It would appear that my device is a KAIS130. Does anyone know how this differs from the KAIS100, KAIS110, and KAIS120?
NW
I have no idea how it differs - but I also have a KAIS130...
It would be interesting to see if you have any trouble registering on the HTC e-Club...
See this thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332992&page=5
I believe we all have 130's. When you take your battery back off, there's a sticker ABOVE your battery. What is the country code? Mine's EU.

Mine is also KAIS 130. With date of manufacture 061107(TB02)/EU Yet I have none of the problems stated here Bought it in Rotterdam.
Has any one noticed that the battery also hasModel KAIS 160
These codes may not mean much in the solution of the registration and other problems
The KAIS130 is the standard HTC production version. The AT&T version will probably be the 100, etc. The T-Mobile Vario III might be the 120 version.

NO YOUR WRONG!!
Most Kaisers out now are KAIS130's the Battery is a KAIS160 go look at your battery if you want to know what Kaiser you have put your phone into bootoader mode by pressing and holding in the Camera and power button and then reset while holding those buttons in or pull the battery out an it will say KAIS130 on a small white sticker! I hate when people spread false info!! So please be smart before you post and do some research!
Has anyone else noticed that the battery is now grounded to the phone through the 4 gold tabs under the battery hence why the back of the battery is metal. I find this very strange also look at the hermes battery compaired to the Kaiser on the Kaiser we now only have 4 connectors as opossed to the hermes 6 on the Kaiser the 6th one i was talking about is now the whole battery on the back. Open yours up and look and you will see what I mean
oh sorry, got the number mixed up, yes the battery is 160, thats what i was refering to. no idea bout 130...

No YOU are wrong! The battery has only 4 contacts, do some research before spreading false info!! It's the truth, but I' just messing with ya
I actually started a thread about the battery and ground plate, seems that they are using it as an additional shield or ground plane. The thing to be carefull about is if buying a spare, make sure it's also got the plate.

Odd, I would have expected them to give it a different number because of the different front. Good info though.
perhaps the purpose of the metal back and gold contacts is to dissipate the oodles of heat the batt generates?

I have the non Camera version ATT Tilt NC (8900) and it shows KAIS110 under the battery.
Having just had a new Kaiser delivered with KAIS130 on it, I would suspect that it means it's the next version up... It would make sense anyway
Charge/Headphone/Sync port failed after 8 months Orange have just sent me another.

I am owning a HTC Kaiser 130. The Model was sold by T-Mobile Austria. I don't know, where else this type of PDA was sold.

Welcome to the xda-dev forum Faity and it's nice to see someone who fills in their profile correctly. The wiki now covers all of this stuff (since the original posts are from way back in 2007) so those interested can find out the differences there. The T-Mobile Austria version may be similar to the one they sell (or at least sold - not sure if it's still avail here) in the UK and other parts of Europe (although NOT the USA).
KAIS130 - KAIS160? Confused!
Hi,
I have been using a TyTN II for about a year now. All of a sudden, it has developed a problem. If a call goes on for about 4-5 minutes, the phone powers off. Even with 100% battery charge. Rebooting doesn't work as it comes to the the screen with "smart mobility" and then powers off again. Once I connect it to mains and power on, it boots properly. After such reboots, sometimes it shows the battery empty, other times, it shows it at 95-99%.
Out of curiosity, I checked the phone. I found that the battery says KAIS160 3.7V - 1350mAh. Below that, it also says 4.2V DC. On removing the battery, the body (behind the battery) says KAIS130, 5V DC, 1 A.
Does this mean I have a wrong battery? Is the reason that the phone needs 5V and 1 Amp while the battery is a 3.7V?
My apologies if this question has been answered already or if this is the wrong forum. I felt this thread would be the most apt.

hi today arrived my new vario3 cause my first get damaged at the usb connector. so took out the stuff tomorrow morning. i noticed that my first vario 3 had a Samsung battery and the new one has a Dynapack battery. so i decided to call the t-mob service. they told me the dynapack should be an upgraded one. the first devices where shipped with samsung.
but im confused now:
my first device had SN HT738
the new one has SN HT737
can anybody confirm this Dynapack batterypack?
the labels on the both packs are the same without the manufacturer. the one samsung the other dynapac. but the product numbers are different. the samsung has at the end 086 and the dynapac has 088. on the bottom of the dynapac accu is a aluminium plate. i think its because in the history much people said the battery goes warm or hot. so i think the dynapac is the newer version for our devices...
The metalwork on the bottom of the battery looks like a heatsink to me but it also looks like a ground plate for the battery itself so who knows.
Mine is a dynapack KAIS160 3.7vDC 1350 mAh pn:35H00088-00M
If that is any use to you?
Russ
its no use directly for me but for all other guys out there. which HT version do u have? in the german forum @ ppc-welt we saw that this dynapack is mostly shipped with HT versions lower than 738. the most devices with HT738 which are the highest versions right now have the samsung pack.
When I originally bought my Tilt, it was a HTC 8925 but it RLoD'd so i had to get it replaced (see sig) when the replaced one came, it was a 8900 should i be mad?
8925 has camera in the back and 9800 has none. They're same priced, too.
Why need to be mad? Just call and let they know the issue, they will swap it for you right away.
Well... heres the thing, its def an 8900 becasie about and system info says so, but there IS a camera on it
The system says it's 8900. That's in the About or somewhere like that. Don't worry about it, that's what all Tilt's originally say .

I'm not pretty sure where do you get the "8900" info! All three of my tilt simply say model No. Kaiser in Device Information> Identity; and say nothing in "About"

That I believe if memory serves that the "HTC-8900" is common and the series. If you had an actual ATT Tilt NC aka 8900 it would not have the rear camera and it would say KAIS110 in the top left corner under the battery.
The info is in the battery compartment
Look in the label where the phone's P/N, S/N and IMEAI are printed.
I have an 8900, and the label says KAIS110.
It has no cameras at all.
In the back, just by the speaker, there's an opaque black plastic cover, where the camera would be in the other Kaiser models (or the 8925).
Does anyone know of or have the Tilt with Both cameras? Front and back? It's shown on HTC, but not on AT&T the only US carrier.
Its only called the Tilt by AT&T.
Elsewhere it is known as the HTC Tytn2, the Vario3, etc etc
@cny_man AT&T does NOT support video calling. Hence, no front camera.

Yep they all do .. Now pull that sucker out of the phone so you can see the labels in the phone that are UNDER the battery.
Let me understand

8900: it has one, has nothing

Not sure what you mean by "it has one" .. One of what?
The 8925 has no front camera but it does have a rear camera.
The 8900 has no cameras at all. Not front or rear.
There's another difference. An 8925 has HSUPA while a 8900 does not. My tilt also says 8900 but has the camera.. so who knows.
here is a direct compare of the two: http://www.pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer
You might have real photos of 8900 and 8925 to see how they are made, especially the 8900
Hi everyone,
I replaced my LCD screen and digitizer at the weekend and am now having a few problems. The battery is draining really quickly, in about 30mins. Could this be due to a non oem screen or something? (got mine off ebay)
I am also having a few issues with the power button, there was a small amount of tape in place but im unsure if this should go below the switch or above. To prevent the circuit board switch from shorting or something?
Any help appreciated.
how much did you paid for digitizer?
well I got an LCD with digitizer attached for $43
I'm needing the same, how difficult was it to put back together,
taking it apart isnt a problem but theres that many parts I'm not sure if I could put it back together correctly
Can you tell me how many different variants of the LCD are used in the Diamond? or there is just ONE LCD w/ digitizer..? And from where can I get them for a good price?
Well to be honest, I have only had problems since I changed mine and the phone is now unusable. Its quite easy to put back together, but it seems really easy to create shorts that cause problems and I think the quality of the LCD I bought is far below that of standard and is using lots of power.
Have ordered another screen from somewhere else and will try that but think I will get a leo next week as then im due an upgrade
Would still appreciate some help with my original questions?
I bought on ebay both/LCD+touch screen/. Price is fine 36US dollars. When you buy only on of this you have problem with right connection between LCD and touch screen. Picture have little contrast but not tragically. Battery draining is same. Touch screen is more sensitive than original.

Hi,
screen is original.
what happened was, i enabled win mobile autolock, and then i kinda had a fit. It was turning the screen on and off for about 1 second each time, i thought it would stop so i waited about 40 seconds, then hit the reset button.
when the phone reset it still had an "imprint" of the windows mobile lock screen on the screen, as if it had "burnt" all the white areas onto the screen.
I tryed to screenshot it, but it didnt show in a screenshot so i presumed the screen was wrecked.
I have left my phone without battery overnight and it SEEMS to have sorted itself out, but im not sure!
Thanks in advance

Thought this was fixed but the battery drainage is still huge. The phone is now constantly hot, so have stopped using it. I have dismantled the phone countless times now as I thought there may be a short circuit but with no fix.
When I posted originally the battery was on 85% after 4 hours but then the next time I turned the screen on it was on 1%.
Its annoying as I loved my Diamond but now I just feel angry when I see it on my desk. Using an old moto flip phone at the moment which I hate, untill some shops get the leo back in stock. Tempted by the n900 also, any thoughts?
Hi,
I will change my Diamond's screen. Did you buy it online? If so, would you please send a link of the LCD w/ Digitizer that you bought. Thanks in advance
Greetings
I just bought a TyTN II from ebay.. I thought it would be a nice addition to my ever so small collection of PDA's, and it was relatively cheap.
Here's the link (remove spaces):
ht tp://c gi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260569169356#ht_3409wt_1276
Now, the seller claims it to be 100% oem, but I'm not completely sure.. In case it's a knockoff, I'll use Paypal to get my refund
So my question is, what do you guys think? is this the real deal, or just another fake TyTN II? I've heard about the knockoffs, but I havn't seen anyone.
You call that cheap? That's the real deal though.
yeah well, it's about 1/4 of retail price back in the days it's not too bad for nice little gadget like that
the auction doesn't display any photos of the actual phone, but I'm pretty confident that it's a legit OEM phone by the description, price and the claims made by the seller that it's "100% brand new & genuine or money return", even though it ships from HONG KONG
Anyway, what would a knockoff be like? and what's the price for one of those? What would one look for, in order to spot the knockoffs?
Cheers
Sorry for bumping this thread, but can anyone else confirm this is the real deal, so I can have some peace of mind?
Show us some real picks of it and we will tell you 100%
We know about this phone not the knock off's. If it doesn't look like the one in the pics then it's not what it says it is. It's a 3 year old phone, I wouldn't worry so much about knock off's.
Well, that would be like getting a picture from e.g t-mobile of the specific device you're gonna order. The seller is a powerseller with several (10+ in description) htc tytn II's.. When I ask him he keeps reassuring me that the phone is as described with official specs and pics from HTC and that it's 100 % brand new & genuine.
Would you feel good about this, or would you prepare for a full refund?
Well, I just got my Kaiser Eventhough it's a KAIS100, it has a front camera in addition to the rear-facing one. HTC could confirm it was the real deal, but... i think about the ONLY thing OEM in the package was the phone.... There were 3 chargers in the package (none of which fit !!!!) and i'm not too sure about the battery which said DynaPack on the outer side, and had å chrome-like inner side.
and btw, the battery is behaving weird. the phone takes a very long time to charge. lets say i have 50% battery, and i start charging for 30 min, and i end up with 55% battery.. then i reset my phone, and upon boot i all of a sudden have 82% (for instance)... i don't know if it's just old, or fake..

I have had three batteries so far for my Kaiser. One was the " chrome type " back, that was the original and the other two were cheap replacement batteries that were all black except for the terminals. They all worked the same.
I would just buy a new battery , seeing as the phone is new to you. Might as well start out with a new battery too.. If HTC ran the serial number and says the phone is legit, I wouldn't worry about wether it is real or not.
DENNCCOOOO
What he said.
Well, it seems its actually a modified AT&T Tilt with a added front camera. Void seals were broken, I think both front and backcover is fake, and the voicedialbutton doesn't show a image of a "speech bubble" but PTT (which seems to be used on AT&T phones)

That's pretty strange, they replaced everything but the insides? The Keyboard isn't from a tilt (as far as I could tell).

Yeah, very strange indeed. It seems as they took a tilt, put on a front camera, changed the housing and keyboard (it's not even a wwe keyboard - it has some chinese letters and other layout on the Fn-keys) and hspl'ed the phone with the first OliP0f hspl.... Either way, after confronting the seller, he did admit that it wasn't a unlocked HTC TyTN II, because they got the best prices on these phones from carriers... He also proposed to give me a 70 USD refund, and a HTC bluetooth headset as a compensation, after i expressed my dissapointment with the phone.
Well, i'm still not sure if the battery is OEM, and also if the housing and keyboard is OEM, but i guess i'll never know for sure
Hi,
I'm about to buy me a new Android phone but I have some questions about this one that I have been using - because I thought it would be fun to change and try some things with it and know what I'm doing.
[story]If you're wondering why I'm buying a new one, well the reason is because something went wrong with the motherboard. I'm pretty sure it's the motherboard because my touch screen is not responding and I know it isn't the touch screen, because the screen works fine when I change it with another G1.
So, basically I think that the problem is inside the phone. Recently I found out that I was using a "fake" charger. I never knew. So, every time I used the G1 with the charger the chin heated. This is why I think the touch doesn't work because something got heaten/broken inside were the cables connect @ the motherboard.[/story]
Anyways, my real question is about IMEI.
Does the "mother-board" (the mainboard) holds all the information such as the IMEI (that I have unlocked at the very start)? Or is the IMEI-info being hold somewhere else? Maybe the so-called daughter-board (the one in the chin)?
I read on these forums it's stored on some cable (underneath the camera)?
Thanks in advance.
Please do explain, WTF is a "fake charger"?
You really mean "fake"? Or do you mean DEFECTIVE?

Fake
~1. One that is not authentic or genuine; a sham.
I checked my charger and I noticed it isn't branded, such like Nokia, Samsung, etc... And I tried to charge another G1 with the same HTC and I noticed the chin heats up. With the genuine charger the chin does not heat up. I know I have to watch out for "fake" stuff, but I didn't check if my charger was genuine, because I trusted the seller.
I have a genuine charger for my G1 and it's chin also heats up. It's a flaw of the phone, not the charger. (or maybe a flaw of the genuine charger but idk) I do know that the chin heating up is normal.

It's remarkeable because I have this other G1 and yeah it does heat up, but this one heats up really bad. It's really hot, not just "warm". I really think it's the result of using this "fake" charger (for over 6 months) why my touch isn't responding.
