When i installl the xda 6.0 rom it sticks with 99% en gives a error..
can anyone tell me how i get this away??
there's been at least 2 or 3 other posts like these in the past few days. common answer seems to be that you're phone is not properly unlocked. read this thread and follow EACH step. read it a few times if it's confusing.

I just received my Cingular 8125 refurbed. I believe I have a G3:
IPL 2.25
SPL 2.25
ROM 2.25.11.1 WWE
I tried using lokiwiz2b and got the ERROR: ITWriteDisk - An internal error occurred.
After reading about 50+ posts, it seems I am not the only one, but again it seems lokiwiz worked for many.
Can someone help me here where should I start from ? How can I SIM unlock this phone to use it with other carriers ?

You can't run lokiwiz .2b until you drop to a 1.xx ROM.
Please read, understand, and follow every step in this (and the posts it points you too) or you will kill your phone before the first day is out...

Just reading the Stickies at the top of the Wizard Upgrading and Wizard WM6 forums is enough to answer all of your questions. Also don't forget the Wiki. Everything you need (including SIM Unlocking) can be found here. We are willing to help, but we aren't willing to pick up the spoon and put it in your mouth for you
Also make sure to check the Wiki! Lots of useful info over there. (If you need any of the programs it talks about in the step by step posts let me know, I can reupload if your unable to get links to them)

Excellent thread link, I a regular at HF so know my way around there, but new to this forum so had a hard time looking for info. Thanks for the info.
Great my wizzard is stuck
its on 98% then de blue/green bar on my phone turned red en stays that way it doesnt do anything anymore, after a while my computer says the installation is finished, (SOMETIMES i get an error that has something to do with memory on my computer. or it says usb connection got lost or something)
i can reboot my phone but its going straight in the boot menu with those collors, i can try the downgrade rom again but it keeps getting stuck at 98%
anywone some suggestions?

on my second pc i get the message ERROR [302] : UPDATE ERROR

lol i did the Recovery it made me put out the battery and reboot the phone en replug the cables

is a 1.04.10 radio a valid radio for a 2.xx rom?
If you are stuck, the only/best way to recover is to flash an official rom from your carrier. You can get to the bootloader so you are NOT bricked. You are just flashing roms that have a CID that doesn't match your phones. Try the button rom or the wizard love rom that the unlocking stickies mention repeatedly.
Were your IPL/SPL 2.18 before you started?
Read the Wiki, Read the stickies. For every person that says the process doesn't work there are 100 that it works flawlessly for and 99% of the time those that can't get it to work don't follow all the steps in order or just outright skipped steps or substituted with what THEY thought was better. There is a reason for each and every step in the guides. IF you follow them properly you WILL NOT have any issues.
For the situation you are in now: STOP trying to flash custom roms, you MUST get your phone back to a usable state before you go down that path again. Use your carriers latest available rom to recover your device.
Also you are lucky to get an answer at all because your question is asked in almost every single new thread and every single ROM thread. The answers are already easily found if you take the time to look yourself.

You will not be able to install a CUSTOM rom until you CID unlock. I don't believe the Black 3.0 rom is available for the Wizard. It is a Hermes rom. There are several WM 6 roms available for the wizard, you should probably look in the WM6 sub-thread once you get yourself completely CID unlocked.
The tutorial tells you everything you need to know, even if you don't know anything about anything. Just read the instructions follow the links to download the roms/tools that it is talking about. If you don't understand the instructions you can post in that thread and the authors or others will help you there. Though they most likely will not respond until you show that you have read and at least have an idea of what you are trying to do, where you started where you are and where you would like to end up. If you don't understand the instructions there is always the IMEI unlockers site that will give you a utility to do it if you want to pay them for it.
Why are you trying to upgrade? Do you need to upgrade? Are you willing to void your warranty on your phone? Can you live without it if something drastic happens and you truly do brick your device, in most cases you will not be able to exchange your phone under warranty? If you haven't defined the first question or answered no to any or all of the other questions you shouldn't be rom flashing, especially not with unapproved roms that aren't supported by your carrier. You need to measure the potential gains against the risk of doing these things to determine if it is right for you. Once you get unlocked and flash a couple of roms you will see that it is easy and relatively safe as long as you read and follow the instructions they are tried and true and do work if they are followed properly.

I bought my phone second hand (i dont have a receet of something) so i dont have any warranty anymore
i like my phone but i have troubles with sms the recever keeps getting old of no messages so that why a want another rom
i would be a shame if i brick it, but im willing to try
im doing the steps from your link now, ik istalling te rom at the second point but it still is stuck on 98% :|
is there another 1.5 rom? that i can try? i read someting about the love rom

The Wizard Love rom is another that people use when the Button rom doesn't work for them. I don't have a link to it but I am sure it is linked in the Upgrading or G4 sub-forums. Maybe even in the Wiki. Sorry haven't been spending much time in the Wizard forums as I only flash my wizard when something breaks, or a new feature is added -- My wife uses that phone now .
There is always the pay to unlock website but you should be able to get it unlocked with either button or the wizard love rom.
Just out of curiosity how long do leave it sitting at 98% before you determine that it is stuck? All roms "stick" at a few points during the flashing process. If you didn't wait at least 5 minutes or get an error on your PC you probably didn't wait long enough. Best advice I have on this is disable all power management/screen savers on your PC set up the flash. Once it starts leave the room and close the door for no less than 30 minutes. This way you can be sure that you didn't interrupt it. For a Wizard the flash should complete in 10 minutes or less. For the Hermes it can take a full 30 minutes depending on your flashing method an which components you are flashing. It is normal to hang for a few minutes at different points during the flash process, just because there is no transfer doesn't mean something isn't being decompressed/written on the device from what has already been transferred over.

Yes well i waited the first time for like 15 minutes then my computer shut down the update programm
today i waited like 30 minutes cos i even had dinner.

I have a MDA Vario and had been experiencing problems with an Orange SIM card. Read various posts and the solution was to upgrade the ROM using the Wizard_Love download. Others had the same problem with same (G3) machine and it worked for them,
Everything was going well until my PC crashed when the update was at 98%. Don't know why...didn't even touch anything and had no superfluos progs running
The upshot is that all I'm getting now is the multicolour bootscreen on the MDA
Understandably I am now unable to get the PC to connect to restart the ROM upgrade.
Have I now got myself an expensive paperweight ??
Any help gratefully received, even jokes will be humourously acknowledged.

Look towards the end of Dr. Puttingham's thread on unlocking Wizards. You will find someone who mixed an old IPL/SPL pack with an O2 ROM. That worked for me.

I have now got the Vario communicating with another PC and trying the ROM retrograde to 1.05. Kept crashing on my Laptop at 98%
Now trying another m/c....I hope it works !!

I used the Button 1.05 upgrade as suggest by Dr P and now back to Windows. I will follow the rest of his advice now ...

I bought a G3 Wizard, and I fell in love with it, this is not new, i fall in love with all my mobiles and PDAs.
I have a Himalaya too which is much more simple than Wizard regarding upgrading. and here we go
I followed the instructions in the sticky thread titled:
[READ FIRST] The Definitive Guide to Unlocking & Rom Upgrading G3 Wizards
I found it very helpful. I followed mainly the FARIA version too, i was reading the 2 threads in parallel to double check my understanding.
it all went great .. till the IPL/SPL upgrade step, i followed my guess that i dont need to go though the 2.26 ROM to update afterwards to 3.08. so i upgraded to 3.08 and all went well.
the next was to upgrade to any WM6.1 versions. and for my sorrow, all of them failed to update.
the failure it self was a piece of art. after the completion of the update taking its 10 mins, it just hard reset my device. no new rom is installed.
my guess was, go back to 1.05 and go to 2.26 instead of 3.08
i did that and found my IPL/SPL changed from 3.08/3.08 to 1.01/3.08 even though the rom is supposed to have both of them equaling 1.05
ignoring this fact "an error i'll regret soon" i tried to upgrade to any WM6.1 ROM and voalla
I BRICKED MY BELOVED WIZARD.
yes thats right, it stuck at 98% and sowed a failure message. allowing me only to follow the recovery steps. and i got this 4 strips screen (i'm counting the white strip too)
any way, after trying with different roms, different uti upgrading file, all reached the point of failure.
so, i kinda lost hope, and removed the batt, the SIM and left the device like this for 4 hours or even more.
i returned from work, and prayed to god to help me. i cant live without my beloved Wizard.
and the only thing i could do was to try to install the button 1.05 rom again. i tried b4 the 4 hours break, and it failed just like the others.
i dont know how but while praying , the mobile continued to flash the rom and booted completely!!!
now, after this story, here is my current status,
IPL/SPL = 1.01/3.08
ROM : button 1.05
additional info: i'm afraid of trying to upgrade to WM6 or WM6.1,may be i get it bricked for life this time!!!!
should i use WST to restore my old IPL/SPL?
what can i do to use WM6 or 6.1?

Perhaps! your phone is still CID locked and you upgraded to 3.08,sometimes,while downgrading from 3.08 to 1.xx,spl freezes at 3.08,now try to upgrade back to 3.08 and downgrade first to 2.xx by flashing the official rom and then downgrade to 1.xx.
or,download the latest version of WST 4.2.2 and check the CID lock/unlock status,if its still locked,you can try to CID unlock with WST 4.2.2,its seen,it sometimes performs the CID unlock with different SPL other then 1.xx,atleast one user did report this successful.
hi, every time wenever i try to upgrade mah t mobile mda its shows error 260, problem is that it stuck in bootloder mod, my ipl and spl is 2.26 nd mah phone is cid unlocked that i was done before sme months ,i tried many official rom

Search the Wizard forums, there are some very good step-by-step instructions for reviving a Wizard that is in this condition. Just the other day I had this happen when installing the original ROM in order to check my extended ROM size. I searched the forums, found very simple instructions that involved a "Wizard Love ROM", and quickly got the phone working again. SOrry I cannot remember more details, but search diligently and you will find.
