I leave my cell on my dock a lot. When I get a MMS message it never downloads and it stalls.
Is there a way to make it download them from GPRS when on the dock?

I was setting up my friends t-mobile dash so that their phone wouldn't connect to the internet unless it was through a wifi connection and I noticed that the phone had a tmobile internet connection AND a tmobile mms connection.
I deleted my AT&T Medianet connection on my tilt because I don't want to rack up data fees dealing with the internet, but after that I can no longer send MMS messages. Is there a way to set-up the AT&T tilt to allow for MMS messages to still be sent but keep the phone from connecting to the internet?
Nope. MMS needs Data Connection to function.
Unless I'm forgetting something.
Hi,
I have a problem with the GPRS and Wireless connection. I am using Windows Live mail and and set it up so it is manually synchronized! Same with other mail accounts.
But, every time I connect to the internet using wireless and then press Send/Recieve, it keeps opening GPRS and use it to retrieve new e-mails and ignores my wireless connection!!! Which is really annoying.
How do I fix that?
I have exactly the same... but then with internet sharing with my laptop... keeps using my gprs/3g instead off the wifi that is 100 times faster.
annoying
and it is really annoying as you said, it is much faster with wifi and for people like me where I do not have monthly GPRS data included, it's really annoying and costs a lot.
Earlier, I had my e-mail to automatically download new emails daily and suddenly, I got a huge phone bill because of that problem!! So, e-mails are downloaded manually now until I fix the problem!!

Newer Windows Live always tries to connect using your default Internet Connection even when you are already online. To solve this, you need to go to:
Start->Settings->Connections->Advanced->Select Networks. Change everything to My Work Network.
With this, Windows Live won't try to connect when you have active internet connection. The problem now is, if you have no active internet connection, it will force your device to connect to your gprs/3g but will fail to work. You will need to reset the setting above to your gprs/3g connection.
yes but
Yes but chaning preferences for my network would result in not having my mms working, or gprs when I need it?
However, I have to go back to settings and change everything again to get things to work!!!! I would rather have a solution than a workaround
not working

Have you tried NoDATA with HTC Diamond with WM6.1?? NoData seems to be an old cab file for older versions of WM?
Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to make the kaiser only use gsm? I just want to use wifi for the internet connection and not have it try to connect to gprs or 3g or edge or anything, but I want to be able to send sms (text messages) still. is there a way? thank you.
yeah if you remove the grps settings in settings->connections-connections
called my isp or something like that or the name of your isp
then the device cant use phone data network and will not try to
will it still be able to send txt messages?
yes phones could send sms's long before there was anything called gprs which is what gsm internet is called
I flashed the hyperdraggon III Blackstone rom, and it is beautiful, nopticed I am not getting any pic msg's lately but they are in my inbox

Yep, it's simple. Change your connection from ISP to MediaNet. That my friend is your problem.
Now Pay Me
this could be a wm6 problem rather than an x1 problem, but I figured I'd start here. I have an x1a, using it with Tmobile. I have the full data plan, and I can't seem to get the internet and MMS working all at the same time. If internet works then mms tells me i need to "switch connections" to receive an mms" and so I tell it to do it, but then I can't send email or mms, unless I reboot, maybe. I'm thinking its something simple, like maybe I need to specify which connection mms should use, and which connection internet should use, and etc....I'm not sure if they should all be set to the same or different, and if so, which one(s).
Can someone using an x1 and Tmobile tell me what connection settings they use?
does MMS use the "tmobile internet" "Tmobile data" "Tmobile mms"?
does internet use "tmobile internet" or Tmobile data"?
Thanks,
Ian
I don't think it's possible for data and mms to be used at the same time.
Also i'm on an x1i on t-mobile
T-mobile MMS
Wap.voicestream.com
on the proxy settings tab, don't check this network connects to the internet
T-mobile Data
internet2.voicestream.com
on the proxy settings tab, check this network connects to the internet
Thank you very much! That was exactly what I needed, but didn't get from Tmobile "third tier" but didn't get in 1 hr and 15 minutes.
all better!
you are able to use data settings for mms so you dont need to switch networks everytime you send a mms.
mayhaps i spoke too soon. I'm still not able to send mms, and I am still prompted from time to time to allow the phone to switch connections in order to send/receive mms. the one thing that is improved now at least is that i can download mms.
any suggestions on what to do to fix any of the above problems?
i'm sorry, but i don't think it's possible to use t-mobile data for both data and mms at the same time. I got these settings directly from tier 3 tech support.
Try taking a picture, then sending it to yourself. It should say that it will change connections then it should connect to T-mobile MMS. Once that's done, it should send the MMS(takes approx 15 seconds to send). You should receive it shortly after
