I have just purchase the above PDA (ROM:1.56.721.3 dated 29.08.07) with radio version 1.27.2.11. When I receive a local call from contact, the name of the caller does is not displayed. Only the phone number (7 digits). However, when I receive an SMS, the name of the same caller is displayed. If I remove the country code in the contact number and leave the local number only, then the name of the caller is displayed. In that case, the name is not displayed when I receive and SMS from that contact. Can you please help?

found this on expansys forum : Can you test it and let us know?
I also have found the solution to my problem and it works great. Mine was not due to Contact duplicates, but rather due to a registry setting.
If duplicate contacts are not your problem, all you need to do is get a Registry editor and change the folling entry from an 8 to a 7.
Change the following registry key value to 7 -- HKEYCurrentUser\Control Panel\Phone\CalIidMatch. Restart your pda. That should fix it.
(note: in the regedit, don't click the + next to phone folder, click the the phone folder itself)
This is the link to the the forum thread I found this solution on. https://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsMobile/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2302918&SiteID=65

Hi,
I cannot find the option to turn on the feature, that the name of the caller is displayed, when it is in the phonebook. Right now, only the international number is shown whe somebody calls. What do I have to configure? Thx.

No ideas ??????
WM5 onwards it is already there.
You have to feed the number for each contact as +<country code><areacode><Number>. For example +919896312345
Hi, i've receipt an sms from a contact with more than one telephone number. Is it possible to see the number of the sender? i want to know what number has been used from the same contact to send me th sms.
Thanks
I'm trying to find a way to show business contacts' names when they call me from a range of numbers. Due to all of the spam calls I get, I don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the number/name.
For example, my doctor's office main number is xxx-yyy-0500. When they call me, their number has the same prefix and exchange, but the last numbers can be 0490-0510. I'd like to use wildcards to recognize and show the doctor's name for any and all of those numbers.
Has anyone done this before and can share their profile/task?
Let me try again. I'm trying to find a way to match the first 6 or more digits of an incoming call to an existing contact to account for the multiple numbers they may call me from. Maybe reading the phone number into an array to compare. Something like this for example?
Phone Ringing
If C:ANY or C:ANY(1-6)
Say Incoming call from %CNAME
End If
I have noticed this issue, when I receive a call from one of my contacts, it adds a country code to the number ringing me and their name doesn't come up.
The only way I have found to fix this is to delete the +44 at the start of the number and just put a 0 instead. I would have to do this to all my contacts which would take too long.
Any ideas?
