Lost phone calls while audio internet streaming with WMP

If windows media player is on and playing a URL (audio streaming) my calls are diverted to voicemail automatically.
If I play a music file from my storage card with WMP I will get a notification of an incoming call.
How can I set the Att Tilt up to get the same notification while WMP does audio internet streaming?
Thanks
Are you sure its not that the phone is not accepting calls when the 3G is on rather than specific to WMP?
In my area we do not have 3G
In my area we do not have 3G. I'm on Edge network.
BTW if I'm on the NET with explorer the phone will notify me for an incoming call. It is only with WMP!!!
THanks

I believe that's your problem. When you use EDGE, you can't do both calls and internet. At least that's been my experience.
But I CAN!!!

I can be on the internet browsing (on Edge) and I will get a notification of an incoming call. The problem is ONLY when I’m streaming radio with WMP or Real.

While you're streaming you have a constantly active data session. When you're browsing the web, you pull data then idle until you're ready to pull data again. I don't have a Kaiser yet so I can speak to that device specifically, but I know on my other phones this has been an issue.
Is there a registry setting that would allow data interruption for incoming calls?
Thanks

I'm fairly certain it's a network issue, not the phone. But I would be happy to see someone prove me wrong as I'll be using the Kaiser on an EDGE network too (at least for part of this year).

What are the benefits of this radio version? I mean what is different? When was it released? It is deffinately newer than the version I have. I just can't afford to miss calls while connected to GPRS. have you tried if that works?
Nevermind. I'll try it. Will report back after I tested it.
No missed calls so far txt goes through while connected to gprs seems to work better.
haven't tested battery drain yet
in htc wizard unfortunately there is no solution for when u connect gprs.you will miss all you calls toward to you when you connect gprs(my gsm company send me a sms when i got miss call)3G phones or pdas is one of the solution of course...anyway in this radio your advantages good reception, right battery percentage reading on windows mobile 6.1,no miss calls,no miss sms, pick up the signal quickly when you get low signal area etc....more people should test and they must relase their experience of course...cheers
odd. I got my calls through when I installed this radio. didnt loose any battery untill I did some heavy using of internet. ( I was downloading things) I was also at a bar all evening without reception and I see what you mean about picking up signal again quicker. right on!
Everything is f9 on this Radio, but i culdnt check GPRS problem becoz y use GPRS when u have a 768KBps Broadband Cable Internet Connection at your home? and which i can use using a Wireless router on my PPC.
lol. I don't have hi speed internet at home so I'm always on gprs. and this is the best signal I have. I haven't used my phone as a wireless router yet though. that's something to look into.
and I dont get missed calls or missed sms while connected to gprs.

Very rightly said, everyone doesn't have a high speed internet at home, secondly you don't carry around the Broadband Cable Internet Connection where ever you go,what wud you do if you have to immediately check your mails or need to work on the net, perhaps rush back to your home, leaving the job at hand to get access to the internet
The very basic feature of the 'GPRS' is to have the internet in your pocket and at hand, whenever required.
Besides,if you have a high speed Broadband cable connection at hand, then why access internet via PPC through wireless router, why not with pc ?

Bad news, you can't use Google Maps WITHOUT and internet connection of some kind, the only way to do it would be to put the phone into "flight mode" and find a WiFi access point.
Reason being the maps on Google Maps are not stored on the device, they are downloaded only when needed.
.G.
The only way I can think of to switch off the data connection would be to delete the connections in the Settings > Connections > Connections section.
Maybe the tiny app. called NoData is the thing you need.

Correct answer you can block GPRS with this program and it will not turn on automaticly again. You have to do it by hand. Google maps you have to use then by wifi.
Grtzzzz
just installed the NODATA app, works like a charm! shame i can't use google earth though,
cheers all!

[Q] 7740 update breaks streaming audio?

I received the internet connection sharing / HTC update a few weeks ago; internet sharing worked great but the battery life was seriously hit. I couldn't find any other bugs though.
Last week I received notification of the Microsoft 7740 update in Zune; it didn't mention specifics of what was being updated and didn't mention any HTC driver updates anywhere. I applied the update and immediately my battery life went back to "normal" HD7 performance (usually the entire day).
However, since this 7740 update I've not been able to get ANY audio-streaming apps to work either on the 3G conneciton or through Wifi. Apps such as 8tracks, Mixtapes, TuneIn radio etc will load as usual, but when I press play they will show only "connecting" constantly; audio will never play, no matter what channel I try or how many times I skip tracks.
Anybody else experiencing this? I've tried streaming music before / after turning on / off Internet Connection Sharing (in case that's triggering it) but it makes no difference. It's a real bummer since I used TuneIn radio a lot.

I've just noticed that Spotify has stopped working on my 7740 HD7. Can't get it to work with wi-fi or 3G.
Alright things are getting a bit weird.
After a bit of testing I've found that when I restart both my HD7 and my Wifi router at the same time, everything works perfectly as normal; streaming audio, internet, etc etc. When I disconnect from WiFi and go on 3G data, streaming is still working.
However, the trigger for problems seems to be internet connection sharing. Once I'm finished using ICS and I have it turned off, and I reboot my phone (or power cycle), I run into connection problems. The Wifi connection remains solid on reboot, but web pages rarely load and email and other live services grind to a halt. When I turn off Wifi, my 3G data works fine. Streaming services are borked completely at this stage though. To get things working again I have to reset my Wifi router.
My theory is that the bug where ICS resets the phones MAC address on the next reboot is confusing my Wifi router, and only a router reboot will fix the problem. This is a total pain in the hole and HTC need to immediately fix their drivers so that my HD7 has a constant MAC address.
People should understand battery life
Is going to suffer for everyone wo owns a cell phone
We love to play with them
All you do is buy a second battery for $6 on eBay
Then your set

This would be sound advice if it had anything to do with our thread.
Any theories on Wifi / data connection issues and streaming audio?
