The Qtek RUU (2.17) is what I use on my Cingular 8125 (same as Dopod 838) so I imagine you should be good to go.

Why change keyboard code? It's not for same keyboard layout support? Is KJam better support 838 than Qtek? thanks
I was in Shanghai last week and picked up a Qtek 9100 that had a CHS rom on it. I didn't need a CHS device anymore so I flashed the QTEK with the latest Wizard/Cingular WWE ROM and it works fine. You should be able to go to the ftp site and download the latest QTEK 9100 WWE ROM that is posted and you should be good to go.

there are many roms that work on the mda vario for ext ive had the best experience with the cingular rom from summiter but you could go for any of them
yeah I was a beginner an I am now advance user of HTC wizard. And I have now problem with extROM. I can`t write there :-(.. I was use unlockextrom.ceb and it was unlock extrom to Look an I need unlocke it for write.. On ROM 1.5.x WWE it was posibble and now it isn`t yet .. Is it any way for write to extROM on HTC wizard? My friend asked me to change UI language on his T-Mobile MDA Vario III from german to english. I think that I have to "upgrade" it to HTC WWE rom? The problem is that I cannot download rom upgrade from HTC.com, because this is T-Mobile device, and I don't have "HTC" S/N. But there is already some HTC rom in device:

I've used hardSPL and HTC WWE rom update:

First of all, sorry for my english....
My mobile is a SPV M3000 by Orange France (Qtek 9100).
It was on WM5 but I wanted to upgrade it to WM6, I realize that it was a bad idea...
I tried some roms and tuto but it not succeed and it's blocked on an english rom WM5 and my sim card is not recognized....
When the mobile boot, the informations are IPL 1.01 and SPL 1.01.0000.
Could you give me some ways to resolve it please ? I want to get a valid french official rom under WM5.

You can only upgrade to any wm6 rom if your phone is CID unlocked.No official carrier's website offers wm6 upgrade,so you can only upgrade to wm6 with custom build wm6 rom and for that the phone must be first SIM/CID unlocked.
As,its already having IPL/SPL 1.xx,just download the lokiwiz02b tool and follow the instructions posted at the lokiwiz thread and perform the method to SIM/CID unlock it or you can also download and use WST_4.2.2 tool to get this.Only after getting it SIM/CID unlock,it'll be possible to upgrade to any wm6 or wm6.1 rom.
Secondly,if you only want a French rom,then download the official wm5 French rom from your carrier's site 'Orange France' and flash it to recover back to its default status.

In fact, my Qtek was in "Data Crashes" so with the tuto by mestrini abd his tool WST, that's work again !!!!!!

Use lokiwiz0.2b to do CID unlock and SIM unlock.You can find it in this forum by search.
After that you can flash it with WWE ROM to make it english.

I recommend it because it has SPL 2.06 too and you can flash cooked ROMs also,if you need it later.There are some problems with higher SPL on some devices.
