Orange SPV sim unlock~~ - P3600 Software Upgrading

For those who wanna just unlock but still want to use orange ROM
with GPS-enable
1. Using HTC_Trinity_SIM_CID_Unlock_v1.zip, run it unlock Orange
2. download new dopod d810 rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293809
3. extract RUU_Trinity_DOPODASIA_WWE_1.23.707.6_6275_1.35.00.11_108_Ship.exe
by using winrar , you will see a lot of file, find out RUU_signed.nbh
4. download dutty's good NBHTool v1.0
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296314
5. using it NBH to NB, to extract RUU_signed.nbh , find out Radio.nb
6. using NB to NBH, just put radio.nb in to radio, then change version to 1.23.61.5, device choose trin100, then generate NBH file
7. download Custom RUU Updater
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295113
extract it
8. copy the NBH file ( RUU_signed.nbh) should be around 13.5MB to
ModifiedRUUUpdater-V2-TRIN folder
9. run ROMUpdateUtility.exe
at the end, you will still using orange rom but only update the radio rom to 1.35.00.11
there maybe a easy way to do it, that's just what i have done for unlock sim and using gps-enable Orange rom~~

great guide! was holding off unlocking my m700 cos i'd loose the gps until orange released a wwe rom so now all unlocked and sorted!

help!
hi guys, i have just read some of these threads and as a non developer and simply a new SPV M700 user i am bewildered!
i don't suppose anyone would take a few minutes just to tell me in simple terms what the advantages of unlocking the SIM are and then let me have a step by step guide as to exactly how i download the phone pad software?
I read about the latest dopod ROM and obviously didn't understand a thing.
If this is not really worth your time, i totally understand but thanks for considering it anyway.
If anyone wants to email me and then give me a basic lesson via telephone then i would be extremely grateful.
In return any legal questions answered - fair trade?!
Thank you,
Raj

help
PS - my email address is [email protected]

actually what are you looking for?
advantages of unlocking the SIM only allow you to use any sim card you want, e.g. O2, vodafone..etc...

well, if it is easy to do, any basic guidance would be most welcome!

Hi !
Can I unlock SIM M700 using HTC_Trinity_SIM_CID_Unlock_v1.zip , without any other files ?
And from where I can download this ?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293957

Hi guys!
Please excuse my ignorance.. I'm a total newbie... Can anybody please tell me how to get back the original orange uk rom on the spv m700? i just like the orange logo and settings back...I'm sorry if similar question has been asked already, i couldn't find the thread if there's any... Any suggestion is much appreciated.. thanks alot!

this is the thread, just follow the step i wrote in here, then you will keep using orange rom with sim unlock and gps enable..

Thanks very much, followed the steps - no problems, Works with my O2 sim Cheers. Wireless seems slower now though anyone else have the same problem?

Just checked the Wireless LAN settings - power mode setting has to be best performance now, it used to work fine set to best battery, hope this doesn't use all the power too fast now

Good job first!
I got one question. I got an orange M700 Dutch version and just only unlock the network with AUTO_Unlock_v1.bat. At point six (6. using NB to NBH, just put radio.nb in to radio, then change version to 1.23.61.5, device choose trin100, then generate NBH file)
1 Do I have to leave CID Type: SuperCID Or do I have to SiperCID my device?
2 Do I have to leave the language WWE or should it be Dutch???

Orange SPV ROM upgrade issue
Hi,
Has anyone else had a problem after upgrading their Orange SPV M700?
The upgrade went smoothly and the phone works fine when I put an O2 SIM (from my work mobile) in but when I put my Orange one back in it comes up as an invalid SIM
When I went to the Orange shop, the guy said that Orange lock the SIMs if they find the ROM has been tampered with - but I can't find any other references to that.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Dont you need to unlock the Sim and not the CIS ist two different things

thanks a lot

Just for reference: I did this - got to last step and got a connection error from my device. It flashed up the connection error on my pc, but the pda went to tri-colour screen.
I then ran ROMupdate utility again, with the tri-colout screen still showing on pda and it worked

great guide very help ful

From Orange Rom does the M2000 accept the O2 rom upgrade?

I like O2 network but have an unlocked Orange SPV M2000 has anybody actually put an O2 upgrade onto an Orange rom... Where there anyproblems? Please Advice as I had to reset my device after a disastrous error (my own fault) So now is a good time to update the rom!
Anyone? advice please.

Advice? Well read the wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_1.42.00_Upgrade
& the other wiki pages about the BA.

I did, came to the conclusion that the indentity patch was no good as the O2 update doesnot unzip etc .... so so much for that. I read the info and yes its dodgy to do so but has anyone else ever put an O2 upgrade on a non o2 phone?
Yes! Loads of people here have done it - all the information on flashing a device with a different Country ID (ie an O2 ROM on an Orange phone) are all on the wiki! All you need are the o2 rom upgrade files and to replace the BA_UpgradeUT.exe with that magical file MA_UpgradeNoID or whatever its called exactly. If you are worried about doing it then don't bother, as flashing your phone can be risky if you don't know what you are doing. Besides the O2 ROM is crap anyway as it has the horrible O2 Active UI on it which everybody uninstalls straight away anyway!

Try WinRar next time, works better than WinZip for extracting shipped-roms or just start the update process & search in the temp folders from WinXP to the extracted files. Probably they in your document&settings temp folder.
M
The trouble was .... the O2 file was an exe and it simply runs.. back to the drawing board. The O2 active comments, it may be crappy software but darned usefull for accesssing specific email accounts.. i.e. o2 ones. Please dont get on your high horses about O2 or me asking for help, I am very familiar with flashing.. etc.. it just isnot as straight forwards right now from orange to o2 and yes I really want the O2 one.. Back to the drawing board ... or buy another one.
As oltp says, if you right click the .exe file and you have WinRAR installed it will give you the option to extract the files into a folder. If you are still stuck, let me know what version of the ROM you want and I can upload it for you if you want. Your best bet might be to use the non O2 1.42 ROM and then customise your extended ROM with the O2 customisation CABs (which are on the ftp)
Thank you!
THANK YOU THANK YOU I knew it had to be something simple... got winrar to do the extracting . Sometimes when you get stuck it helps to ask when you suffer of overstack failure..

Whats the best ROM at the moment?

Ive got a MDA Vario on T-Mobile UK and last night updated the ROM to the KJAM WWE 216901 ROM...

i think so yes. i'm using it on a k-jam and is very happy with it, for mainly 3 reasons:
- All activesync problems vanished
- Battery life is noticeably longer
- It seems a lot faster
. It seems more stable (fewer soft resets and no hard resets since it came out)
oops thats 4
Where can i get the software to update the Rom to KJAM WWE

select option 'U' Unlock SIM
phone reboots
add SIM to backout bin file names on PC
run lokiwiz.bat from PC
select option 'C' unlock CID
phone reboots
add CID to backout bin file names on PC
#install new ROM
uncomress ROM file from zip
click ROM install file
follow instruction
takes 10 minutes

Downgrading WinMob 5 to Win2003SE

Hi there
I'm trying to downgrade my Qtek9090. I have WinMob 5 and I want it to be the Rom from http://www.orange.ch/offers/orangePhones/spvM2000/spvM2000Rom?ts=1144157178509.
Now, I got the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and I did just use it like its written...
Now I have Win2003se but none of that stuff provided by Orange in this Rom (At the first start it said some stuff was missing and it xould be deleted). Then I tried again without the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and still get a country error...
Do I have to re-partition the memory like I did for the WM5 update?
Thx for answers...
greetz
Well for wm5 you most lickly got rid of your ext rom as you wanted it for storage.
So now there is no place to flash the extrom so the cabs that are part of the extrom do not run and thus you get no ORANGE related files.
What you need to do is create a new EXT rom partion and flash the rom again.
This time you can delete the radio.nbf and the NK.nbf and just leave the MS.nbf (it will be a lot faster).
First of all, thanks for the reply!
great...now, how do I do it? Do I need a special size of the rom?
Sorry to say this but.....
Please read wiki
Ta
For more info you can read here
omfg this looks like work..
Sorry MDAIIIUser I used the search button (but only for the forum, my bad)...But anyway, I know you are very busy just read some threads while waiting for an answer...But you're doing a great job...All of the people here in fact...
i'm also downgrading to WM2003SE according to the directions on wiki,
BUT i have 2 questions:
1. i bought my qtek 9090 as a stand-alone qtek9090 (so not combined with a provider). does this mean i don't need the Extended ROM?
2. i aksed this question in another topic aswell, but lateron i found that this topic is more acurate to my question..so sorry for that!
here's the question:
in the manual, it says I have to download my latest favorite WM2003SE ROM version (which in my case is the Dutch Qtek DANGA001 version 1.40.00, EXTROM 1.40.556),
and FROM that file i should copy the nk.nbf to my "\DOWNGRADE TO WM2003SE\" folder..
and THAT'S what seems impossible to me, since the Rom-update i downloaded is an .exe application, and not a .zip or .rar archive..
so how should i get/extract/copy the nk.nbf file out of this Rom-update .exe file..?
i simply skipped that step but now my device keeps crashing every minute (even DURING soft and hard resets!)
HELP!

execute the application and search in C:\Documents and settings\NAME\Local settings\Temp for your file.
if you don't find it, continue on your application and try again.
thats how i had to do extract the files from my swisscom update file (wich was an exe file too)
I downgraded my spv m2000 from wm5 to 2003 and everything is fine apart from the phone doesn't work.
It just says no service all the time, can anyone help please?
Thanks.
Check the radio version on the boot screeen to see if the device sees it.
Check that you see the version under settings.
Check that you have a sim in the device
Check that you not in flight mode.
ok now onit thanks for the quick reply
Be also aware that in the boot process the radio can sometimes not load, no know reason for this but fixed with a soft reset (stick up the hole).
My device sees the radio version on the boot screen (1.06.02)
I can see the version under settings and i have a sim in and flight mode is off but still no luck.
Shall i try another sim?
Try your sim in another phone (and another sim in that phone).
What do you see at the top of the screen (should be a bar chart with an x) if you have no link.
I put another sim in and now it's all fine GPRS and Phone works
thanks for the help.
Would the device be affected if you had a pin code on the sim?
The sim code is only for the sim card.
Without the sim pin code you can not unlock the sim card.
Thus the radio will not connect to a carrier and you will not beable to phone out.
A phone lock is a lock that stops you putting in a different sim card into the phone (thus you need to stay with the same carrier)
This is a device lock and needs to be unlocked on the device to be able to put in a different sim from a different carrier.
Tool found on wiki
I would think that your first sim is either no longer valid (out of date or is a pre-paid with no money) or it has a sim lock that you dont not have the pin code of and failed to mention that it asked you for it.
Anyway have fun with the BA and read wiki for more info.
Thanks

Mozzer's Orange UK Backup ROM for Trinity (RUU 1.23.61.5_1.38.00.11_GPS No IPL/SPL)

Hi all,
Moz's RUU_Trinity_Orange_UK_1.23.61.5_1.38.00.11_GSM_NoIPL_NoSPL.exe :-
Links :- MegaUpload | RapidShare | SendSpace
Whilst teaching myself to build/reconstruct/extract Trinity ROM's I have cobbled together the above linked backup of my Orange UK SPV M700 ROM. I have found this very useful to use as a restore image for my device - back to an "official" UK Orange build (or as close as it can be in the absence of an official UK Orange ROM release!)
This RUU was made using a ripped backup of my M700 at v1.23.61.5 and a reconstruction of the Ext_ROM from the same unit. The RUU is only made possible thanks to the tools found here on XDA-Developers. (Many thanks go to AnDim for Ext-ROM Image Editor, Olipro for Custom RUU Updater and Des for SoftSPL.) The included Radio ROM is the GSM enabled v1.38.00.11 (ripped straight from the last official HTC shipped ROM upgrade) and the enclosed Orange splash screens were reconstructed from .bmp's - again pulled from this site (thanks to Sammis!)
There is NO IPL or SPL included in this build so the same IPL/SPL that are currently on your device will be preserved. The CustomRUU will initially load the SoftSPL and may ask you to acknowledge installation of the SSPL modified Bootloader on your device before flashing begins.
The linked .exe is a self-extracting WinRAR archive which will auto-launch the RUU. You simply need to connect your Trinity to the USB and get to the point of a Guest ActiveSync partnership before launching the RUU! If the Tinity disconnects from USB initially within the Bootloader, just re-launch the RUU software again at that point and the ROM will flash correctly from then. I have tested this software many times and it has always worked for me! (No guarrantees given or implied tho!! )
I hope someone finds this useful! Enjoy!!
Kind regards, Moz.
Nice one, you did a more complete job than me .. I only dumped the OS part of the phone
Good work that man.... been hoping for one of these, now can flash my M700 and see what all the fuss is about ;-)
Thanks,
Been waiting for this for warranty purposes

GPS radio Rom!
Anyone tried this yet?
Is it an official UK rom?
Will it fool Orange customer services?
It is THE Orange ROM
He took it from his M700 before applying LVSW (I think he used that one).
Orange aint got a ROM out there for us
As for fooling Orange Custard Services...... that really isnt hard... ask them what day it is and that usually works..........

Hi,
You don't need to register with megaupload to get the file... The whole point of using a free hosting site like that is to avoid having to email such large files all over the place... Besides, I doubt your email provider will allow this size of file as an attachment...
So, I'm afraid the answer is "No" I cannot email this ROM to you.
Either sort yourself out with megaupload or let me know some other free hosting site that you *can* use and I will upload it there for you!

Hi,
Thanks for confirming the validity of my ROM!
I'm pleased that it helped you out.
I'm now working on a cleaned, fast, minimal installed software version of WM5, based on my own sifting of all the best versions of certain useful apps. Until we see the official Dopod version of WM6, I think a slim/sleek version of WM5 is the best possible utilisation of this handset!
Rgds, Moz.
Just a quick word to say I flashed your rom after having tested a few WM6 roms, and it works fine. As far as I can tell, it looks just like the original orange phone. Thanks.

Great peice of work!!
At last, a fallback in case all that WM6 experimenting goes wrong.
This is what Orange should ahave had out a long time ago.
Anyone out there treid SPB backup to restore a ROM after flashinging it??
I've flashed back this ROM after using Muns WM6 rom and used Sprite Backup to restore to my original point. All seemed to go fine bar a few little tweaks.
Not sure if thats what you meant. I havent used SPB backup before but i'd expect it to be the same.

Hi,
The absolute original IPL & SPL are not available because Orange UK have not released any M700 ROM's for us to extract them from.
(IPL & SPL *cannot* be extracted from your device!)
That is why I made sure to release my ROM without *any* IPL or SPL inside - thus leaving intact what you already have.
The majority of ROM's available on here do not necessarily include any IPL or SPL so chances are you still have your originals intact anyway!
If not, your only option is to take one of the official HTC or DOPOD ROM's and extract the IPL & SPL from that, compare and hope that the version is the same as what you had originally, then flash to your device in the usual way.
Whenever I download any ROM, I *always* check to see if it includes any IPL & SPL and remove them (there is little to zero point in upgrading them anyway) and that way I always know that I can go back to the abolute factory default of my own phone by simply reflashing with my own backup ROM (ie. the one I have made available here!!)
Rgds,

Bricked Vodafone Kaiser ... HELP!

Hey Chaps,
Just thought earlier today i'd have a go at upgrading my phone with the new HTC firmware for my Vodafone Kaiser. First i tried it on it's own only to find the 'vendor' had blocked the upgrade, then i ran the HARDSPL software, when it rebooted my phone to the tri-colour screen i stopped pressing enter on the batch file and ran the HTC upgrade again! ... success - sort of; the upgrade got to 15% and stopped with a connection error (my usb's dodgy i think), then when the phone rebooted to the tri-colour boot loader it'd a) no longer accept the HTC Rom (vendor thing again) and b) become irritatingly broken.
Is it possible to flash an older vodafone rom to the device? if so, where can i find such a beast. Or does anyone know of any devilish ways to put the new rom on using the bog standard bootloader?
Thanks in advance big time to any clever phone experts who can de-brick my... er... brick
Dan.
your supposed to install hardspl before upgrading it if you try it on its own it will brick it at least thats what i heard from the stickies
azazelx, he has hardSPL installed, anyway.
@JimmyJangle: flash via microSD card. Read here.
You need winrar to extract file nbh from the shipped ROM.exe.
Hmm, i don't think i do have HardSPL actually installed,
When i saw the tricolour screen come up with different version information I stopped that batch file that was installing HARDSPL (impatiently) and started the HTC one (which failed at 15%). So now i (think) i have a phone with no firmware and the bootloader says:
KAIS130
SPL-1.56.0000
CPLD=8
I reckon if i can find a vodafone made rom the bootloader'll let me install it.
Any idea where i could find one?
What is ur orginal shipped ROM?
Your solution now is flash back the orginal ROM by using microSD card method I mentioned above, install HardSPL succesfully, then flash whatever ROM you prefer.
Hey Nghiem,
Thanks for the help, that link doesn't go anywhere though.
Also, wouldn't i need the original rom from somewhere in order to do that?
Thanks,
Dan
where did you buy the phone e.g vodafone, orange, etc...so I can tell you the original ROM? Because you phone CID is not unlock, hence you must flash the back the shippied one.
Get the WM 6.1 Vodaphone official here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365058
Hi,
I got the phone from Vodafone in the UK.
It had WM5 on it... erm, that's it.
I've just beem trying to load original voda roms back on to it but it's not happy - i don't know if they really are the originals though, one says 'reconstructed'.
Dan
Actually, that was the rom i tried and it came up with the Vendor ID error.
Dan.
Link on post #6 is the official not reconstructed. How about download directly from Vodafone website? It's strange when you have carrier ID block even with its ROM. Also, try reconstructed ROM listed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1586817&postcount=2
Search for mtty, see if it can help you out.
MTTY saved the day!
Only 3 hours of my life lost!
Thanks,
Dan
Cheers. Don't forget to flash HardSPL and read the wiki before doing anything.
