Hi All, (sorry for my language)
I can not upgrade or use my Trinity. Device freezing while booting-up. And Red NO GSM message appears on the bottom line. When blue Windows Mobile splash screen comings up, device freezing.
I'm trying to re-flash with SD card method (extract nbh file and rename to TRINING.nbh and put to te SD card and start manual bootloader) NOT ALLOW message appears on the upper line.
My device SPL version is 1.05. How can i rescue my trinity?
Thanks in advance...
seem u upgrade wrong version...try flash with original OS ROM, or else return to "them" to repair....
If you can figure out how to compile splxploit, you can fix this, see

I am trying to use the splxploit, but am not at all familiar with Linux. Could do with a few pointers ....
I am using a Live CD of Knoppix on my windows PC. It appears to run very well, and seems to have gcc installed already as default.
What I did was unzip the splxploit.c file to the desktop and then went to the run command and typed "gcc splxploit.c -o splxploit" a console popped up, but gave a message saying gcc : couldn't find file or directory". I tried various combinations e.g "gcc home/knoppix/Desktop splxploit.c -o splxploit" but just couldn't get it to work. I think I am just telling the gcc program to look in the wrong place.
ANy help would be appreciated !!

Hi all,
I popped back after some time away to find that you'd now been working on linux for the BA.
Course, eager as ever I dived in and tried to understand what I thought said instructions.
So I downloaded all the required files, and placed them into the folders specified, ran Heret.exe and I get our iccle penguine with a thermometer rising but when it reaches the top thats all it does?
Am I missing something ere?
Gav
I've got it to get to the Portmap, but i'm unable to login via USB.
Has ANYONE managed to deal with this yet?
Gav
it works exactly as advertised on WIKI.
after temp. goes thru the roof and penguin eyes crack, you should see kernel messages scrolling by.
since u don't see that, i'm guessing the kernel cannot be found because u didn't set up the SD card correctly.
post ur SD card partitions (fdisk -l) and also output of ls -lR
before u can login remotely, usb net modules must be loaded (see wiki)
I had realised I had downloaded the initrd-3.6.12-hh2.gz and mapped the startup.txt to that file,
so I downloaded the 2.6 version and changed the startup and I got the kernal message.
It goes through the kernel and I get a usb disconnection notification on xp and activesync disconnects.
As for partitions, how the f**k do I do this, because theres nothing in wm2003se that allows you to partition sd cards, and I don't get any command prompt on the linux kernel.
Also I do get an error that etc/modules directory could not be found but the kernal continues to load.
Regards
Gav
I'm just waiting till their is a complete Linux ROM with a portalable WINE port built in so you can run TomTom. Then I'll be happy.
man, you need to follow the wiki EXACTLY. u will not get anywhere by skipping steps.
windoze cannot create required fat and ext3 partitions. the fastest way 2 do this is download a linux live cd
judging by ur level of experience, i say leave this alone, until linux for blueangel matures enough for foolproof installation.
and how do I mount this ext3 partition?
(I can only connect to the initrd-filesystem with ssh)
Could someone please spend a few minutes and write down the steps to get splxploit working !!! Like myself I think there are a number of people struggling with this.
I am not at all familiar with Linux but I HAVE tried and unfortunately failed.
I used a Live CD of Knoppix, which seems to run fine on my system but I can't get gcc to compile the file. I have tried other Live CD's but couldn't get any others to run properly.
What I have done is unzip the splxploit.c file to the desktop. I then right clicked on the file, went to properties and changed the permissions to read/write. The file appears to be in the directory ramdisk/home/knoppix/desktop .
So I then go to the start menu, and choose run command. I get a popup box where I enter the gcc command line (I also ticked the box to show the process in a terminal window)
I have tried various combinations of the gcc command line, but it aways says unable to find directory/file.
e.g.
gcc splxploit.c -o splxploit
gcc /ramdisk/home/knoppix/desktop splxploit.c -o splxploit
and every other combination I can think of !!
A quick tutorial for those who use windows would be VERY helpful
Thanks
let me get you a statically linked version later

I just posted a windows version
That is great news !!!! On my Hols, but will check out the windows version when I get back next week. Will let U guyz know how I get on
I have definitely got the blue angel. It is an O2 Xda 11s.
I have downloaded the how to flash your BA pdf by D-Two, and followed the instructions. It gets through to the stage where it's about load the software onto the phone, and then it quits saying that he phone is not the appropriate model.
device information
Operator version: PDAViet.net
ROM version: 6.01.10 VH
ROM date: 07/08/08
Radio version: 1.06.00
ExtROM: diamond (01)
RAM size: 128 MB
Flashing eyes: 32 MB
Storage size: 60.3 MB
At present I have windows mobile 6.1.
And suggestions please?
for upgrading, you use the MAupgradeut_noID.
that program avoids country id errors but it was originally made for the magician, hence MA, whereas the original BA upgrade utility is called BAupgradeut.
that is why you get that error. you have to put the device into bootloader mode before connecting it to the pc and before starting maupgradeut_noid, that way, you avoid the device id check.
make sure to follow the correct upgrade procedure, found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630416
These are the instructions I used;
Temporarily remove your SD Card (it may work for you with the SD card still in your BA, but you may not be able to enter USB mode when cradled).
Put your device into Bootloader mode by pressing and holding the "Power" & "Record" buttons, and then press the Reset Button. Help me with this step
Connect the phone to the sync cable/cradle. sarcasm ahead Note: Did you see a sign out in front of this point that said: "You can flash using BlueTooth connection?" You know why you didn't see that sign? Because you can NOT FLASH using BlueTooth!
Now you can execute the installer file. (something like "MaUpgradeUt_noID")<--------------- Used This
Here is the screen just before boarding the software.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt356/Pterodactyl_2012/ba1.png
And here is the error message.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt356/Pterodactyl_2012/ba2.png
nope, you are not using the proper maupgradeut_noid, because that would show a magician on the left, whereas your pictures clearly show a BA, so download the Chef_Tony RUU from my signature and try that. it has the right maupgradeut_noid, that will avoid errors like that.

you are trying to flash using vista/7 have you read d-two's manual about that, with the customized driver and everything?
alternatively try a windows xp pc and follow the tutorial in my signature (the read first link)
and make sure, that you don't copy around the rom too much. download the rom and the ruu directly to the pc you flash from and use it from that folder directly. i use windows 7 on my main pc and can only flash from my netbook which runs windows xp, and due to too much copying, i had similar errors, because after copying the rom to a usb flash drive without problems, still the crc changed.
don't worry, your case is far from hopeless, but you seem to be unlucky and go through every problem there is

Okay yes, I should have said this. I am using windows seven on a Lenovo N500 4233 32g. The problem is, trying to get hold of an XP machine. Have you tried running this programme in compatibility mode? I will have a look at your instructions and see where I get to.
Thanks for your help,
Is d-two's manual, the HTC service manual in you sig?
no, it is to be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5456317&postcount=6
compatibility has nothing to do with it, neither has the xp mode or any virtual machine, because there must be suitable windows 7 drivers present. but i cannot help you with his tutorial, since i use windows xp for flashing and have never successfully used windows 7 for flashing.
the htc service manual in my sig is the official htc manual for hardware repairs, you can learn to disassemble the device there and have a list of spare parts
First, please forgive me if this is posted in the wrong section. It seemed most appropriate.
Second, I take no credit for anything here except for writing the .bat file here used to do the work, as well as assembling the files as per the original post.
All credit goes to djmwj and his article found here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/8722-lenovo-ideapad-k1-rooting-guide-messy/
As the title states, it was very messy. The OP figured out how to make it go, but it was a bit fuzzy to follow. So, I thought I'd help folks out a bit and clean things up.
So, I took the instructions presented in the OP, and condensed them into one download with one .bat that does everything from start to finish, minus installing the respective drivers for ADB and NVFlash. However, the drivers are included in the download.
Instructions:
1. Extract K1Root.rar to the directory of your choosing.
2. Connect your tablet to your PC with the USB cable.
3. With your tablet off, press POWER+VOL_UP+VOL_DOWN until the screen turns on, but displays only black.
4. Windows should detect the device, but not install drivers.
5. Go into device manager, select the APX device, choose update drivers, and install the drivers from the aptly named NVFlash_Drivers folder.
6. Open up the NVFLASH_HOME folder and run the file K1Flash.bat
7. Make your desired choices when prompted, and enjoy.
Notes (PLEASE READ BEFORE USING):
THERE MAY BE BUGS! I used it on my own stuff before releasing, and all of the essential components work as they should, however, there may possibly be a minor hiccup somewhere in the script. This should not damage anything. If you have doubts, you're welcome to examine the .bat and check it for yourself.
Please be gentle. I am not a full-time developer. I just wrote this to help make the process simpler for people.
The OP suggests you download and read the partition table, and then name the backup files based on that. This script names the backup files based on the flash.cfg script referenced in the OP, which is what controls the flashes used anyway. So, there shouldn't be any irregularities, however, I can't speak for every device on the planet.
This does NOT use the latest OTA updates. The rooted files being flashed are the default ones from the original download. You can easily adapt this to any files generated from the latest OTA files by simply dropping them in the NVFLASH_HOME file.
To install the SU properly, you have to install ADB drivers midway through the script. There's probably a way around this, but I didn't find it to be too inconvenient.
The ADB drivers are also located in the NVFLASH_HOME folder. Just do like you did when installing drivers in step #5, but instead point to NVFLASH_HOME.
Um...um...
That should be it. Obviously, use at your own risk. Let me know if there are problems with the script, and I will fix them.
Oh, and party on, Wayne.

EDIT:
Attached is an updated .bat file which fixes a few errors in the original script, plus adds more userability. Just extract to the NVFLASH_HOME folder and run.

You may want to change the title to Ideapad K1, I don't know if this will work for the Thinkpad tablet.
Thanks for this, I just picked up this tablet ($250 at staples) and was worrying about having to tackle linux and "compiling" just to be able to get hulu.com working. You're a lifesaver.

Wow. Yeah, I'm pretty sure the key used is just for the Ideapad. Thanks for pointing that out. My dumb a$$ must've blanked out and just used the group name when posting.
And just to be fair, the original poster does include everything needed to do stuff in windows as well - it's just very hard to discern from the post.
question
Is anyone working on a custom ROM for this tablet? I am hopeing that there will be at least a few custom roms available at some point in the near future.

We need to be able to root and unlock the bootloader first.
Does the root method work on the 121211 update?
Or is there a way to flash back to the older firmware?
the OTA update 12 12 11.... seems to be update.zip style with no .img files inside. just loose files like normal rom updates. doesnt seeem like you can drop the files in as suggested. or i have the wrong OTA....
oh and is this for LINUX as the OP or work in windows too??
Hi, I was wondering, is this procedure works for the Lenovo ThinkPad 1838-25U? I'm thinking to buy it to give a test ride, i sold my Transformer 101 to buy the Prime but it seems like Asus is taking vacations on the delivery shipments. Is this a good tablet? or is better to wait for another version?
READ THE POST
IDEApad not THINKpad. no it wont work.
First of all- thank you so much for creating this script! I have been putting off rooting this device due to the "messy" nature of the original post.
I was hoping you could help me troubleshoot, I have tried both the new K1 root application and the original .bat file. I know the drivers are working because the script makes it as far as creating and formatting partitions and successfully pushes the bootlooder.bin but then:
bootloader.bin sent successfully
file not found: recovery.img
failed executing command 2147483647 NvError 0x4
command failure: create failed
I've tried everything I can think of... any ideas?
Thanks again.
I found problem.
after root done follow step. I cannot factory reset and update any ota.
anyone can help me ?

I recently got this device and looking for a way to root this device without having to roll back to the factory default rom and then having to update again using OTA.
Question, am I in luck, is that at all possible or do I have to really rollback and reinstall everything again?
Thanks!

you have written "mount-o" which is totally wrong this should be "mount -o"
I think you didn't put space between command and option, and system took it as other command
