hi.. im new in this site...
i've been using xda 2i for years and i realize that the backup battery always stays at 0%... how can i recharge my backup battery or i must replace the backup battery instead? thanks...
That's a really strange behavior. My backup battery stays always at 100 %. Either your monitoring system / indicator is wrong, or your battery is defect.
Anyway, you can try to figure out and remove your accu pack, wait for several minutes and then put the accu pack back to the device. If all your data is lost and the system is acting like after a hard reset, so the backup battery is really gone.
A backup may be usefull before you start the test.

I left my XDAIIi for a long weekend and when I came back it had fully discharged - annoying but not the end of the world.
I charged it up and it charged both the main battery and the backup battery (i.e both went from 0% up to 100% over a period of time). I did the initial hard reset install, then recovered my system from the backup copy - all as it should be.
I had cause to reseat the SIM card and to do this I obviously removed the main battery - really the first time since I have owned the unit - about 6 months now.
Re-seating took no more than 20 seconds, I placed the battery back in and switched on. I was suprised to see that it did a soft reset. Is this normal? Can't find it in the manual. If it is normal then what is the point of the backup battery?
If it's not normal - is there a way to test / change the backup battery?
Phil
It ALWAYS does a soft-reset after battery removal/replacement. The backup battery prevents you losing ALL your data apps etc. If it wasn't there, you'd do a hard-reset every time you did anything to the battery.

Hello guys,
I've messed around with OC etc. and I had to take out battery couple of times. After that some of my apps had reseted settings (probably sqlite db corruptions - it happens). Strange thing: after that my battery lasted for 2 days. Before that I was lucky if I got one day on one charge.
Latetly everything went back to normal and no more 2 days without charing.
I didnt installed anything new etc. Maybe market installed some updates - thats all.
Conclusion: something is f*cked up with our phone .;-)
I think it has to do with lg's battery drivers not working well. If you pull the battery (while the phone is running), on next boot the battery level is usually lower. I think that this causes the levels of the battery to be determined again. Normal shutdown looks like it's saving the battery level somewhere instead of determining each boot.
I've noticed one time after a nandroid restore the battery level was the same as when I did the backup. In this instance, I flashed a new rom to try for a couple of hours, then did a nandroid restore. If I remember correctly, it was about 55% when I did the backup, and about 25% just before the restore, afterwards it was back to 55%.
A while again I tried using this method (battery pull) to calibrate the battery. Using the pre #40 cm nightlies, you could boot without the battery in, using the usb charge. The method I used was to charge 100%, shutdown, remove battery, plug in to wall charge which booted the phone and inserted the battery during the bootup animation. After bootup, the battery level dropped to anywhere from about 95% to about 75%.
It certainly looks like to me that the battery isnt getting fully charged each time.
So maybe with your battery pulls you were actually recalibration you battery and getting a full charge, but after a couple of charges, it was back to normal ie not fully charged.
I understood that the bump charge is bad for your phone, and when I try to open the Battery Calibration app I downloaded it hangs with a black screen and won't open completly.
So, How do I do that? and If you could explain like I'm new to captivate (which I am), that will be great
Battery calibration is a waste of time. Just fully charge and use the phone until the battery is dead. After about 3 days, you will have your best battery life. Those battery calibration apps just delete your battery.stats file, forcing your phone to relearn how to find full and empty. But the same thing is accomplished by just charging full and using.
well... I thought it's an important step to make.. Thanks, will go your way!
Hey guys, its my first post on this forum (or on any forum for that matter) so I apologize if this is in the wrong section . But recently I've been having a problem with my S3 mini and hoped I could get some help on here. So a few days ago I got a 4000mAh - 3.7V extended battery for my phone because my old one had broken. The old battery was the stock battery that came with the phone. Before I bought the new battery I also installed the PacmanROM on my android. But since I got the battery the percentage my android displays has been completely wrong. I'm pretty sure that the battery is fully charged after over 16 hours of charging but the percentage the phone displays is only around 65% and no matter how long I charge it the percentage never reaches 100 and it will stay on a certain value that will randomly fluctuate if I restart the device. So is there anyway to make my phone display the correct percentage? Thanks for your help!
In my opinion, extended batteries are more trouble than they're worth. I have dabbled with them but all have failed at some point (even brand new). If you put the battery on a flat surface and it 'wobbles' at all then its duff. I use stock batteries. Sorry if this is not what you want as an answer but just my experience with extended batteries.

Thanks for the input anyway! I've never tried any other extended batteries so I ignorantly decided to get one hoping it would work well. But anyways I believe that its not the battery that's at fault since the battery seems fine to me (no bumps showing a faulty battery). I have a feeling that its my old battery that's at fault or the system still possibly assuming its a stock battery. Well I'm no expert .
Awfully I can post the link for fix this..
The APP for fix this 'bug' is "Battery Calibration", it delets a battery file, and after restart the cellphone, that file is remade with correct data.
Well I looked into Battery Calibration and have managed to find a fix! I charged my phone to "full" (which my phone only displayed as ~50% at the time) and once the battery percentage stopped increasing I left the phone to charge for a few hours after that. Then when I was sure that the battery is actually full, I installed a battery calibration app and "calibrated" my battery which deleted the batterystats.bin file. I then waited for my phone to completely run out of charge, which I sped up with an app called "battery discharge", then when I let the phone switch off by itself from an empty battery. Once the phone restarted the battery percentage displayed was correct.
Try Battery calibration
isnt battery callibration a complete myth and placebo? deleting batterystats.bin shouldnt help as it just contains data about what consumed battery juice
I havent installed a custom ROM in a while so I was feeling bored and downloaded a new ROM, copied the files overs and booted to TWRP recovery and wiped everything. I cant remember what all but i think whatever was available to wipe, I wiped
I then installed ADB to my new PC and my phone was not showing up in fastboot or adb (possible driver issues) and eventually the battery died while in the recovery.
I plugged the phone into the charger and it kept showing the battery empty icon and was not charging at all. I left it on charge for hours but nothing happened.
I eventually got a new battery and while the battery still had life in it I charged it full and then went on to install a ROM from my old PC that already had adb and I used to use it previously for installing custom ROMS.
No the phone works but dies randomly at different battery percentages. Sometimes at 60% othertimes at 40% etc..
Battery drain doesnt seem too bad. When I disable wifi, bluetooth and NFC the battery only drains 50% after 24 hours but if I leave wifi on it drains faster.
When I try to play games at 100% battery after 30 minutes the battery would be at 75% and then just shutdown saying 0%.
Then I plug it into the charger and while the phone is off it'll start charging from 0% and when it reaches 25%, if I turn it on it shows 70%
Could I have deleted / wiped files that I was not suppose to that could cause this kind of a problem?

Try to make a clean ROM installation with prior the fw and formating data with yes.....
Follow installation instructions of the chosen ROM step by step and don't delete everything again except with format data yes
Did you say you installed a new battery? Was it from official service center? You can use some battery monitoring apps like Better Battery stats /GSAM etc and see what's really causing it. Otherwise fresh install, check for few days.
So you got a new battery as a replacement. If you just got this online then there's a high chance the battery is a scam and is not exactly 5020 mAh. I know this because I'm a victim of this too on my older phone, I literally have the same issue. I suggest to get a new replacement, making sure to get it from official Mi Store or service center. In the meantime, calibrate your battery by emptying to 0% (till the phone dies) then charge to 100% while off. Repeat a couple of times and the battery percentage should display correctly. There's also a suggestion of clearing batterybin stats or similar to Poco x3 Pro where you calibrate PMIC, no harm in trying because I tried it before too and it didn't seem to cause any issues.
Here's a link to the guide if you're interested:

But the same issue happened on the original battery also
"I cant remember what all but i think whatever was available to wipe, I wiped"
So you wiped internal storage? That's probably causing issues.
Yep I think I did or at least some of it idk.. Can that be fixed?
Re-flash Stock ROM.
BTW: Always use Android USB drivers provided by phone's OEM, not those found in Android platform SDK. Then phone should get detected via USB.
