I have unlocked my phone using the tutorial in the forum. I am in Taiwan right now and after putting a sim card which is a carrier in Taiwan, my cingular 8125 ask me to input a pin #. So, am I missing something ? any other action I need to take in order to use the phone oversea with foreign career?
Thanks.

Did you SIM unlock? Or did you just Super CID unlock? They are very different.

Any way to easily verify my phone is unlocked?

Other than using another provider's SIM card, that is. I believe I properly unlocked my Tilt and I want to sell it as such but I want to make sure it works correctly with someone other than At&t. Any help? Thanks.
Find a friend with tmobile and get his sim card. Place it in your Tilt and if there's coverage, it's unlocked, if not then it's locked.

I used a CID/SIM unlocker before my first flash and now after every hard reset/new flash there is a connection setup that connects me to ATT after I put in my SIM. I believe that means I am successfully unlocked, so you should get the same message.
the connection setup runs because the rom is used by potentially all carriers, so it figures out what carrier you are using and connects to it. not because you are unlocked
to the op search "kaiser CID/SIM unlocker" rub the program straight through FOLLOWING ALL DIRECTIONS IN THE THREAD. this means you must first read the thread and the thread will tell you what to do.

I don't need spoon fed. This is what I did to unlock the phone. What I am looking for is an alternate way to verify the phone is unlocked other than the program I used to unlock it. This is important because I do not want to sell the phone and have it not work for someone.
run the program \windows\simlock.exe , if it doesnt launch or launches with a blank screen, then your phone is unlocked
I was going to say that, but XtreMe_G beat me to it!
I can also verify that though: just run \Windows\SIMLock.exe and if nothing happens then you're unlocked. If the handset asks you for the subsidy code, then you are not unlocked.

Yes, there is an alternative way to check if your phone is unlocked. Go and purchase a prepay Tmobile phone. They're relatively cheap, it should come with a sim card with some minutes on it. I'm contracted w/ ATT, also have an ATT prepay account and 4 tmobile blank sim cards. All sims work with my unlocked phone. If it didnt, you'll get an error on the phone stating that the sim doesn't work (or something like that).

Unlocking problem

Hi,
I've recently purchased a at&t tilt off of ebay the guy promised me the unlock code after numerous emails he finally gave one, tried it twice and told him it didn't work so he gave me another one tried it twice still didn't work finally he said that he's going to get the true code from at&t he gave it to me but that one didn't work so now I've tried 5 times.....did i permanently locked the phone? is there still a chance of unlocking this phone?
Please help

u need to follow the steps in the link that elypsar posted.
If those steps I have followed them but not it leaves me since 3 attempts of unfreezing have put and single it lets make calls of emergency as desdues can be the solution to do several hard spl and cid unlock if káiser it does not respond thanks
@bananascom: If you mean that your SIM card got locked due to 3 wrong PINs then it's not the Kaiser at fault, you need to unblock the SIM with the PUK code you have received with it or call your operator.
If it's not that then try to write some better English as I don't thing anyone understood the problem...
Good the one is not sim is to káiser that is blocked since the 3 attempts were those of the code of the operator who could do The one of the language is that I am of Spain and I use a translator to write I feel thanks for your aid

Okay if you had done reading first hand you wouldn't be in this problem right now ... but alas many of us, including me, don't bother reading until the hammer falls on our heads. Take this as a lesson and read before you do anything to your device in the future.
As far as phone being locked ... there are two types: sim and than keylock. If sim than you need the puk code just as you have been told before. If you forgot keylock code than you need to hard reset the device as i don't know of any other way of reteriving that info.
No is el sim is el operator de la Kaiser at&t thanks

ook, dont know what that means, but I have contacted a member that speaks spanish and I hope he will drop by and solve your problem in spanish(maybe).
Your SIM Is locked. CALL your service provide to get them to unlock THE SIM, then use this to unlock the rest of your phone:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361039
Done.
Still locked
Now i've installed a hardspl read somewhere it's supposed to prevent your kaiser from being bricked and did the kaiser customruu but now i'm trying to sim unlock the tilt but every time i open the kaiserunlocker.exe it give me an application error and when i try to use the kaiserunlocker2.exe it restarts the computer..... what I'm i doing wrong? or is there a version i should look out for?

how to unlock g1 without foreign sim card?

I just received unlock instructions from tmobile, including the unlock code. The first step, howwver, is to insert a foreign sim card. I haven't left the country yet so I don't have one. Is there a way to proceed without a foreign sim card? I had a brand new sim card lying around and I tried using that, but after reboot it never asked me for the unlock code it just booted up into the home screen and asked me to sign into gmail. Any suggestions?
In wich carrier is the phone locked now? Tmo? If is on Tmo, and the sim isnt from Tmo, then your phone is already unlocked...if the sim is from the same carrier than your phone, then you need another carrier sim to unlock it...
He wants to unlock his phone without a foreign sim card. When you unlock, to be able to see the Unlock Code input screen a different sim card than your carriers must be in the phone. He wants to unlock without the second sim card.
I hope I am allowed to post this

You are perfectly allowed to post that, however that is not what he is looking for at all.
Just find a friend with AT&T and borrow their SIM card for the 5 minutes it takes to unlock the phone.
Dang, I used to work for T-Mobile in the PDA dept and never realized this limitation. I don't *know* anyone who has an AT&T phone and am selling my G1, need to be able to get it unlocked. Everyone I know uses either T-Mobile, Verizon or Sprint. I would hate to have to send the buyer the unlock code and have them do it themselves. Almost any other phone has a # code to type in, why not the G1?
Looks like it's not a G1 thing but a T-mobile thing. I had to use another non T-mobile SIM to unlock my HD7 as I am selling it.

The best thing you can do is see if any of your friend has a different carrier sim (IE: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint) and put it in. After you turn on the phone, it will then come up with the box that prompt you to put in your unlock code.
I have a UK SIM card coming in a couple of days, and I have received my unlock code from TMO. I will not be traveling to the UK until September, but want to test the unlock code now just in case TMO messed it up. is there any downside to inserting the UK SIM card in the G1 in the US just for unlocking purposes?
For more input, my phone is rooted, running DWANG 1.6 ROM. I intend to do a full nandroid backup prior to testing, and will also delete quite a few of my apps prior to traveling since I don't want to have lots of data usage when I am overseas. When I get back home I will restore from my backup. Anybody see any flaws with this plan?
Thanks.

O2 PAYG HD7's sold unlocked?

Ok this is odd! I received my hd7 yesterday and immediately set about getting it unlocked once i had done the basic set up. Because of what i have read so far on numereous forums i automatically assumed the phone ould be locked and went to one of the two sites suggested here to purchase my code. Within 5 mins i had my unlock code for the sum of £19 something.
So i then read through the email and go to follow the instructions. The first instruction states that i should put in a SIM card from a different network. So i put in the t-mobile SIM i intend to use with the HD7 and would you believe it ITS UNLOCKED?! The phone tile shows T-Mobile as the network and i check and see if i can make and receive calls...all work fine?
Now my question is: was my hd7 unlocked when i purchased it? (bought online from o2 uk payg) or did the guys fromm the unlock site do some sort of jiggery-pokery that unlocked my phone OTA via my IMEI number?
Didnt O2 and Tmobile recent join forces to some extenet. I think they share the same network now so that may be why.
I bought a PAYG one yesterday and my vodafone simcard didnt work so bought the unlock code.

It can't be unlocked OTA, so it must have been shipped unlocked.
That was too good to be true…after appearing to be unlocked my HD7 has
now decided to lock itself. It is giving me this message:
"This sim card can only be used on specific networks. Contact your customer service centre for the unlock code"
I've attempted 3 different PINS (1210, 0000 and 0000 again) with my T-Mobile SIM card in incorrectly so i guess i now need to get a PUK code. The question is who do i go to get this from T-Mobile (my current netwoork) or O2.

Errmm, That unlock code it's asking you for is not the SIM PIN, it's the unlock code you paid for from the site, I hope you did not guess it incorrect too many times otherwise you can lockout the phone completely.
OH GOD! you were right...that message was basically asking for the unlock code i paid for. Once i punched the code in it accepted it and i appear to be up and running again.
still find it odd that the phone acted like it was unlocked for a brief period before i had unlocked it!
thank you!
Glad it worked, good job you have not tried to guess the code 10 times otherwise you would never have got it unlocked.
Your right though, seems odd that it let you use it the first time, it's all software based anyway so guess it was a glitch.

Hi I work for o2 UK and it sounds to me like you luckily got a device set up for a contract. O2 only tend to sim lock the payg devices now. The salesman probably picked up the wrong device.

[Q] Activating the HD7

Hi all
This is hopefully the last factor in deciding whether I will get the HD7 or not.
I read on cellhub that you have to "Activate on Delivery". What does this mean? Can you not use the phone before it is activated or does it only need to be activated on T-Mobile if you are using it on T-Mobile?
Thanks again.

not sure what that is, mine arrived, poped in the sim, had touns of trouble with importing contacts, but once I got past that, the phone works just fine out of the box.
Im Tmobile USA.
now using the empty OS it self is a whole other issue
If you mean an iPhone like iTunes dependent activation there is none. Just pop the sim in and you are ready to go. In fact, I didn't even entered a SIM when I first opened it
Ok, great, thanks very much.
Were you two both on contracts or prepaid?
I will be purchasing the phone and then using it in South Africa so I don't want it to get here only to find out that it has to be activated with a T-Mobile sim card
You mean unlocked/locked phone. If you bought yourself an unlocked phone there shouldn't be any problem with your SIM . Just as I did
No, I know I'll need to unlock it.
I want to know if the actual phone has to be activated by T-Mobile before it can be used.
Do I require cables, software or any technical knowledge?
Unlocking your HTC phone by HTCimeiUnlock.com is very simple. You don't need any cables, software or technical knowledge. All you have to do in order to unlock your phone is to switch it on with a not allowed SIM card and simply use your phone's keypad to enter the eight digit unlock code provided by us!
