I just got Orange SPV M700, and I wanna do the sim unlock by using the HTC_Trinity_SIM_CID_Unlock_v1.
I know this tool only flash the radio rom, and I am happy with the orange official rom, so how can I only flash back the orinigal radio rom? ( can't find the orange UK official rom any where)..
or how can i extract the radio rom from dopod WWE rom update file, and just flash the radio to the M700?
see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295113
I use that rombaker and put only GSM inside. And I successfully update GSM alone. No need to reinstall other softwares.
how can you find only GSM file?
just got the GSM file~~updating now
done~~and i just update the radio with dopod new GPS-enable radio rom...great~~~
Will someone explain step by step how to do this? Maybe you can put it in the wiki.
- Where to get the necessary files
- How to run the upgrade, etc...
Maybe it's already described here and there in various posts but I suppose I am a bit thick....

I've been looking for a way to upgrade to GPS asking if just by upgrading the radio I would get GPS enabled. Is that what you are saying you got?
Would you please explain in detail wich files did you use?
What is the "dopod new GPS-enable radio rom"? just the radio? or did you upgraded the full ROM?
Thanks for info.
i did it in another post..

Any chance you could please dump your Full rom for those of us who forgot to do so ourselves? That way if anything untoward happens I'll be able to return it. (Thanks for the info on how to upgrade the Radio Rom on it's own)
I finally took the plunge and changed the radio using the process explained in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296327
(I skipped step 1 as my Trinity was not SIM-locked)
Then I edited the registry to show the GPS icon in the settings page.
Everything looks fine and my navigation software seems to find the GPS receiver but it reports an error and disconnects from the receiver. Has anybody successfully configured Wayfinder to work with the built-in GPS?
Update: can anyone who has only upgraded the radio part of the ROM confirm that this is enough to make the GPS receiver work? I have installed GPSinfo and this program doesn't seem to get any data from the receiver. Maybe upgrading the radio part only is just a waste of time?
I've updated only the radio rom but it seems nothing has changed!!!
of course, updated the radio rom only got a better phone and gps connectivity...

It will work on your Italian trinity too and regardless of version number. You can use the same or another it doesn't matter. That version number is used only by the upgrade program, the radio version will be reported according to what radio.nb you have used; if you use the dopod rom it will be 1.35.00.11

Which file is corrupt?
I downloaded it from here:
http://www.telecom.co.nz/content/0,3900,202143-203139,00.html
Then I had to do a couple of modifications to get it to flash using the magician patched flasher.
However, although it worked correctly with the Sprint EV-DO PRL for voice calls, the data connection was hosed.
It has some sort of special Kiwi customization in it . The #777 connection ends up with a password, even if I try to set it up from scratch (without running anything from extrom!). I remove the password and save the changes and then it comes back... it's obviously embedded in the HA01_141 radio ROM, and thus prevents my Sprint 6600 from connecting to #777.
The good news is that the Telstra and Verizon HA01_140 Radio_ roms do work for voice and data (although roaming isn't working).

Guys, I know this isn't room for asking.... but, please help me with my Sprint 6600 Harrier.
I just upgrade the new ROM (WM6.1) to my PDA. But this is my stupidity, i installed the ROM that use for GSM device, while my device is CDMA.
How to rolled back to WM2003 or higher for may PDA. Pleade guys help me.... I've desperate for this... (
Thanks for your kindnes...
You cannot upgrade the Sprint or Verizon 6600 model to WM5 or WM6 or higher. No one has yet to be able to do it. I've tried many times. You need to flash your device back with a Sprint PPC6600 ROM. The GSM ROMs are not compatible with your GSM device.
You should be able to depress the reset button with your stylus while pushing in the power and top button on left side all at the same time (a three handed job). This will put you in Serial mode (you'll see "Serial") faintly on a blanked out screen. Then you'll hook up your phone via usb cable to your computer. Then the "Serial" will change to "USB". Then you'll click on the ROM and flash it back to your Sprint PPC ROM.
There are some hacks you can do with your Sprint PPC 6600 which greatly improve its performance. There's some great Stereo Bluetooth drivers and lots of other stuff. You can unlock the extended ROM and customize the device quite nicely. You can even modify your device to work on Sprints EVDO Rev 0 network. You'll have to search this website and the Wiki to figure it all out.
@ Rambo6: Thanks for your respon.
But, I have no WM2003 ROM to flash it back. Or i can do hack my device with stereo bluetooth and unlock the extrom for flash it back?
You need to flash back to an original ROM. You need to find a ROM for an HTC Harrier (Audiovox/Verizon xv6600 or Sprint PPC6600). UT Starcom used to have these ROMs on their website. Last time I looked they were not there. I have one of these on a harddrive somewhere.
Do some web searches and you can probably find it somewhere.
Hi all.
I have folowing device:
OS 1.3.9.4 RUS
GSM 1.13.10
ExtRom 1.1.7.105
Date 9/29/05
1. After I install GSM ver.1.13.10, i have most discharging batary (short batary-life). It' not good. :-(
Question: Can I install now ver.1.12.10 (previosly installed)?
2. I have strange problem with GSM.
Phone indicator showing good coverage zone of GSM, but incoming calls may not be received (auto response from operator voice system). Only after I calling to any phone number from my device, incoming calls will be good.
Question: Can I do something, or it's hardware problem?
3. I have strange problem with GPRS.
When I turn device ON, GPRS works OK.
But, after some time (with no changing place, where I standing), device can't connect (!) to GPRS. Soft reset -> GPRS work good. After some time -> same problem. After reset -> good work.
Question: Can I do something, or it's hardware problem?
4. Can I do full ROM backup with any software?
I would like to have a FULL BACKUP on a case of warranty service. So that I could do upgrading on mu choice, but in case of breakage of the device that I could restore a BACKUP and give device to repair without superfluous claims from service-center to insertions.
Question: What software can do that?
1. That's true, Radio 1.13.10 works bad with OS 1.3.9.4. You should downgrade it to 1.12.10, file is here:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/HTC_Wizard/Radio_Roms/
2. Try radio 1.12.10.
3. This is MTS(Moscow) problem. Still no way to fix it.
4. There is no public programm yet to backup full rom. But you can do it using SD-Card.

Also you can use aWizard 1.2, no cards.
But with aWizard, if I create a Backup I understood that I backup only the OS and not the entire ROM (tell me if I'm wrong).
The next question is: can I flash an I-Mate Rom and then (in case of need) reflash back my original ROM created with aWizard? After this I'll have a PDA like now?
3. My fried using I-Mate S110 on the same cellular provider (MTS-RUS, Moscow), and have no that problem. And I see him on ICQ (via GPRS) almost all time (24h).
I'm thinking, that problem is in the device (hard or soft).
I using GPRS versions: 1.10.0, 1.12.0, 1.13.0 and problem not resolved.
Maybe problem in OS? Or ExtROM?
Maybe I must install I-Mate ROM or T-Mobile ROM? Or something else? (what else for Q-9100-compatible?)

Had the same problem with my S100, called t-mobile. They said if you have a constant GPRS connection this problem could arrise, so you have to close your gprs connection after use. (was not the problem in my case).
Another cause according to t-mobile was, if you have phone on constantly something went wrong in the network. They advised me to switch the phone-mode off once a day. And then turn it on again so it would register again in the network. This worked for me.
hope it helps.

OK, you need to update your MDA3 to UK spec..? Assuming you're on the T-Mobile Network, you need to follow these steps..
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_1.42.00_Upgrade
More so, as you're going to get the Country Code Error (as the MDA3 thinks it's German as opposed to WWE) then you'll need to pay particular attention to the statements at the bottom of the page.. I have pasted them for you..
Wiki said:
However, if you are installing a rom on a device other than that which it is meant for, you will get a Device ID error, so follow these steps:
First Method (Quick/Easy) (TYPE II)
Download update to desktop
Unrar or unzip all files in exe or rar into a new folder
Open the folder with the extracted files
Download this file: MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP
Extract MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe from this file and place it with the other upgrade files.
Run this new exe file instead of BaUpgradeUt.exe to update your rom
If you get an error the first time, run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again without touching your device (don't take it out from the cradle, don't reset it, don't touch it at all!)

Remember, you need to be sure you know what you're doing.. Be sure you read everything on Wiki (Link in Signature) and ask yourself "Am I sure I know all the information before I press the "Update" Botton..?
Finally, you can then update your Radio (if desired) to the latest 1.15 Spec from the 1.13 seen in this ROM.. But, one step at a time, eh..?
Let us know how you get on..
Cheers!

Is there any way through mtty to erase the radio rom so it will reload when a new rom is flashed?
Haven't really seen a definite answer here to the original post...
I actually am trying to do the exact opposite of the OP.
I currently have Radio: 1.54.07.00 and am wanting to upgrade to the 1.54.30.00 but can't do it anyway I try whether it's using RUU interface or placing on a formatted SD card and changing it to CHEEIMG.nbh.
It runs through the process, and acts as if it is updating/changing the Radio Rom, but nothing changes.
Can I change my Radio or not?
Treo 750 unlocked w/ CheetahUnlocker and Running WM6.1 Full version.
Thanks for the help!
btw, I read a lot of threads and posts... and read the Heremes Radio Wiki - just can't seem to find a definitive answer. Also when I flashed the Radio after using CheetahUnlocker it flashed the Radio w/o issue.
Run through the cheetahunlocker again (all stages, regardless if they error out).
Then use the kaiserRUU to load the new radio .nbh

Thanks tmknight... you're always helpful!
cheetahunlocker won't erase all my stuff on the treo if I recall correctly, right???
i'm pretty sure it won't, but it's been a while since I used it last...
thanks again
Please, after flash any version ROM and APPLY CheetahUnlocker (WM5 or WM6) my TREO view in Setting/System/About this:
WHAT IS WRONG???
EDIT:
With flash WM5,treo is VERY SLOW.....croling,open menu etc. se this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384531
With flash WM6 all O.K
Bootloader is CRASH?
After rest treo view error services.exe, slow thumbail on images not work AS synchronize NOT WORK and many
BUGs..HELP PLEASE
The problem
As alluded to by Chaimd, that particular radio is locked and will not allow for radio flashing unless an SPL is loaded which can perform an authentication function. I'm 99% sure no one has modified a cheetah SPL to do so. Someone like pof or olipro (oh boy are they gonna kill me for this) would be familiar with problem, but unlikely inclined to work on it since they don't have this device.
I haven't seen any workable method around it. The cheetah bootloader doesn't support task 2a.
sux...

No sir. The rest of this response is merely to reach the minimum 10 character limit. meh.

Well, after many attempts - this does not work for me.
I can't even get to Step 3 of the CheetahUnlocker...it errors out after Step 2, and does not let me continue.
I read something about once you flash the 1.54.xx.xx Radio Rom you can't change it b/c the Cheetahunlocker has been able to authenticate the newer Radio roms or something like that... is that true??? It seems so, b/c I can't seem to get it to work.
any advice?
thanks again
I also have 1.54.01.00 but I don't know how i got this radio firmware, not a single internet connection on my treo is possible. No matter the version of Win Mob (6 6.1) I use, my Treo 750 just won't transfer data over either 3g or gprs. Calls / sms are possible though.
Wich rom causes to load 1.54.01.00 radio firmware on my treo 750 ? I really wanna know what i did wrong.
Well for everyone that is stuck with that nasty 1.54.01.00 i may have a solution.
I managed to downgrade my treo 750 radio firmware to 1.12.0c.00.
!!!AT OWN RISK!!!
-Run cheetahunlocker only step 1
-continue till the bootscreen (3 colors)
-Removed USB cable
-Don't click Start Update!
Ran official Desktop updater from palm (update version 2.27)
-Went to Temp files (Start --> execute --> type: %temp%
-Went to Palm dir --> 750RecoveryTool dir (is hidden) --> open T750URT (
treo 750 update recovery tool)
-Follow on screen instructions.. After this is got a rather old radio version
Will now try to run the Normal update again.

Sorry mate, seems it cannot be done with existing tools. I decided 1.54.30.10 is not very stabled and have tried several cobbled together methods to downgrade to 1.54.01.00, all with no success. Seems we must wait for someone with more skills and time to break this one open.

Nice find dude. Now there's hope for all who are stucked with radio 154xxx
Hi!
I'm wondering if anyone can give som some sort of guide (step-to-step guide from start to beginning) to upgrade my Swedish Trinity P3600 so that the GPS-function can be enabled.
I'm using Win XP on my computer and my trinity is completely original.
The system is:
ROM-ver. 1.23.413.2
ROM-date 03/13/07
Radio-ver. 1.38.00.11
Ext-ROM 1.23.413.103
I've been told that I need to upgrade the Radioversion to enable the GPS function.. how do I do that?
The things I don't understand are for eg. what do I need to do? I've been reading things about CiD? (what is CiD? and do I have to fix anything with it in order to upgrade for GPS function?).
If anyone out there could help me with this it would be very appreciated .
Edit:
I got a hold up an upgrade here at XDA for swedish P3600, but I belive that it's the one that was already installed in the device. Anyway I installed the upgrade but the GPS function don't seem to work anyway. I'm trying the connection with a program that I downloaded for free called GPStoday.
You have the same Rom and radio version as me and I have GPS active.
You should have an icon under "inställningar"/"anslutningar". If not, it can be activated without flashing a new rom. Download the rom from dangaard here: http://www.smartmobile.se/item.aspx?id=815 and follow the instruction on the GPS on that page.
Of course, if you want to update the ROM for other reasons then a newer ROM may be fun but you should have GPS with this original HTC ROM.
You should have GPS active, cause you have first Radio rom with active GPS. You can always upgrade Radio to newest version 1.56.70.11. If Radio upgrade doesn't help, then try upgrade to other rom.
Full guide how to do that is here:
