sms-problems (provider epluy) - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

hi,
i upgraded my herald (wm5) with wm6 but now i somehow am not able to send text-messages. all messages are stored in drafts-folder an i got the message that the text-message could not be sent.
the service-number for text-messages should be correct, because it is retrieved automatically. i even tried different versions of telephone-numbers (containing or leaving "+49", "(", ")").
any ideas or experiences with this problem?
bye,
christian.

After I upgraded all I did was download a config cab file from my provider, it set everything automatically. Maybe your provider has a similar config file?

I have questions to this:
- what wm6 did you use: the offical or selfcooked like PDAVIET?
- have you tried the "Network Wizard" in Settings->Connections?
- have you tried to downgrade to wm5?

- i use the official download provided by htc
- i don't have a "network wizard"
- i did not downgrade because i want to try to solve this problem (before upgrade everything worked fine)

You can search the Forum for the Eplus config cabfile.
It configures WAP/WEP MMS etc. automatically, maybe also SMS i can add you at ICQ and send the File, if u want !

SMS & Email White Screen

i know that this topic was solved here previously, but i couldnt find it inspite all of the search efforts... so i really appreciate the effort if u can help me solve the problem or guide me to the topis that it was solved in.
whenever i open an sms to read it or try to compose a new one i get a white screen and i cant view or type anything.
my device PDA2K
ROM Version 5.03.02 WWE
ROM Date 03/02/05
Radio Version 1.13.00
Protocol Version 1337.42
i even installed the newsest BA_WM05_patch 2 and fixes from here...
thank u in advance
i downgraded to 2003se, file explorer, emptied the folder called (storage) where the wm5 saves it self, upgraded to wm5 BUT WITHOUT the MMS fix and it worked perfectly, while on another bluangel (for a friend) i upgraded his BA to WM05 including the MMS fix, the .net frame work 22 and the local settings for the service and it is working fine... so is it cause of MMS or not?
shall i take the risk of installing the MMS with the frame work and setting without worrying about going throught the cycle again?
please advice

[Release 1.0 RC1] AKU 3.2 ROM

Hi everybody,
Basic Info
Here it is, finally, the first RC (Release Candidate) version of AKU 3.2. This ROM contains the following:
- AKU 3.2 ROM based on the T-Mo 2.26 ROM
- Cingular 2.25 radio (since it is the best)
- Totally empty extended ROM (since this is a clean base ROM)
- Cingular bootscreen (because, uh, blue looks much better than pink )
- NO IPL/SPL so G4 owners can flash it as well
What's new in AKU 3(.2) since AKU 2.3?
- 2x zooming for videos in WMP (added in AKU 2.6)
- Slightly faster device
- Slightly improved boot time
- AKU 3 improvements are:
- Internet Sharing utility instead of Modem Link
- WPA2 support for WiFi Note: not working yet
- Improved BT Stack
- vCard support in SMS
- SMS can be saved to the SIM Card
- SMS over GPRS (if your provider supports it)
- MP3 ringtones for everything (Phone, SMS, events) Note: not working yet
- Improved welcome exe (can skip tap'n'hold tutorial, can set up email account, can set the time)
You can read more here.
Requirements
You MUST have a 2.x IPL/SPL on their devices. If you have 1.x, install first a 2.x ROM that has one.
Known bugs
- There may be problems with ActiveSync internet pass-thru
- Microsoft Voice Command will not work.
- No A2DP
- No WPA2
- MP3 still only for Ringtones
- Problems with SPB Pocket Plus
Disclaimer
While it is really hard to brick your device with this package (since it is not touching the bootloader aka. IPL/SPL), still, standard disclaimer applies: Flash this ROM at your own risk!
What's next?
When I'll have enough time I might make a ROM with extra stuff but that ain't gonna happen till this weekend or so.
Download
WM5 AKU 3.2 ROM version 1.0 RC1 for HTC Wizard (49.5 MB)
Extra note
This rar was created with WinRar 3.6 final. It is possible that you get errors at decompressing with older version so if that is the case, go to http://www.rarlab.com and install the latest version the try again.
GREAT WORK KTAMAS!!!!

Extened Roms
Hi there, I'm a bit of a newbie. How do I install an extented rom?
Ta, Rin.
Connectivity Issues.
I have a Cingular 8125.
Upgraded from AKU 2.3 (TMO USA 2.26 OS) to this.
==================================
THE GOOD:
ActiveSync works fine syncing data with my PC.
SMS (Text Messages) work both in and out.
Phone Works.
Bluetooth Works with my normal headset (Jabra BT500).
THE BAD
Internet connection won't work. I have proper GPRS Settings for Cingular (tried both ISP & WAP settings) but the connection fails always (saying the answering modem has disconnected).
When I try to use AS Pass-through it simply can't find the page.
I have tried your ROM, but unfortunatelly it flashed only bootimage (Cingular) and cleared ExtROM from Vario (from T-Mobile CZ) of my boss...
Any help? Thanks.
i added this to my beta rom.. i am installing now to test

It seems that AKU3 has a nasty bug: it fails to connect to a GPRS APN if it requires username/password. GPRS works for me cause my provider needs no UN/PW.
Edit: On the other hand, AS Passthru is not working for me.

If that is the case then it looks like I'll probably have to exclude myself from this project (which would blow chunks).

Perfect Timing!
Hi Faria,
Perfect timing to release this new beta rom just for the weekend. I'll be playing around with this ROM the coming weekend.
If you have some time, can you explain why the installation of this ROM has some manual actions like executing am autorun.exe from the My Documents folder.
I'll keep you informed about my results with this ROM.
Kind regards,
Nico Dekker

Great work. I'll download this rom today and test it.
I'll keep you informed about my results with this ROM and my bluetooth stereo
Just installed the new release. Very cool startup screens. Installation went flawlessly (install rom, run autorun.exe, run operator config). Paired my Plantronics 590 Stereo Headset and I'm now listening to music in strereo! Thanks for resolving this!
Post more as I try it out.
Thanks!!

sure,
due to this rom has the security desabled by default ,for some weird reason this autorun file does not work with comands from the extended rom.
but im trying to get rid of the auto run for good.
i does work if the rom has security enabled ,but then when it finishes installation it turns the rom security on by itself!!!!
i have allredy send this bug to the develpors of the autorun file.they are investigating.
plus i moved the autorun file from the extended rom because some testers could not run it in the last beta.
G3 device
Faria,
can I put this ROM to a G3 device ( IPL 2.26 SP 2.26, Molski 30 Mb ROM )
Thanks

it is safe since the rom has no bootloader integrated.but i dont know if u are able to install.since people with g4 have trouble installing 3.2. roms.
most liklely because is cid locked.
u can unlock cid in a g4 at imeicheck uk or something like that.
nevertheless a would keep an original rom from your carrier for recovery purposes or make an sd backup.

Working more with the ROM....
The operator config doesn't seem to be working for me. I did do the autorun.exe first and then ran it. At the end, it rebooted. I soft-reset and re-ran the operator file (USA_Cingular), and still don't see the definitions in the settings as I did with the last ROM release.
Ideas?

the last rom had 2 files for you carier.this one has one that i found in the xda.maybe thats the problem.if you want i can send you the last rom files.
Another item....
Registry Wizard doesn't seem to run: "Am unexpected error has occurred in Registry Wizard.exe." Related to the operator config?
Thanks!
Can't wait to test it!
After all the positive feedback I read from the initial testers, can't wait to test it myself.
Anyway Faria, thank you very much for investing the time and energy in these kind of initiatives!
Best regards,
Brian.

the cab files for your operator are in the first post.
Hi,
Can I install in this rom the Ringo software. In the last one it made wizard crash, only with one hard-reset I solved that problem.
Thanks and great work
Just installed the version
So far so good. Works well. Installation took less than 10 minutes, and only got stuck at 99% for about 2 minutes.
One small thing that looks like a bug is when I try to close the task manager, it won't let me and then I have another task manager in the icons in the bottom of the screen. Is this a real problem or am I using it in the wrong way?
Download, and flash went along perfect. Followed directions exactly. After Extended Rom was installed, and device reset, got the error message "Cannot execute calnot.exe" Then installed my operator settings (US-Cingular) which evidently didnt work correctly - no big deal. After that soft reset, got the error message "cannot execute repllog.exe" I have since soft reset again, with no errors. Off the start, the only thing I see that I dont like is the new clock in the top right. It is cutting the year digit off. Is there a way to just revert back to the standard time? I have alos noticed the task manager quirk as described in the above post.

Vodafone ROM on Cingular Treo 750

I downloaded the Vodafone NL rom update for the 750, and i put it on the memory card as instructed, however, when it flashes, which takes about 30 minutes, when I hard reset as I am instructed to do (in Dutch), the vodafone rom seems to have taken effect because of the theme and the different initial settings when setting up the device, but in the device information, it says 1.13-CNG instead of 1.15-VFE. I am trying to switch to the Vodafone ROM to correct some bugs that are going on with the Cingular ROM, and I used the Nextgen Server to unlock the phone (and supposedly CID unlock as well).. any help would be appreciated!

In treocentral a guy replied me that the following features are also prsent in vodafone one:
1- Direct dialing from the today screen (lookup field)
2- The customized right softkey (menu)
3- Photo today speed dial (I know it is present in 750v also)
4- when u missed a call, u get an option to callback or dismiss.
5- When u dial an unkown number, u get the option to add to contacts or copy and add.
6- Threaded SMS messaging
7- searching for contacts from messages editor.
8- keyguard program.
Did you miss any feature that was in cngular ROM and not present in Vodafone ROM other than those specified? and apart from the stability, what about the fastness, is vodafone ROM faster than the cingular?
Lastly, I noticed that the cingular ROM sometimes miss some missed calls ad i have to go to cal log to verify the missed calls, di u experience such a problem in vodafone ROM?

According to Palm's Windows Mobile dev guide there is a slight difference in the radio between the Treo 750 and the Treo 750v.

Which Vodafone rom ...
Which rom did you use on the Treo 750/Cingular?

No internet, GPRS, WAP UK HTC Diamond

My htc diamond was locked on ORANGE UK, SO, i came onto this site and flashed it with a new rom using olinex 1.40 hardspl. I also flashed a new radio rom 1.00.25.05. I've just recently updated it with the new 2.03 rom wwe. But it was ever since i first flashed the rom that i noticed everything like gprs, mms, wap etc didn't work. I've since been using a O2 simcard. I have tried inputting the O2 settings but it doesn't dial out, or so it says. I was just wondering, does it have anything to do with the radio? Or is it a hardware fault...i can't get my head around it.
Download and install this cab file from your phone and restart.
HERE (orange UK only)
Which ROM did you flash?
Cheers for the reply and sorry for my late reply.
That file would be kind of useless since i am using an O2 simcard atm. I've unlocked the phone so that it can be used on any network, but for some reason i cannot connect to GPRS, MMS or WAP. it says it cannot dial out when all the settings are correct. I've even downloaded and installed the settings from the O2 cab file from this forum but it still doesn't work.
Right now i have the 2.03 rom flashed XBMOD.
The file was provided as you mentioned

Which made me presume you wanted the settings for the Orange network.
Although there should be no problem with the radio you are using, XBmod suggests in his post using radio 1.09.25.23.
Have you tried changing the radio?
Radio Roms can be flashed from the device if renamed to DIAMIMG.nbh and you quickly hold down the "down volume key" and the <-- Back button when switching on the device.

Yah, i've just changed the radio to .23 but still nothing. I just can't get the thing to dial out! Is there a setting that i need to check to see if it's enabled or not? =s Its jsut annoying that i can't send MMS or use GPRS on the go.
At least you can use the phone! My problem is the opposite...unlocked using the Olinex method...I can use GPRS MMS etc, but I can't reciever any calls or SMS...
I'm on 3 in Australia, so while we're on different continents & our problems are almost oppposite...I feel ur pain!
i seem to be in the same boat.
purchased diamond (orange branded) on ebay, phone unlocked to work with vodafone ireland. no roms flashed or anything else.
settings got for vodfone isp & live! i have tried both but to no avail. when i try to go on the internet via opera or ie i get a proxy server error on opera and on ie 'the page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost etc......'
i have noticed one thing though, on the modem settings when i input the username/password as advised by vodafone, when i go back in to check these settings there are more than the normal amount of * which would equate to the password - dont know if that even makes a difference.
does anyone have any idea
Hey guys,
Anyone found a fix for this? I have the same problem with the mms... the settings are right I'm sure. I unlocked using Olinex 1.4? hardspl? Urm would like it to work ......... any suggestions.
Was on Orange UK now unlocked and using my O2 sim.
