8125 Problems

I recently bought an 8125, it came with Farias WM6 custom ROM. After using it for a few days, I realized that I wasn't receiving a lot of my calls when the phone had been in sleep mode for awhile. I found the thread, that this is a known problem with WM6 ROMs, but can't find the thread now. Anyways, there was a cab fix, that I tried and no help. So I tried to flash a new ROM (XDS WM6v3), and the results were that I could not boot up at all, got the 3 colors screen. So I used Wizard Love, which appears to have put me back to WM5, which I am fine with as long as it works. My new problem, is that my storage card is not recognized. Please remember I am almost completely dumb at this, so I need detailed guidance. I have been reading, but the terminology on a lot of things are tough, then I have to read more. I am on dial up, so it is taking forever to try and get a remedy. I just want a working phone, either with WM5 or WM6, it doesn't matter. There are so many ROMS, I am overwhelmed, I would be happy with whatever ROM came stock on this phone as long as it works, receives calls, storage card works, and I can put a few apps on it. Oh its a G4 phone.

What up fella,
First question, in a card reader, can you access your storage card? WM6 allows users to encrypt the card so its only usable from the pda. You can always reformat the card.
If you are leary or need more time researching, no problem. Then I suggest you reflash the OEM 8125 rom from cingular (U R on cingular, right?). Anyhoo, here is the link to download the OEM rom from HTC's website [Click Here]

My understanding is that G4 phones are a little trickier to install custom roms. I'd suggest reading the G4 wizard section until your eyes bleed. My wiz is a G3...and for the record...are you CERTAIN that your phone is G4? If so, I am not totally sure (like I said, I have a G3), but I am not aware of too many custom roms for the G4 devices. As for the storage card issue...remove the card, get into bootload mode, allow it to reset, then put the storage card back in. I found out when my wizard almost died, that SOMETIMES if you have the storage card in the phone while you are flashing and/or hard resetting the device, it sometimes won't read the miniSD. I wish I could help you more. Good luck. Hopefully one of our resident Wizard wizard's will read this and work their magic for you.

How did you verify if this you have a G3 or G4. If you have a G4 realize that you are not going to unlock it, for free anyway. If this is the case your best bet is to use soft spl to flash, right now this is the easiest way. I did it on a G4 Tmobile MDA. But you should first make sure you have a G4, if it is a G3 as I have noticed 8125's are, then you are in luck and you can unlock it and will have no problem flashing any wm6 rom. Send me a PM if you'd like. I am not the wisest but I am willing to provide any advice my newbie self can. worst case you can always put wizard love from the boot screen back on it.

You posted this problem in another thread,where many senior members gave you valid advises,there was no need to start a new thread for this.
Anyway as you say you don't care much to upgrade and wud be happy with stock cingular Rom,than I must advise you to download the official cingular Rom from it's website and flash,as you say it's a G4,it doesn't require any unlock or any other specific method to flash it being the official Rom,just download and run the 'romupdateutility' application and it'll flash all by itself.Your all problems will be solved.
but if you are willing to upgrade and confident to take the risk than read all the threads regarding G4 devices,before posting and post in the correct thread....But don't start new threads and SPAM!!

Thanks for the posts guys. I will be working on this today using the replies. Oh ! ok it's alright but just make up you mind and have clear concepts as to what you really like to do,do you want to go back to stock wm5 rom or interested in upgrading to newer wm6 upgrades,cuz in either situation the methods are entirely different,as you have a G4 device,remember it's a very tricky device,anyway it's all upto your decision,but whatever you decide,we are here to help you out the best we cud

Thanks! I would rather just go back to the stock ROM, get something that works and take the pressure off, by not having a working device. Then I can spend time at my leisure, to learn, and maybe down the road I may be more interested in custom ROMs.
Update-I reflashed Wizard Love, and still cannot access my storage card. I then loaded the stock ROM from HTC's website, from the link above. I still cannot access my storage card. It says my expansion slot is in use, but I can't see the card under memory, file explorer, or exploring from Active Sync.

Another update- Tried another card, and it worked. Tried my card in another phone, and it didn't recognize it. I will be borrowing a card reader and reformatting. If it doesn't work, then somehow my card went bad, coincidenatally at the same time I flashed a new ROM.

Update- Got a reader and re-formatted the card-- I am back in business, and the phone can actually receive calls, after sleeping all night! Thanks to all!

That's very little information. Has it ever worked? What have you changed recently? Does your computer even acknowledge that the device was plugged in? Is there an existing partnership?
You can try ending all partnerships between the computer and the phone. Without knowing what you've done, it's hard to give any more advice than that.
I'd also direct you to the Wiki and the Sticky...they both have lots and lots of information about the phone. I'm just assuming this has something to do with flashing a ROM on your phone because it's in the Upgrading forum and not the general Kaiser forum.

Your English is obviously poor.
So, try this:
1) delete your devise from Activesync.
2) reboot your computer
3) plug in your phone to the computer.

Make sure you have the latest version of ActiveSync as well.
If I understand you correctly, you have not flashed your phone. Is that correct? If I am correct and you are still using the original ROM and software, then this question really belongs in the Kaiser forum and not the Kaiser Upgrading forum.

If this is the best you can come up with after people have tried to help then I guess you haven't read the WIKI yet.
It's obvious English isn't your first language, but if you don't read AND understand the WIKI then you will break your phone.
If necessary get a friend to help with translation. Or post your question in English and your own language - then maybe someone on the forum who speaks your language can help out.

Xperia brainfart: Problems with flashing

So people around here sometimes get troubled with regular flashing that doesn't work anymore.
I'll explain my problem on this part:
I flashed to a new ROM just to find out that i didn't like the content so i wanted to flash back to TOUCH X.
I did the usual stuff to flash my phone with, Hardspl, then bootloader etc. etc.
PROBLEM!
Now all my phone seems to be doing is go into bootlader and start updating. However, after 3 seconds i get the message that the update is complete. My phone resets itself, and i found out that nothing has changed. I tried it a number of other times, without results.
Now my question is: is there any other way to do this, this is obviously not working!
post all your ideas here so other people can read this in case that they have the same problem!

Everytime you flash a ROM, you do not need to hardspl your device, only once...I would reformat your memory card,use a stock original rom and see if it will flash with that....usually the issue you are seeing is because the nbh file is not being read properly, make sure your nbh file is named correctly.I have had the issue earlier in my days where if I copied the nbh file through active sync something gets screwed in the transfer...used an external card reader and copied it to my memory card after formatting it and it went through....just some suggestions....Good Luck

try flashing the USB method, if it works its probably due to your memory card. (unless ur already using the usb method, then try the memory card method!)

How do i use the USB method exactly?

well what you do is download the file attached to this post (it is available in one of the stickies but when i tried to download it, it failed so i zipped this one up for you)
extract the .exe within to where your nbh file is (not on xperia, on computer)
make sure there is no KOVSIMG.nbh on your memory card!
put your phone in bootloader (tricolour screen) and plug in via USB
run the custom_RUU.exe and follow the prompts pressing next etc.
you don't have to sync via activesync 1st like it says.
ignore the version number of the ROM just make sure your using the correct nbh and flash!

urm i think you should at least try to look at the stickies .........

Himalaya Radio Upgrade

Hi I have
HTC Himalaya PH10A
[CE OS 5.2.23001 (Build 23001.5.0.60)]
and I want to upgrade my radio v1.06.01
I downloaded two radio versions v1.17 and v1.19
i read that v1.17 is most stable version,
and v1.19 has a flight mode issue but it is the latest version
I dont use flight mode so I would like to upgrade to v1.19
but my connector is broken so i can only use SD card
so my question is how to upgrade new radio with SD card on my himalaya
i cant find this anywhere i used search and nothing, or im searching wrong
pliz help!

i think it's no so easy to upgrade your hima from sd, you need to have a sdcard backup for have some information and the only way for do a sdcard backup it's to have your connector.
i think it's better to solder your connector on your motherboard.

i already done the rom upgrade with sd card, friend has the same himalaya and we did it with his!
but is it the same process for radio rom install with sd card??

Don't know it exactly, it should be the same. Can you wait about 2 or 3 weeks.
I'll disassemble the old one of aeroflyluby and use the spare parts. Are you able to solder a new used connector or is the mainboard damaged?

i think its not damaged, idiot in some mobile service soldered only 2 pins just for charging but usb doesent work, i dont even have a usb cable or a cradle so i find out few months later at my friends place, i seen this when i opened my himalaya the guy didnt even tell me that he done that
but i cant solder small pins like that, even he couldnt do it i think!
i would like to update my radio cause sometimes i cant get normal connection in places where is normal signal, and for the battery life cause my battery lasts on only one day if i use it a little

Underclocking when the phone isn't used works fine. You don't have to overclock, if you don't want to! Just set max speed to 400mHz.
So, it is a new connector badly mounted to your device? There should be a workaround to fix it, maybe someone else knows to fix that easyly !?!

How did you do rom upgrade with SD card? Lots of guys here have broken USB connector and want to do rom upgrade with SD!

its the old connector, but it not broken, its just soldered badly, i mean only 3 pins just for batt charginig!

we upgrade himalaya with working connector, and then used tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=482236 and the put the sd card in broken himalaya (mine) and it flashed prefectly! we used swampy`s rom

Great! I was thinking you cannot use two Himas and do it this way!
Then the Radio upgrade should also work the same way.

in two pages we know everything now about rom and radio upgrade with sd card!

first copy the first 3 M of the radio to sd

4. You will first see a tri-color screen then the information on the card. Press power button to start flashing.
5. After all these are done, press the reset button located at the bottom of the phone to reset the device.

Tytn 2 Mistake

Hy guys,
i've a problem with my father's tytn2:
he brought the phone one year ago, and i've discovered that comes with a cooked rom that doesn't work very well (incoming call and wifi problems).
Yesterday (ex leo owner and not totally noob) i decided to try a new rom but i can't understand looking inside the hard drive of the phone if the precedent owner use SSPL or HSPL
of course i don't won't to run the risk to brick the phone, so i decided to follow a guide and first flash a shipped rom then install a cooked rom...
i prepared the files descripted in the noobs guide and try to flash the shipped HTC rom, but after i sync the phone and after i start to flash the phone get out of the sync mode
i can just arrive at the screen with the trasfering file, but the counter stay still to 0% and the phone sync off alone
i do everything with windows vista but i can use XP and seven, if you tell me that there is a stranger incompability...
someone could help me solving this mistake?
i've never had this problem mounting and unmounting the HD2

Well you might try to flash off the sd card. Rename your rom to kaisimg.nbh place it in the root of your sd card and then restart the phone while keeping the camera button pressed...and follow the instructions on the screen.

to solve a Wifi problem you can use Wifisychip

so i will try with the spl like arturo says, but i've to found an sd card =)

you can flash SPL activsync you via usb ...!!! before you do it make sure the device has the unlock and remove the SIM card, you can use the XDA Unlock Application
