Thanks....
I really want to have my Tilt as a webcam to sorta stream across the internet or something
no network in the US has 3g video call yet. i believe att is beginning to implement it in some areas but very rare.
the video call is mostly used in europe and china
Partially in the US
AT&T now has Video Sharing (http://www.att.com/gen/press-room?pid=9199), it is a one-way video call, with just a limited number of supported devices.
I occasionally seem to be missing calls while I'm already in a call. I live in a 3g area, and have had this issue occur on multiple occasions (with confirmed 3g reception). I only found out that I had missed the call, when the person calling just happened to leave a voice mail. Other than the voice mail, there was no indication of the call I had missed. There are times that I receive the incoming call (notification) just fine, however. Any clue as to why this function isn't working reliably?
Might just be your SIM. Try replacing it. Make sure you also have full call waiting services to your mobile.
Which ROM and Radio are you using? Someone with knowledge of either or both may be able to provide some help.
....when somebody calls me(with video call) my phone doesn't ring-it only flashes the side lights and the screen lights up-but i can't answer or reject-there's nothing on the screen. When i make a video call-the other side can pick up but it's a regular call(without video) .My "network type" is set to "3G" and HSDPA/HSUPA are enabled.I can't find where is the problem-please help me.
You should say what network you are on. I am on AT&T, for example, and they do not support it. It could be an issue with your provider.
I would be more helpful, but since I can't use video calling I can't give any technical assistance
My service provider is Mtel.I'm sure that they support 3g-because i personally called them to activate the service. So now i'm wondering is there any problem with my phone or is it with the SIM card.
..HELP!..anyone?

AT&T is 3G, but they do NOT do video calling. Contact your provider.
If they do offer video calling it will likely need to be subscribed and paid. The problem is almost undoubtedly not your SIM.
Your dialer on your ROM may not support video calling. If it is not a network thing I would say that is the most likely thing. You could try reverting to standard dialer or trying a new dialer. Also you could try a new ROM that you know supports video calling.
The most likely thing though is that you need to add video calling service to your cell plan.
I've paid and the 3g is activated from my service provider-when i call them for support they say that the problem is not from them-it's all activated.I've updated the firmware to VFE_UK R3AA013 and still no video callig. There 's no 3'rd parity dialer installed.I have "video call" in the menu but still not working. If someone calls me(with a video call)the phone lights just flash and nothing happens-no answer menu, no ringing.
3G is a different service to video calling, you have paid and got 3G but video calling might be extra or not supported.
So here's my problem: I dont wanna hear that you cant do it, but there has GOT to be a way to make phone calls over a 4G network. I dont care if I have to download an APP, a PROGRAM, or if I have to go MAD SCIENTIST on this thing. Any help you can give me will be GREATLY appreciated and if you could post a step by step guide for people having the same issue then that's even better.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Google Voice doesnt seem to work independently. It doesnt notify you when someone is calling and doesnt seem to have the ability to make outgoing calls.
Tried SipGate but only to find out that they have no more numbers in my area (that was a KILLER)
I'm currently able to make calls on Skype BUT ONLY on a Wi-Fi connection (limited).... I need 4G network calling (everywhere)
Anything you can do guys, this has been a thorn for many people and there arent many things out there that show you how to set it up.

download sipdroid, and when you set it up go to the bottom and click, link with google voice. I am making calls over 4g, just cant receive.
I currently have the sipdroid app, however I have no idea how set it up with the right settings to connect it with my google voice. If you could help me out, I would seriously appreciate that.

Blaze what part of Philly?
Ok so currently I've gotten Sipdroid working and making calls over the 4G network. However, when calling over the 4G network the calls are choppy and full of static to the person on the other end. On my end though, the call is perfectly clear.
I've tried altering the Audio/Video options (turning them all on low, turning them on high), messing with the Audio Codecs (turning them all on NEVER except GSM 13kbit), and turned off the improve audio option. However my calls still remain the same.
Has anybody figured out to completely clear up Sipdroid calls over 4G? Is there any other APP i can download to complement the clarity of the call?
Sipdroid works perfect with google voice. I can make call to any part of the world!!! Hell yesssss!!! You can try. Troubleshoot?? Ask us!!!
Yes, but how are the calls over a 4G network? If they're clear, I'd like to know how if possible.
Does Sipdroid work for making as well as receiving calls over 3G/4G?
Yes, Sipdroid works for me over Tmobile's 4G network, but it sounds choppy to ppl on the other end. Through a Wi-Fi connection though it sounds prefect.
Waiting on Skype personally here. And what was that other program people are talking about? Tango?

any part of the world? I tried to call london and I got a message saying I didn't have enough credits. I think for international calls you have to have $ on your google voice account as it uses GV to make the international call. Unless there is another way
hrm I may have to try sipdroid then. =) Does google talk allow for you to have a phone number like skype does?
not sure this has been answered. but
just tested, I CAN receive incoming calls when my Sipdroid is on (green light) and if anyone calls my google voice number.
i mean, getting everything connected isnt the problem. there's plenty of guides online to help you do that with different apps. my problem is the call clarity over T-Mobile's 4G network when using sipdroid + google voice. On my end the calls are clear and perfect, but when I start talking the listener hears choppy words and static. Does anybody have ANY kind of solution to this issue??? Much appreciated.
blaze, I know you've asked this a bunch of times, so I'll venture a potential solution.
Who's your SIP provider? I've used pbxes and had very clear calls on my Droid, even over 3G. Maybe try changing up your SIP provider.
I can send and receive calls over sip Droid and gvoice. Works perfect on wifi have not tried cell network.
@ Z4nd4r
I use the same thing (sipdroid + pbxes) But I've basically given up on the call clarity over 4G and am looking for a supplemental phone now. It could be the strength of your network. Unfortunately with T-Mobile in Philadelphia on 4G, I'm thinking its just gonna be this way. Unless you have a settings tweak.
can someone post there guide to have this working for everyone
I have the guide and everything...its all set up. My issue is CALL CLARITY. Are you using yours on T-Mobile's 4G network. Cause its choppy as hell when I use it for the person on the other end. Clear for me, Static for them
On Wi-Fi it works fine...on 4G, not so much
Does the HTC One support true 3G video call with its dialer app?
Please don't come with suggestions like oovoo, Tango or skype etc.. No SIP, and not through some Internet service. I want true 3G video call where all you need is a 3G line and no 3rd party user account like on Skype and the likes. I prefer making calls (voice and/or video) through the regular 3G phone protocols. I trust my carrier a lot more than I do Microsoft and Google.
The chances are higher that the one you wanna call also has 3G and a 3G phone than that person has Skype or something else.
I had this on my Samsung Galaxy SII. As far as I can see HTC does not support 3G video call in its stock dialer.
