucks! Sorry it didn't work. I suggested it because I had the sae problem. I made a new folder in Start Menu called Phone and it stopped opening after a while. I did the trick above and it works fine now.
See I have unchecked favourite apps from showing in start menu by unchecking them in the Menu option in Settings. Instead, I created folders in the Start Menu folder, such as Internet, Media, Travel, Office, Games, System, Audio etc and copied the relevant shortcuts from progam folder to the new folders. So when I hit start menu from my home page, I get a drop down list of folders only. Much better in my opinion.

Interesting way of organising your Start Menu.
However, I would probably forget in which folders I put the apps! I quite like the Programs list - it does exactly what I want - so thats why I will just stick with that. I was actually wondering if there was a way of making that Programs folder look better - for instance removing the scrollbars or something. Just a nicer looking program launcher really, but as I say, I like the way it works for me.
Anyway, thanks very much for the help. The programs link is a special link of some sort I reckon, hence your fix didnt work. I think I will upgrade my ROM and do a hard reset!
I auto upgraded to myplayer .96b and now myplayer does not show in the programs lists. I have to navigate to the program using file explorer. I have tried uninstalling and are-installing but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts?
Go to the EXE you use to launch the program in file explorer, tap and hold, and copy it. Then, go to \Windows\Start Menu\Programs and tap and hold, and select "Paste Shortcut", and then you can rename the shortcut to whatever you want.

Hi!
I'd like to gather all games in a subfolder on the start menu so they don't take up so much space. Is that possible? Now, the start menu -> all just gives a list of all the programs in windows\start menu\programs without thinking of which subdirectories the shortcuts are place in.
Does anyone know how to do this?
