No, the Kaiser battery combined the door and battery into one piece plus the battery has different contacts.

Actually the door and battery are seperate, but the battery has only 4 contacts (Hermes has 6) and they are in a different place, plus there is a ground plate in the Kaiser battery, not present in the Hermes.

Form factor is different - Kais160 versus HERM160, 35H00074-00M for the Hermes.
Mugen Power is currently developing a high-performance battery for the Kaiser.

UK 1900mh battery

Hi i was in tottenham court road yesterday and came across a battery for the XDAIIs rated at 1900mh. The battery was marked on the back as being for Dopod/XDAIIs which maybe means its from the same source as O2 asia XDAIIs's but no manufacturer and came in a plain white box. Has anyone in asia come across such a battery? If i bought one could it possibly damage my XDAIIs and generally are 3rd party batteries any good? Thanks

Higher mAh has no effect on your BlueAngel, only the Voltage must mach, there a wrong Voltage can fry your Device. But as the Battery for the BlueAngel is so unique in shape, the chances are very high that it matches perfectly and is manufactured for the sole purpose as replacement Battery for the BlueAngel.

This is a very good question. And can not be answered in general. It really depends on the manufacturer. And in 99% of the cases you will hardly know if that is the truth what is printed on the battery. On German TV they show Horror-Scenarios of exploded Cell-Phone Batteries. But in my view this happens more while charging, a battery to explode while using (not using and charging) is highly unrealistic. But nothing is impossible.
3rd Party Batteries are often even better (Cell Phones, DigiCams etc) and to have 2 Batteries is the best thing you can do to a battery! Always use the battery until it is empty and then recharge it fully. So if you do that even with a "bad Battery" in mAh (=Shorter Usage Time) you will get longer Battery-Life of your original Battery. And this is unfortunately true with all Battery-Types (Although they try to tell you that LiON Batteries doe not have a Memory Effect [Same lie was told about NiMH in the beginning]) So constantly charging the Battery in the Cradle or in the Car every night is the worst thing you can do...
The exploding battery scenario is during charging,(mostly with non-oem chargers) or dropping of the phone to a hard surface. As far as battery memory is concerned,Lion batteries do not take a memory set condition as long as they are charged fully before use. Most people charge them the first time until the fully charged indicator comes on. This is wrong!!! You should always charge any battery as described in the owners manual. If it says to charge for a specific length of time, DO IT !!! Do not go by the charging indicator. If you do that, the battery will outlast most other types of batteries.

I think ill risk it and buy one tonight on my way home from work and ill post the details afterwards, i only went into one shop, price was £44.99, ill check other shops for other options. They also had the stock battery for £35, i think
I bought the battery and am charging it, ill give it an overnight charge and test it tomorrow. It fits perfectly and feels solid, difference from the stock battery is that it doesnt have an indentation and is slightly raised at the bottom but it still fits my standard case no problem. I bought it from Inkino, 020 7631 4567

Battery life?! - please confirm the influence of radio version (post 38)

What is your experience with battery life? How often have you recharge it?
Twice a day. But thats because Im using high speed data (3G, HSDPA, WiFi), browsing the web a lot and testing/developing software.
Thanks. And what is "stand by" time? If I leave the mobile switched on without using.
hey
i think it can last for more than 3 days on standby. i recharge it once a day (normal use). if i do heavy data/multimedia use its twice a day.. not so nice as i think
I am disappointed to find that using gps in car with Tilt plugged into car charger, the battery drains faster than it recharges - requiring a charge with phone off to get full battery. Anyone else?

I guess he means HTC Kaiser / Tytn II aka AT&T Tilt.
mine is also not really great, if i compare it to my old vpa compact II, which has a bigger touchscreen and only 200mah bigger battery, its really shameful, cause my old vpa holds easily 3-4 days, but it has only 200mhz i will look for a stronger battery for my s730...
please report in if you find a stronger battery

1800 mAh cant have the same size as the 1050's from HTC. It may be bigger but this meand you need special cover. S710 and S730 uses same batteries but the cover is different (I tried that).
1) And the cover is included - or it is the bottom of battery?
2) Can you make the photo?
3) How it increase the battery life?
Yeh moneytoo - you mean the differences between the original battery putted to s710 and s730. well it be interesting if somebody will share the experience with this (maybe thicker) stronger battery and put here the back loop.
Thanks, R.
P.S. On the other side - the capacity of AAA cells is still growing - but the size is the same.
ive found this one:
http://cgi.ebay.de/2250mAh-Extented...ageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638.m122
but the question is: it is the right cover for s730? if not, where can i get it...
The battery life is just useless on this phone and I'm ready to give up on it.
I charge it fully overnight and with normal use (less than 1 hour of calls, some texting, web browsing on 3G) it is completely dead by 6-7pm! This is without using WiFi, Bluetooth, media player, skype or anything else you might think would be more battery intensive.
I'm often out at work all day and don't get home until late in the evening. I need a phone that will last at least 12-15 hours with normal use, and the S730 does not seem up to the task.
Is this just par for the course with WM6 phones or what?
i just got mine and talking all day it has lasted two so far with 30% left on the original (out of the box) charge.

HTC Diamond2 battery life 50% more then the Diamond??

Guys,
Can someone explain to me how the TD2 claims 50% more batter life then the TD???? The TD is 900 mah and the TD2 is 1100 mah... how is this 50% more or am I missing something?
I was thinking that maybe the TD2 uses a diff kind of battery but its the same Lith ion is it not?
Then I was thinking that maybe its the hardware but the TD2 has better specs then the TD so shouldnt it use more juice?
Then the TD2 screen size is bigger so shouldnt that also use more battery power?
So it excapes me how the TD2 has 50% more battery life??? I ask because I am considering to get the TD2 so I'm doing my due dilligance. My other choices are the HTC Touch HD and the Nokia N97.
thanks guys
HTC is a piece of sheet. Buy a Nokia
i cant tell why they say 50% better, but it is much better in battery life :-D
hummm..... thanks for the replies
although the battery capacity only went up slightly, htc said they decreased the battery usage, so a fully charged battery should last 50% longer. at least thats wut I've read..
They have made the device more power efficient, as I have said many times before on these forums, I DEFINITELY get at least 50% more life than I did on my TD1.

Well, I was asking myself the same question.
After looking at the size of booth ...well, if TD2 is 1100mah ... then TD1 is 600Mah ..
I think that the 900mah of the battery of the td1 was not true.
Look at this pic, the TD2 battery is almost the double of the size of the TD1...
(remember that the TD2 is bigger than the TD1)

tho the size is bigger its still not double i think.... hence it must be something to do with the ROM of the TD2 that is more energy efficient is all i can come up with... I doubt its the touch flow 3D as more was added to it and from that perspective, I would assume it uses more battery.. oh well....
Does anyone actually use the TD2 now who also had the TD as I think those people would know best.
thats true..
Rom does matter.
2 things that affect the battery life a lot
ROM version and Radio Version.
but according to my experience using newest HTC mobiles, i fells no worry.
upgrading to new official ROM and got so much improvements
you'll find newest official ROM release for TD2 at htc.com

Well if it was thin it wouldnt be an "extended" battery would it? The whole point is that its extended to fit more power into it.
If it was easy to get more power into a battery then HTC would already supply them with the HD2 and extended ones wouldn't be needed/wanted.
apperantly you dunno anything about material science.
CAN'T a new battery with a better performance with SAME SIZE come out? Oh of course no! cuz it doesn't have bigger size.
Don't think there are any worth considering... there are 1600mah batteries on ebay but the overall consensus is that they're just about the same as ome battery ... it would truly make HD2 a much better phone if they can just extend the stock battery by a bit...

lol, your scientific/logical huge brain obviously missed the point.
You asked for an "extended" battery, that would infer you wanted one that was "extended" beyond the normal limits. Currently the only way to get one that is beyond the limits of the ones that are supplied with devices are to buy ones that are "extended" meaning they are larger in dimension and hold more power.
Currently you CANT get a battery for our device that has the capacity of a extended one unless its "extended". The ones you see on ebay and other sites saying otherwise are FAKE.

I suspect that if someone made a genuine Lithium Polymer battery instead of Li-Ion it would indeed hold more charge. But I have not seen any such. The Andida is listed as LiPoly, but it can't be - it is basically the same mA as the stock battery.
Mugen has a 1300mah battery, which is a little more than the 1230 or 1250mah the stock battery comes with. I think I get a little more time with my mugen battery than with the stock, but never ran any definitive tests. But mugen is probably the best you will get with a battery the same size as the stock one.

Why do you guys disinform people? As a matter of fact there are "extendend" batteries that have the same size as the OEM batt. Where it is written that a battery extended in power must also be extended in size? Of course, there is a relation between size and power, but this relation might vary depending on the materials and the technology used.
Here you have a 2430 mAh battery (the "famous" business gold battery, which no one here bothered to test), and the seller says it has the same dimensions as the original one. If this battery has indeed 2430 mAh remains for us to find out. I'm thinking to buy one, just to test.

Nowhere in the add does it state that it is the same size as the OEM battery. I'm wondering if it really is; from the picture angles it is difficult to tell and might be deeper. But it is probably the same.
However, the packaging looks amateurish and suspect. This almost looks like a home-made wrapper.
Let us know if you order one!
Gold Battery
OK, I asked the seller about the size and if it will work with the stock cover, here is the answer:
"Hi,
I think it will work with it and the battery has a same size as standard battery."
On looking at the pictures, the batteries may be from Japan, but that is Chinese writing on the battery... or at least it is identical to my Andida "1600" writing.
Yeah...I would'nt put that battery into my HD2...seriously, that looks sketchy as hell. IF it turns out to be 2300mAH, which I highly doubt...it looks REALLY amateur-ish. It's all about memory management people, close crap thats running in RAM and your stock battery will last literally ALL day.

I really hope that you're joking.
Well I'm not, call me stupid, call me whatever you want but I do believe what I said for a main reason: one of my hobbies are rc flying models, both electric and with combustion engines. In this hobby you need powerfull batteries for controllers or engines (NiCD, NiMh, LiPo). I have a range of these batteries of different capacities and some of them have the same size but different power (eg: a 750mAh has the same size as a 2200 one). Of course, the ones that are more powerful are not cheap, but it's money well spent.
I'm not saying that the ugly looking "gold"battery which seems to be wrapped by a 5 years old kid has 2430mAh, but it worths tested. I just want to put this battery on the ohmmetter to read it's values. Regarding the safety for my device, I used chinese batteries on other phones too (spv m3100, kaiser) and none exploded, got bigger or overheat; they do loose their capacity much faster but if you are on low budget a 10 bucks battery saves your as* for a couple of months.

No one is calling you stupid, but you do seem ill-informed.
Cell phones are not the same as hobbyist 3rd party suppliers. Batteries for rc devices are much more third party friendly than cell phones. What we're likely buying from these Chinese manufacturers are probably cast-off batteries that didn't make it through quality control.
Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.
I asked if you were joking because the battery you linked was blatantly sketchy. It isn't even worth checking unless you just like to throw money away.

Where did you get this feedback?
I wish people would just give up trying to find a higher capacity battery which is of the same size. If it was that easy wouldn't you think HTC and ALL major phone manufacturers with their vast resources wouln't want the same thing? A few mm less in dimensions or a higher capacity battery can mean far better sales (millions more).
From experience with tons of mobile phones and 3rd party batteries they have always come out worse 99.99% time. Most of them are cheaply made where they blatantly lie about there actual capacity, don't meet safety standards, can explode, can bulge, overheats etc.
How many more threads about these cheapo batteries quoted with much higher capacity that is pulled out of thin air.
Not to rant but if you want more juice I recommend you get the official HTC extended 2300mah or Mugem battery. I'm afraid you can't have a thin phone and more juice. end of

[Q] Best (extended) battery for hd2.

Yes. There have been a lot of threats, but never a really clear answer.
I have my HD2 like 1,5 year. In this time I never replaced my battery and I think my battery is now dying.
So the big question.
What is the 'best' battery for hd2?
And what is the 'best' extended battery for hd2?
Should I buy mugen, or HTC official batteries (or maybe an other brand)?
And will my battery be compatible with hd2 and custom android roms?
I don't know why there isn't big sticky threat/guide what battery you should buy. Because there are a lot of questions, and not very much concrete answers.
Thanx you.
HTC Official Extended Battery
In my opinion, the best extended battery for the HD2 is the official HTC extended battery. It's the only extended battery that's supported by the developers who make custom ROMs for the HD2. All the other extended batteries will give inaccurate readings with these custom ROMs. I've made a thread about obtaining a rugged case for the HD2 with the extended battery. In this thread, I've listed a couple of links where you can obtain the battery. Have a look.

I don't like the idea of a rugged case that is made for a other cellphone.
I think it's ok to just have a extended battery and not an extra case
Just official extended battery is the best so?
And how about the best (non-extended) battery?

I'd suggest this one. It's the one I have, and it's been great with every Android ROM I've used [Sense, MIUI V3 and V4, Cyanogen]. I get the advertised 2 1/2 days of battery life [ on Gingerbread at least, it drops a little on ICS but it is still good with my usage, which includes lots of browsing, Twitter, music, and tethering].

1500mAh fits the original case: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...585-1500mah-extended-replacement-battery.html
2600mAh with extra backdoor: http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...ed-replacement-battery-with-battery-door.html
hope this will also help for the reference
what I'm using is:
- simply a second original one which I can put into my briefcase and have it with me nearly all the time (pro: the phone still fits into any holder, case, etc., CON: same little power...)
- the "big" one with the extension cover. I use it when walking around with a rucksack where I don't need a holder.
- and then I have an external batteryback (Mobile Power Pack VT-PP-320) which has to be connected through USB. But this has 5000mAh. I use it at home or in the hotel, or anywhere else. OR I take it with me and load the battery of th phone while making a break for example.
My experience with all of these solutions are good - depending on where I use them..

I have always two stock batteries when I'm not at home.
Travelling around for more than 30 hours I have some external battery (LiFePo4 with 9200mAh), which is good for 5 times charging the battery.
But I would like to have just one big battery fullfilling all my needs.
