Hi all,
I can find loads of stuff on MP3 format music and in particular setting as ring tones but not MP4.
I can download and play MP4 but don't get given an option that I can see to set the files as ringtones?
Any ideas?
Maybe hat because wm5 doesnt support that format natively....
Yup, convert them to some compatible format.

TCPMP problem
I use the TCPMP app to play AVI files with no problems. I downloaded a podcast (MP4) but TCPMP says that this codec was removed. Tried with the WM player and it also does not read the format. I can convert the MP4 files to AVI format but it's a pain to do so.
Does anyone know how to put the codec back into TCPMP?

you could try the retail version of TCPMP... COREPLAYER.
It is still under development, even if it's already available to consumers, so the features aren't complete yet compared to TCPMP...
If you still want to use TCPMP, I would suggest looking for the AVC plugin for it...
The filename I think is AVC.plg. Don't know where to find it though...
The codec was removed because of license issues, you can download it from certain sites and put it back, but it's against the law to do so.
I'm using Sompy MovieEncoder it's work pretty good and it's free. It's compress 750 mb video file to about 150 mb. You can get it from download.com under mobile section

Hi!
I've recorded video file with kaiser in Mpeg4 format, then I transfered to PC, but cannot play back with WMP. Then I tried with VLC player, it can work but no sound.
Should I convert the file to some other format to get sound? Anyone experienced the same problem?

I tried to play a movie (.avi file) with windows media player on the diamond but it doesnt work. Which format must the movie have to play with windows media player? Is there other good programs beside coreplayer mobile? I dont want to buy coreplayer, do i have to install a codec on the diamond?
Do i have to convert to a special format, i transfered a movie sample file (.avi) from my computer to the diamonds internal memory but when i try to open the movie with windows media player, it doesnt work, what should i do?

Try the previous version of Coreplayer, TCPMP. It's freeware.
use TCPMP, theres a speical version of it for WM6.1 devices, plays any file format you throw at it and super smooth with more options than you can shake a stick at!
oh, and its FREE!

Agree. Hands down best media player. Smooth as it gets!
Thanks for your help i will try TCPMP, but should i just transfer the movie to diamond and then open it with TCPMP?
Yes it works now, how do i zoom in with TCPMP to remove the two black lines that are often in movies or do i have to somehow change the resoultion of the movie so it fits the screen?
when you install TCPMP you can set file assosiations so you can just click on the file itself to play, but of corse you can also go the long way around and open TCPMP first

yes, i use ImTOO Mpeg encoder to change resoloutions, i personally find that encoding files to .mpeg at 500 bit rate and 320x240 does a perfect job for me, doesnt take up much space on the internal storage and you dont notice any loss of quality playing it at full screen
i tried the TCPMP player.. although its good and convinent but it still can't play some .flv files downloaded from the internet, and the interface wasn't as perfect/ pretty.
I took on a more hassle approach. Downloaded PSPVC (a freeware that is able to convert most types of movie files into mp4 format) converted my movie files into mp4 format and then play them using the default windows media player 10. Works perfectly!
PlugIn FLV pour TCPMP

Hi, All my music is in wma format. I copied about 5 albums to my g1 last night but only one of them has been found (in albums). The info about wma format on android is a bit ambiguous and I don't really understand why one album has been found (which is wma format like all the others).
Could someone please clarify the situation. Is there any way to get all the wma tracks to be recognised?
Here are the available formats: MP3, M4A (iTunes application AAC, DRM-free), AMR, WMA(8), MIDI, WAV, OGG Vorbis.
Also seems that you can listen to WMA(8) but you can't set them as notifications/ringtones... Was it converted as WMA8?
I'm personally not a massive fan of WMA, but why not convert the originals into .ogg instead? dbpoweramp music converter does it very well.
I had this issue the other day but all mine are .mp3's. What I had to do was go to settings > applications > manage applications and go to your music app and clear the data. Did that then it displayed everything again.
Whats the best video convertor to convert .avi files so that I can play them on my Hero OK & what format do I convert them to?
Have Video Player & Meridian installed to play them on.
Have searched, but just wondered what people found to be the best?
Thanks in advance.
