well people, in this days I am setting up a little free PHP MySQL hosting, the only thing bad in it is that you have a banner at the bottom of the pages, nothing special.
I hope that is not a problem to make this pub, since this is the off-topic forum.
the link is http://www.phphost4you.com
Well who need a simple hosting with 250mb, 6gb transfer, domain manager and free subdomains, pop mail, webmail, Fantastico script auto installer.
With this free host you can maintain a on-line shop, a forum, a CMS like Mambo, php-nuke, Joomla etc, and everything at the distance of a click
Feel free to join, its automatic.

I need some advice on where to get some web hosting.. I basically need LOADS of disk space, LOADS of bandwidth
Needs to be relatively cheap though, im not rich :?
Thanks.
Erm this may not be exactly what you're after, kind of depends what you want.
I use a little proggy called no-ip (www.no-ip.com). It's free and creating your own website with WHATEVER name you want (as long as it's not taken) is FREE. ALSO you no NOT need to pay your service provider for a static IP address.
no-ip turns your computer (at home) into an internet server itself & the no-ip website automatically resolves your selected website name to the dynamic IP of your PC. Using your PC as a web server means that you can use WHATEVER web services YOU want for FREE. (I use Apache for my website itself - when I can be arse to run it that is)
Oh, and another thing, the amount of webspace you can have is limited purely by the available disk space on your PC, i.e. HUNDREDS of megabytes - again for FREE.
The only down side is that you (obviously) have to keep your PC on all the time.
The cool thing about this (for others reading) is that before I go to work, I fire up my PC & clickiity click no-ip into life, turn off the monitor & sod off to work. When I'm at work & in a lull period, I CAN REMOTE DESKTOP my PC at HOME from WORK. Ha!!!! No more restriced websites & site monitoring - Who-hoo! (Oh, that's only as long as someone else, e.g. the bloody wife - isn't using the PC as well)
Andy
Thanks for your reply...
I cant be doing with all the hassle really m8.. I have found these:
www.simtu.com
I have signed up to them on the advanced plan, 25GB of space and unmetered bandiwdth lol
Is there an online service and software that enables you to synch and share securely files and photos so that i can access all my files from anywhere in the world. Would also be useful if it natively synchronized changes to files. Was looking at sharepoint but not sure if there is a more suitable personal service enabling photo hosting and file hosting all in one place.
For accessing files on your pc, you can use ORB, which allows you to access (and stream) media and other files from your pc.
I do use orb but I was loking for an online hosting service
There are loads of free online storage companies, offering up to 50gb but not with synching, that I know of.

Try this, I use it and it's awesome: Webhosting
.
Seems as if there are quite a lot of FTP-clients out there.
I need one that:
1. is bug free/stable
2. is able to use SSH/sFTP (ie encrypted connections)
3. is easy to navigate even when browsing huge archives
4. supports the choice of binary or ascii transfers
Most important is simply just support for sFTP/SSH and letting the user chose between.
I run a large website so sFTP is absolutely a requirement and the whole server tends to go haywire if I transfer files in the wrong mode (ie a textfile in binary mode or a picture in ascii mode).
Any ideas?
I need this too. I'm using resco ftp for now, but i'm not very happy with it.
There's zaSFTP but it costs 20 bucks, not a lot but unless hearing some feedback on it I don't want to shell out the money. Especially not if there are freeware apps that are equal or better.
C'mon, we can't be just two people who needs FTP acess around these parts?
zasftp seems to be pretty good and has a free time limited trial. If this is for work you can surely either expense the twenty bucks or claim it as a tax deduction?
Pocket PuTTY is free (beer and speech) and zatunnel is free (beer) so you could run your ftp session through those if you know what you're doing.
I've been looking for a while now and that's about the best I can offer.
James
I'm in need of an sftp app for WM6 too. I've tried zaSFTP as a trial, but it doesn't seem to allow file-upload without paying for the full version, which seems a bit harsh.
A free app would be great, but I'd happily pay the $20 if there were perhaps some feedback on the product... but I'm struggling to find any.
for those of you who have tried zasftp could you tell me wether there is a switch for binary/ascii(text) transfers or not
(if it's "automatic" is there any filter list that you can edit to choose which extentions whould be transferred as ascii etc?)
Anyone know of free solutions to allow local testing of web pages on a tilt?
In my free time I write HTML, and I'm curious about how I can include this in my Tilt so I don't have to be home or use an FTP server to test the pages. I can already do uploads VIA Total Commander, but I want to test before I upload!
Also, SQL Servers on mobile, I suppose that'd be a funny joke right?
(Yes, I tried searching, but 'web' 'server' and 'mobile' are too common! If I knew the name of some software I could do further research)
I call BS. "Web server windows mobile" comes up with several results.
And there is a mobile SQL server, called SQLCE by MicroSoft.
half-true, I did see 2 pieces of software in the search, but was also looking for feedback on them as well as comments from anyone that also tried the same thing...
I'm currently giving http://www.sphinx-soft.com/MWS/order.html Mobile Web Server a shot.
For the latest MS SQL Server Mobile Edition, have a look here:
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/editions/compact/default.mspx
Of course, don't expect the same performance you get with the standard one
The main issue would be finding a web server which can interface with sql server...
There's also PocketHPH which is a lightweight webserver with PHP scripting support!
http://mobileleap.net/hph/ - it's a (maybe crippled) free-for-dev/personal-use demo, with commercial licensing available, looks like.
There's also an FTP server for PPC
There's an FTP server called ShareitFTP for PPC. It's commercial software:
http://www.noisette-software.com/products/pocketpc/ShareIt
I've played with it before, it seems pretty decent.. does users and folders and such.

When i want to try an App or Rom, and download it, i hate some FileHostSites.
As i'm a webdesigner and got my own server i made my own filehost website.
I only want to host files from/for XDA-Developers.com.
So if u want to use it as developer, use the same username as on this website, all other usernames will be deleted.
I also made the upload limit 253,5 MB as most roms don't exceed this.
It allows: CAB, ZIP, TAR, 7ZIP & RAR files.
The website is new and in beta, feel free to use it and give me some comments on it when there's a bug.
http://www.bazurk.net
Only uploaders need an account, downloaders are free to follow download links like this: http://bazurk.net/?d=16F791EA1
This seems like a great idea More so because I am at a school where most of the popular file hosting sites are blocked, which is a total pain in the ass when I want to get a ROM.
Does the site support multi-connection downloads and pausing/resuming? (DownTheMall or similar) Because that is my main beef with file hosting sites, my school's network is complete **** and if you try to download something usually it will download a meg or 2 and then slow down and eventually completely stop, at which point I have to pause and resume to keep it going.
