The TyTn II...........mmmmmmm
tytnseries.htc.com
doesn't seem to be working.
I just recently obtained an TyTN and am looking for valuable sites. Seems HTC doesn't give much support on older models.
You don't need any other site than this one.

hi all
I am a bit confused ( dont take much these days) is the HTC TYTN II the Kaiser, as they look very similar and when i google it thats what i find..
also as anyone got one recently from t-mobile as i am due a upgrade and how much did they pay for it.
Cheers for the help
Neel
Yes the Kaiser was renamed the TyTN II. Not sure about your second question.
HTC Kaiser / HTC TyTn II / T-Mobile Vario III = all the same thing
(except the Vario looks cheap and nasty)
T-Mobile is a worldwide company and people from across that world read this forum. Which T-mobile are you talking about?
I'm referring to the UK variant.

Sorry, that wasn't directed at you, but at the OP.
i am in the UK
As far as I know Kaiser is/was the name given by HTC during the development of the device. It is now sold as the HTC Tytn II. TMobile UK are selling/will be selling this as the MDAvario III. Vodaphone UK will also carry this device as V165 or something similar. All of these devices are manufactured by HTC. Most providers will have their own customised ROM installed. Currently we are unable to CID unlock these devices and so we are stuck with default provider ROMs. Eventually I am sure Pof or some other genius on here will work out how to CID unlock them and then the fun begins with our own customised ROMs.
Yep they are all Kaisers = generic name for all of them
TyTn II is the one sold under the HTC name and then as said above you have all the other variants as well.

Hi
Before I start posting for real I just want to double check that this is the correct section for my device. I bought it as a HTC TyTN II on the Orange network in the UK. I'm really confused by all the names these can be called by so if someone can confirm I'm in the right place that would be great...someone said I have a Hermes but the picture doesn't look quite right! Would it be a good idea to include as many of the various names on the forum index as poss?
Thanks
A TyTN II is a kaiser one, not a hermes. Hermes is the first TyTN

Look at the pictures
Great thanks for that - I tried a search on the general site for 'model list' but didn't find that page,
Thanks again - now all is clearer...
The Kaiser comes under a plethora of different names:
HTC TyTn II
T-Mobile MDA Vario III
AT&T Tilt (Pretty much the same without the front camera)
Vodafone v1615
O2 XDA Stellar (There are rumours that this has an FM radio built in but the O2 UK stores and website deny this)
Hi Guys,
I would like to ask if anyone knows what the differences are between the US and EU models of th TYTN II.
I would like to know because I am thinking of buying a TYTN II from the US and will be using it in the EU
thanks in advance
If by "US version" you mean the AT&T Tilt, then the difference is: $300 less, no front camera for video calls, and no TomTom GPS software. At least that the big differences...
Hi,
thanks for your input. Actually what i mean is when I go to online purchase sites like expansys I find the below when searching tytn II
HTC TyTN II
version: US, GPS, Unlocked
HTC TyTN II Value Pack
version: UK, QWERTY, GPS
HTC TyTN II
version: FR, AZERTY, GPS, EU
I think that in the french version above the keyboard layout is also different.
Could it be difference is only in the dictionary and keyboard layout between US and EU?
The US TILT keyboard will be different (QWERTY but different function keys) - and you can always put in a different dictionary. The language settings are in the ROM, not specific to the phone version. If you don't care about the front camera and different arrangement of the function keys then save some cash and buy a TILT.
Greetings guys for a while I've been searching for a Radio Update for my Diamond to enable 3G, but to no avail the best Im getting is Edge. And then I found out by reading some threads that I may have a European Version of the HTC Diamond but on the other hand Ive seen this website
http://www.welectronics.com/gsm/hTC/HTC-TOUCH-DIAMOND-US-3G.HTML
Which states that the HTC Diamond P3700 is a US 3G phone which I currently own ??? can someone educate me on this like which HTC diamond model number is which and best suited for what country thank you...
Hi All,
I'm looking to buy a good used HTC Touch Diamond but am confused as to what models are available in Australia.
I have seen P3700 and P3720 phones on e-bay but don't want to bid until I know what I'm bidding for.
What are the differences between the two models please?
Thanks,
Dave.
the 3720 is the telstra one that has the additional frequency for next-g, i have one and use all the 3700 roms and all is good, it performs and behaves just like a 3700, i guess if you actually wanted to go with telstra then you'd have next-g available in the 3720.
