8125 "HELP" - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

Okay I can't seem to update or do anything with RUU's... It keeps crashing and re-setting my phone to the colored screen. I followed the directions to a T with updating ROM's/CID/SIM unlock and still I get errors... It all works fine and dandy until the phone restarts to the colored screen. Once that happens the RUU shuts down with an error. I tried to restart it while the phone was in color mode and all the RUU did was shut down with an error again... Anyone have an answer to this??? Please!!!! HELP ME!!!
If it helps I'm running windows Vista Premium and the latest mobile center.

Search the forums. You can't update using the updater under Vista without tweaking. Your best bet is to use Shelltools.

Shell Tools doesn't work either... all it does is freeze up... for 1hr... So i gave up on that tool..

If you check in the Windows Mobile 6 thread for the TNT 3.0 Series ROM, you'll find that his package includes a Vista utility. Hope this helps - the ROM has also been getting good feedback as a WM6 upgrade.

xda IIi problem

Hi
I attempted to download the XDA IIi (v1.11.171) software update and during installation the software update was interrupted by my computer rebooting. Now my XDA does not boot and all it displays is "Serial V.1.01". I have tried a hard reset but it still does not boot.
I would appreciate any suggestions you could advise on how I can recover from this situation.
Thanks
you go to bootloadder and uprom again
goog luck
It doesn't sync with the pc anymore though.
Won't sync, but if you plug it in, and see the screen on the pda change to something like USB, it's connected.
It's connected, but when i go to update, it says country id error.
find this file at the ftp "MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe" and use it to upgrade
I fixed the problem by reflashing the rom using the ma_upgradeUt.
Thanks to everyone that helped

I'm in the same boat...
I think I'm in the process of reflashing the ROM.
I have a message, " Checking the information on your device, Please Wait"
how long should this whole process take?
Thanks
Time for an update
I waited 45 minutes for the ROM to update. It never got out of the "Checking the information on your device, Please Wait" mode. I have a bad feeling...
Its my guess that when its in the SERIAL screen and USB screen when plugged in to the Computer that its in Bootloader Mode. Is there a way to get it to load a new ROM? Or, am I trying to revive a "brick."
Thanks to all that help or explain my situation to me.

you have to quit the installer program from task manager, then rerun it, i had to do this with both my xda2 and xda2i it hangs, make sure you dont remove your phone from the cradle or out of boot loader mode.
the second time the program runs it will not find any existing info and just install the OS, it takes about 30 mins
A Little More Info, Please

HELP Installing ROM

I posted this in the forum for the ROM but want to widen the audience. I am installing a ROM using RUU and keep getting communications errors. I have a partnership setup and it finds the phone perfectly. It detects the version and then reboots the phone fine. Both the PC and the Phone come up with the progress bar and sit at 0% for a minute and then I get a communications error and it fails. I tried this on an XP machine with activesync and on a vista machine with no luck. Anyone else ever had a similar issue with some ideas on what I can try?
Thanks,
Chris
tell me you have hard spl.
I don't actually but I did not brick my phone. I can yank the batter for a minute and then put it back in and it boots right back up. Could that utility make the communications issue resolve itself?
hardpl
Ok, I found this and it seems the process for installing this is the same as installing a new ROM and the communications issue happens here too. There has to be something simple I am missing. Anyone? Please!!

[BETA] WM6.1 Clean Developer Edition Revision 1.1

After long last, I've finally updated the WM6.1 Clean Developer Edition and have fixed up almost all the problems you guys had with the original.
Changes from original 1.0 version:
Portrait Camera now working
MMS 4.0 is included with basic MMS settings
Custom splash screen!
Some other bugs I can't remember...
User Customization 2.0 - You'll really like this if you have a microSD card!
Installation:
Installation is now completely automated. If you are currently running the official T-Mobile ROM, please run the CID Unlocker.exe that is included.
Once you are CID Unlocked, run the Windows Mobile 6.1.exe program.
Done!
If at any time you want to go back to the T-Mobile ROM because of an error flashing or whatever, you will need to turn your phone on in bootloader mode. To do this, hold down the camera button and then press and release the power button while still holding the camera button down. Your phone should go to a screen with red, green, and blue bars. Plug it in to your computer now and run the T-Mobile Update from their site.

Rapidshare mirror: http://rapidshare.com/files/133831473/Clean_Developer_Edition_Revision_1.1.rar.html
Note: The T-Mobile Edition BETA 2 will be released sometime later today or tomorrow for those who have been waiting for an update since the last.
works great so far! thanks again for the updates
Beautiful, I love for your work .
did you add rickwyatt fix for the interface
edit
after trying to download this 10 times already im kinda pist
upload it somwhare else it stops like half way
huh?
okay i must first apologize for my ignorance, as i am very new to this. first what is "CID unlocked"? Also, are there still bugs being worked out of this rom? i previously had a dash ( HTC Excalibur ) and used a 6.1 rom from an xda member and really liked it. T-mobile has not issued a release date for wm 6.1 and frankly i am sick of waiting! will this rom work the same as the previous rom i used for my dash? thank you ahead of time for any answers and help you may be able to provide me with.
Everything works perfect! The only thing I have not tried is mms but I don't mms often.
Thank you for all your hard work!
Noted BUGS

#BUGS
#####
1.) To upgrade from Dev 1.0 to 1.1, I for some reason had to cid unlock. For some reason, every time I tried to flash the Juno, I kept getting an invalid certificate message.
2.) Microsoft's Getting Started App is missing.
3.) After LiveSearch is installed, when a user tries to exit the application they would encounter a missing resource error. (Note: This never occured in the 1.0 version. I'm currently googeling for a solution).
-----
That's all I could find. Otherwise, great ROM. I've noticed it works a bit faster then the 1.0 Rom, what changes did you make?
I also upgraded for dev1.0 to 1.1 and did not have to cid unlock the exe worked great
live search I have no problems with and get no error win exiting
getting started is missing and looked in the windows folder I did not see it there so I think he removed it but who needs it I did have a died shortcut in the all programs for it but after adding more programs to it it is gone
the battery on the settings slide still needs to be edited in the reg to open
still have to try User Customization
but all and all works great
hopefuly need4speed can make a cab to fix these bugs brcouse im kinda sick of flashing my phone
im also waiting for a mirror
ahhh victory
I had some bugs that didnt bother me so much on 1.0, so I am excited for an update.
And I will never get sick of flashing my phone MU HA HA HAhahaha!
When I have it up and running I will post notes of usage ND4, Thank you so much for this.

Okay, I'll reflash my phone, and see if i have any problems.
Problem with install
Hi All
I have tried several times to follow the steps to upgrade to this Windows Mobile 6.1 using ND4SPD's file from both download sites. After running the unlock procedure, when I start the Windows Mobile 6.1.exe installation proceeds to just after the status bar comes up on the phone, Then, I get an error that the image file is corrupted. The phone reboots back to Windows Mobile 6 Standard.
What could the problem be?
Tim
What exactly does user customization 2.0 do?

Dose your phone turn white after running CIDunlocker.exe? Also u have to remove storage card and restart phone before anything.
This rom works in gene p3401?

I just tried without the memory card.
Yes it turns white. The unlock util reports success.
I reboot the phone, start the update util, the screen gets red green and blue bars.
At 2%, the update util shuts down with:
"ERROR [270]: Update Error"
"The image file is corrupted. Please check your update utility."
The phone then reboots.
So, what do you think ?
Tim
@tech_hardman: this will NOT run on the gene. It is specifically meant for the htc juno. If you try it, it might brick your phone.
@guitarkid6920: UC 2.0 basically allows you to have all of your settings, programs, etc installed automatically after the rom is installed so you don't have to work on it every time you flash a new rom.
@timtillman: Make sure that after your phone gets the app unlock that your phone restarts. Physically disconnect from your computer and wait for it to restart after the app unlock. It should work.

Need Help My trinity is "bricked"

Hi, sorry to post a new thread
but if anyone out there who would be able to help me out.
I just got my Touch HD stolen and this has forced me to fall back on my Trinity alone again.
The problem is the phone will not boot past a screen with some chinese characters (blue screen in picture) after showing the HTC logo (in the white picture)
If i enter the bootload this is the screen i get (the tri-colour screen)
I have tried everything i can find from SD flashing (doesn't even recognize there is a fileon the SD card, only goes into the tri-color screen with serial at the bottom) to SPLxploit, to mtty you name it. Since t doesn't boot windows, i cant get it to connect to active sync so i can try flashing from the PC. If i cannect it to the PC whiles its in Bootload screen, it shows USB but if i try flashing it tells me ERROR 260 (no connection).
I would appreciate it if anyone can help me out.

Problem booting Android

When I go to boot android from my SD card it won't load. I run Haret.exe and then the linux boot screen comes up, but then i get this message at the bottom:
Kernel panic - not syncing attempted to kill init!
2.165865 Rebooting in 3 seconds.
After this last line it stays frozen forever. I am using Myn's latest Warm Donut, and yes I have all the files on my SD cards root, and it is formatted to FAT. I haven't taken anything out of the files that I downloaded. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for all the great work
Same thing happened to me
I used to do this kind of stuff on my Kaiser. I don't know what is wrong. But, I get the exact same problem.
HELP same is happening to me.
I get the same message on my sprint Touch.
Kernel panic - not syncing attempted to kill init!
2.165865 Rebooting in 3 seconds.
does anyone know the solution to this. I tried Myn with same freeze. Android 1.5 worked but then it shuts down after 5 min.
All other builds give me the same message and then FREEZE.
Thanks for your help.
2.165850 Rebooting in 3 seconds
Please help!
I am seeing many others with this same issue when booting from SD when I searched for "attempted to kill init!" under Vogue CDMA.
Kernel panic - not syncing g: attempted to kill init!
2.165850 Rebooting in 3 seconds
After that it just stays frozen. Any help would be great appreciated.
I had this exact same problem yesterday and I finally solved it after messing with the phone all morning.
I am using the verizon version of the phone btw and I am kind of a newb to this whole process.
The boot problem ceased after I installed windows mobile 6.1. I can't post the link because I am new to this forum, but it was a verizon package of windows 6.1 that included a radio update. I think the reason it fixed the boot problem was because it updated the radio.
Please note that by doing this I had to call verizon and re-activate my phone on their network (while having windows mobile 6.1 installed on the phone.)
After installing windows mobile 6.1 on the phone (with included radio update), I was able to flash to Android with no problems and no longer got the freeze up at "rebooting in 3 seconds.."
Hope this helps!
