Hi:
I can’t manage my Jabra (BT8010) to show caller ID, even with JETware (v1.30).
I recently made the upgrade on Jabra to V 1-33-0 and still can get caller id to function.
Anybody have a solution?
Thanks.

Thanks for your hawser, but I did as you say, and the Jabra display only shows the number that is calling not the name that is in my contact list.
Could it be something that went wrong in the first boot of the Advantage?
Hi,
The Jabra can't look into your contacts on your PDA. It shows the number(caller-id). But you can add names into your Jabra BT8010 with theconfig software(you can donload it from the Jabra site). If I'm correct then you can add up to 20 names and numbers. When the BT8010 recognizes the caller-id and it matches the internal list of names/numbers, the it will show the name on the display.

no, shouldn't be, btw, you need to have the caller ID function turn on from Jetware. Now delete the bluetooth headset from your device, software restart, reset your bluetooth headset to factory default, then pair again. Hope this will works

Forgive me but I don’t think it works like you said “The Jabra can't look into your contacts on your PDA”
IMHO, is the Advantage software that should “send” the caller id (name) to the Jabra.
That’s watt JETware does with several hands free devices like Parrot, etc.
As wu5262 said, and if the software is compatible, the caller id (name) must appear in headset as long as you have them in your contact list on the pda/phone.
I thing I’m going to do a hard reset in the Advantage to see if it works ok.
In the mean wile if anybody finds the solution, it will be welcome.
Thanks again

good luck with your try, just to let you know, it took me a while to get mine working, you might have to play around with the Jetware advance setting, i have the voice dialing and suspend after call disable, the others are all on. And also i am using version 1.2, the beta version doesn't work for me. And remember you need to factory default and pair the headset again when you done with changes.

Hi,
I just tested it (again). Or it shows the caller-id or the name stored in the Jabra BT8010. So you don't see the name stored in your (PDA)contactlist corresponding with the caller-id

Where did you get V1.33?
The one on the site is V1.25.
ok firstly, the DOPOD U1000 works perfectly with iTech clip D, you can display caller Name on it with no problem.
The step is nothing special, personally i suggest you delete the pairing of headset first, then install Jetware, then go to Advance setting in Jetware, tick the caller ID box, then software restart you machine, make sure you factory default your headset, then pair them together again, now you can have caller Name on.

Waiting that WM 6 resolve the problem, with the help of JETware we found a reasonable solution.
1 - Install Jetware v 1.30;
2 – From Settings – Connections – Bluetooth – Devices, delet the paring with Jabra BT8010
3 – Softreset your Advantage;
4 – On your Jabra BT8010 select Settings and Factory Reset;
5 – From your Advantage (connected to ActiveSync or GPRS) go to this link www.jetwaremobile.com/bthfx/Device/Nokia_HS-12W.jcf.
6 - When you download that file from your phone, you should get a prompt asking which paired Bluetooth device the settings should apply to: Choose Jabra BT8010 and Done;
7 – Turn your Jabra BT8010 on, and pair him again with the Advantage, and that’s all.
If you go thru this steps as I sayd, you shold see your Jabra display caller ID (of course if the caller is in your constact list in the Adavantage).
With this solution we have, at least, 2 problems:
1 - In the call list (on Jabra) it stores the name, not the number, so you can't dial using the calll ist;
2 - If you have another bluetoth device (ex: Parrot CK3100) in your car the caller ID in that device may not display.

After step 7, don't forget:
- In Jabra BT8010 activate the show caller ID option (Settings - Display - Caller ID - ON).
- In JETware settings you should activate the Caller ID (Programs - Bluetooth Options - Hands-Free Config - Menu - Advanced Options).
I forget to mention: I have updated the Jabra software to V 1.33 (I'm not sure if this makes diference...)

We are looking at displaying of caller names (from your Ameo contacts) when a call comes, and not just the +1234..... thing
OK, I see. That would be cool. Good luck!
In the mean time I have used the Jabra Software to set up a phonebook on my earpiece. One thing I noticed though was that I had to omit the +xx part of the phone number otherwise the callerid would not find a match.
Thanks for giving this long awaited solution to my Jabra BT8010. So far showing contacts on bluetooth headset only working with i.Tech Clip D. Good work, Bro!

Hi beginner:

If you don't want to push the button every time you have an incoming call you must configure the Jabra like this:

select Jabra BT8010 and unpick the option “Wireless Stereo”.
After + - 5 seconds, all sounds came thru Advantage speakers except the phone and stays like that until I revert this configuration.

In my case, every morning i turn on the jabara and athena they will auto connect but even the wireless option didn't ticked, all sound will routed to jabara. What i do just open the option and choose wireless stereo ok, then unthick again and work normally.
Actually is that any ways to repair that?

Hello!
I also bought theLG Style-I black version of it! Is it really from LG? Or just fake?
The sound doesnt seem good at all! People talk a lot about noise on conversations and it keeps unpairing and saying out of range!
Is this normal??
Please notice that I've got WM6 english ROM.

My Style-i is silver as I thought all were, but maybe there are black ones?
Mine is fine with regard to staying connected etc - seems fine on conversations etc.

Hello Deiota,
I'm using also the LG Style-I with my Ameo, but without any problems at all. Clear conversation over BT, sound is good; and okay, sometimes Style-I told me, out of range, but if I use the Style-I to phone anybody, the LG is already connected at the Ameo and is working perfect.
btw: my Ameo is running under WM5 original OS. and the Style-I is silver
Which colour is it? I'm thinking that perhaps black is fake...
Mine is silver, but I remember seeing both black and silver ones reviewed on various websites.
The style-i is available in both Black and Silver.
It will unpair with WM6 if the device has low battery ~20-30%, as bluetooth deactivates to save battery life, or atleast thats what I've noticed with the Ameo's I have.
Try forcing a re-pair, by pressing and holding CLR until "pairing..." displays, and run it through the pairing wizard in WM6, passcode is 0000.
Regards
Whata about the noise I notice some times?
I think this is not normal. Some times its OK but others its crappy!
The X7500 is never away 2 mts.

Hi,
I've got the black one too but I don't have any problem.
I have to say that the sound quality is not the best one (compared with any other phone speaker) but it is fine.
By the way, I will add some pictures.
Best regards,
Alberto
I find the call quality on my silver one great, never get "what was that" "can you repeat that"... :-D
I just got a black one from ebay. I has been perfect and i have had zero problems. I was able to walk away from my phone 15' into another room and still had a connection but the person on the other side said it was "scratchy". I paid about $32 and it came "oem" style with just the ac adapter and small worthless "additional information" book. The only thing that didn't work was voice command dialing when my nephew was screaming in the same room as me. The ambient noise seemed to garble the voice command i had set and the phone wouldn't recognize what i wanted it to dial.
Also black is not fake it just seems to be harder to find on ebay. I can find it other places in retail box but then its $150 or something crazy like that. Im glad i purchased the black one. I have read reviews and they have mentioned the black one also.
Also a question for all style-i users. How do you wear your style-i? I am trying wearing it clipped on my collar with a t-shirt. I don't know about my pocket because it seems like it might be easily crushed or cracked open if left in there.
Glad you have a good black one - it proves they are not fakes! Great news.
I wear mine on my pocket no problem.
Also the JetWare extensions to make it work with called Name ID works very well - well worth the $14.95....
I keep mine.... in the cupboard. The novelty of it soon wore off, and I bought a Jawbone headset.

Palmchen, you're right, it does work. I missed the second file, as well as the change to advanced options. Guess I didn't read or search enough. Thank you very much.
Vibrate
While several of the bluetooth headsets with caller ID have a vibrate feature, the LG Style-I doesn't. So if call comes in, I wouldn't know unless I have the ringer on on the phone, which I can't do sometimes, such as in a meeting. So if call comes in, I probably won't know to even look at caller ID because I won't know there is a phone call. It is a downside to an otherwise nice device.

I have the same problem with a cheap Style-i (black) from eBay ($14.99). After connecting to X7501, every 35 seconds it says "Out of Range" then reconnects about 2 seconds later. Upon reconnecting, it starts up Voice Speed Dial on the Advantage.
Anybody found a solution?
(I've tried resetting both devices, un-pairing/re-pairing, both fully charged, my Motorola BT headset works fine...)
Steve
I used to get mine reconnecting all the time, so got fed up with it and use a Jabra 8010 Bluetooth Headset now, with Vibra, now theres a novelty!
Glad that people have got the Style I working with Caller ID, thats a handy feature for sure.
I followed all previous instrunctions and still not able to display the caller name on the screen of the HBM-700, only the number display.
It works fine on Tekkeon ET3000 ...
Can you pls list what features are to be checked in the "Advanced Options"

Well at least in my eyes anyway... I have almost the perfect setup for me running Sleuth's 3.0 WWE Rom and radio 1.64.08.21 with MSVC 1.6 and if I could just get it to do two more things it would be perfect. Crazy thing happened today, so I know the first wish must be able to be achieved. I'm sitting in the airport waiting for a flight watching my mobile slingbox with the audio coming out of the internal speaker and I have my bluetooth headset on waitng for calls to come in. Sure enough a call comes in and MSVC starts to announce the caller, but also starts playing the audio from my slingbox. "What I say how is this possible?" I'm just using a cheap Jabra headset that I got from Verizon as a matter of fast it says Verizon on it and not Jabra. The headset works perfectly with MSVC 1.6 announcing callers and everything else, but I didn't think it was possible for it to allow audio from music or streaming video such as mobile slingbox. Well it did during that incoming call, so does this mean it is possible to listen to audio through this bluetooth headset? If anyone knows what I need to do to be able to listen to music and streaming video/audio please let me know. That is wish #1.
Wish #2 is the ability to use a app. that will allow me to respond to text messages via voice, I guess some type of speech to text app. that I can speak into my bluetooth headset and it will type out the words to respond. I've found it very difficult to respond to my text messages traveling 80mph down the road and I also don't think it is very safe. So I'm not sure if wish#2 is possible, but I thought I would come here and ask.
So that being said the two above wishes would complete the coolest device that I have ever owned in my 42 years of life. If you can help a old man's wishes come true please let me know.
Thanks in advance,
JMan

The only time I get the error you got is when my headset isn't turned on and linked to the phone. Remember also that the toggle is a toggle, the connection breaks when something else interrupts the audio, like a phone call. You must toggle it off then back on (or use BTaudioOn).

I don't know of a speech-to-text program specifically but I would not say it isn't possible. Cyberon and MS both have speech recognition in their Voice Command products. I also have Windows Live that allows me to speak a location to get directions.
All of these apps run on TYTNII and do not require voice training to work. They are not perfect, but they do work. Hence, it should be possible to do what you ask. But no one has done it yet?

When my phone is connected to my car kit (Opel/Vauxhaul UHP) bluetooth sometimes stops randomly. I can turn bluetooth on again with the commmanager and everything is working again. But it can hapen again after a few minutes.
Does anyone have this problem to or even better a solution?
I allready tried all the different Radio Roms, but this didn't solve my problem.
Well with mine i have some hickus but it just happpends once a while.
Most irritating about Diamond and BT in my opinion is that wa have no equalizing for it. and the sound setup from the begining is horrible.
Asked here if anyone has a solution before but none replied.
But as far 2 your problem no. And i use a Pioneer system in my car.

I've a JVC head and my bluetooth has no problem.
I have a Honda Accord with handsfree built in and I too am having problems. The phone and car both agree that a connection has been made but when i use it to either ring out or receive a call the radio mutes and when receiving the ringing tone sounds over the car speakers but I can`t hear the caller except on the phone which isn`t very useful. Would a ROM or radio upgrade help or is it just a compatibility problem

I had this kind of problems also. Also syncing the phonebook gave me problems. You could try JETware, this solved almost all my problems, except now the bluetooth crashes

Thanks Mauser. I tried Jetware as you suggest and I`m afraid it didn`t help in fact I think it crashed the handsfree system in the car like you. This is the final nail in the coffin for my Diamond. I just can`t get used to it so it`s off to Ebay with it.

I'm sorry to hear that
I am very pleased with my Diamond... I would sooner put my car on eBay than my Diamond
Did you try to check almost everything on in the advanced settings of Jetware? I have also limited the phonebook sync to max 5 entries to debug and on the site of Jetware there wat a fix for Opel car kits.
Keeping my fingers crossed, but until now I haven't experienced any bluetooth crashes.

Thanks again Mauser. I tried various settings but without any success, I think the phone is just not compatible with the Honda. Having said that I don`t have much luck with bluetooth at all on the phone. More often than not It just won`t detect other bluetooth devices and when it does it won`t send or receive files so it`s time for it to go and I can go back to a trusty Nokia
Problems here with BT connection to car kit, too. I'm using the built-in car-kit of an Audi A4 (standard one not that with navigation, remote SIM, etc). I've noticed the following issues:
- when I try to make a call, the CD is cut off but NOTHING is heard in the car speakers UNTIL the other party answers the call (and then I start the conversation). No ringing tone, no nothing. I cannot hear the busy tone, or network failure/congestion tone and this is annoying since I have to keep an eye on the phone to see what's happening. I found myself checking the phone when, after calling someone, nothing happened and in fact I got a busy tone and the call ended.
- sometimes, when I receive a call, the CD stops playing but when I answer nothing is heard from the car speakers but only from the phone (as davemazo said also).
- when I receive a call, I hear in the car speakers a "standard" calling tone, not the ringtone I have assigned for that contact
I have to mention that with any Nokia I had before (and still have one as a second phone), these problems do not exist. I know there is a compatibility between Audi factory installed car-kits and Nokia, but BT is a standard and most of the functions should be supported despite the phone model/type. I've tried also with an iPhone and it's working great, as my Nokia do. I don't understand why it is like this with the Diamond. In fact, I think it is not related to Diamond itself...it's doing like this with ANY Windows Mobile device I've tried in the past (Orange C600, Samsung I600).
Are there any solutions for this? A CAB, a new BT radio, a software, anything?... I don't want to buy a new BT car-kit and try with different models until I find something compatible
Thank you for any info/tip

Hi Rapier,
I also had a SPV C500, MDA Compact, Qtek 8500, Samsung I600, HTC Touch Dual and now the Diamond. The only one which gave me no troubles was the SPV C500, but I think that was because this phone didn't support phonebook synchronization and had no network identification/signal strength over bluetooth.
After the SPV C500 it went wrong. First I noticed that after a hard reset it worked for a few days. Later (about 2 years later ) I found out that it was because the call history was going to long to sync over bluetooth.
Then I found Jetware in which you can limit syncing to any number of items. They even had a fix for the connection to my carkit.
Unit now... it works like a charm... but keep my fingers crossed
I don't know if your carkit is a Audi UHV, but I saw that they had a fix for that too! You have to just install Jetware and then run the fix-file from your phone. Good luck!!
P.S. I am in no kind related to Jetware, I just found out that it worked for me.
Yes, I have an Audi UHV 6634. Thank you for the info, I'll try that and post the results here. Though, my car-kit is not the advanced one and I don't have to sync anything with it (contacts or something else). It's most working as a plain hands-free device, no extra functions...speaking of which, I've noticed that on the phone is detected as "hands-free"...why not "car-kit" as I know a car-kit has other functionality as well? This is the "standard" BT device for any audio enhancements (even if it is a car-kit not a BT headset), or I have to activate something to be recognized as car-kit?

my Honda system doesn`t read the sim I can only dial out via handsfree using contacts i`ve entered into the Honda system otherwise I either have to read the number to the system and it will ring out (most of the time anyway) or make the call on the phone (illegally obviously) cancel the call and then say "redial" and the system makes the call. So uless I`m misunderstanding this setting I don`t think it will help me.
I`ve searched the Jetware website and I couldn`t find a fix for my Honda
UPDATE: So...I've downloaded it, install it on my Diamond (including the extension file for Audi UHV) and...no change. Everything as before with both issues. Disappointed, I've uninstalled Jetware then...surprise. AFTER uninstall, I can now hear through my car's speakers the ID ringtone Maybe some BT settings were altered and remained like this after uninstall, but I don't know why it didn't work when Jetware WAS installed...strange.
Anyway, many thanks...at least half of the problems are now solved and this only by install/uninstall a program...that's cool. I must now find a way to make the car kit ring when I make a call, this is still an issue.
P.S. I've seen that Diamond support Headset and Handsfree profiles...and when connected to my car kit is set as Handsfree. I suppose this is better than Headset...but still no ring out tone.

Hello,
I have a Mercedes car kit and facing the same issue as you: everything works perfectly for a few days when hard-resetting my device, even with my 500+ contacts (they are loaded in less than a minute), but after a few days/weeks I can't get to have my call history or contacts displayed in less than half an hour!
Yesterday I thought I'd just hard reset my device because I had this problem again, but unfortunately it didn't work!
Guess what I have done differently this time: yes, I backed up and restored my call history, which I hadn't done the previous times! So I guess it is indeed related to the call history, but I can't test for now!
I have installed JetWare and limited the call history to 5 numbers, I'll try this tonight and I'll keep you informed...
Hello,
So I have tested this yesterday (installed Jetware and limited the call history to 5 numbers), and now it works FLAWLESSLY! I can browse through my 500 contacts instantaneously when I pair my phone with my Mercedes car kit.
So, in my case it was also clearly the CALL HISTORY that was causing problems... A BIG BIG thanks to Mauser for pointing out this!
I'm also having problem connecting my Diamond to my Volvo S80. All the other functions work except that I could not hear the other party through my car stereo and I also could not diconnect the call with my car end key.
I'll try the Jetware and I'll report back later. Thanks for the pointer.

Hi,
Is it possible to connect two devices to Kaiser with bluetooth simultaneously? If I have already connected to kaiser with my Plantronics headset then I can't connect my TomTom 930T navigator to kaiser simultaneously. Is there any utility program or tweak to help me with this issue?
searching would help, but no it isn't possible. You can pair with many devices but you cannot have multiple streams, its part of the bluetooth protocol.

Juraus, the first reply you received was incorrect. How do I know? I'm doing it now with my hermes.
I have a call to a wired phone going now, listening to the sounds of my typing this very message in my bluetooth ear piece while at the same time watching my bluetooth GPS receiver track and send data to the HTC GPS Tool.
Oh yes, this is all under WM6.0

Those are different connections, and yes you can do that. You can't connect 2 mono headsets and use them arbitrarily for calling as the OP suggest though. You'll "set as hands-free" one of them in the bluetooth settings, then when you place or get a call it will be routed to that one even if you have another one paired and powered on until you go in the settings again and set that one as hands-free.

You can have multiple streams, but you cannot stream the same data to multiple endpoints without some decent hackery. Such as having 2 audio streams at the same time to output the same exact audio to a headset and to another BTA device. Before calling someone incorrect know what you're talking about. I've worked on backend products for bluetooth, bluewire(proprietary bluetooth light), and even some zigbee headaches and stand where my original post was. You CANNOT have multiple streams of the same data going to multiple endpoints.

That's nice what you worked on, good for you.
And I can call someone incorrect on a post when it is not what the OP was asking about.
Quote:
"Is it possible to connect two devices to Kaiser with bluetooth simultaneously? If I have already connected to kaiser with my Plantronics headset then I can't connect my TomTom 930T navigator to kaiser simultaneously."
No where did the OP post anything about multiple headsets or similar devices. The question was about a headset and a GPS receiver.
Your post:
"You can pair with many devices but you cannot have multiple streams"
That reads that one can have multiple devices set up to connect to a given device, but can't use them at the same time.
I posted that it was incorrect as I was doing it when I made my post.
Besides, your reply to my post just said it was possible, at least in theory.
Quote:
"you cannot stream the same data to multiple endpoints without some decent hackery"
So, to modify one of your lines, know what the original post was asking before posting incorrect info and then trying to slap your knowledge size on the table when someone calls you on it.

Well, from what we understand, he actually does!
The Tomtom GPS is not there to provide GPS data, but has a function to act as a headset (the Tomtom has a speaker and mic, and can be used as a hands free and to accept/reject calls or dial from its screen while your phone is in your pocket).
So the Tomtom in this case IS a "headset", so the end question really was about a headset and a headset - to which the "not possible" answer applied correctly... or the OP wasn't clear enough about the use of the GPS, but AFAIK the "integrated" Tomtoms can't provide nav data over BT anyway so there's not much choice

Ah yes, that does change things a bit. I thought that the TomTom device mentioned was similar to the one that Garmin offers as there is TomTom software available for the WM platform. In that respect, I apologize to illusion as I didn't have all the facts, nor did the OP fully explain what they were trying to do.
So, assuming that the OP was indeed trying to make use of the hands free parts of the TomTom, then no, it won't work with the headset at the same time as the TomTom appears to play the part of a speakerphone, which would exclude the use of the headset.

More or less. However, I stand by my initial reply as illusions' post, as written, says that one can not have multiple devices 'talking' to the PDA via bluetooth at the same time, which is possible, as long as they are not trying to access the same data stream (multiple headsets).

Hehe
To me he just simplified, not putting the fully detailed answer but just the one that applied in the OP's case.
But yeah, the little bit of "ink" it saved actually got multiplied to a much greater amount in the end
