Do you mean no activesync by no USB? Try flashing it again through bootloader screen or try flashing the official rom of your provider through the bootloader.

Once at the bootloader screen, what do you do next? I've been stuck here for a little while now and can't figure out what to do while in this mode.

Yes, I've been over that, and some of the related links from that thread, but so far I still can't find the missing piece. All of the tips point to using an updater to load Wizard Love, but I still get a communication error. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
I'd also point out that while this may be my third 4th post, I'm not really new at this. I am new at having problems. I've flashed this phone probably a dozen times in the past year and have never had a problem. I've going over the sticky threads and tutorials, but what I'm missing is how I actually get wizard love to load. So far, it still does a check for the phone through activesync, then tries to run RUUGetinfo.exe and EnterBootloader.exe to which copies nk.nbf. So far the central issue seems to be establishing a connection. Since I am already in the boot loader (the red, green, blue, white screen) I need to be able to copy nk.nbf, which is what I cannot figure out. So far, I haven't found anything useful on this.

When you just plugin USB cable. Does it say USB on the left bottom of your screen? After this you should just use the RUU. Maybe it helps to uncheck allow USB connections in activesync.
Most people having problems flashing from bootloader (communication error) can succesfully flash from another XP machine. Have you tried that?

Hi there,
I installed a bunch of stuff on the AKU3.2 Rom H-tec innov / O2 ROM which i found on the ftp and now when i soft-reset the phone, it either gets stuck (in windows) on Today, where it only loads like half of it and is consequently stuck or it resets again...
How would I be able to solve this issue having that it doesn't connect to ActiveSync?
Thanks a bunch,
John

OK let me clarify.... phone is totally unresponsive. I turn it on, HTC Innovation screen pops then the O2 with all the version, it loads windows and you can't really do anything but turn it off... or hard reset which doesn't help because the next time it loads, it just does the same thing...
What can I do

Thanks for your reply, could you direct me please to somewhere where i can read of how to put it in bootloader mode? I have no idea and I can't find it in the manual. Thanks
If you want, you can IM me on YIM: ionutz_ceo
Thanks a lot
I've achieved putting it into bootloader mode, how would I go about reflashing now?
lol, ok!
So basically this is the result of my 2 hour research::
If you're Wizard is frozen, you do this:
1. Turn off USB in ActiveSync
2. Download mtty
3. While phone is off, press Camera button then holding it press Power button on phone and it will load in bootloader mode
4. Connect mtty to the phone via usb
5. <<< Here is when my research parts ways
6a. You can use a sd card and put an image on it, using mtty reflash the phone (don't know how to do that or where to get the image)
6b. There's another way of reflashing the phone...
Can anyone fill me in on that?

That seems a bit more complicated than what is really needed.
Assuming that your device was a G3 before you started, you are CID unlocked and you didn't overwrite incompatible bootloaders on a G4 device by using a G3 only ROM:
Once you are in bootloader, connect your USB cable. You should see the letters USB in the lower corner of your device.
Reflash with an official AKU2 ROM (latest available from your carrier's website.)
to do this once you are in bootloader mode and see USB in the lower corner execute the rom installer.
Don't flash an AKU3 Rom until you read all the threads completely on them. Several programs that work with AKU2 do not work with AKU3 and will freeze your device - Which appears to be what you are experiencing. There is still work being done on AKU3 and they aren't for mainstream use yet. There are driver incompatibilities, database restructures and such that haven't been accounted for in some software. The most common issues are documented repeatedly in every AKU3 ROM thread.

Yes I agree with this the other option is a bit more complicated. This is much easier
@ ionutzu
Please update how the solutions above worked for ya. Zzan's solution is standard and most used along with being the easiest & should definitely work.
^^ you guys are wonderful!
Pretty much this is how it works, I couldn't find the "easy" solution anywhere, but now I figured it out.
1. Turn on phone holding camera button + power button
2. Connect via USB
3. Make sure USB is written in bottom left corner of PPC screen
4. Run an original ROM update (that is, the ones coming straight from T-Mob, I've tried it with other roms, it doesn't work)
5. It should work, you should have a fresh copy
6. I guess put your customized rom and try again....
Thanks for the help.

Glad it worked out for you.
Got my Trinity in the mail today and started the process of pimping it up to xda-developers' standards.
1. Ran SSPL-TRIN.exe without problems from "HTC Trinity SIM & CID Unlock - v1")
2. Ran ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Dialog on PC said upgrade was successful, but screen was black on device
3. Soft reset device. Windows Mobile (green screen) shows, but never goes away. Repeated this procedure 3 times (waited over 5 min each time)
4. Hard reset device. HTC logo shows with numbers "M 05, B 05, D 1.16" showing for 5 seconds. The text "No GSM" appears for 1 second and disappears with the numbers. Only the HTC logo on white is on the screen, forever.
Any ideas? Would hate to have bricked my phone after only a couple of hours.
I can get into the three color screen. I attempted to run ROMUpdateUtility, as I wrote before, again, but I get an error message on the PC saying that the ROM is corrupted, after which my device resets. (To HTC screen, forever, like I wrote above)
Sounds like a bricked device already.
There is a lot of information on this problem in the Hermes Wiki and forum. You may find some useful information there to help unbrick.
Sorry mate.

Is there a way I can obtain a rom that will be accepted by my bootloader? I checked on the FTP, but there's nothing there (anymore?)
If so, perhaps I could flash over to a standard one, then start over.

Chek here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Trinity_Upgrades
Will try them all now. Results with all roms thus far have been:
Progress bar on both PC and phone moves to 1%, then:
a) Phone reboots & PC displays error "invalid vender ID" or b) Phone reboots & PC displays error about image being corrupt
Good news!
I went to a HTC service center where I live (Oslo, Norway). They said they could fix it in 15 min. (flash the device with an original ROM using more advanced equipment than a USB cable)
After about 10 min. the guy comes back with the phone, which now has the exact same screen I was stuck on and concludes that the motherboard is broken. I told them how I had only owned the phone for a day and they offered to replace the motherboard for free (took a few hours).
Once I got back home with the repaired phone, I was pretty nervous about flashing it again, but everything went perfectly.
Congrats friend... let me tell you that you got balls to re-flash your new device after the repair .

Actually, I'd suggest adding to the Wiki that any flash should always be done directly from the SD card (as per instructions in the wiki) to avoid PC/USB problems. After bricking my Hermes because of a USB comm problem, I always flash from the card directly. Much faster and safer.

First of all i do not know where to post this. I have had a HTC wizard for over a year now. it has been working fine after cooking up wm6 and installing it for 6 months. today when i restartet the phone pulling the battery out and inserting it, the phone starts up, then the blue screen comes and shows ispl etc, then windows image shows, there it stops. i do not know what to do. It has been a while since i did pocket pc modding now, and i have forgotten all about it.
Alexander, [email protected]
Maybe something crashed the OS software.
Hope you have a system backup, or at least PIM backup using ActiveSync because what you need now is a hard reset.
Punching the reset hole (next to IR window) while holding CommManager+VoiceDial, then press "Dial" as prompted.
how do i hard reset my dash/s620?
i have tried hard reset
i have hard reset the phone. i do not have any backup in active sync. and i dont think that matters. because my phone does not connect to activesync since it does not start up. and in the three colored boot mode the phone is not detected by active sync. when i hard reset the phone it just came to the same point and freezed
If you didn't touch the ROM for long time, then it is probably a hardware failure...

READ YOUR PHONE MANUAL, and THIS IS NOT DASH FORUM.
hard to believe
First off, thanks for fast responses.
It cant be hardware(Not as a total theory of course) or likely not, because phone was not touched by water, shock, bumb fire or anything. it laid on my desk, worked, laid on my dask more, freezed. and it has been working for 6 months with wm6. is there anyway i can flash something into it. without activesync, but in the three colored boot mode?
Get into bootloader, plug in your usb cord and give it a minute...ON THE TRI-COLORED SCREEN do you see in the bottom corner "USB"??? If yes, you are OK. Get a stock rom such as the Tmo 2.26 and flash that. If you do not see "USB" in the bottom corner then as far as I know, you are fukd.
For more info on issues, read the linky in my siggy. There is valuable info there that may help with other ways to flash a rom.
Good luck.
i see usb
thanks, guess i am not fked then
Only problem is i have forgotten all about this now, and that i am sorry for.
But i have to ask you, as from norway wich stock rom to choose, what is stock rom, and when you say bootloader, is that an expression for the three colored screen or is that a program, that can flash in three colored screen? Thanks, i do not expect an answer on this noob questions, but i would really apreciate answers.
stock rom & bootloader
stock rom is the rom which comes with ur phone while purchasing it.. u can call it base rom..bootloader is tri-coloured screen which is bios for ppc if it gets fked then phone is bricked..next time if u cant boot up, then u can flash ur phone with the help of bootloader...
that was fast
thanks, but i do not think i have the rom that came with my mobile phone:/
and i do not know how to flash from tri colored screen, because all the files i have tried cant detect my phone.
ipl adn spl are 3.08 if that helps anything.
that was fast
is there an app you use to flash from tri colored
there is no need for any app, just connect ur phone to tri-coloured screen..u willl see usb in down left corner.. then ur phone is connected then run RUU utility.. if any problem comes i am online at hotmail... [email protected]
Can you power down? If not, remove battery for 1 seconds, the re-insert. Then press all at once the camera, comm and power buttons (or I believe you can also press the camera and soft reset. It is in the wiki explaining, as are some stock roms. Use any stock rom if you plan on flashing a cooked rom. The Tmo 2.26 is a decent stock rom, there is a 3.08 on the forum somewhere that you can also use. Get a stock rom. Get into the tri-colored bootloader. Look to see if it says usb in the bottom corner. If yes, connect your cable and using the ruu from the stock rom, flash your phone. Once a stock rom is installed follow the directions to cid/sim unlock your phone. Once unlocked, you can flash any cooked rom.
PS- I am assuming you have a G3 phone.
PPS- reading the wiki and the stickies are very helpful. Give them a try.

Ouch... Tried to install new rom and seem to have buggered up the phone. I get the infamous tri-color screen with usb connection to mtty.... nothing else. I cannot connect through active sync, etc. and of course the phone will not boot into WM. Tri-color screen indicates "security unlocked" , DIAM500 SPL-0.057.0000, MicroP-Diam (LED) VB.
After lots of reading the only option I see is using mtty to install a "working" ROM on the phone but cannot figure out how to accomplish this. Looks like you would need to know a starting address and length of the file in order to use the lnbs command to transfer the image?
Any thoughts or am I just wasting time (which I already have done)

OK, first thing is to just breathe a few times.
Second is to start reading. Please see link in my signature before doing anything else. Read it, digest it and follow it..
There is a process for flashing a ROM. First, you need to flash Hard-SBL. This does invalidate your warranty (but you must have realised that already right..?)
I believe the phone is locked. Is there any way to unlock from mtty?

Ok, first of all, I've not personally used MTTY. I've done a forum search on it but not turned up much. Having come from the Blue Angel, I've had to re-learn everything in order to flash a ROM.
Now, did you read the Wiki or did you just automatically think you knew what you were doing..?
Follow this at your own risk. I'm working on limited knowledge here..
As far as I know, your Diamond appears to be in Bootloader mode. The fact that you have the "USB" words on your screen, your PC is going to be able to communicae with the Diamond. (one assumes that it is connected to the PC - Does it say "Serial" when the cable is disconnected..?). Activesync will not show up as connected but you're still going to be able to communicate with it..
From there, you need to download and run Hard-SPL. I would go for the developers edition.
Once the Hard-SPL has been run, you need to choose a ROM - That will be your choice..
Follow this thread to clarify exactly what you need to do..

Let me know how you get on..
Cheers,
I have tried flashing this new Tilt 2 several times. It, the PC software and the progress graph on the Tilt 2, always stay stuck at 0% progress, the PC app times out after about 5 min's. Then I reboot the Tilt2 and it comes back to its usual annoying self (with AT&Ts irritating splash screen) and works fine.
I have tried:
Rhodium-HardSPL_V2_00R3_185HSPL
Energy.RHODIUM.23569.Sense2.5.MaxSense.Jul.10.7z
and others with the same result.
I have even tried a hardware reboot (Power + Vol-) with a ROM image on the Micro SD card and all I get is the tri-colour screen with the word SERIAL near the bottom.
I have owned and flashed HTC Hermes, Ty-TNII and an I-Mate Ultimate 8205 with out any problems.
There must be a reason for this odd behavior and hopefully a solution.

First off have you installed hardspl ? If not then you will not be able to install any custom ROM till you do. I suggest that you go to the hardspl thread and read on how to flash it, once you do then you can flash any GSM ROM you like..
You may need to install the enablerapinew.cab before the Hardspl will run. Just do a search on site and you'll find it.
read first ask questions later!!
yeah read, read, then read some more and then if you have question ask lol. it is very easy and i came on and asked a lot of questions that i ended up answering for myself when i read through the posts. [email protected] i can be reached any time and answer any question
