Hi
Anybody knows how to show only contacts and not SIM contacts plus contacts?
Modifying the register we can do that by changing at Register Current_User - ControlPanel - Phone, ShowSim from 1 to 0. However making a soft-reset (and we need to do soft reset a lot of times), something reset again that parameter to 1.
Thanks for help

try http://pocketcm.com it'll only display the contacts since it doesn't support SIM. looks nicer too and FREE.
got tired of the reg hack not sticking after a reset.
Is pocketcm still the only way to isolate the contacts? Thanks

In order to disable showing SIM contacts in pocket Outlook and accordingly in Spb Diary I set the following registry key to 0:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Phone/ShowSIM\Ok another issue, after resetting the phone, the value goes back to 1.
So:
1- Hide sim contacts works only for contacts app not spb diary
2- Resetting the phone redisplays sim contacts.
Im fixing issue 1 with spb forums, but what the heck is up with issue # 2?
After updating the registry, try power off+power on. This forces flushing the registry to flash memory.
I did that, I changed the value and then powered down for a minute or two then powered up again and still shows sim contacts.
My simple program which change registry value after Soft Rest (precisely speaking one minute after SR). Install cab - thats all
Enjoy
Has anyone had this problem MDA Vario III?
I cannot access any of my messaging services, not even read previous messages that are in my email and sms/mms inbox's. My friend sent me a text and although it has gone through at his end it hasn't shown up on my phone.
I have taken the phone back to factory settings, removed pocketcm and at least can now access my contacts (pocketcm would open and then close within a few seconds).
For me this is my worst case scenario as the messaging module is more important to me than the phone.
Anyone got and suggestions how to sort this
Oh Well, No Joy So Hard Reset
Problem solved...
Now have to reinstall all my stuff fortunately I keep all the cabs on the Storage card with the folder name CABS, re-sync and it will be back to new. Would be useful to know if anyone else has had the same problem though
I have an annoying new sms alert that wont go away.
Ive discussed it here before and the problem didnt go away. I did enter the registry and manually zeroed the unread counter but it still shows a new sms everytime i receive a new sms.
So ive decided to hard-reset. So that I have a fresh new device.
Now my question is, can I restore my contacts-sms-mms and appointments using PIM backup from dotfred.net?
Meaning I will back up now, hard reset then restore. Does it defeat the purpose of hard resetting?
Also, I have several SPB apps like diary - mobile shell and so on. They all have backup settings options which I use. After ive hard resetted, can I re-install these apps and then restore to previous settings or will this also defeat the purpose of a hard reset?
Thanks guys!
A hard reset will more than likely not fix this. What you are having is a network issue, not a hardware one. What's the message you keep on getting?
For some reason, I dont think its a network issue.
I receive no message.
This is how it is. Ill soft reset, and upon start up it will say I have a new sms, but no new sms exists (thoroughly searched all inbox folders).
So ill go to the following directory in the registry:
HKEY_Current_User\System\State\Messages\SMS\Unread and then set the count value to 0.
For some reason, I have 2 items under Unread.
Count 1 (0x000001)
Text SMS \ MMS (1)
After I set it to 0, the bottom string still shows SMS \ MMS (1)
In the past, ive deleted the Text SMS \ MMS (1) string and restarted, but it keeps coming back.
Lets assume it is, what do I need to do to clear it?
is their a way to show only the contacts on phone memory? It shows both my contacts on sim and phone memory. Or do i just have to delete my sim contacts? I got the Tilt with the att wm6 rom
use Schapps Advanced Config
search the forums for download
ok, i'm in a good mood, i'll attach cab.
wow, nice program. thx a bunch!
Having same problem, SIM contacts show even after checking DO NOT SHOW with Schapps Advanced Config and then soft reset. If I don't do SR SIM contacts do not show.
Use Kaiser tweak (a must have!!!) - you have there an option that says:
Contacts
\Sim Contacts
"Show or hide the contacts stored on your SIM card from the Contact screen. Note: This option is reset when you reset your device"
Slide Options:
Show (default)
Hide (Advised)
Select "Hide"
That should take care of it...
Try my KaiserSimFix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334702
Continues to work even after soft-reset for OEM roms.

CAB in post 5 worked on my device, Thanks.
In my contacts I have 5 contacts with a icon similar to the sim card icon, with a lock on them.
The contacts have the name '<Unnamed>'
I do not know how these contacts got there in the first place. I do not have the option to delete/edit and the contacts are empty.
How do I get rid of them?
I have the same problem . they appeared after i installed the 6.1 rom. They appear to be the phone provider numbers (vodafone). They all have lcoks on them and i cant remove them either.
I have the same problem with my Orange TyTN II with Windows Mobile 6.1.
This is just one of the many, many reasons I despise Microsoft. They are trying to turn computers into something that they and other large corporations control instead of the paying customer. And as for Orange, well, it seems their management or software development team - or both! - are complete morons.
Can anyone give me a clue how to get rid of these annoying intrusions?
try
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSim 0 = hide, 1 = show

Yes, this are pre-set contacts on your SIM card. They are saved on your SIM by your service provider. The editing of the above registry key lets you at least hide the SIM contacts in your contact list. That does not mean they are no longer there, you just do not have to see them any longer.
I was able to delete them using SBSH's PocketBreeze. I just went to Contacts Tabs and it let me delete them.
Unnamed new contacts
I have a little problem and I don't know how to fix it.
I have contacts only on my mobile phone, on my sim card is empty-see contacts on sim card is disable.
When I got new call, from unknown person, I have info that I can add this contact to my list as a new or add to already exist. I want add as a new, so i'm writing all important info: name, last name,number... and new contact I see as a "unnamed". PLEASE .. help me fix it.
Ps. Phone HTC HD, WM 6.5 with manila 2.5 v 21.1.
