Does anyone know the difference between the radio stack 1.06 and 1.06.02? Is the 1.06.02 the latest version?
I don't know the technical differances, but 1.06.02 is the latest version .I have much clearer b/t, much improved wifi and bluetooth range, and no hollow sound through the bluetooth headset.I get 25 feet range on b/t. I am running the dangaard 1.22.167 rom on my pda2k.

What was you'r old radio version? I am currently running v1.06.00 wonder if upgrading to 1.06.02 is that much of a difference?
Thanks
I was running the 1.22.162 Imate rom and it was 1.06.00 . Now with the Qtek 1.22.167 it is 1.06.02 .It made a big difference on mine.I am still very happy with this Rom. 8) 8)

Garinx,
You can download the radio rom from here - ftp://xda:[email protected]/BlueAngel/RadioROM/BA_FRA_BelDT_12202_558_10602_Ship/ . This file is radio only so it will support any BlueAngel based device.
By the way, this is ONLY the radio file!!!! You will have to place this radio_.nbf file into an extracted ROM folder to perform the upgrade. PM me for help!
Good luck,
Dom

Is it possible to upgrade just the radio, without doing a a full rom upgrade.
By that i mean, doing a upgrade to the same Rom and extended rom but changing the radio file.
Can i simply just upgrade the radio only
Thanks
John
Yes, you can update just one ROM at a time. All you need to do is remove the other two ROMs from the upgrade directory and you will see that when you run the upgrade program that only the remaining rom is listed as an update.
This works as I have carried out the same procedure to update my radio to 1.06.02 but I cannot remember if the unit hard resets itself after the update. Just to be safe - do a full backup first!
Happy updating.
John,
Yes, this is possible as it states above.
All I did was back up my device, then replaced the radio file in the ROM upgrade and then run the upgrade! After installing and Hard Resetting, I just restored from backup!
Let me know if you do it and how it went.
Dom

Yes you can only upgrade the radio, be sure and back up the device as this will also need a hard reset and all you're custom programs/settings will be gone you can restore with the backup.
Backup and remove all .nbf files except for the radio_.nbf file and run baUpgrade.exe
This will upgrade the radio only, I did this last night and it works
I think the answer may be YES, YES and YES!
Try this as the saves some time on the download, its readio only.

Is the radio rom 1.06.02 is the latest one?
Was when I put it there, like the folder reads, 1.06.02
Does 1.06.02 radio rom improve quality of BT and/or phone? What about the power consumption?
Headset Trouble
Does the Radio Update 1.06.02 fix all troubles with headsets like:
.) scratching noise when more than 2 meters away from device
.) headset lost connection to device often.
or is this not fixed ?
ore is there maybe another possibility to fix this.
link to nbf ?
As I read in this thread, a new radio version might solve my problem described below. But both links to radio_.nbf's in this thread are not working. Please post another one and would you please explain the process of upgrading! Thx a lot!
yesterday's Subject: HELP! Microphone shut-off/power-safe during calls
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just bought the Qtek 9090 about a week ago. Great machine, but calling is aweful. I have the same problem that I read about somewhere else on the net: during calls the microphone shuts off when I don't talk. When I start talking there is a short delay I guess, which makes the connection sound cracky or interrupted to the other person on the line. Is this a known issue to anyone here? Is this a software or hardware prob? Should I send it back? Will they be able to repair it, exchange it or do nothing at all? Please reply quickly. I need to know what to do in order to send it back in time! Thx a bunch!

Then go to the radio rom dir .......

Thank you! Will the "Radio 1.06.02 Edited for German Tmobile MDAIII.rar" work for my Qtek 9090 (Germany e-plus) also?
Hi Guys,
I know this might sound like a stupid beginner question but
a. I read the forums and didn't find good info on Dutch T-Mobile MDA-3
b. I promise that if I get help from you guys - I will pitch in and help others. So thanks for helping out !
I have a Dutch MDA 3 from T-Mobile with the following:
ROM Version 1.06.00 ENG
ROM date: 08/05/04
Radio Version: 1.00.00
Protocol version 1337.30
ExtROM version: 1.06.118 WWE
My questions:
a. Is there an upgrade ROM for this phone? I called T-Mobile and they said that they are not sure when and if there will be and upgrade.
b. Is it worth upgrading? I guess newer is better but still - what becomes better - is the bluetooth clearer? is the WIFI range improved? is the phone's stability better?
c. Again, thanks a lot for the kind help
It does not necessarily need to be a T-MOB ROM...please study the forum and read the link in my signature.
All the info you are seeking can be found here.
Hi everybody.
First of all, thanks for this really nice forum.
I am a complete newbie in Pocket PC world. I am coming from Palm world. In fact, I was so much disapointed by palm that I decided to switch.
So, I have just purchased in London a second hand T-Mobile MDA III. I have unlock really easily with the program I found on this forum.
Now I want to upgrade the ROM because regarding the version of mine, it seems pretty old. Here is my version description :
ROM Version : 1.06.00 ENG
ROM date : 08/05/04
Radio Version : 1.00.00
Protocol Version : 1337.30
ExtROM version : 1.06.117 WWE
Model No. : PH20B
I have read a lot of information about this subject, but to be honest I am completly lost.
First I don't understand what is an extended rom ? I mean why there is two roms.
Secondly, what is the last version of the ROM I can use to upgrade my MDA III. I don't care that much about the T-Mobile configuration since I am using it in France. So anyway I will have to put another configuration for my carrier. So what ROM can I put and what is the process to do the upgrade. For the moment I don't want to upgrade to WM5 just new version of WM2003 SE. In fact, if at the same time I can get rid of the T-Mobile branding, it would be great, but it's my principal reason for upgrade.
Also, my last question is that sometimes after using my mda, it seems to run quite slow, specially display. Do you know what is the reason ? I am thinking it might be relating with the use of WM9.
Thanks a lot for your help guys.
Julien.
Hi
First of all: read all the wiki section for BA (BlueAngel)
It's quite well explained there.
Your roms are indeed old.
Go to the wiki section and download newest rom update.
( I think that I-mate's update has ROM 1.40.00WWE with Radio 1.12.00 and ExtROM 1.40.176WWE )
Upgrading is very simple, when you follow wiki.
ExtROM is a portion of ROM that contains installation files for provider-specific applications and some hotfices (CAB files). ExtROM can be edited by user (cooking) to personalize your device best.
At your point I suggest using extROM from this update.
Thanks a lot Robal.
I had to check some other post, because my current ROM was in ENG. So I use some trick to use WWE Rom.
But now it is working great.
Julien.
I just got my T-Mobile MDA from eBay. However it seems pretty slow. After reading the ROM upgrades threads, I want to ask if there is a ROM out there that has T-Mobile stuff integrated? Also, what else can I upgrade from the list below:
ROM Version: 2.26.10.2 WWE
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.12
ExtROM version: 2.26.10.105

@tariq_niazi - For fun why not keep this ROM (as it's the latest T-Mobile) and install Molski's two registry cabs? Will make a world of difference with little work on your part (and it's still stock)
http://www.molski.biz Look for HTC Wizard and then My Cab Files.
(btw, site isn't IE friendly, suggest you use Firefox)

If the Java menu does not work (if no Java is installed or using IE7) you can click a button to change the menu into a PHP menu that works 100%
