I have mda 3 locked to t-mobile and they can't provide me with unlock code.
Is there any other way to unlock this device ?
http://www.t-mobile.hr/20/20-30-10-10-10.asp?sifra=TMMDA3&ponuda=V2
hi! i have a mda III, until now you only can get the unlock code by paying 15 pounds to T-Mobile. I tkink that soon will appear an unlock tool on this web page, like xda2unlock.exe for the XDA II.
Do you know if we could unlock the mda III by changing the entire ROM (including the extended rom and the radio rom) for the Qtek 9090 one? If someone knows it, please let us know. Thanks.
You can't unlock the phone by changing the rom.
Then, where the simlock is located? out of the ROM perhaps? I don´t understand because all the devices (MDA III, Qtek 9090, Imate PDA2K...) are the same gadget and all come from HTC, so all its parts except for the ROM program would have to be equal. If you know the answer, please, let me know. Thanks.
where is the rom
Sure, the simlock is in the rom
so, changing the rom by sd card on boot loader is for me the solution
you have to test it
Could you be litle more specific about changing rom with sd card on MDA3 ?
Did you try this ?

Ok, let's get back to the subject at hand..
I have a chance to buy wizard phone in usa.. Everything ok but I suppose it has sim-lock.. there are two possible bargains: Cingular 8125 or T-Mobile MDA Vario.. as you know these phones are popular articles and as I thought there are no ways to buy new (not ref) mobile with G3 DoC..
so, my questions are:
* does a free sim - unlocking tool for G4 exist now or people unlock their G4 Wizard only using some online service, such as www.imei-unlock.com and other ..
** is it softwarily (some program which can encrypted with imei as key) or hardwarily (like jtag)
* pdocwite.exe can not write to cid-area G4 (you can read cid-area & typhoon5.exe has moded to understand G4 ROM) and none can steal new version of writing utilities from htc
therein lies a problem?
* how new custom ROM with modified bootloader for dopods appears? somebody from taiwan doesn’t wanna share? or i misunderstood when browsed some ftp
* i don’t understand where located cid-area (i’m understand that in DoC) and how does it connect, if connects, with bootloader and, especially, with SPL/IPL

I like wizard100 design more than 200, so i wanna buy Cingular 8125.. and if i decide to buy wizard200, i think it’s easier to find sim-free wizard
CID Unlock on G3 - (till 2.21) - downgrade & LokiWiz, (after) imei-chek.com

Hello,
I have a Vodafone v1405 Spain, or the HTC MTeor, and I ca'nt sim-unlock the unit.
I've tried a lot of methods, and I can't change the bootloader version.
Every time, I receive INVALID ID, or THIS UPGRADE IS NOT FOR YOUR DEVICE.
What can I do?
If I pay at imei-check.com for the unlock, how the simlock status will be afected if I upgrade to WM6 in the future?
If it's possible, I'd like the NON PAYING method for the unlock...
Br,
Jordi

Same problem!....help please
But my v1405 is sim unlocked.
Finally, I paid for the unlock solution.
Check http://www.imei-check.com/c700unlock.php
They will send you the file for the program.
Fast solution.
I paid 30€ EUR.

Hi Jordi,
I'm from Spain too, I suposed you have the same phone, vodafone v1405. I have the sim locked problem solved, but I'm getting crazy trying to upgrade to a new ROM.
Thanks
I tried a lot of versions, and finally worked the ROM version 1.34.251.1 and RADIO 1.38.00.10
If you want, send me a private.
Jordi
Anyone can provide me a link to the above mentioned ROM?
can find it anywhere, tried to download from Tmobile but it requires 10 digit phone number for verification,
thanks a lot

is it safe to install a ROM downloaded from rapidshare? what if the file has been meddled with?
Besides, i have an unlocked t-mobile mda (G3). Would it become locked if i apply the new ROM?
Thank you for bearing with me.

Yes! its safe to download from rapidshare.G3 phone once CID unlocked remains unlocked ever after, flashing an official rom doesn't put a CID lock again
CID Locked!
Sorry for bothering again.
Wizard service tool (WST) is telling me that my phone is cid locked. But i am using it on another carrier (not tmobile) in pakistan. So is it really cid locked then? If it really is locked, is it advisable to upgrade the rom to the one provided by tmobile? I mean, is there any chance that it would become locked? or should i cid unlock it first (using WST) and then upgrade?
Thanks

Ok,I'll try to explain what is SIM_Lock and CID_Lock,they both are entirely different functions.
SIM_Lock:-
SIM is the abbrevation of Subscriber Identity Module . it Hold the IMSE (International Mobile Subscriber Identity ) and TMSI (Temparery Mobile Subscriber Identity)
Feature which would lock a phone to a specific network or set of networks. Used by providers that subsidize the phones to make sure the customers stay with the provider that got them the phone.
Some phones are locked to the specific telco from which you purchase your phone, eg you can't use a locked O2 phone using a Vodaphone SIM/smart card. To use SIM card from other telco, you need to SIM unlock your phone. Note: In general, the phrase 'unlock your phone' usually refers to SIM-unlock, not CID unlock.
In Pakistan,Phones are sold as SIM Unlocked, thats why any SIM of any Network works with them.
CID_Lock:-
Carrier Id - commonly used in the form `CID-Unlocking`. If you purchase your phone (example) from Qtek (Qtek is the 'carrier'), your phone will only accept Qtek ROMs (the carrier's ROMs). If you want to flash ROMs from other carrier, you'll need to CID-unlock your phone, so that your phone will accept other ROMs. Note: In general, the phrase 'unlock your phone' usually refers to SIM-unlock, not CID unlock.
So,Phones sold in Pakistan are usually SIM_Unlocked but they are not CID_Unlocked.
Now,if its running a T-mobile Rom (OS) then YES! you can upgrade to the latest T-Mobile rom, there's no need to CID_Unlock the phone, but if you want to upgrade to any latest Custom Build WM6.1 Rom,then definitely, you'll have to CID_Unlock the phone.
Thank you
Thank you

itsme's tool should do the trick. Unlocking SIM should have no effect on your installed WM6. In the unlikely event that it would harm WM6, just simply reflash.
But it's also very likely that you can just call your provider for the unlocking code. SIM lock is a way in which providers make sure to make money on "cheap" phones, the actual cost of the device is hidden in the cost per month or per call. Countries can have different laws:
-in Belgium the provider has to give you the unlock code when you ask for it, even if it's one day after purchase.
-in the Netherlands the provider should give it after 1 year (if you ask for it)
Once you've unlocked, you can shop for the cheapest provider. If you don't you keep on paying for a device you already paid...
