Hi,
Is anyone using Vodafone "Blox" from The Netherlands?
http://www.vodafone.nl/english/subscription/blox/
http://www.vodafone.com/start/media...s/netherlands_press/vodafone_netherlands.html
It is 1.8 Mbps for only 9.95 euro / month !
How is your experience with their service?
And the speed is really that fast?
Compared to the T-Mobile NL (69.95 euro / month for 1.8 Mbps!!!), Vodafone is really cheap!
Please share your experience if you use it
Thanks!

I know. The only provider which offers trully inlimited is T-Mobile also KPN is not really unlimited. So IMHO stick with PITP even if it is only 192 kbps

This thread will be for anyone who has specific info on the release of the USA version of the Diamond (DIAM200) with US 3G bands.
I'll start... so far this is all I've seen. It's a start, but it's from May 9th so who knows what's changed by now, and a price range would be nice.
http://msmobiles.com/news.php/7344.html
If you know anything... post it here!
I have heard that it might not be till August/Sept before the USA version is released...i cant remember the site where i read it from but the person did say it could be end of summer before the American version is released.
I have the Diamond now..pending some performance fixes, I will be grabbing the US model when its released!
Its coming in July.... Early July... mobilecityonline just got back to me with this info and they will have it! They will also get the touch pro one month after the euro version comes out.... Not too bad.

yes they told me the same thing.....i hope it turns out to be true.
This is one of the things that bothers me about the Diamond. Here in Brazil HSDPA bands are 850 and 2100 MHz, so we will probably need a specific model.
Did they happen to say what US bands will be on it? ATT or Tmobile? Contract is up in August and replacing my wing with a touch pro one way or another

99.9% chance it'll be ATT USA Bands (850+1900) like every other HTC NA model out there...who knows though, maybe they'll throw the 1700 on there for ****s and giggles but I doubt it!
Has anyone tested the UK model to see if it actually has 850 on it and working? It wouldn't be the first time...
Just curious.

If i recall correctly, someone did check and it doesnt come with the 850 band on it...this is the asian version though. The proper UK models havent been released yet in the UK...next week is what they are saying.
If you have bought a diamond recently from Expansys or ebay, then its not a UK spec model but a grey import from Hong Kong ie its an asian unit.
I hope this includes the Raphael as well.
The GMS bands of the phone work fine in the us?
It only supports the 1900 band, right? Is there complete coverage in the US?
just got an update from mobilecity now us version expected sept.......this blows i was really looking forward to getting this phone ....and i know about it working with tmobile but i need my hsdpa speeds!

ATT you will have problems with this phone as much of their network, including NYC, is only 850mhz. Tmobile USA however is 100% 1900 w/ Full EDGE so you should get a good experience with this phone on Tmo!

What a damn letdown.
I work for tmobile and i have confirmed that the diamond will be available through tmobile... but not until the 4th quarter. No exact date and thats all i could get the htc rep to spill.
t-mobile US?
yes tmobile us
4th Qtr. 2008 that sucks...
I, couldn't wait for the US version, so I ordered mine last week & it was sent from Asia. The phone works great with T-Mobile, EDGE is pretty quick & voice calls are crystal clear so far.

You are using T-Mobile service in the U.S.?
hi frm india and i wanna get the diamond2 but its not gonna be released here for a long time so planning to get it from some other country
SO PLS TELL ME WHICH COUNTRY WOULD BE THE BEST OPTION
Europe!
I think there won't be any serious differences between the European countries...
But think of Germany, because we are the "Export-Champions".
The Touch Diamond 2 will hit the German market (ca.) at the 17th April and will cost about 450€.
take a look:

It works out cheaper to buy from the UK, if you can find someone that does international shipping. The Euro is too strong compared to the pound at the moment to make ordering from the rest of Europe worthwhile.
i too am from mumbai india abnd needed the diamond could some1 let me know when is it expected in india and if i buy it from europe will i still be able to use all features prefer buying it from here though
dude, just get it from Clove UK. they have very good ratings..

yes but will all features of a european diamond work and also during a rom update will u update it as india update or uk update since the radio and connectivity will be different
not 100% sure, but the specs of the euro diamond should essentially be the same as the ones you will get in india..check out the specs, only difference between euro and us version are the wcdma bands and as far as i know india does not have proper 3g connections yet, so why bother?
as far as updates are concerned, u will get the standard update..there is no uk/india update unless your phone is tied to a network. u can go ahead and buy the d2.
I am from India too.. i am planning to buy D2 from Clove.
But what about the excise/customs charges? How much do we have to pay to import the D2?
I think now it's 35% for personal electronic goods (Previously blanket 200%). But never know these corrupt ppl anyways. Not much personal experience.
Also Express shipping DHL are always checked unlike ordinary post which may skip thru. Also for gift items they might consider waiver (upto 10$/INR 500 worth) but not for such costly items. Never misstate the contents as it may get confiscated in addition to getting U into serious legal trouble.
Hey,
I've come across a pretty cheap HTC One in Hong Kong during my holiday, they are selling it for just over 800USD. Will LTE still work in the UK (where I live) if I get the Hong Kong version?
To my knowledge, the radio frequency in HK should be similar if not the same to the ones in UK.
http://goo.gl/QXKfu
The image above shows that the asian version having pretty much all the bandwidths as the UK one. Will the missing 1 bandwidth affect me?
Cheers,
big_me
EE is using 1800MHz, so it should be fine. You'll likely have to pay for HTCs worldwide warranty though, which is probably about 30 quid if you need to claim from the UK, and may mean it takes longer to fix.
Where did you see it?
EE is 1800mhz, what is three (Hutchinson) ?
and I saw it in this sketch mall called 'Sinciere Podium'.

Three don't have LTE yet, but they bought a bunch if 800MHz spectrum, so they'll probably use that.
youll be missing out alot without 800mhz
Cheers guys,
Guess i'll just wait till i get back to the UK then.

when you said 800USD was it american dollars or hong kong dollars?
Well it was 4980hkd which is roughly 800us dollars.
Thought I'd put the US equivalent since the majority of people on xda seem to prefer USD...
This purpose of this thread is to discuss the pricing and availability in the Netherlands.
Will we, as always, be overlooked again by Google and get the N5 during springtime with an extremely inflated pricetag?
Or will Google see us Dutchies and release it through the Play Store?

No way is Google going to be looking at The Netherlands, unfortunately. I'm going to Germany on the launch date as I'm sure we won't be able to purchase the device through the Play Store. Also, if regular webshops order a couple of devices, they'll price them at above €500,-, as they did with the Nexus 4.
Hoping Google will prove me wrong!

I ordered my Nexus 4 in the UK. I did it through a friend who lives there. I ordered it myself through a proxy server and used his address for the shipping. The first time (before I had to RMA) I could order with my own dutch creditcard. When I had to do an RMA because of a defect I had to order with a card registered on the same address where the phone will ship (Had to use the card of my friend). I think that this is still necessary. For the shipping to The Netherlands my friend used royal mail and it was about 10 Euro.

2-4 days maybe?
Nou ik ga hem in ieder geval niet kopen voor de achterlijke prijs van 459 euro, een ritje naar Duitsland misschien... (Mediamarkt Nordhorn?)
Well I am not gonna buy it for the extremely high price of 459 euros, maybe a trip to Germany...
Sounds like a roadtrip. I'm driving to Germany and get myself one there. You're all welcome to join!
If it has to go through the Playstore, I'm getting it from France through a friend.
Why don't I have friends in abroad country's?
I could easily get it from the USA. The problem is, I'm not sure if the version sold in the USA supports the LTE frequencies in The Netherlands. As of now, we have no clue as to which version Google actually released. Are they two separate versions or is a single version that supports all the LTE networks across the globe...
I am wondering about the bands as well, also does anyone have experience buying it through a friend and having it sent to you? Last time I bought t-shirts from the US, I had to pay the same amount as the t-shirts were in import taxes. I am kinda trying to not pay double the Google Store price
ps. Belgium here.

You probably want to get the model from China, that one has full 2G and 3G support, and partial 4G support (Virgin Mobile, Post Office Mobile, Go Mobile, EE and BT mobile seem to be most compatible while others may not at all support this device on 4G)
Get it from websites such as aliexpress as it will be way more affordable
