In Call Volume Problem. Please Help. - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I'm using the WM6 RTM (realease to manufacture) version of the Wizard. The problem is after I reset my phone the in call volume will go back to the lowest level during a phone call. I would have to raise the volume level everytime. Does anyone know of a registry change that would make the in call volume stay loud permanently. Of course I can do a hard reset if all fails but reintalling all the programs would take a few hours. thanks

I had the same problem.
The xplore 1.1, fixed the problem for me. Best of luck

Ring problem - solved??

OK guys,
I just had my "faulty" Diamond replaced - it wasn't ringing on calls, but all other sounds were OK. This is not the same issue that people have had with SMS notifications etc etc.
Basically only a hard reset cured the issue, but it came back after a few days.
Since using the new one I think I worked out what it could be, and it might be very embarassing.....part of it is to do with the stupid way HTC have implemented the volume behaviour in Touch Flo, and their philosophy of "why press the screen once when you can press it 3 or 4 times"! Dismissing email, missed call and SMS notifications from the Home screen anyone? - need I say more.
Anyway, the problem <I think> stems from the way they changed the volume feature. (and operator error).
In WM6.x native, if you turn the system volume off, then the ringer turns off - if you turn it up the ring stays off - BUT both volumes are seen on one screen. So it's obvious.
In Touch Flo there are 2 separate screens!! System Volume, then an Arrow left to "Ring Volume".
Anyone who has the apparent "no ringing" press the up or down volumne, then make sure you hit the arrow left for "Ring Volume".
My sample size is 1, so this maybe coincidental, but I hadn't realised it worked this way.
For those of you with the problem, please check the "Ring Volume" level and get back to us.
See the pic attached.....
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the 'no sound on calls' problem has been seen to happen when the system volume and ring volume have been at maximum. Indeed this has also been seen to happen on WM6.x native, where as you say, both levels are visible.
I was meaning the incoming calls do not ring at all- the sound when speaking still works.
Is that what you meant?
If yes then that's a pain - I was hoping it could be the end of my troubles!
This may or may not be relevant, but, I never change the volume (system or ringer - they're both set to max) and indeed I've even remapped the volume hardware buttons to other functions but on occasion I find that whilst my system volume remains on max my ringer volume has gone right down to zero.
It certainly wasn't me that did it - at least not directly through any positive action related to changing the volume anyway.
I cannot seem to reproduce this problem, and so for now it seems to occur randomly (of course I'm sure there is a definite trigger - I just haven't found it yet!).
Mathew
that is odd - whatever is causing it then, it might be ringer volume related...
This Has Solved The Problem On My Touch Diamond...will Probably Post In A Couple Of Days To Indicate Whether The Problem Has Returned...if You Don't Hear From Me In This Thread Again Then The Problem Can Been Seen As Solved For Good.

no sound.
hi. just got my new diamond. it powered up alright, installed all the necessary apps and sounded great. I also adjusted the system and the ringer volumes to around 80% of max.
but if i use the phone after around 15 minutes, there is not sound. no audio player sound, either songs or incoming calls or sms or anything. its just dead silent.
wanted to go to the shop to have it replaced, but before that, i wonder if anyone can help me and tell if this problem can be solved myself.
i guess i will wait for a reply before going for a replacement.

Bad news mate. But that problem is slightly different to the topic - it's only the ring volume which doesn't work for me and certain other people.
All other sounds work just fine.
Phone not ringing, vibrating or flashing for incoming calls
I am also having the same problem with my Diamond. The phone is not ringing/lighting up/vibrating or anything when someone is calling me. I have tried calling my phone myself to just watch it remain black. I REALLY hope someone somewhere finds a solution to this problem, or I may just throw it against the wall
I also had the same problem with my Telus CDMA diamond - sound worked fine, then after a random amount of time after power off, there would be no sound - no ring, no mp3 audio, nothing. Sound would be restored after soft reset, but would again disappear sometime after being powered down. I tried everything to fix - reflashed various roms, SRS WOW driver, everything - no fix to be found. The only way I could prevent the sound from disappearing was to use the "not suspend power" option of S2U2 - sound was maintained but it sucked battery like crazy. So, I returned the phone for exchange - they exchanged no problem. I haven't had a problem since with the new phone.
Phone not ringing for incoming calls
I've had this problem twice in the last couple of days. After testing a few scenarios I have been able to reproduce this problem on my TD. Like other users, the problem that I was experiencing was that my TD would not ring upon an incoming call. It would flash the screen and show caller ID, but no sound. Ring volume and system volumes were both at max.
I have been using an alarm application, G-Alarm v0.6.4. This app was installed to the device memory. After setting a test alarm and cancelling it, I then called my TD and the problem was reproduced. Are any other TD owners with this bug also using G-Alarm? (I also found that the G-Alarm was not stopping by pressing "Stop", so thought it was a bit buggy.)
I could restore the phone ringer by opening Settings -> Sounds & Notifications -> Notifications. I found that my original ring tone for an incomming call had changed by itself. When I restored the ringer to my chosen ringtone, problem solved.
I uninstalled G-Alarm and so far so good.
I'm interested to see if any others with this problem are using G-Alarm or any other 3rd party alarm app.
Regards,
Paul
Paul, I also seemed to have run into the same issue with g-alarm. I say seem because although I did a hard reset the issue has persisted. The issue seems to frequently crop up when I switch sound profiles.
I've the same problem. No Sound after some call or others sounds play. When this happens and if I receive a call the others not listen my voice. This means that when audio disappear, speaker and also microphone not work, like the system can't comunicate with them. The volume control not resolve my problem. I've done HR and with nothing installed in my phone the problem come back again after few minutes. So it's not a problem of third part bad software, but htc orginal software or hardware problem.
Anyone solve it o have idea?
Thanks!
Perfect solution sickboy555 - I feel a right twit!!!!
no sound
So, for me, the Diamond is a dead brick - just good to look at, with no sound after 15 or even 10 minutes of standby.
can anyone just tell me if this type of a problem may be related to 1. Hardware, or 2. software.
I've given it to the shop from where i bought it from, but they keep on returning me the phone after a week to 10 days, telling that it's been fixed now. But the problem still persists, and I keep on giving them the brick back again and again.
Frustrated, i wonder if I can fix it myself, or just go to the shop, and throw it against the wall and count the pieces !!!!!!!!

glad to have helped!
I'm not sure if there is a real hardware issue as well. Are the others with the "same" problem sure they followed the guidance????
Hi Sickboy555,
yes I checked your advice but this wasn't the cause of the problem for me. As posted earlier, for me it was caused by my G-Alarm application. It's been over a month now since uninstalling G-Alarm and the problem hasn't returned since.
you are the man,thank you.
Thanks. My incoming ring tone problem has been solved.
er...sorry..wat is the solution again?? i dun really get it...

Problem about ringtone volume.

Dear all,
I have problem about ringtone volume in noisy environment. The ringtone is very low (Ring volume is Maximum already). I can't hearing from myphone. How can I do? Thank a lot
say if your using an mp3 as a ring tone you can try using an audio editing program (such as audacity a free program) and just open the file with it and turn up the db then save it as an mp3. (you need to download a plugin or something to export as mp3 but its all free) good for editing too lol
It's not just ringtone!
I think this is not just your ring tone problem.
my viva has this problem too but this volume problem is for
everything play in my phone.
when i restart my phone sounds are ok but after 10 or 15 mins
volume goes down and i dont know why. not yet
Hi
Try upgrading your ROM, i had this problem too and i did this,
everything is ok now
Which upgrade did you use?
Try this one
try flashing your phone with this ROM.
It is an original HTC ROM.
It is also in WWE.
I have also the same problem before but when i flashed my phone to this ROM version i guess the volume problem was fixed due to the fact that I'm using this one for 3 straight months already.
Try it and hope it will work.
here's the link to the ROM:

Ring Tone Sound Problem - Help

Hello all,
I though I had sorted the problem of the low ring tone when I installed the Audiopara cab file from here at XDA. Indeed it does raise the volume quite a bit but at a price...
After a few hours it randomly refuses to sound when someone rings, windows media player will only play at one volume (very loud) even when I have the volume turned right down for both the program and the phone / system itself, and my SPB alarm refuses to sound unless it's on the maximum volume setting within the program...turning the system volume down or off does nothing
Please can someone advise how to get the ring tone volume at a resonable level with sacrificing the problems above...
p.s. Have also tried HD tweak but that just disabled the ring tones altogether.
I used HTCVolume.cab it is on this forum, this fixed the problem for me, i hope this fixes your problem, you will probably need to find a way to remove the previous fixes first
Thanks for the reply...I'll download the cab file and try that.
I'll hard reset my device as I've had to do a number of times previous to get rid of the problem and try a fresh install....
Cheers
Just tried the cab posted below, installed it, soft reset and now the sound is as quiet, even a little quieter than normal.
Anyone got any ideas as i am missing so many texts and calls it's not even funny anymore. There's so much i love about this phone but not being able to hear calls and texts is a major problem...please can someone help :-(

Ringtone problem

Hi,
I have been having this problem for the last couple of days, for some reason the volume of my ringer has dramatically decreased to the point where i can't hear the phone ring when it's in my pocket (wasn't the case before). When i try to play the ring tone (it's a wave file by the way) using the media player the volume is normal and very loud, the same applies to when i play it from the settings->sounds&notifications the volume on the ring tone is perfect, but when i receive a phone call the ringer volume is cut down by more than half, i checked the ringer volume and it's set to the max, I also did a hard reset then restored my files using the sprint backup but the problem didn't get fixed, I tried using a different ring tones and the same happens. any help would be greatly appreciated.
There are three volume controls: System, Ring and In call Volume.
Have you checked the System Volume?
If you press up on the hard volume key, you'll see arrow on the top right to switch to the next vol control. Check there.

ringtone problem
yea all 3 volumes are set to the max level
ringtone volume problem
the phone has the original stock rom from rogers (canada) hope this helps in any way
Have you got any profile managers installed (G-profile, Phoneweaver etc)?
ringtone volume problem
no i dont have a profile managers installed... so i just noticed that when the phone start ringing and i dont pick up, a second before the phone stops ringing the volume of the ringtone increases to the normal level (then stops ringing), the increase of the ringtone volume happens for like a split second after the caller hangs up and the phone stops ringing. hope this helps in any way. Thank you
Sounds like you have a Ringtone delay problem, there are a couple of solutions.
1. Disable HTC dialer (and use the Winmo one instead), can be done using Advanced Configurator 3.3.
2. Try the CAB I've attached, remember to only use WAV as ringtone though.
I would also recommend adjusting Call Forwarding timing to 30seconds. Settings/Phone/Services/Call Forwarding and get settings.
Disabling the HTC dialer is probably going to be the best solution as the HTC dialer is a hungry resource eating monster but I would just try the CAB and adjusting Call Forwarding time. There are some other REG setting as well but I never found them useful.

[Q] Stock 4.1.2 XXLSZ - Too high volume

Hello,
I just updated my 4.0.4 to 4.1.2 today, via Samsung Kies. (Dumbass I am, I'm not rooted anymore. Waiting for a tool, or maybe i missed something ?)
All run fine, excepted that in-call volume is really really high, even at minimum. It looks like the 4.0.4 speaker ON. I'm unable to get the phone on my ear without pain. :crying:
How can I fix that ?
Tried *#*#197328640#*#*, but it doesn't work.
Thanks in advance.
Am I the only one to have this problem ? :crying:
nope.. vol is ok..
rooting option is till there by flashing Philz LM5 kernel from stock recovery.. may be then you will have apps to control it.. or may be install the rom again with wipes.
Problem solved.
I just tried a call with a friend near me (sound was very high, he was earing himself talking), then I put speaker ON (volume was a bit louder), and when I shutted it off, volume has become ok (unable to ear something if you have not your ear on the phone).
Can't explain that... I didn't tried to put speaker ON after 4.1.2 upgrade.
Maybe a calibration issue.
If it can help...
Otherwise, sorry for that topic.
Problem came back yesterday.
Volume does not come back at a good level when I shut on/off the speaker...
I'm near outburst of rage
Try re-flashing and let us know...
Same issue

I have exactly the same issue, not tried turning the speaker on and off yet, but unable to adjust the call volume. JB is good but this is a failure at a basic level. Cannot find call volume in the settings, only ringing volume.
**UPDATE**
I tried toggling the speaker on and off during a call, made no difference.

It worked only one time for me.
Tried something else which fixed it : when in call, press key volume up 2 or 3 times, then hit the parameter key that appears right to the volume bar. You are now in the vol parameter, showing all vol levels. Your in-call bar might be at mid : slide it to low. Get out with home key : you can now take your ear on the phone, the volume is now OK.
This tip worked for me with my last calls. Hope it will works for you too !

Cool, I will give it a go, thinking about it I the last call I had wasn't overly loud, so I may have done something to it, but next time I am in a call I will click the volume configure button and see what I can do.

I can control the volume now from the buttons and the onscreen control, although it will not go to the lowest notch. Any solutions?
Happens to me from time to time as well. What I do is I just increase the volume 1,2,3 click and then tune it down and it fix it.
But yes - there is such issue.
