3g 1700 - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Does anyone know if there will an htc branded TyTN II that supports 3g 1700? If so, any idea when we will se it? I've been searching around and can't seem to find anything.

Doubt T-Mobile would let HTC release 1700 MHz version to ANYONE else.

Any news on tri-band UMTS Diamond?

I am dreaming of getting the one which supports UMTS 850/1900/2100 bands.
Any news?
Nobody know it? So sad...
There is no such thing as a tri-band UMTS Diamond, all are just dual band. 850/1900 for the US Version, 850/2100 for the Australia version, and 900/2100 for the European version.
I thought I read somewhere that there is an Australian version of the Touch Diamond 120 (100 for Europe/Asia, 110 for NAM) that supports dual-band UMTS 850/2100, which should let 3G work on any continent. If someone actually has this model or can confirm, that would be great.
EDIT: Whoops, guess the guy above me posted a little faster Anyone know if an online retailer has the AUS model on sale?
Well it wouldn't work in any place that requires 900, it also wouldn't work on AT&T in certain 1900-only 3G zones. I don't know what market uses what frequency for AT&T, so I really couldn't tell you if your area will work with the 850/2100 Diamond or not.

Go to ebay.com.au and search... 650 AUD = 544 USD, for perspective
I'm assuming that's the Australian version... But PM every seller before buying to confirm
in my diam100 with italian official rom I have this:
is it normal?
Yessuh, all Diamonds have it, but it doesn't work. It doesn't reflect the hardware in the device at all, standard to all devices.

Unlocked Tytn II unable to connect to Tmobile 3G

I realize topic has been mentioned several times previously, but I think I'm missing something and haven't been able to find the answer yet.
T-mobile's 3G runs on 1700/2100 (per the Tmobile website).
The TyTn II can work on 850/1900/2100 frequencies.
(The Tmobile G1 works on 1700/2100)
I've seen several threads here about trying to mod the TyTn (via hardware/software/rom upgrades) to work on 1700, but I'm missing the purpose if it can connect to Tmobile's 3G on the 2100 frequency.
So does the TyTn need to connect on *both* the 1700 and 2100 fequencies to connect to the 3G network?? Or does Tmobile use the 1700 in some markets while using 2100 in other markets?
Thanks for shedding some light!
(I'm using TyTn II purchased in Asia (unlocked) with Tmob's flexpay with unlimited internet, here in metro DC area)
It won't ever work. Sorry. You have to connect to both: 2100 to transmit and 1700 to receive. Also, tmobile's 2100 is different than everyone else's 2100 so you're screwed both ways.
Tytn II (tilt keyboard)
same problem here. I cannot believe it. how is that this 3G is different everywhere you go? on the box of this phone it says that he has basically all all the different bands you need. and still it doesn't work? i have not tried yet to go downtown Atlanta, since i am not sure here in alpharetta the signal is deployed for sure. nobody knows anything at Tmobile. please let me know if you have any additional news about it, otherwise this phone is going on sale on ebay. period. thanx, Paul.

[Q] tilt 2 3g help

im wondering. is there any way i can get 3g working on my unlocked atat tilt 2. im using cincinnati bell wireless now but im thinking bout switching phones because i cant use 3g thx.
Snooping around the net, I've found that Bell Wireless in Cincinatti uses 1700/2100 MHz bands for 3G. Both bands are needed for 3G (one is upload, one is download), similar to T-Mob.
The At&T Tilt2 isn't compatible with the 1700 MHz band. Its a hardware issue, so no software or tweaks are going to get you 3G. If you get an unlocked T-Mob branded version of the Touch Pro 2, it should work on your network's 3G.
This should be in the General section, not ROM Development.

Need some help

I am about to buy the t mobile g2x. It is the same as this but branded for t mobile. I am bringing it into the uk but im concerned if it will work on 3g in the uk. It uses 1700 and 2100 for 3g whilst most uk phones use 900, 1900 and 2100 for 3g. Will flashing a rom from the optimistic 2x forum fix the problem or will I have to do something else?
DONT flash O2x roms BIG NO NO
It wont fix ya phone but will probably break it.
Flashing any rom or baseband wont work
4g Network doesn't work in the uk

3g problems nexus one

Hi,
I bought a nexus one and it works great. However, I have a problem with my 3g. I recently bought a data package from Tmobile. My nexus one never connects to 3g it is always on ā€œEā€ (edge). I tried to research the problem and found many solutions that worked for other people but never worked for me. I get a real strong signal (-65dBm and more). I know I have 3g on my line because placed my sim card in HD2 and galaxy s and get 5 full bar of 3g. Do you guys recommend any ideas that would help me out?
Im running pure google mod Rom
With Wildmonks cm7 kernel
And radio 5.12.00.08
i had other Rom and kernel downloaded before to make sure it wasn't the problem.
Thank you
Sounds like you got one of the AT&T models. There were two different N1s made. One that supported AT&T's 3G network, and one that support T-Mobile's 3Gnetwork. The phone will work on the other network, but will not connect to 3G.
Verify which phone you have by the following:
Pull the battery and look for the PB # which is located just below the IMEI, S/N, and P/N #ā€™s. You should see one of two PB numbers:
PB99110: 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, and 2100 MHz such as AT&T in the US and Rogers Wireless in Canada
PB99100: 900 MHz, AWS, 1700 and 2100 MHz such as T-Mobile US and Vodafone in Europe
