Bug: Start Menu locking up after phone call - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I have a strange problem with my new Kaiser and was wondering if other see that too.
After making a phone call and pressing the end button, the screen backlight turns off and the start button (hardware button & menu) no longer responds.
I have now worked out that this is caused by syncing with exchange server.
Is anybody else using exchange server push e-mail? Are you having trouble?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I already did a hard reset and set everything up from scratch. Didn't resolve it.
Many Thanks
Magxs

Please ignore...

Just worked out that the issue is caused by exchange server sync and amended my above posts.
Thanks

Sorry for posting again, but I am making progress.
I have now found that the problem is actually not exchange server sync but locking the device with a password (Start/Settings/Lock). I thought is was the exchange server, because our server requires the use of a password.
I did another hard reset and did not configure exchange. The only thing I did was lock the device with a password and tried making a phone call. Bingo. Locking up.
If the password is removed, it is back to normal.
Now that I know the issue, I will open another thread with a better topic.
If any admins see this, please feel free to delete my journey of discovery.

Screen Sleep

Sweet site I have everyone in the office screwing with there 8125's now!
When upgrading to any of the ROMs I have noticed when I turn off the power (Sleep) it kicks back on for no reason. Its not the end of the world but it happens Sporadically and I've remove apps, but it doesn't seem to matter. I have been installing SPB Diary but it occurs with or without that.
Thanks
Don't use a password under START...SETTINGS...LOCK.
don't have a choice echange server security policy requires it.
You do understand the setting I speak of has nothing to do with your Exchange server settings, right?
Just flashed it again i will check it out when its setup again.
thanks

Periodically get Support Code 0x85010004

About once a day I go to check my email on my Tilt and I will see that I don't have any messages. If I open up active sync I will see that the circular icon is orange and I have this error:
"You account in microsoft exchange server does not have permission to sync with your current setting. support code:0x85010004"
If I soft reset and then go back into active sync and manually run sync, everything will be fine again for about 24 hours and then for no reason at all I will get that error again.
It's pretty annoying because I have to check active sync every so often to make sure that it's still working and hasn't crapped out on me.
When I searched on this problem it seemed like everyone else who was getting this error was having it as a constant problem. With me it just shows up periodically, which is why I'm posting.
Any ideas how to fix this? I'm not sure what other info you might need to help me, just let me know and I will try to provide it. Thanks!
Hey I haven't searched or anything but just opened the forum up and came upon your post.
I get the exact same thing - only started happening a week or so ago. I use GoodLink most of the time but I still sync with my Exchange server because I like the Pocket Outlook calendar better.
Weird that this is all of a sudden and intermittent !!!!!!!
I have never had this before and I have had the Kaiser for about 6 weeks or longer.
Are we REALLY the only two out there experiencing this problem - how lucky we are !!
Anyone have any suggestions on where else to look to try to troubleshoot this weird issue?
Yeah, I'm still wondering. It still seems to happen once every day or two.
Very annoying to always have to make sure to open up active sync and check to make sure it hasn't crapped out.
It would be nice to know I could always just trust that it's working correctly.
You can add a third person now. exact same issue. Looking for an answer.
Make that a fourth person.
I'm using Activesync to sync with an Exchange 2003 SP2 box. Everything runs fine - mail is pushed to my device, along with contacts, calendar and task items. After about 24 hours, I get an Activesync error 0x85010004.
I am using a certificate from "Certificates for Exchange". Link
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Take a look at the link below. The suggested solution was posted from Jun/07.
Cliffnotes : In this scenario, it was happening to ALL Activesync users on the Exchange 2003 server at periodic times. Apparently Activesync was sending responses to a diff IP/virtual server. He was able to resolve it by setting the exchange box to only have one IP.

Thanks for the link. I read through it a few weeks ago in my quest to solve this problem.
In my case, my Exchange box only has, (and has only ever had), one IP address so this solution wouldn't apply.

Setting up work email

I'm not sure how I did it, but I managed to configure my Tilt to sync with my work email. It worked for about a week then it stopped syncing. When I check the settings, the password looks way to long. I correct the password but it changes back to a password twice as long. I'm confused.
How do you all get work email on your phone. Do you push it somehow? I can access it online through an owa address.
First, the password looks long because it's masked to prevent people guessing it.
Ask your IT guy what to do.
Man something is going on.
The setting keep changing back. When I put in the server address, it keeps chopping of the end /exchange/. I had it running for a week. Everything was perfect. Now I can't set it up. It has to be something changing the settings.
Finally got it working.
My Tilt has always been reluctant to accept any change in settings without soft resetting. I changed the email settings, soft reset the device, and made sure to UNCHECK ssl encryption and it's working ok now.

Having trouble with Yahoo e-mail...

I have a Sprint Touch Diamond and constantly have to sign out of Yahoo and sign back in because it won't update my e-mail saying that there's a problem with the password. It gets frustrating having to do this sometimes 4 or more times a day.
Anyone have any thoughts or tips on how to fix it?
Me too
I have sprint Diamond also and have randomly experienced this too. The only way I ever get it to stop giving the 'password' error alert when it starts that cycle is go to email, Tools, Edit Account Setup, then 3 or so pages into account setup is Advanced Server Settings, then 'Network Connection' dialog box. You should be able to select 'The Internet', or 'Sprint', or 'Work'. I switch to whichever one I'm not currently using, and that usually fixes it....until next time.
Hope this helps at all. I know this is kind of a messy post, hope it makes sense at all to ya.
Thanks for the tips...I'll try it and see how it does.
Still having issues with this...anyone else have any info/tips on how to fix this?

[Q] Microsoft Exchange sync problem

After about 2hours of using my phone on wifi the exchange sync (built in mail application) doesn't sync anymore (internet itself keeps working). If I then disable en enable wifi, it works again.
I connect to exchange via https (outlook anywhere). Same goes for calendar.
btw, my GMAIL keeps working with no problem. It's just exchange that stops syncing
have you tried restarting the phone?
might be a service that got stuck
yep, doesn't fix it.
I'm gonna test TouchDown to see if it shows the same behaviour
Are you accessing Exchange via "Email for Exchange" or "Corporate"?
what do you mean?
I've made an account on my phone that connects to the 'webmail' of the exchange. Official name is Outlook Anywhere.
noob with similar issue
I'm a relative newbie to this forum so unsure of posting protocol, apologies in advance.
But whatever. I have the att version of the galaxy--the captivate--and have had a hard time getting exchange to work reliably. I've several times deleted and re-created my exchange account, and it will sync initially, and sometimes once or twice thereafter. But then, it ceases working competely, simply saying it has a "connection error".
This happens whether I'm on my company's wi-fi, home wi-fi, or just over the air 3G. the only fix is to recreate the account, and that's a pain.
I had an old winmo HTC fuze for a couple years, and it worked fine with this exchange server--I don't think I ever had to recreate the account, and it was thoroughly reliable. I also borrowed an old G1 for a couple weeks, used Roadsync, and it worked fine too.
I read in another forum that advanced task killer was the culprit, so I deinstalled it. No change. I also read that turning the synchronization on & off from the power widget was worth trying. Also no change.
Any other ideas? I too will try a 3rd party client before returning the phone. I mostly like the phone otherwise, though the GPS problem is annoying.
Appreciate any help.
Tried it with Touchdown: same issue. It tells me: No available network. However website continue to work...
When I click some links/visit some sites, it starts working again...

it sounds like the Wireless or 3G goes into sleep mode when you are not using it.
I have a similar problem, my calendar is able to sync but contacts unable to sync with exchange server.
