I've just got an Orange SPV M700 I am told that the HTC version of the ROM for the Trinity comes with a Task Manager Icon in the Setting section.
This, as I understand it, allows you to control the way in which you end programs. ie. you can actually STOP them by hitting the cros instead if closing them and leaving them running in the background.
Orange for some silly reason has not included this. Anyone know how I can add it?
Is it a registry tweak or a program...?
Thanks in advance!!

Here you are:
I think that work's for you...
anyone got this to work with m700 as i have tried and it does not
Ok so i manage to make a cab from file's to i take from windows dir...
Here it is test it and say if work's..
Thank's
no joy, have the icon in the system tab for task manager and have enabled the x button but the programs still run under memory - running programs list.
I'd just like to add that if you're looking for a better app than that HTC one is Handyswitcher by Dinarsoft. Sure it costs around $6 or so but it's an essential tool.

I've got the HTC version with English ROM and it doesn't have a Task Manager setting. You have been misinformed.
I no the UK one hasn't but if you use the GPS enabled ROM downloadable from here (as a colleague of mine has) then the Task Manager is present. this is the function I'm after! I also a a Newbie to all this mobile stuff (I've been in IT since DOS version 1 though!) cannot understand the merrit in leaving the programs running....perhaps someone can explain this to me, ie. the Pros and Cons of exiting agains Closing programs.
Ta!

Not that I really believe what I am saying but leaving memory management to the OS should allow for the most often used applications to run in background so that they can move to foreground very quickly when you need them. As a matter of fact with large programs like Opera it makes quite a difference.
Tried the Task Manager Cab and it does not work, it still leaves the programs resident in memory. All install ok and behaves itself and appears to be find but just plain old fashioned "does not work" Sorry!
Any other thoughs ideas from anyone?

Here's the TMO Wing original ROM with TouchFlo added. After the screen alignment, the TMO customization app will run but it doesn't install anything. Give your phone some time to initially startup after the install before trying the TouchFlo. Use at your own risk. Thanks to the PDAVIET team for the install process, anichillus for the kitchen And I think??? Tom Love ??? for the TouchFlo process itself. If I've used something of someone else's. I will try this rom now. But I still think that it is only included the TouchFlo, not the others app?
Is it possible if you cook a new rom based on the Wing OS like the version HERALD_WM6.0_4.17.07.12.PV? I have tried the Touch IT already but it could not compare with the .12.PV in general.
The biggest problem now is keyboard of Wing, it is different than 4350's keyboard. So if we can get the new rom with Wing OS, it is the best!
Thanks in advance!
Downloading now :] from the wifi across the street, this might take a while...
Please post asap guys how this works.
There are several questions I have:
Does this include ANY extra software?
if it doesnt include ANY, then is there a TF manager at least like touchflo 1.1?
Does this have the 6mb page pool applied to it?
It's the base tmob ruu, with touchflo. not bad but still way up on the mem usage since its the official ruu
i got it to install okay but i can't get touchflo started. there are no tf settings. it replaces the left soft key. some of the issues i read about before are apparent like clicking the "x" opens the right soft key.
reinstalling something else. GREAT JOB though and thanks for making this. i'll check it out again next release.
TF Settings are in the Programs Folder. It has the original page pool but, the quick page pool changer will still work. One thing I did notice though, the TF settings aren't checked but it does work for me. If it's not working, open the TF Settings and check 'Enable cube' and 'Enable Scroll'. Also set 'View mode' to 'TF default v4.1'. I'd hate to slim down the ROM and have it missing something that a lot of people use. If you want to customize the cube, open \Windows\BioTouch Settings. I will definitely be fixing a few things so post suggestions here. Don't expect any changes until next week though.
i couldn't find the settings dialouge in any folder. i went into the programs folder where all the programs are usually located (in the start menu) and then into all the subfolders, and couldn't find the settings. They were also not in the program files folder that i reached through file explorer.
Strange. it's all there for me. When I get home I'll flash back to the original RUU. Then reflash my version. Thanks for your input.
Almost the T-Mo ROM with Touch settings
Well it's almost what it says it is. Everything is there except for the basic T-Mo apps like Hotspot log-in, T-Zones and My5. Which isn't a bad thing becuase I don't use any of them, however it is the missing IM program, but again no big deal because that's available in th the forums here. All in all, so far I'm impressed.
is the keyboard layout correct??..other then that there will be no other reason to switch because some how i kept all my t-mobile files when i flashed to the touch it rom
Just a question. When i reflash, i normally cut out the customizing part. Is the touch-flo function a component of the "Customizing" function after a hard reset?

To increase more sensivity go to HKLM-DRIVERS-TOUCHPANEL-PRESSURE THRESHOLD and modify to 200 or more.

Yes, and No. Respectively
I'm not finding Touchflo particularly usefy on such a small screen, in fact it gest in the way of normal screen use, like multiple item selection in nPop, is it possible to turn it off ?
thx for letting me know. based on what the previous poster said my huge hulk hands would prolly struggle with that anyway.
shame about Cube not being present (did I read it's hidden in the registry somewhere?) and I guess there are cooked roms thor maybe a cab that feature it .
just how good is it - (the cube that is)?
what 's the general consensus of the cube? maybe I should start a separate thread - let me know if I need to...
cheers,
lr
Honestly, the cube is more style and splash than substance. I'm fine without the cube. I do like the rest of the Touch interface though.

Does anyone else get an Access Denied error when trying to change this setting? Using Mobile Registry Editor 1.11.
me too, i used another regedit program as well as Mobile Registry Editor v1.11 (CeRegEditor) with the same result...access denied.

OK.
Been frustrated as hell with the performance of my Diamond, but I REALLY REALLY want it to behave fluidly and as HTC market to us all... I don't want to hand it back and go for an N82 (although I love the camera on this). I WANT to keep using my Diamond as I do believe in it... even after my little rant in the "is your Diamond perfect" thread ;-)
So... and I hope this question will help others too.
I need to know - If I install Diamond TF3D Config and AC 2.1 with Boinger66's mods, and the latest on the block, Diamond Teak all on the same device.
And I asking for trouble ?
Or will common settings (registry changes) to improve performance, enhance power management etc across all these brilliant applications conflict with one another ? Or will they play nice and just change the same registry settings ?
cheers.
Or... is there one that will be the best ? I am not a WM expert and all this is a tad intimidating
Are the Advised settings marked in AC 2.1 with Boinger66's ones that the dev advises, the community has advised or Microsoft advise ?
i.e Do we happily set everything that we want to change to advised and following a soft reset, enjoy Diamond bliss ???
Please... I know I could read countless pages of threads but a clear concise answer to the above would help me and many others out along the way.
cheers
They should work all together...
My app is just reading and writing to the registry and not saving the selected tweaks anywhere else, so it makes no trouble with other tweaking tools, if they do it the same way.
It works together on my original Dutch rom...
At the moment I am using the Diamond TF3D config 0.6 tool from sushilange..
Here i can fill my own tweak list.. i like to take control
@sushi... thanks for that.
@benĀ®nie... cool. Will add AC2.1 and B66's tweaks back to my recently hard reset Diamond.
Currently with just sushi's app... all seems to be flowing along nicely
Oh... and anyone know the answer to the 'advised' setting question ? Power management ones seem most app with the small battery we all have ;-)

My wife got me a diamond for christmas, it replaced an original Touch (vogue). I wonder if I could bother the experts with a few questions..
1. Other than keyboard and memory expansion is there any real benefit to go with a touch pro? I had 2gb expansion on my old touch and never exceeded it.
2. My carrier is sprint, model is DIAM500, ROM 1.09.651.5 Which if any Custom ROM upgrade would y'all recomend,
3. Major complaint: I listen to a lot of audio books. When listening and wearing headphones OR using aux input on sterio, it auto answers even though I have auto answer turned off in phone settings... any ideas.
4. I've installed a new theme, only complaint is home screen limited plug-ins. Does HTC have a TF3D API to expand or is that limited?
5. I have advanced config installed, gyro 2 installed, TFT3d config, and sbp phone suite... any other "essentials" anyone can recomend?
I have limited WM and CE development experience (Ford Sync and WM5 basic apps). Any dev tools a "must have" for development or theme development for this phone?
I have tried to find some of the above answers but have not had much luck, perhaps because of my limited knowledge. Any assistance would be most appreciated.
1 think only the touch pro support the tv out cable
and for development then depend on what you wish to develop
if you wish to develop apps you will need
visual studio if you want to make .net apps and visual studio and wm6 std if you wish
to develop c++ win32 apps
if you just want to make skins ms paint is likely to be enough

Honnestly, it all depends of your needs. Some like to go more all out where as others like to have faster roms in terms of response. So it's really what you want to have.
Also there are different rom versions which do extra stuff. Depends what you want to do.
Make sure you read the HOW TO's section in the ROM Development section.

You may want to look at the whole debate behind SensorLock, S2U2 and AutoKeysDisabler (not quite sure of the exact name). SensorLock is what I use and is pretty good for what it does.

If you want to make applications for windows mobile, like Rudegar said you will need Visual Studio.
If you wish only to make tweaks and package them in cabs for other uses to use, consider WinCE Cab Manager.
Enjoy your Diamond
Thanks for the responses guys! Most appreciated.

No, not tabls, but the home screen... on mine I only have a clock, call history, and calendar available. I'm used to the old home screen where I could enable which plug-ins to display (e.g. SPB phone suite today plug in). Don't get me wrong, I can adjust just fine if not available...

1. This answer depends on the user. For those who like texting with one hand and feel that 4gb of internal storage is more than adequate, like myself, then the soft-keyboard only device is fine.
2. As far as custom roms go, the second thing you should look at is getting hardspl on your phone; the first being the CDMA section of this board.
3. an app? an ipod?
4. im sorry that's beyond my limited realm of knowledge. TF3D seems fairly closed to that stuff.
5. phm registry editor
Umm yeah, so... hi.
Hi all, after about 1 day of searching for these applications using this forum, and the search option I finally gave up. Even when I know the name of the application finding it is mostly luck related.
My father has a touch pro with the latest WM6.1 French version and I would like to add 3 programs to it:
1) The battery 1% charging, so we can accurately see, what is the battery level.
2) The task manager, from windows mobile 6.5 (I would like to see if something is working in the background, relating to the recent battery drains)
3) A GPS test (it is cooked in the energy ROM, and tests and calibrates the GPS). I hope it will work in WM 6.1
4) I would really like to use the flash led on touch pro as a flashlight (i know there is a program like that for WM, but when I search for it, I only find the fake flashlight application, that shows a burnign flashligh on your screen, but does not use the flash of the device)
Thank you all for your help.
1)camera led as flashlight you can use this cab http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=581382
2)task manager http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606162
3)for battery percentage icon you can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1421241&postcount=1

Thank you both for your help, as I am half Greek (Efxaristo poli). I really appreciate your help and your useful links.
Have a nice week.
As for the task manager, is there a way to get the HTC HD2 WM6.5 task manager program? I was not able to download the one that you have linked me, and when I read the thread, I understood it was not really what I was looking for. Just want a small application that you have in WM6.5 in WM6.1 that I can turn on and the off, just to see what is running in the background.
Not bale to use the GPS test, as I get an error saying the application is not supported or it is not a WM program.
Did you copy the GPSTest.exe to your mobile? Or did you open it on your pc? Cause you do need to open it on your pc, then it installs on your mobile.
