The one thing I truly hate about my T-Mo MDA after 6 months is the difficulty using BlueTooth. I had an HP6315 (also T-Mo) which, despite all its other problems (like crashing everyday) had a far more sensible BlueTooth tool.
I don't have an issue with changing the stack--once I'm connected to a device I'm pretty much good, but the connection process is a serious pain in the patoot.
Before the impatient pros tell me "why don't you do a search before you post?" let me say that I have, and nobody I've found addresses this.
It's a really simple thing: every other device I own or have owned that uses B/T peripherals has a "Connect" choice. It doesn't matter if it was my 6315 Ipaq, my laptop computers, a Motorola cell phone or Samsung D-820/T-809 cell phones. All have the ability to force the connection. But the MDA doesn't, as far as I can tell. It either connects automatically, or you (frequently) have to delete the device and initiate a new search for it.
Am I missing something? Is this just the way the MDA is? Is there a piece of software or a registry hack that allows you to force it to connect?
I'm also curious as to why a regular telephone headset won't play back from Windows Media or BetaPlayer. It would very nicely on the 6315 Ipaq and still functioned as a phone. Any ideas? And, the reason I like to do that is I have a long commute and like to listen to Pimsleur language CDs (ripped to MP3) in the car. They work through the wired headset, but I can't stand wired headsets. I can imagine books on CD would also be enjoyable that way.

You can do this. Get BTAudio.
Its not tmobile it the windows bluetooth stack. i have no problems but most people like the widcomm stack because its simple and easy. you should also try a bluetooth stereo headset its good thing to buy if you dont like wired headsets but advise to buy when having extra cash or look for a low price. prices are going down for some reason where i live
I DO have B/T stereo headphones, a pair of Jensens and a pair of IO gear. The latter list for around $150 or more, but a friend bought 2 pair (accidentally) off the 'net for about $35/per. That's what I gave him. The Jensens cost a little more but not much. Both make the HPs look like junk and are far more comfortable.
The problem is in my state it is VERY illegal to wear headphones while you drive. You can wear them on one ear, but not both.
Next, if you use them (not while driving) you are forced to use them as either stereo OR as a mono telephone headset--check the B/T settings.
It never fails to amaze me how if M/S has 5 or 10 choices, they will ALWAYS choose the most difficult to use (and idiosyncratic), the least useful, and the least reliable.

I've just bought my first HTC unit ever (Kaiser), which is also my first Windows Mobile Phone (I used PocketPCs since 2001 but with no integrated phone so far), and it seems to have a lot of issues in the areas of "regular phone" functionality.
However, the one that is really freaking me out so far is the whole "Bluetooth audio" area. I'm just wondering whether I would ever be able to get what I want or am I asking too much.
I have 3 Bluetooth audio devices, all of them are dual Headset/Headphone ones: in-car fixed Motorola T605, Jabra BT8010 and Plantronics 590. Now, naturally, I want to use the T605 in the car, Jabra for phone calls only throughout the day and for music occasionally, and Plantronics when I'm in the gym, for both music and occasional incoming phone calls.
I had all this working flawlessly with my SonyEricsson K800i phone: each device connected to the phone automatically when powered up and automatically took over both Headset and Headphone functions. The only minor problem was reconnecting Jabra when stepping out of the car, which required only a short tap on the button.
Now, with Kaiser, things are much more complicated. When a device (any of them) is connected to the phone, both as Headset and Headphones, it works mostly OK, although sometimes there is a problem of sound not coming through the device when an incoming call was answered while playing music. The music is suspended OK, but the sound comes from the phone speaker instead of the respective Bluetooth device. This happens from time to time, not always.
But the biggest problem is the initial connection of a device after another one has already been connected. When I enter my car and fire up the engine, I want the T605 to automatically connect to the phone even if Jabra has already been connected. This I was unable to achieve. Instead, I have to manually disconnect Jabra (by powering it off or temporarily powering off Bluetooth on the phone) and then manually connect the phone with the T605, for both Headset and Wireless Music (two actions required!). Now, for me, this is unacceptable.
Moreover, when I arrive to a destination and want to step out of the car, I have to manually reconnect my Jabra to the Kaiser, again, through the phone’s Bluetooth settings as described above. A short tap on Jabra’s button no longer works for this purpose, in opposite to SE K800i.
Making the long story short, this is completely unacceptable behavior for me, and I haven’t found so far a way to make it the way I need it.
Any advices?

Have you tried the Bluetooth fix on HTC's website?
Asking is easy, searching is hard work for some people it seems. No offence..
I'm using Schap's ROM which is supposed to have this fix built-in.

Ahh. didn't see that in your first post..
I think you are suffering the same prob as many. Every time a BT device comes out, it never seems to work with what we had before. BT protocols are NOT fixed (The IEEE STILL have not fully implemented a specific proto!), they change faster than we change our devices.
As I said before (without meaning any offence) search the whole forum, many threads have been out on this subject and some advice/fixes or equipment references are out there.
Well, I did search these forums and haven't seen someone referring to the same kind of problems I'm having.
Now, regarding your comment about variety of BT devices... I don't buy that. My SE K800i is 1 year old and works perfectly with this combination of devices.
I have pretty extensive experience with Broadcom/Widcomm BT stack on PC and older models of PocketPC (the one I have is IPAQ 5555) and I suspect these foes are direct derivatives from the fact Kaiser uses MS BT stack, which is much inferior. However, it seems nobody was able to make Broadcom/Widcomm stack work on Kaiser so far...

I have personal experience of Sony's proprietory connection limitations.
My BT works fine on all my devices....will leave you to others.
Looks like I found a partial solution which makes my life almost perfect...
It seems the real problem is taking over Kaiser from a previously connected device. So, if I switch my Jabra off several seconds before I fire up my car's engine, my T605 is able to connect to it. Same goes the other way around, I can turn off the car engine and then fire up the Jabra several seconds later. In this case all is good.
Looks like the MS BT stack is still ill-implemented though, as, for example, when in active Wireless Music BT connection, the device is unable to discover any other Bluetooth devices or to connect to other device's BT serial interface, which makes using external GPS devices difficult.
This could be a problem for me since my car (Citroen C5) has special anti-radiation coating on its windshield which quite effectively screens the satellite signals. Therefore I came up with a solution of having a BT GPS device permanently located in the car (actually, in the driver's seat back pocket) hardwired to the mains as well as to an external GPS antenna. This setup is effectively beating both reception and start-up time problems.
With Kaiser’s limitation on simultaneous BT connections I’m unable to use this setup anymore. Yes, I could bypass using an additional GPS device by connecting the external antenna to Kaiser’s internal GPS, but this looks like a cumbersome solution as I couldn’t find a Kaiser-compatible mounting with a socket for hardwiring an external GPS antenna.
Luckily for me, I still have my old IPAQ loaded with GPS software which I prefer to use for navigation anyway thanks to its significantly bigger screen

Glad to here you have a resolution (albeit a partial one).
Just one thing, why would you want to connect to an external BT GPS at the same time as your car kit? Can't you get a good enough signal on the internal GPS or is there another reason?

Yes, that's what I wrote in my post above. This antiradiation coating is a real satellite signal killer...
But, IMO, Kaiser's screen is too small for in-car navigation anyway, so having a dedicated unit is always a plus

Yes I agree the screen is too small for general use. I have a dedicated GPS in the car and only use the TyTnII as a temporary routefinder whenever needed.

I use the Sony MEX-BT2500 - it's brilliant, no problems at all. Pick one up on ebay for around £80, you'll be amazed. They did have them in Halfords a while ago too. You wont have any issues with either unit you've mentioned.
I also have a Holux GPS GR-239 for SatNav, and this pairs up fine at the same time, as does other devices I've tried, so no worries for you, I'm sure.

Motorola t 505 - Google it. I bought this a couple of months ago and it is the best FM Transmitter I have ever used. The signal is so strong that I hardley ever hear any static, even if I am streaming to a live radio station. I use mine every day as I am always on the road for my job - average 5 hours a day connected through bluetooth and streaming music from my phone to my stereo using the FM transmitter and only have to charge the thing once a week. This is the best one I have found so far and I have tried dozens of different ones.
Also - No interferance from the phone when you get a call unlike many of the other FM Transmitters I have tried - (NO Buzzing at all like you can sometimes get when phone call comes through when your phone is near a speaker or using a cheap fm transmitter) I use mine with my HTC Touch and Love it.
This would be strictly for your car though so if you are looking for headset to use out of the car as well, I guess this won't help.
I jsut realized you were talking head unit but you still might be interested in this product as it may save you money rather then buying a new stereo - Unless your current stereo really sucks, then happy shopping and I hope you find what you are looking for.
Before I bought mine, I was able to test it and make sure it worked well with my phone - Which it did - If you are able to convince them to let you pair it with your device and test how well it works, I would suggest you do just to make sure you will be satisfied with your purchase.

I don't need to stream from the phone now I can use USB sticks and the HF phone works great.
Hello everyone...sorry for bothering, but I'm so frustrated that I'm about to scream...I really need some help here.
I have an AT&T Tilt (Kaiser) running their standard ROM. I just bought a Motorola H780 bluetooth headset for it. The salesperson said that he knew of some people who connected this model to their Tilts and was able to listen to music through it...and even on earpiece box it says that the H780 supports both the Hands Free and Headset profiles. However, I have not been able to accomplish this: it pairs for normal use (phone calls, etc), but nothing else. The "wireless headset" option is greyed out for me; the earpiece only gives me the option to connect using "Hands Free" profile.
I have looked...and looked...and looked for how to do this. The best I found from Google was for people who have Windows Mobile 5 (I have 6)...and even so, I tried a couple of those registry tweaks. On here, I keep running into countless forums that tell you, not how to enable A2DP, but how to improve it (using modified bitpool value in the registry, etc). Can SOMEBODY PLEASE tell me how in the world to get this working? I would really appreciate it...THANKS!

and then when my bluetooth is on the the headset is on i then go to this program and double click it and it puts another icon by the bluetooth icon and i get sound that way for my music and also calls still come threw too. I am not saying this is the right way but it works great for me...

all audio will get directed to it, im, e-mail, meeting announcements.
I had a sony headset model, with 12 talk time, nice because it will eat your battery while on ( tilt and headsets rated for talktime will apply to this ) . my plantronics only does 4 hours, so at lunch or when not in use I charge it and phone via usb cable.
I am in IT and most peaple are ok with me wearing bt headset (plantronics 655) and write me off on the gadget side when I wear it 24/7. In reality I listen to music (10% volume on audiomanager) all day (literally) from my 8 gig card.
I have streaming and resco radio, and podcasts. Mostly I converted my common mp3s to wma to have more on the phone and high audio cd quality is not to be expected over bluetooth. The right rom and radio are very helpful and the ability to tun off screen but still play music are all important or battery will suffer even more. using the stock rom and radio will work, just not a good balance team.
duttys roms and a few others had it included btw. I found a way to use audiomanager 1.2 on the new roms with 1 registry setting change to allow suspend mode.
I use a very simple version of it. I attached it because, I searched a bit to find a link, (still recommended for education on the subject) but didn't find it or in the chefs and mods downloads either.

Blinkste21957, I tried your solution and it didn't work...for some reason, it saw my headset as being "unusable" (my term) with regards to headset mode. I don't quite know why; my headset clearly says on the box that it is. (Motorola H780). This is why I think that there must be something missing on my phone that will enable the "headset" option for my earpiece.
Acehole, I tried your solution a while back...but it was with the 8525, not the tilt, and with my (previous) plantronics headset. I was less-than-impressed with the problems I had to deal with last time...but I could give it a whirl again with this phone/headset and see what happens.
If anyone knows of anything else I'm missing in terms of "activating" the headset capabilities of my phone (which I thought was supposed to have A2DP), let me know. I'm just very puzzled why, for an earpiece that supports headset mode, my phone would have that option unavailable.
Actually, I think that it is the phone and not the headset. When I had a nokia I was able to listen to music via my bluetooth with no issues. The tilt will not allow you to do this without the use of a third party application. The following is what many people have used and are using as a work around. BTAudio, BlueMusic, A2DPToggle. Tech soft makes BlueMusic and the A2DPToggle and can be found here: http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=products. Unless one of the bright developers here on XDA takes this on, I fear that it will never truly be resolved.

Someone on here recommended the Sony DR-BT22 some time ago. I bought a pair and they link up and sound is impressive on the Tilt with Windows 6.1

I can also control forward and reverse functions of the player with them too.
Bluetooth - especially compatibility - is still one temperamental beast! My car's built-in hand-free made me and the poor guy from AT&T a believer. They can plaster A2DP, HSF, HDP, ESP, JMDP, whatever on the box and it it means squat as to whether it will work or not. Only ones that do are manufacturer-to-manufacturer....sometimes.

If you have WM 6.1, and if you have a headset with the A2DP profile (NOTE this is not the same as the "headset" profile) then you can listen to music without any problem. If you don't have both, then you need to mess with the software add-ons mentioned earlier in this thread .
As for me, I got the excellent Jabra BT8040 and it works great with My Kaiser with stock 6.1. Only about $30 too.

I am looking for something that does not seem to exist. I registered here in hopes that the brilliant minds of XDA might be able to offer me a solution.
I want Bluetooth hands-free calling on my desktop PC.
Let me explain: I work in my garage. I use my garage PC as my only music source. I use it for email and web stuff too, of course, but its main job is providing a streaming source for music from the server in my house.
When I am working and my phone rings, I cannot hear my phone. Tablesaws and routers and sanders are noisy, and the music is blasting.
What I want is the same thing my $200 car stereo does: mute or pause the music and announce the caller ID through my speakers. When I am done with the call, resume the music.
Seems simple, doesn't it? I have been googling this for quite some time. No answers anywhere, it seems.
If/when I push the button to answer, I want to use a microphone and my speakers to talk on the phone...simple as that. Yes, I know, there are a hundred ways of doing this other than my PC (stream to tablet, BT to tab, tablet to stereo, etc.) but nothing is going to live very long in all this sawdust (including my PC, but I don't care) so the goal is to have to buy nothing but a BT dongle and some software.
So...since I work on stereo stuff for a living, the stuff you guys do is a complete mystery to me, but I know what I want.
Does anyone know of an app that does this? If not, it seems to me that this would be a fairly marketable thing, does anyone have an interest in developing this?

well if you plug your phone into the speakers and play music of it like Pandora or even download your own music. Then when you get a call the music will stop and your ring-tone will play through the speakers till you pick up the call or miss the call.

Yes this is true, there are no cross platforms apps that really do what you want. This will happen probably in the next years it has to do with getting the platforms to work together.
I looked into this a couple of months ago, I did find a work around if you want to operate in linux........ then you can get the phone and computer to work together but then you are doing your own custom programming...... and you just want an app sounds like you do not want to be the programmer
Maybe someone else knows more and chime in............

Guys, my phone is a POS, ain't gonna go there at all. Samsung Instinct S30, until I find what I need a phone to do I am not giving up any money at all.
I know I can connect a cell phone to a PC with nothing but a simple BT dongle, but getting it to pause the music is the tough part.
Maybe I will just get another JVC KD-R900 and use it for shop tunes. I could run the shop stereo from it, just use the AUX in on the JVC from the PC.
Oddly enough, I listen to full albums, often several from the same artist, so I have no use for broadcast radio, nor sattelite or internet radio, just full CDs on my hard drive.

Hmm... I have just done something similar with my phone.
Here's the setup:
You'll need:
1. A hi-fi system
2. An Android phone (any would do, but some of the apps in Andriod is critical)
3. 16-32gb sd-card
4. Bluetooth dongle for answering phones
Plug your phone into the hifi using the stereo sound jack, and plug your phone into the charger. Play music straight from the phone, and when it rings, you can set certain music apps to mute the music while letting the ringtone through. I'm quite sure that the default music app from el Goog, does that well.
My gut tells me this maybe a lollipop issue in general.

*Call is no longer on my Bluetooth earpiece
This can happen too when email / SMS arrives. I read about a lot of car BT based issues...this is just in the headset now.
Anyone out there feeling this too?

This can happen too when email / SMS arrives. I read about a lot of car BT based issues...this is just in the headset now.

Not many people use BT in their car or daily life at this point in time. Can't tell you how many people I see driving around with a phone in one hand and a steering wheel in the other. Kind of like people here in the USA that don't use cruise control on the highway when clearly you know that their car has it. But I've been hands free in cars for over six years in fact since the HTC HD2 came out. I realized at that point, that to be safe one must use BT and have equipment in car to support this. It's becoming a law in most states in the USA but not all and is not enforced by law as much as it should be, but those times are going to change. There are some forums on the web that talk about bluetooth in lollipop and many of them are confused and think they know what the problem is, but none have proved it yet. There are also other sources that claim BT is on it's way out, I don't know about that. But yes, there are some weird things happening with bluetooth if you use it a lot. I don't know what the answer may be to your problem but you might want to try a search on google to find out more information about this issue. Good luck.

Back to the point though; anyone out there having these types of specific challenges with Bluetooth on the N6 as I described above? It really makes this phone unusable for me @ work.
Yes, I also use BT in my vehicle. It used to connect through my car speakers automatically, but now im finding that when making/receiving a call, I need to manually tell it to switch to car speakers. I mean, why the hell would my car speakers stop playing regular radio when a call comes in and to make me still use my handset to talk/listen?having to manually switch to car speakers is dangerouse while on the freeway.

I was experiencing something similar.
I had a 2009 model Pioneer AVIC-x910BT headunit in my truck. And bluetooth worked fine until I got my Nexus 6 (coming from a Nexus 5 and Nexus 4). The Nexus 6 would mute my car audio properly, but when I picked up the phone, the phonecall was on the phone and not the car speakers.
I have the same car, but now I have a 2015 model Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX with Android Auto, and have not had one BT issue yet. I am assuming that the issue was either the N6 or Lollipop5.0 was having issues with the older BT technology my old radio used. Now that I have the newer radio, no call issues yet.

Could you share the model and make or the car?
to confirm my understanding,the call audio was on phone speaker and you had to manually select the it every time?
Was this working in the past for you?
Does this happen for every call or only during multiparty call?
I am now using a different BT headset, Jabra, and the model is at least a year old. I think I am going to look for a completely new model of bluetooth headset / earpiece that came on the market much more recently and see if this makes a difference.
I have been using a wired headset to avoid these challenges, but very much miss hands free use for phone calls. Anyone else feeling this issue out there?

It has happened to me as well. I use a Jabra Tour BT speakerphone, while having music streamed via a BB BT gateway to my car speakers When on the phone and another call / sms /email comes in, the phone connection to Jabra Tour is dropped, I have to manually reconnect (but after reconnecting to Jabra the phone call ends, somehow the media stream switches from BB gateway to Jabra = more manual switching). Unsafe to be doing this on a highway. My Galaxy Note 3 and prior to that Galaxy S3 worked perfectly well with the same setup.
I understand that Nexus 6 takes advantage of the new BT tech, but it should have been made backwards compatible with the older BT devices.
