Switching from sound to vibrate and back - problem - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I have a problem with my HTC Kaiser. If I set it to vibrate only for a while and then switch it back to full sound and vibrate it appears not to work. The display shows that I have sound and vibrate selected but if the phone rings I get vibrate only and no sound. A reset cures it... It is the same regardless of clicking the volume icon or using HTC home to set it.
Anyone else got this?

Hmmm - large chance that this may be user error. Found that the phone volume was 0 - which would explain it!

Volume keeps resetting down to nothing

I tried to set the volume on the title bar of the today menu to something other than the lowest volume (nothing). I close it, then reopen it, the indicator resets it to the lowest volume.
Has anyone seen this before? I've tried searching but found mostly bluetooth volume isssues.
Yep, BT will do it if you have the volume off when your turn BT on. Also, if you have HTC Home make sure that in the profiles tab it's not set to silent or vibrate.
It turns out to be some weird feature. If I tap on the speaker image part, it will make the phone silent. If I tap on the sound part, the 3 lines to the right of the speaker image part, it will turn on sound. I didn't even know I had that feature.
I'm having this exact problem with my Mogul. I tried tapping on the "sound lines" like you said to fix it but that doesn't do anything. I'm stuck.

sometimes no sound when switch profile

hello,
i have the manufacters rom and futher nothing extra on my htc.
when i switch profile's from silence to ringtone the phone does not always give a signal when i'm called.

Volume Control

I have tried to find a thread on this issue, but to no avail.
I use HTC Home with the new ATT 6.1ROM.
With Bluetooth activated I will often use HTC Home to change ringer settings. When I have the phone on Ring & Bluetooth and all volume up everything works fine.
After I switch to Vibrate or Off then back to Ring I find that the Phone Volume is not off. It shows as Ring enabled but the volume is turned off.
Is this due to Bluetooth? Is there any way to stop this from occuring as I dont always have my bluetooth in and the phone wont ring even though i put the Ring option on because the volume is turned off and I keep missing calls.
My work around so far has been that instead of just hitting the HTC Home Ring button, I have to do that and check the volume control. I would like to cut out that last step.
Thanks

Lost Ring

My Touch Diamond has stopped ringing, The setting is for ring and vibrate with a standard ringtone, which works when played from the settings page.
When the handset rings it vibrates but won't play the ringtone.
If the ring settings are changed to just ring without the vibrate, the screen lights up showing the incoming call but won't ring. I've done a soft and a hard reset and restored a previous back up with no joy. Is it broken or is it a software issue.
I haven't been playing with the rom. This just a standard handset.
Suggestions ?

Try a hard reset but don't restore from backup. This backup file will only replicate your current state. Just do a hard reset then test.
try converting all the files you want as ringtones from mp3s to wav files. been good for me winff is a good program to use.
I had the same problem.
Press and hold the volume up button and then quickly press left arrow.
You will go to another volume control screen.
Press and hold the volume up button and the problem is solved

Captivate only vibrates when receiving an SMS!!

It will not make a sound whatsoever! Everything I try, it only vibrates. I do not have a single option for vibration enabled! I've tried changing various settings through the Settings/Sound and Display submenu, and I've even went into the SMS/MMS application and see nothing in there that is set to vibrate. I've tried my phone in Silent, and it's Silent. I've tried it in Vibrate, and it's Silent. Yet, when I up the volume to max, it vibrates. Anything between Vibrate and Max Volume, the phone vibrates. Anybody have any ideas?
Have you checked to see if theres a notification/text ringtone enabled? It's possible to set the ringtone to "Silent," while having all of your volumes turned up.
If that doesn't work also try a factory reset
from the initial messaging screen click the menu button, settings, scroll to the bottom, there is a notifications settings section, make sure you've got a ringtone selected in there & if you dont want the vibrate in addition, uncheck vibrate.
The ringtone is set to tweeters and the vibrate option is not ticked.

The same thing as happening to me I shut it off and on several times and it still doesn't work help plz i have also uninstalled the music player and replaced it with another android music player maybe that's the problem?
