Sliding Menus - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario Software Upgrading

I may sound like a complete newbie, but is there a way to make the menus on windows mobile 6 slide up like in wm5 and before instead of just popping up like they do in wm6? i miss the sliding menus

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\GWE\Menu\
Change the "AniType" value from 0 to 6.

Keyboard Sound Registry (Manilla2D Idea)

Hi,
I am wondering where in the registry is the keyboard sound at and if it is possible to invoke a program rather then the sound itself (changing the file pathway)?
The reason is that Manilla2D screws up our Today screen when the keyboard is opened and I really don't think anyone has a solution for it at the moment.
I purpose that we can assign SecondToday to the keyboard when open and close, so that we have a clean Today for when the keyboard is opened and back to Manilla2D when closed.
Any Thoughts?
Rytt
actually thats a really bright idea i know where the sounds registry is on the kaiser its HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\SlidingSound u need a registry editor to find it obvious i know how to create new sliding sounds but not really how to make it open up a whole app or program . great idea though if uv ever used throttle launcher the landscape mode would be a nice touch to manila 2d. maybe a couple of tweaks here and there might do the job ill actually look in to this

HTC Keyboard and TouchFlo

I am having a problem where almost everytime I slide out the physical keyboard on the HTC Touch Pro, the screen goes to the landscape version of the TouchFlo screen. Is there a way to disable this for anytime except when TouchFlo already has the focus on the phone?
My main issue is that I may be changing something either in settings or somewhere else that requires a text input and I decide to open the keypad to enter the text instead of using the on-screen keypad and then touchFlo comes up and moves my application out of site and I need to start all over. As with some applications they don't show up under the drop down task manager so I need to restart from the beginning.
Thanks!
Anthony
umm... try the Touch Pro section?

"Old" startmenu.

I recently bought TD2, and is by no means a big fan of the new startmenu. How is it possible to replace it with the "old" one ?
I've been searching the forum, since I've heard of a little program that can fix this issue, but without luck .
Thanks in advance !
The new start menu comes as part of Touch Flo 3D.....If you distable TF3D in settings\personal\today\items, you get the old menu system.
I'm amazed that anyone would prefer the old WM one.

There are two great lacks in the new menu :
1. too few items available in the 'icons' start page, and no kind of sub-folders or program groups.
then
2. if you go in the full list because your program is not in the icons page, the list can be long and fastidious.
Hope it will be corrected in next version and be available for D2, or windows 6.5 titanium/CHome will replace TF3D
Try TF3D2 Tweak in this thread

Thank you all, for your replies .
If you just want to change the start menu but leave Manila turned on, just change the following in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu\Enable ManilaStartMenu =dword:00000000
After a restart you have the old start menu
Is it possiple too keep both ways?
I mean when you press the start menu on the top of the screen to have the old start menu and when you press the windows hard key to have the new one?
I think this would be more usefull for many people who like the new menu but want some features of the old one!

Ah right, I see. I've not hit that issue, I guess I just don't use that many programs!
One question: how can I enable the old style like in WM 6.1.
I use 6.5 without Manilla (UDK R1.)
It's annoying to select start/settings/connections if you want to set more the 1 thing...bluetooth, WIFI etc....also for programs.
Or how can I customize the start menu in 6.5 ...order, content...
another way
This would keep the new start menu when you tap on "start" and make pop-up a replica similar whith the old one when you tap on windows or whatever icon you have on the upper left corner of the screen near the text "start". I didn't make this just downloaded from somewhere.

Doesn't seem to work on my Diamond2. (Does nothing)
I was wondering if someone could do a buttom like the settings buttom in the new start menu that could open the old programs menu.
I think this shouldn't be so difficult, since there is a similar buttom for the settings.
Welcome here Liviu. (Bine ai venit pe aici, marfa site-u pt HTC-uri)
I try it Quick Menu, it's like Windows PC START menu and it's hard to use with a finger
I speak about the old menu from WM6.1 not Pc windows...
Ksara it's works on TD2 I try it and work well but it's not what I want.
You are right Pauln, it's not finger friendly but hei! that stylus is there so ...
Anyway for me it does the job so here is a pic for those who want an alternative. The icon "Quick menu" you will find also in Programs.

I'm one of them. I disabled touchflo and installed spb pocket plus: I've got everything in sight, with no need to flip over strange desktops and icons!
I found these registry entries somewhere else and i thing these are the key to make a shortcut in manila programs folder to the old Programs folder Just like there is for the settings folder (number 3)
"Remove the locked program tab items
Code:
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/0/IsReadOnly
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/1/IsReadOnly
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/2/IsReadOnly
HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/3/IsReadOnly
Change this value from 1 to a 0 and you can then edit their shortcuts."
Please someone who is familiar with this , create a shortcut.

But what is the way to do it, because I don't want to install some software that almost does the same. I want it the old way.
Please help.

Just got a Diamond. Two questions

A) I have a persistent "1" as the leftmost icon in the status icon area, and it wont go away. the official HTC manual for the phone (page 36) does not say anything about numbers showing up there. what does it mean and how do i get rid of it?
B) is there a way to keep the keyboard from popping up on EVERY screen that has an input field? sometimes i just want to look at a screen and touch my way around it. how do i make the default behavior NO keyboard?
C) is there something wrong with my diamond or the G sensor only works in a couple apps (camera, photo browser, opera)? How do i enable it for text msging for example?
thanks in advance. i miss my hermes... that was much easier to use!
Not sure about question 1.
Question 2 there is a registry setting you can change or you can download Diamond Tweak. (Under Keyboard (SIP) there is an option for Automatic display) disable this).
The diamond doesn't natively support Landscape mode therefore you need to download an app like Gyrator to make this happen.
thank you thank you matty. #2 is really the most important Q.

What's your oppinion on the new WM6.5 build (23028)?

Has anyone else tried the new build?
What do you guys think?
I personally hate the new arrangement (with the close menu at the bottom). Plus it f.... up a lot of my apps as that bar seems to overlap on the menus of many apps.
I repeat what I posted on WMPoweruser:
My feelings are the same as before.
The UI is not consistent in it's look, some things are so bad.
What I like:
1. Homescreen
2. Enlarged task bar
3. Some UI elements enlarged
4. Smooth scrolling through almost anything
5. Apps menu when hitting windows icon.
6. New buttons added
I hate:
1. Too big menus – scrolling through menus is a pain in the ****ing ass.
Why do display 3 lines of text on a big screen?!
Hopefully it'll change on higher res devices though
2. New buttons look like ****. As well as scroll bar – it does not go anywhere
with the old UI look. I appreciate this "3D" attempt but it could be simpler!
3. All the elements are enlarged to the extent it looks like a dumb phone. Awful.
4. Hopefully the blue colour can be changed.
So, very mixed emotions as for me. But I hope this video is on TPro or Diamond,
so on 480×800 screens it will look smaller. What a waste of space, look at build in file manager
or the menu in Total Commander, IDIOTIC.
Double post
I like the 23022+ Builds, aside from 2 points.
1) The lower buttons now overlap my Manilla slightly, looks odd but doesn't really effect functionality.
2) Accessing task manager is MUCH harder.

What do you mean?
EDIT:
The leak 23034 looks so much better!
When I tap the top-right corner in 6.1/other 6.5 Roms I get the little drop down menu where it shows my open programs. On 6.5 (at least the rom I tried) was very iffy with that, I press the top right and I kept getting the enlarged notification bar.
I really hate the new look its just so messed up. just making things bigger doesn't mean its finger friendly. they just making things bigger. what if they remove the bottom bar and make it look more like android. they have to change alot on the interface.
whats preventing me to go android is that there is no good navigation software i have tomtom on my x1. if i didn't use tomtom i was gone from wm to android.
I hope for us that the final build will look better than this and i will stay with older builds without the bigger battom bar.
the only thing that i like is the homescreen with titanium and the scrolling but that was it.
23028 looks really incomplete, which is a bit off putting, but is obviously to be expected. 23034 looks a lot better, and both builds show MS is going in the right direction anyway. I just hope it can be sorted so the newer builds don't overlap with TouchFlo, cos it looks a bit weird when it does.
