Couple of questions about voice-dialing in WM5.
I purchased MS Voice Command 1.5 and loved it on 2003SE, but:
1) Does it work with the latest WM5 ROMs?
2) Is there a way to initiate a command from a BT headset?
Not concerning MS VC:
3) What other options are available, and what are the best?
Thanks!
1. At the moment MS Voice Command 1.5 does not work in the new WM5 AKU ROMs (at least it didn't last time I tried!!)
Once you install the app it runs once then states there's been an error and refuses to run again!
2. Within WM2003SE if you have the A2DP profile set with your headset (assuming it's stereo?) then you can initiate a call/command via BT, I used it quite a bit...
3. Alternatives are the following:
Cyberon Voice Dialler (I don't like this as you have to record all the voice tags as there is no speech recognition engine.
VITO Voice2Go/VITO VoiceDialler (I liked this in its previous incarnation but haven't tried the new version with 2K3 or WM5)
If you search the forum for Voice Command you'll find plenty of threads about getting these apps working, and working with BT...
Thanks for the response. I'll search the forums and see if there is anything else that I can find.
FYI, I just have a headset that supports handsfree (Jabra JX 10).
I love cyberion voice commander just becaues it doesn't make all the voicetags itself. I think this is why the device is called a pda with the P for Personal, everyone his/her own opinion.
Since english is not my native language and voicecommander always want to make it sound as english it's not good for me.
And suggsjc i love your signature "If the world didn't suck, we would all fall off..." . I borrowed it several times now to friends of mine, interpreting it as a positive thought
Well I guess to each their own. I (P)ersonally liked it having all of the tags created for me. I could find a contact that I rarely used (and wouldn't have created a tag for) with just using voice commands. But having the choice is a good thing.
Despite the glitches with some software in WM5, overall I am very pleased. Much nicer and more refined than 2003SE.
Glad to hear that my sig is popular
All,
I was wondering if the built in WM6 Voip client can be activated or be put in if it does not yet exist in the WM6 builds.....
Currently I use Fring for my Voip calls, but I would really like to use the built in client for better native support.
Other WM Voip clients are also welcome....
Cheers,
HJ
Had the same problem i thought that the built-in VoIP client ships with WM6 but it didn't find it on my TyTN II, you can download it from here
ftp://xda:[email protected]/WM6VoIP.CAB
you can find the SipCofigTool very nice utility to config VoIP

Hi Mrabie,
Are you still using VOIP? Please confirm if it used the standard dial pad and if it also uses the front speaker?
Cheers!
There's nothing for the Kaiser that uses the front speaker yet.
Do we know what this is? I assume you mean Voice Over IP (WM6 Built in) currently uses the loud speaker.
One would assume the normal phone speaker could be used (since my old Hermes could).
Hi Guys
I am using my company's VoIP service though my TyTn II. Everything is great! And the voice is came out from the ear speaker.
I installed the SIP Config Tool v. 2.0.1 and WM6VoIP.cab
Thank you

Great!
I have loaded the 2 cabs and have made some minor progress.
If i reboot the Tytn II is says connected for a moment then it goes to 'searching'. This is over the home wifi network.
When i first loaded the cabs and tried to initiate a call, it did show my voip provider in the dial pad, but now i cant replicate that to test it actually works.
What should i do?
Cheers
Edit: it now says 'available' om the today screen, but i cant get it to dial out using the voip connection. Note that i have not set up dial plans yet. but i think i have made good progress so far!

tap on the name , it needs to show as "selected".
let us know if it works for you.
I can only receive calls.
interestingly, nothing ever arrive on the voip server when i try to make a call; i run my own voip server (asterisk) , and no packet ever make it to the server from the windows mobile device...
warning, numbers must be numeric only, no + or # etc...
Do you mean to select it from the 'Today screen'
If that is what you mean, then when i click on it it takes me to the phone settings tab for internet calling.
Mind you, in that tab it states:
Internet Calling
To set the calling network for your next call, select BBPglobal (my Voip account) on the Today screen.
options: whenever available
Only if cellular is not available
Never
I have it set to whenever available and have also enabled GRS/GSM calls as per SIP config 2.01.
Whilst it now always shows that it is available, i dont see how else i can select it.
if you move the cursor in the today screen to go on the voip plugin, press OK (the button, not using the touch screen) you can change the status to "selected"
Forgot to add: your SIP server must support g711 (ulaw or alaw) codec... none of the low-bandwidth codec work

I move the today screen curser to highlight the voip plugin, but nothing happens when i hit OK or press the big silver button in the middle.
Regarding the SIP server sip2.BBPglobal.com does support g711. Well i was thinking that the phone simply makes a connection to the wireless router (Asus WL500gP running DD-WRT v23sp2) and that would be it. I could be wrong but i think this way simply because i replicated the SIP settings from my ATA (Linksys SPA2102).
Plus i would imaging that when using the VOIP over 3G that it connects with the same settings from the SipConfigTool1.02
Have i missed the boat somehow?
can you tell us which version of WM6VOIP.cab you are using - as in my version the sound comes out of the loudspeaker instead of the earspeaker?
any suggestions?
Would be also interresting for me.
I've tested 3 Types of VOIP software.
- Fring => Comes out of the loudspeaker
- Pocket Talk => Comes out of the loudspeaker
- Prop. WM6 => Could not connect.
Kind Regards
Seppl
I can use Fring/X-lite but the sound comes through the speaker. The WM6 native client can logon but not make any calls (same message as the poster above). I think I can receive calls though (but I have not tried).

Hi,
the first link is about Hermes?! I tried it, but it creates two today plugin...why?!
Is it possible that on the latest Kaiser native ROM some parts of WM&VoIP.CAP is already installed even if there is no Internet Tab under Pgone Settings?
Second: I had universal befor and a cooked rom, and when I clicked on the today plugin I could select or unselect voip for calling. With this cab instead, if I click on the today plugin, I enter into Start->Settings->Phone->Internet.
Third: I looked at ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Kaiser/VoIP/ and there is a SleuthKaiserVoIP.cab...what is it?? Maybe the WM6VoIP.cab versio for Kaiser?

How many versions are there?
Codec ???
What codecs are supported by the built in VOIP? Maybe the issue of not able to make a call could be codec related like in any other VOIP softwares.

Thank you.
I have not tried it, but this should work
I'm not certain this is the app I'm looking for...
In the standard ATT WM6.1 ROM there was an application related to bluetooth, located in start-programs.
I can't recall what it looked like, but I do recall there was a plethora of BT-related options there (if I recall correctly - they were BT profiles).
This app only seems to search for BT devices (immediately uopn execution). The app I'm looking for did not do this.
Turns out it's not a different BT manager, but rather
That the BT Profiles tab appears in BT manager application in some variants of the ROM ,and is missing in others....
Is there any way to check/uncheck which BT Mnager tabs are turned ON?
I double checked Schaps Advanced Config 3.3, but couldn't find any reference.
Thanks.
This BT explorer doesnt work under Win 6.5 Touch Hd soft Miri v.38
Any advise how to install bluetooth explorer for win 6.5?

Getting same problem here.
Trying to install BTExplorer in WM6.5. Nome Works..
Any idea or solution?
Hi,
I just bought my first PDA phone, HTC touch diamond. The build-in Opera 9.5 browser is amazing, and I found a way to change the browser agent from msmobile.com.
My question is: can we let Opera 9.5 disguised as a Safari browser? (NetFront can do this.)
Another question is about the Wi-Fi and network settings. I have to set a dedicate IP address for Wi-Fi device in our office, and changes the setting as DHCP in other places, however, the network card settings in the Windows Mobile 6.1 seems can only keep one configuration by default.
Is there any add-on or software to keep different IP settings and let user quick change the configuration?
The final question is about the FM radio function: Can we re-route the audio output to Bluetooth earphone when listening FM radio?
Thanks in advance for replies.
Jeffrey
I found a software named "WLAN IP Manager" that can keep different IP configurations.
thanks,
jeffrey
I've read several threads on this but the results still arent clear. Some say it works, but only with mic, some say it breaks GPS, some say it doesnt work on WM6.5.
My question is:
Is there any tool available to connect my Raphael WM6.5 using WIFI to a SIP provider (not skype!), and also use the buildin audio / microphone like a regular phone, without breaking any stuff?
I'm willing to pay for this software!
WM6.5 Raphael
ROM: 5.11.502.2 WWE
Rom date: 10/25/09
Radio: 1.11.25.01
Model No: HTC Touch Pro t7272
ce os 5.2.23081 build: 23081.5.3.0)
CPU: QUALCOMM(R) 7201A 528 mhz
RAM: 288MB
I've used Fring to do just that and it worked fine. There's a setting to use the regular earpeice. If it matters, the last time I installed/used Fring was a few versions of the Energy ROM ago - but it did work fine for me and didn't break anything.
you can use Audio Router application to forward the audio to your ear piece ( not the loud speaker ) or bluetooth hand free if available .
for the SIP application, you can use old SIP dialers like X-PDA, Fring or ..... . there are many sip dialers that u can find if u do the search.
Another program for transferring the audio to the earpiece is Audioswitch and you can use it with mortscript to make the process automatic when ever u run your app.
Search in the forum , there are many threats about this.
Tnx
Thunder
Thanks a lot guys! How does this work with Fring? Because after i install it i need to provide a fring username and password instead of my office sip server address and username / password..
Found the answer, there's some hidden tabs there when u use wm6.5 on raphael.
Its not very stable though Sound quality is bad even when i'm on top of my 108mbit wifi router.
