upgrade fails

Hello,
I`m trying to get latest lvsw wm6 to the device.
I own the phone since today.
I made the following steps:
Execute ROMUpdateUltility (Hard-SPL)
->Next->Next->Update
From: Image Version 1.16.407.2
to: Image Version 1.20
->Next -> Next
On the phone:
Enterbotloader.exe
"blabla"
YES
On the computer:
ERROR[246]: Device not responding
On the phone:
IPL-SSPL by Des
SPL-1.07.ds
ok,
trying to run ROMUPdateUltility again...
next next next... he shows me the progress bar --> finished! YES!
Rebooting the phone --> same software version as before the update?
trying to update for 2 hours... just to use gps as advertised

please help, i tried the official Update from HTC -> successfull but effects! programs, contacts etc still there, same version number!

I've the same problem [246] upgrading unofficial roms like
GSM_1.41.00.11
and
ROM_ING_WM6_2.27
The only upgrade I make successfully is original
htcp3600-RUU_Trinity_HTC_ITA_1-23-408-2_103_6275_1-38-00-11_108
what's wrong ?
P.S.
I test it using activeSync 4.2 & 4.5

Messiah..... Have you read the very first post in the LVSW ROM thread?
I am NOT having ago, just checking, seems you may have miss-understood.
Grab ALL 3 downloads listed there.
Apply first one, and yes there IS NO real visible change to the phone apart from it has been hard SPL'd
Now apply Second one, will go through the same process BUT the Radio ROM is changed and updated
Now Apply the Third and WM6 is installed
The failure you describe is the computer dropping Activ Sync and then "seeing" the phone in Bootloader mode, which is why it take 2 bites of the first cherry, after that all "should " be ok.
I managed to get mine on the first attempt so it is "Me Proof"[TM] and "Just Works" (c)..... however report back if this hasnt helped

yeah, the process you described tells me that you've loaded hard-spl on your phone.. that's all. No WM6 yet...

I have the same problem.
I have Hard-SPL'ed my Orange M700
Then reboot and reestablish Active Sync
Then I have updated the Radio Rom
Then reboot and reestablish Active Sync
and now it's 1.41.00.11 in settings/system/device information
but when i apply
20070527_Trinity_WM6_v2.0.1.1 it uploads then i power on my device and it's still WM5 ?
What am I doing wrong??

This may be a stupid question but have you SuperCID your device before running the updates?
If you go:
Start -> Settings

Device Information
What does it say under Radio version? (Just checks the second step has been completed successfully).
Also when you enter the bootloader what does it say on the screen?

I thought you didn't need to SuperCID the device (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1245390&postcount=70)
My radio Rom shows 1.41.00.11

TBH I don't know. But it can't hurt to try it, I SuperCID mine and it flashes perfectly each and every time.
I'm merely trying to make suggestions that may get a result.
Oh, you didn't tell me what the bootscreen said and what version of Activesync do you have on your PC?

While doing the SuperCID upgrade i was wondering: After flashing any of the ROMs do I reboot or power On manually or wait for the device to reboot itself as the message in the SupoerCID tool suggests:
If radio upgrade went fine, wait until your phone reboots and make sure
ActiveSync is enabled again (you should see green icon in system tray)

Stupid Q: How can i make the boot screen stay long enough so i can write it down?
My ActiveSync is 4.5 on WinXP

Rummage around in Start--> Setting --> device ID, and version and stuff...... they are there and you get the same info as on the boot screen... and it stay on longer ;-)

I didnt Super CID just followed the instructions in LVSW 's first thread, applied each DL in order and "it just works" (c)

Thanks. That's where i got the infroramtion from b4. I just thought it might be different in the boot screen.
I now did the SuperCID unlocking and did the 3 upgrades again. after the 3rd upgrade i still have:
- WM5.1.342 Build 15096.3.0.0
- ROM 1.23.61.5
- Radio 1.41.00.11
Q again: Do I need to wait after the flashing or do i immidiately press power
(that's what i do when it says finish) or do i soft reset? Or what else?

b) have you grabbed the latest version posted on page 1 of the upgrading thread?
c) I let it restart it self after it finished flashing, it then reclibrates the screen etc etc
Also looks like you havent upgraded anything just yet ... follow the instructions to the letter and it "should" be fine

c) there might be the problem i waited 2 mins ans as it wasn't rebooting i just used the power button. How long should i wait aftr the WM6 install?

I soft reset mine directly after the screen goes black. So that should be fine.

Maybe it has to do with my boot loader:
When i go to bootloader i see:
IPL-0.50
SPL-1.07.0000
then it starts fading quickly. is this normal? I have the same fading effect when i install ste 2 the radio ROM. but i still have the new radio rom on as it displays as 1.41.00.11
I again tried to use the 2.0.1.1 it uploads very quickly (maybe 2min) and then it's still the "orange" screen and WM5 on reboot and i still have all my data.

No. Mine stays there right up until the upload to the phone starts.
Then I get a grey background with a blue progress bar.
What happens if you run Enterbootloader on the phone. Then connect it to the PC.
Then run the install program on the PC.
The first process didn't work.
You should have:
TRIN100
IPL-SSPL by Des
TRIN100
SPL-1.07.ds

Hmmmmm if all else fails try a hard reset on your phone and see what versions of what you have after that.
Did you use ANY form of unlocking prior to using LVSW rom?
/me suspects this might be casuing issues
The radio rom zoooooomed up to my phone and likewise the WM6
I cannt remember reseting the phone after flashing.... IIRC it just worked as in it finished then re-started and way hey off it went.
Also FWIW I just used the DL's in the thread without bothering with anyother boot loaders etc... ie extract flies in first DL into 1 folders, run them, ditto DL's 2 and 3.

How to Flash in BootLoader

I have a stuck image on my 8125. The phone "boots" but only shows a white screen, and is unusable.
The "a2sd all" restore option mentioned in the forums doesnt work for me. I have read on several forums that I should be able to reflash the OS from the bootloader, though I cant find any instructions on how to do this
Could someone point me in the right direction for how to flash an OS VIA bootloader?

2. Connect it to the computer (Windows XP) with a USB cable
3. You will notice "USB" written in a lower corner of the phone (this means it is connected)
4. Now you can flash your provider's ROM without any problems
I am not sure whether the bootloader flashing is possible from Windows Vista.
You must flash normally (in bootloader you cannot use either shelltools or SoftSPL - so use your provider's ROM).

Dear Readers,
I'm having problem with my Dopod 900(,Qtek 9000,HTC Universal,O2 Xda Exec,Jasjar ). Can somebody please tell me what to do?
Before this, every time somebody called, the PDA lost the network bar and start to search or network and reject the calls automatically and also i wasn't able to send SMS. Now, i tried to install WM6 crossbow, the phone even cannot be on !!! even when i connect it to the charger, even the light will not be on. the only page that i can see is a white page asks Press 0 to Restore factory default or press X to exit. either perss 0 or X, the phone will be off and i cant turn it on with power key....
Please tell me what can i do ?? I really need your help.

hey guys, i need a little help. i downgraded my phone to buttons rom and then i was gonna attempt to upgrade the ipl/slp to 2.xx. so i downloaded the wizard ipl/spl 208 from the ftp site. i had a successful flash but when it went to reboot, my wizard never turn on again. ive searched the forums but it seems to me i have a brick found nothing. has anyone had the same situation happen to them? and find a solution?
it wont turn on at all anymore

IPL/SPL 2.08? Does that exist? Do you mean 3.08?
Are you sure your device is a G3? Or you killed it when flashing Button's ROM?

[HELP] installing new rom stuck on 99%

After i tried to install a new rom it stuck on 99% when i put my phone on it will only go to the bootloader... what can i do???

Always post the data of your your phone,to get help.
secondly you had a bad flash,perhaps your phone is CID locked. Which rom were you trying to flash ?
Now to recover,download the official carrier's rom and flash it while in bootloaders.The phone will start working again in default status,then,Read and understand the unlocking method and the flashing guide,read the stickies carefully and perform the method correctly.

i removed the simlock with lockwizb and a tried to put airfawizard rom on it so now i have this tricolord screen en there is nothing i can do.. tried to update i with the original carrier rom but it says update error so in seems it can't see my phone or something but my usb is plugged in i hope i can fix this i only can see this blue green red screen it drives me crazy hope you can help me.....

If you can go to boot loader, most likely you will be ok. When you plug in the usb port, does the words in the screen change from serial to USB? Once it changes, then flash your official, and then CID unlock your device (this is different from SIM unlock). Then flash to the ROM you want!!

The only thing it does is going to bootloader and when i plug my usb in it say usb but when i try to install my original rom from t-mobile ( a update ) it says it's looking for information on my mda but after a couple of second it's say UPDATE ERROR i use windows vista can that be a problem? and how do i know wich one is the original..?

Vista dont like upgrading and stuff...but there is a work around, search the forum and see if you find it. Or try using XP.

I attempted an upgrade to WM6 using an Upgrade .Bat from this site. I was slightly impatiant due to not being able to complete the downgrade first anyway the upgrade frose, after a while I canceled the update and carried out a hard re-set... Since then I'm not able to boot nor connect to my desktop via Active sync (WMDC (Vista))
I've followed every instruction I can find but only to be meet with RUU Errors saying can't connect or file open. I can however acces my Bootloader screen and when connection is made the USB symbol shows on the screen of my phone...
Any help would be greatly recieved......

Might have been more help asking in the hspl thread but nevermind . Try a different cable (most mini usb cables will do)

no need to go crazy, this can be fixed.
you shouldn't enter the bootloader yourself, it won't flash that way.
what error did it say in automatic mode?

i think the proplem from something lagging from the hspl software
cuz i enter the bootloader and i start manual flash and it's respond and show to me the update button and i press it and tell my software version and if i wanna change to oilnex version and i press it and show to me the percentage image on the pc and in the phone then i wait then nothing happend

you shouldn't enter the bootloader like that, the flash won't work that way.

the screenshots are very helpful in seeing what your problem is.
ok, after 3rd step now try copying Manual SSPL exe (link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=232407&d=1254155476) on the phone, run it, it should then show SSPL screen on the phone. then use the Manual flash mode on the PC. let me know if it works that way

I'm asking to make sure you did not do a hard reset or anything (I mean, don't do hard reset)

glad to help. as I said, the manual SSPL in the thread was the wrong version. I forgot to update it at one point, will add it in the thread now. (most people can just go and use automatic mode so nobody noticed there was an issue with the file.)

I really need some help please!!
I think I have read and searched and tried steps by step all the posts and threads on this, none of them work for me,
Ive flashed my HD2 & TD2 with HSPL, radios and roms many times in the past. I have a stock rom on my TD2, (havent flashed a cooked one yet but did on my HD2 and worked great),
the problem is when I try flash anything, (HSPL,Radio's and Roms)
I connect with WMDC on windows ultimate 64x and go through all the steps, the phone disconnects from WMDC when loading the tri-color screen, and installs the HTC sync drivers fine, and then (my problem) it hangs on 0%. this happens regardless of what I'm flashing after a while brings up the communication errors 208 & 260. this doesnt have any effect on the software HSPL or radio as a soft reset returns back to the homescreen just fine. I am running HSPL 1.8.3. , radio 4.49.25.17 and a shiped stock wm 6.5.
This is what Ive tried so far:
I have used 3 different micro USB cables,
updated my .net fx to 4.1
I have tried different Ruu's such as custom Ruu, Ruu from topaz, Ruu, supplied with Hspl, flashes center and KaiserCustomRUU.exe and a few others.
Ive tried the white screen fix many times. including the SDA unlocker and stuff.
I ve tried manual and automatic.
tried entering the the Tri-color screen manually and via the Ruu.
I tried different computers and different operating systems (W7ultimate and XP 32Bit and 64Bit)
tried active sync WMDC 6.0 and 6.1
Ive removed the SD card and sim and have tried flight mode
Restarted pc's mobile any reinstalled WMDC many times.
Ive tried renaming to the HSPL, radio and Rom to TOPAIMG.nbh , put 1 by 1 on formated fat32 SD card, run from Tri-color menu. all of them just hang on
loading....
Have tried mixing and matching Ruu's with HSPL's, Roms And radios and everything else i can think of, after 18 hours of this I am fed up and decided i need some help

i have now download the official RUU_Topaz_S2_HTC_WWE-AFK_2.53.421.3_Radio_Signed_Topaz_61.44etc.25.35_4 .49.25.91_Ship.exe Rom
and it worked with no problems.
it updated my HSPL from 1.83 to 2.51 and radio version to 4.49.25.91 which was exactly what i was going for.
The problem now is that i still cant change my HSPL, RADIO or flash a custom Rom which is what I need. it hangs on 0% and now gives me a 262 error which states that:
ERROR [262] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process. If this happens, you can just soft reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue. At this stage the rom on the device is incomplete and it will not boot back up into Windows. You will need to place it into the bootloader to continue.
which is not true as if a reboot it doesn't continue the update and just returns to the home screen as normal

Have tried mixing and matching Ruu's with HSPL's, Roms And radios and everything else i can think of, after 18 hours of this I am fed up and decided i need some help

i have now download the official RUU_Topaz_S2_HTC_WWE-AFK_2.53.421.3_Radio_Signed_Topaz_61.44etc.25.35_4.49.25.91_Ship.exe Rom
and it worked with no problems.
it updated my HSPL from 1.83 to 2.51 and radio version to 4.49.25.91 which was exactly what i was going for.
The problem now is that i still cant change my HSPL, RADIO or flash a custom Rom which is what I need. it hangs on 0% and now gives me a 262 error which states that:
ERROR [262] : UPDATE ERROR
This error occurs during the CE ROM code upgrade process. If this happens, you can just soft reset the device and run RUU again. The update process will then continue. At this stage the rom on the device is incomplete and it will not boot back up into Windows. You will need to place it into the bootloader to continue.
which is not true as if a reboot it doesn't continue the update and just returns to the home screen as normal
help?

Now as your device is updated (officially)... so now can you try installing HSPL from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312

Yes thanx i have. it was the first think i tried after i flashed the official HSPL, still doesnt work

Does your device is CID/SIM Locked? If yes you may have to try this first:
Diamond 2 CID/Security/SIM Unlocker. And then HSPL.

just got it right now, didnt have internet so i coudnt make use of the automatic flash with Topaz-HardSPL_V5_09R6.
this error occured when using the manual. i got internet now and used the automatic flash and it worked like a charm.
thanx again will be in contact if i have any other problems

Brother explain more, how you solved your problem... I am also facing problem my room update also stuck at 0%..... what do you mean by "get internet"? and why you need it? and on which you get it mobile or pc?.......
