WM6 HTC_Charmer Works

Okay I wanted to Apologize to everyone, It took some time to get my device flashed to WM6 and it’s know where I wanted. The only difference I did is not allowing the extrom to customize with HR.
No need to put any guide out if you read the forums you will get wm6 working.

Your charmer is just the same as with mine.
I think it is just setup problem why you can not connect to GPRS.
I have flashed a TouchFlo version WM6 to my charmer (WWE version), it works well.

that you cannot flash wm6 does not mean others can't, so please stop shouting "wm6 does not work".
many people are using it - and many people are satisfied with it - imho this is proving that WM6 works. most of this people ha CIDs locked devices - and they have no problems. I don't khow why you have yor problems, but you have just few possibilities:
1) you are lazy to read forums and finding solutions, or
2) you do not understand what are you reading about or
3) you are using some really old radio and this may be the negative effect, or
4) your charmer is somehow damaged machine, bad memmory blocks or stuff like that
Remember, that charmer is just one, there are no variants, no different generations. All your problems are pointing to something, that must be completely different from others. Focus on radio at first...you have the old one (the same I have - mine works fine)
Another thing that may affect the gameplay is your computer - try to flash from another one. There are no more possibilities.

it means JUST that your device is CID locked

Unlock your phone and you will never brick it. If you are rather buying new machine than finding solutions, get rid of WM devices, buy Nokia and leave us alone.

mentioned 1000 times in this forum...I cannot believe that somebody can still ask this...

The purpose of my thread was not to attack anyone. I think the information and effort here is very good and all the people like yourself and others developers are doing an outstanding job!
When you try and try and fail, I know it’s frustrating and some of us continue to try. I know I’m not done trying; I still want to be able to have my Charmer to operate under WM6.
I want to make it clear to everyone; I did take my time to read all the forums.
(PLEAES READ FORUMS PPL)
I’m not saying don’t try upgrading, (PLEASE DO TRY!) and don’t give up, take a break to clear your head and find other means to your goal.
All I’m giving is a caution. I flashed my device with out taking my time to go thru the step’s and it crashed. Lucky the T-mobile Company replaced it because my contract is not up!!!!
And lasting thing before I go, I’m not attacking anyone this is General for all!!! I thought forums were for discussions purpose and to help each other find solutions. So when I put information out here, it’s to see if anyone had same issues and maybe give me a some idea to resolve.

Touchflo version sounds good. Where, where, where!!!!!

People, please do not get so excited about that touchFLO. Firstly, it doesnt work as it should. You have to press softkey to launch it first. Secondly its slow and inconvenient.
And thirdly, happy to hear that Ulymanchild finally got the wm6 issue sorted out

vlodeck, have you tried the Wizard versions then?
I just like to try new things out, if I didn't i would still be on my original T-Mobile wm5 rom.

Yes, I agree with you strongly. I don not think using TouchFLO is a good way to operate my charmer. I flashed it and tried it, but I will not use it again but show it to others.

Vlodeck, I wanted to thank you for those kinds words also, I wanted to put out that it was allot easier for me to bootload essential v.002 by extracting the nk.nbf and placed it on 000.4. I think the trick was nb2nbf_wizard.
Oh and I was able to cid unlock with Lokiwiz03 after I flashed to wm6 YOU GUY’s ARE THE BEST!

Some questions

After installing the HTC Toupad on my Kaiser, I have experienced big problems. Letters on the Keyboard (QWASYX) didn't work and even the onscreen keyboard didn't recognized these letters. So I decided to uninstall the application. But now I have other problems with my Kaiser and so I decided to Hardreset my device. But before I do this, I want to upgrade my Kaiser to WM6.1 and update it to the newest ROM/Radio.
Now I have some questions relating to that.
As a result that I am a Super Moderator in another forum I know that it is bugging if people don't read the Wiki/FAQs. I have read them, but I don't understand many things :-|
I have handled it to unlock my device, but when I was reading about updating to WM6.1, I saw only things like: "... works only with 6.1", update this, update that, and I don't know in which order.
First of all: Could anyone explain me how to update my Kaiser to WM6.1 and the newest Radio?
Secondly: What is this Duty FW? Is it a modified Rom with added apps?
Finally: I have a normal Kaiser. Not a Vario III, AT&T or something like that. Just the austrian version of the Kaiser with no brandings and so it would be good to have a Firmware without any brandings.

The letter problem you were having was a simple fix with a cab that can be found all across this forum. All the ROM's can be found in the ROM Development forum and as far as what has been changed, modified, added, programs list, can all be found in the FIRST or SECOND post of each of the ROM's. So you will just have to read through them and find one that suits you best as they all have something different. Most of the radio's that can only be used on 6.1 ROM's will say "Will only work on 6.1 ROM's". And I would like to add even though you don't have at&t DON'T FLASH THE 1.65.17.10 RADIO.

You need to make sure before you flash a rom on to your kaiser that you flash hardspl - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679, and than after successfully installing that you can flash the rom of your choice. Please read the first sticky thread under the kiaser rom development form - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=369282; it has all the info you need pretaining to everything involved when it comes to flashing your kaiser. I strongly recommend you go through it and read the posts it points to that are relevant to flashing.
Once you have done that it is pretty simple process; just do yourself the huge favor and don't flash until you have flashed hardspl or you will brick your phone.

Why shouldn't I flash THE 1.65.17.10 RADIO?

Some ROM's come with radio's some don't. Most of Dutty's ROM's come with radio's, but if you want to keep your radio then I would suggest finding a ROM without a radio in it or making sure yours is compatible with the WM 6.1 and reflash it back. The 1.65.17.10 radio will lock your phone to that radio only and you will not be able to change it until somebody can fix it. Alot of people are stuck with that radio now and can't change.

I know enough to know i need to flash the ROM to an english one. But can someone kinda spoon feed me and give the link to the ROM i need. I am getting kinda lost on which rom i should flash with.
I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO READ MY PHONE...IN ENGLISH (I dont speak a word of german!) LOL!

You should search this forum better to know that you will need the (unsigned) hard SPL to flash to a WWE ROM if you have a German ROM at this moment.
Look under ROM development for the Hard SPL...

Sorry for asking what may seem simple questions to you more experianced guys it just i dont even know what a "hard SLP" even is...i just want my phone to me in english.

For christ sake man... if you have manged to flash the Hard SPL, you apparently have read the explanation. That also says what hard SPL is... it is not a ROM. So you're probably still using the same ROM, and not the WWE ROM.
No pun intended, but you should seriously try a bit harder yourself.

Just a thought, but if you do a hard reset, won't it ask when you first start the phone what language you want for the interface?

I did take the SPL file and copied it to the device as instructed. But still german.
Just a thought, but if you do a hard reset, won't it ask when you first start the phone what language you want for the interface?

No i did not get the option at all when restarting the device.
So.......205_lacoste....tell me i am a retard again I still have no clue! I know i could spend the next three days studing all this tech **** and understand it ... but i am to busy and I dont really want to spend the time learning all this stuff, so i dont ask dumb questions. And to be honest i dont really want to know all this stuff i just want my phone in english. So i spent a few hours on it and then couldnt work it out, and posted a thread. I thought that was fair.
If anyone would like to offer suggestions, please do.

If you want to use official ROM in English, you have to change the code into German one. Then you can download English ROM. Your Diamond accepts only German ROM now.

download this:

1) Download, extract to an empty folder.
2) Run RomUpdateUtility.exe, Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile
3) follow steps, check device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.

some advice i want to give you:
- you'll have to know what you're doing, since you can transform your device in a 500€ piece of crap, so
- try to learn some german. it would be a nice start to let somebody explain your device.

Don't mean to be 'evil', but it bothers me that people are usually too lazy to find things out themselves, while the information is available.
The ROMs are officially not interchangeable between area's, that's why you could not flash the WWE ROM. The unsigned hard SPL is not a ROM (does not contain an Operating System), but it is a replacement for the (I think it is called) bootloader and it doesn't include the area lock. So with the current Hard SPL you are able to flash the WWE ROM you've tried earlier. Then all will be in English.
So all you have to do now is to run the WWE .exe file, and flash as normal.

but he asked to flash nike / touch dual rom ... thats just wrong.

Got a New Diamond. Where to start ?

So I just got my new Diamond (Hong Kong traditional chinese version), version below:
ROM: 1.37.832.4 CHT
Date: 06/23/08
Radio: 1.00.25.03
Protocol: 52.26a.25.09H
I wanted to get the most out of the little phone. What tweaks and fixes I need to do to get to everyone elses "standard" ? Such as updating, changing the language to english, some kind of ways to backup my old ROM, speed fix on the menus and navigation, tweaks on longer battery life Also tell me if there is more needed.
Can anyone tell me where to get those stuff (Or if those things exists) ? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey, I am new to this and I don't have the slight understanding of how these things work. That is why I'm asking for help. I wouldn't want to install the wrong things and kill my diamond (It happened before with my PSP =/).
But thank you for answering. Is updating the rom and radio all I need ?

Ouch, harssshhh.
To the original postah... Search for "Diamond Tweaks", should be a sticky in this forum. Those should help a lot for the performance of your Diamond. You CAN flash a new ROM and radio (make sure to Hard SPL first, search on how to do that!) but it's not necessary and taking a risk... Not a very big one, but devices have been turned to paperweights from flashing messups many times. To keep it basic use those Diamond Tweaks, start your device off right with Schaps Advanced Configuration tool (www.touchxperience.com) and TF3D Config, maybe Diamond Tweak (a program called that, searchsearchsearch) as well. To get a registry editor you can also go to touchxperience.com, you'll need that for most of the tweaks. Now go, go, go!

...better? They are newer; look: Just like in Windows XP Microsoft also generates new builds of windows mobile. Also HTC does this with his own applications. The cookers always takes the newest builtds and gave us the great roms!

Just look at it like this, cooked roms are customized by people on here that want better performance, the official roms are what HTC puts out to try and make it work for everyone. If you find a cooked rom that works for your needs, it's likely to be better because it doesn't include all of the stuff that doesn't interest you. Better yet, you could cook your own rom if you really want to, look for a tutorial on it. Not incredibly difficult, just takes some time to learn. (This is my perception of it, I've never cooked a rom myself but it doesn't seem so impossible)

Thank you guys, I chose the SwiftBL for the Rom since it have just what I need and much more.
But I have another question about the Radio Rom. I have the Radio version 1.00.25.03 and I wanted to ask do I need to update/change it ? If it's not necessary, can I skip this step and just update my Rom and not the Radio ?

yeah, just look around at the different tutorial on here, and it should help you to better understand it. I just got my diamond last week, and i can't believe how much i can change on this phone compared to my old S60 v3 phone...

I wouldn't change the radio unless you have issues with reception... But that's me, I'm very conservative compared to most on here when it comes to flashing/changing major aspects of the phone.

I have completed the flashing the Rom and Radio on my Diamond and thank god it didn't brick.
Everything is done now so thank you guys very much for everything.

Help camera doesnt work

Hi im from mexico(my english sucks) and i have an atyt tilt i unlocked to can use in my country but since i unlocked the camera doesnt works ,when i open the camera app i can see all the menu and options but is just black i mean you cant take pictures because all is black anyone know what can be?
The info of the bootloader or whatever is.

Not only the radio (although I've not seen that version before) but more importantly the version of hardSPL used is for WinMo 6.0 and NOT WinMo 6.1 ROMs. A ROM that starts with 3. something is a WM 6.1 ROM. Altogether a real hotchpotch mixture. The OP needs to carefully check to make sure all the ingredients match up if the recipe is to succeed! Just realised it's the OPs first post so he or she may want to read the wiki (the link near the top of the page) about all of this stuff to get the gist before taking any further steps.

Well now im confused my titl have windows mobile 6.1 and i unloked with the kaiserunlocker and i thinkk ive read thatit can be used on 6.1 sooo anyway how i can get the phone unlocked and all functional??? i need to change the rom or radio or what i need to do ?? thanx

Please read all of the wiki for the Kaiser and all the information about which ROMs and Radios go together (links in the Kaiser wiki). Also read up about SPLs and then get back with which specific questions you have that aren't already covered. No one is going to hold the hand of newcommers who haven't fully researched things first. A hint is that the hardSPL versions starting with 3.something are for WM 6.1 ROMs whereas hardSPL versions starting with 1.something are for WM 6.0.

However sometime even when you research and dig through the vast volumes of info you still need a little help. All this info can be a little intimidating especially when you are new to the process. then to get an answer that (No one is going to hold the hand of new commers who haven't fully researched things first.) Well that could even make that person a little more intimidated the next time he/she has a question.
I have been lurking arouind here for a while reading and digging for info on different roms, radios, themes. I have flashed a few roms now and still have questions but am not sure I should ask them because some where in this massive web site there might be a wiki I might have missed, and I too will become one of those noobs who get chastised by a senior member for not doing enough research.
I also have a Tilt and have flashed pda ultimate Full v15 Rom date 01/01/08 radio that is recomended by the rom 1.65.24.36. Protocol 25.94.40.06H.
I used HardSPL 3.29 with windows 6.1 I have even downloaded a few fixes for my camera that have not worked, still a black screen. But I am still trying to get it to work. other roms I have tried Duttys and hyperdragon the camera worked, but quit after a while with hyperdragon. More than likely something I did or installed to make it stop showing up on the screen. We are all unsure at some point.
Not looking for someone to hold my hand just looking for help without the frustration of someone who has been doing this for a while and thinks everyone should be as good as they are at thinking through a problem.
Not trying to step on your toes and hope you don't take this the wrong way, I have seen others with the same frustration in their answer.
