4) Device auto powers-up, push email, no pin code set
For me it seems to be the pin code- I had power ups in situations 2 & 3- pin code set, push e-mail either on or off.
Even with push setup, however, if I turn off the pincode lock, I get no more powerups.
Now I need to decide whether to live with the powerups or go without security.
Crappy choice, so I'm hoping a solution is found! ;-)

I followed my company IT's instruction, download the OTA setup, and input my mail address and PIN. After restart goodlink downloaded IT policy. Then the policy force me to add an lock password, but every time goodlink locked my PDA it will nevery let me use it........
I clicked "unlock" input my password, it shows my desktop, but the task bar will be never unlocked, so I can not load any application any more. And if I start an application from desktop it will can not be closed becaused "x" button can not be clicked even I use the hard button on the phone.
Any solution for this issue?
Thanks
Does goodlink offer lockdown policies from the server side? We used it at my work but just for email and IT didn't lock it down.
I would guess that they have a mechanism for preventing users toying with the phone once it's installed and is managed by your IT group.
Policy
We use goodlink where I work and we have no problems but we don't use the goodlink "policies". Some work places like to lock down phones once they contain corporate emails - even if it is your personal phone. Have your IT admin look at the policies they are assigning to your goodlink account and remove them if possible (if your work security policy allows it).
I have an acoount on windowsmail.com, and direct push works well, and
I theoretically can turn it off in comunication menu, but....
when any intrenet data come to the phone (like weather update or quickgps), mail is synchronised.
Is there any way tu turn direct push easy and permanently, or every time i want to have no mail synchro i need to turn off synchronization in settings of windowsmail inbox?
No experience with MS push mail, so an 'educated guess'. ActiveSync is loaded continuously and tries to synchronize automatically in the standard settings. Maybe it works if you put that to 'manual' in the ActiveSync 'schedule' menu. It also contains the option to synchronize on 'new item arrival' (is this a form of direct push?), '5 min', '10 min', etc.
I have this email app on my phone. Its just called "Email." I can setup other email accounts to the combined inbox. But, how do I set it up?
It first asks for email address and password and if I want Push Enabled, then I hit next. What is push enabled? I select enable but then a popup says, do you relaly want this enabled? It will take tons of battery and it can't be undone.
Anyways next there is an option for either POP3 or IMAP4. Whats that?
I hit next on default IMAP4 just to move on. Then I get fields I have to fill out for Incoming Server and Port Number. The port number is already set at 143. What is this stuff? They also ask for what Secure Type I want, Off, SSL, or TLS.
I didn't go farther.
After upgrading to Android 6 and doing a factory wipe on my Nexus 6 it now requires me to use pin or pass locks so that I can add my exchange email accounts. I never like this as I am always checking my phone so to keep entering a pin is a pain. If I go into Device Administrators I can disable email but it deleted the email accounts.
Is there anyway I can disable/remove the use of a pin to unlock the phone but still have my exchange email accounts? Why has this suddenly changed in Android 6, it wasn't a requirement when I was running Lollipop?
Turn on Smart Lock either with a bluetooth connection or a location.
I can't, smart lock is greyed out

It is a requirement set by who ever runs your Exchange system, that is what I do for a living. Why you didn't see in on lollipop I can't answer, perhaps they just turned it on in Exchange. But that seems like a heck of a coincidence that they did it at the same time you upgraded. Maybe you set it up before they added the requirement and your phone didn't see the change until you wiped it and reset it up. That would surprise me to. Dunno.
What I do is I use the Nine email app for my Exchange account, it allows you to set the Exchange pin requirement to just that app. It is also much better on battery than using the Gmail app.
I run the mail server so I can tell you that I know for sure I didn't change anything on it. The mail server is Kerio Connect not Exchange by Microsoft. That's really odd if you say it is the server which sets that security policy because as I said until I upgraded I didn't have to use a pin

Check the settings for the ActiveSync policy in Kerio and see if it is turned on. I just tested my Exchange server with 6. If I turn it off in Exchange the phone does not require a pin/password. As soon as I turn it back on it requires one.

I've checked the settings and there is nothing enabled. I tried installing Nine and it worked fine without a pin but my trial has now ended and I don't want to have to pay for an app that I didn't use to need
Set a simple pattern lock in Settings > Security. Then set the Automatically lock to 30 minutes and turn off Power button instantly locks. Go into Smartlock and add a trusted device, like bluetooth headset, smartwatch, or other bt device. And/or add one or more trusted places. If in a trusted place or using a trusted device, you won't have to unlock. Also, it won't lock for 30 minutes after you unlock it if you have had to. These steps have allowed me to almost never have to unlock with my pattern.
Is anyone on here familiar with bitwarden? I just recently imported over 50 different passwords and logins into the app. And I was able to use my face unlock to secure it.
Maybe I read this incorrectly, but I heard somewhere on Reddit that you can use face unlock to bypass the auto-fill.
So for example, when using a bank app that doesn't support face unlock instead of autofill you can substitute it with face unlock through bitwarden. Is that correct or is there a way to do that? Scotiabank does support face unlock so that's been great but TD Bank does not. And I was hoping I could use this bitwarden trick to make use of the face unlock.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure what you mean by "bypass autofill", but Bitwarden works great for this (so does LastPass, BTW).
When you open your banking (or whatever...) app, just tap in the username or password field. You should see a prompt to "autofill with Bitwarden"; tap that. Then assuming you've set up Bitwarden face unlock, you'll be able to unlock the vault with your face and Bitwarden will show you the list of matching logins; just tap one and it will autofill the username/password.
Some one-time setup for each login might be needed, in particular if the URI saved in Bitwarden is the website URL and android app's package name does not match the website. In those cases, choose "autofill and save" to remember the association after searching for the login.

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. What I meant by bypass was essentially when the pop up to autofill shows up. I was hoping to click on the pop up and then it would go to the face unlock once that was done it would automatically input the information and log me in I was hoping to avoid that other step of having to find the correct login in the vault. Is there a way to do that?
Because with Scotiabank supporting face recognition all I have to do when I open the app is click on use face unlock and it just prompted in automatically unlocks my banking app. sometimes I don't even have to push a button the face unlock automatically shows up when the app is opened.

It's not as seamless as when app the app supports face unlock directly. But it should still only be one or two taps. There are three possible scenarios:
If the login is not yet associated with the app: you'll have to search for the login, or it may pop up as a suggestion. This should only happen once; after you choose "Yes, and Save", the association will be saved
After the login is associated, if your vault is locked at the moment: two taps: first tap to "go to my vault", which will do the face recognition, second tap will be on the associated login which will automatically pop up
After the login is associated, if your vault is unlocked at the moment (e.g. because you just used it a few minutes ago): one tap: the name of the login will pop up by the username/password field with Android's autofill support, you just need to tap it.
