Whenever I'm using my phone and I get another incoming call it goes straight to voicemail. There is no sound notifying me of an incoming call nor is there any record of it in the call log. Is this happening to anyone else? It's happened several times so something is clearly wrong. What's going on here? Any advice?
I think this is dependent on the network provider rather than your phone.
So here's my problem: I dont wanna hear that you cant do it, but there has GOT to be a way to make phone calls over a 4G network. I dont care if I have to download an APP, a PROGRAM, or if I have to go MAD SCIENTIST on this thing. Any help you can give me will be GREATLY appreciated and if you could post a step by step guide for people having the same issue then that's even better.
Here's what I've tried so far:
Google Voice doesnt seem to work independently. It doesnt notify you when someone is calling and doesnt seem to have the ability to make outgoing calls.
Tried SipGate but only to find out that they have no more numbers in my area (that was a KILLER)
I'm currently able to make calls on Skype BUT ONLY on a Wi-Fi connection (limited).... I need 4G network calling (everywhere)
Anything you can do guys, this has been a thorn for many people and there arent many things out there that show you how to set it up.

download sipdroid, and when you set it up go to the bottom and click, link with google voice. I am making calls over 4g, just cant receive.
I currently have the sipdroid app, however I have no idea how set it up with the right settings to connect it with my google voice. If you could help me out, I would seriously appreciate that.

Blaze what part of Philly?
Ok so currently I've gotten Sipdroid working and making calls over the 4G network. However, when calling over the 4G network the calls are choppy and full of static to the person on the other end. On my end though, the call is perfectly clear.
I've tried altering the Audio/Video options (turning them all on low, turning them on high), messing with the Audio Codecs (turning them all on NEVER except GSM 13kbit), and turned off the improve audio option. However my calls still remain the same.
Has anybody figured out to completely clear up Sipdroid calls over 4G? Is there any other APP i can download to complement the clarity of the call?
Sipdroid works perfect with google voice. I can make call to any part of the world!!! Hell yesssss!!! You can try. Troubleshoot?? Ask us!!!
Yes, but how are the calls over a 4G network? If they're clear, I'd like to know how if possible.
Does Sipdroid work for making as well as receiving calls over 3G/4G?
Yes, Sipdroid works for me over Tmobile's 4G network, but it sounds choppy to ppl on the other end. Through a Wi-Fi connection though it sounds prefect.
Waiting on Skype personally here. And what was that other program people are talking about? Tango?

any part of the world? I tried to call london and I got a message saying I didn't have enough credits. I think for international calls you have to have $ on your google voice account as it uses GV to make the international call. Unless there is another way
hrm I may have to try sipdroid then. =) Does google talk allow for you to have a phone number like skype does?
not sure this has been answered. but
just tested, I CAN receive incoming calls when my Sipdroid is on (green light) and if anyone calls my google voice number.
i mean, getting everything connected isnt the problem. there's plenty of guides online to help you do that with different apps. my problem is the call clarity over T-Mobile's 4G network when using sipdroid + google voice. On my end the calls are clear and perfect, but when I start talking the listener hears choppy words and static. Does anybody have ANY kind of solution to this issue??? Much appreciated.
blaze, I know you've asked this a bunch of times, so I'll venture a potential solution.
Who's your SIP provider? I've used pbxes and had very clear calls on my Droid, even over 3G. Maybe try changing up your SIP provider.
I can send and receive calls over sip Droid and gvoice. Works perfect on wifi have not tried cell network.
@ Z4nd4r
I use the same thing (sipdroid + pbxes) But I've basically given up on the call clarity over 4G and am looking for a supplemental phone now. It could be the strength of your network. Unfortunately with T-Mobile in Philadelphia on 4G, I'm thinking its just gonna be this way. Unless you have a settings tweak.
can someone post there guide to have this working for everyone
I have the guide and everything...its all set up. My issue is CALL CLARITY. Are you using yours on T-Mobile's 4G network. Cause its choppy as hell when I use it for the person on the other end. Clear for me, Static for them
On Wi-Fi it works fine...on 4G, not so much
For some reason I can't make calls. I'm using the stock dialer on a stock rooted ROM (see sig).
I dial a number and it looks like it's working (the call timer starts counting and what not) but it never actually calls. Just silence.
I haven't been able to test receiving calls yet but I did at least get some missed calls earlier when I was away from my phone (it was when I tried to return those calls that I discovered this problem).
I'm on Verizon. I have LTE set as my "Preferred Network Type" in Cellular Settings. Data works fine in both LTE and 3G areas. Texts work fine. Just calling seems broken.
Had anyone seen or heard of this? I searched this forum but didn't find anything.
poor connectivity on WIFI network on nexus 6
I also face the problem if not able to make/receive calls when WIFI network is activated.

Are you on the 98r radio? That's the one that ships with the Verizon branded Nexus devices and is different from the radios in the other 5.1 builds.

what if you turn on your speaker?
nevermind, the ops post is from jan 14th, and someone brought up this thread again. people, this post is before the 5.1 update came out. let this thread die.
I'm having issues with calls and texts on T-mobile since this morning. Whenever I place a call the phone sometimes takes 10 seconds to ring, rarely it'll go straight to voicemail, and more often the call won't go through at all, the call will just drop.
If I myself end the call I lose any sort of connection, no 2g no 3g no LTE; I checked settings/about/network and Cellular Network Type gets stuck on UMTS. When this happens I can't call nor can I send messages, the redundant fix that I have to do to fix LTE and get messages working again is to go into: settings/mobile data/network operators and register automatically again, this always gives me LTE and messaging back, and sometimes calls, sometimes.
On the other end, when people call me, I noticed that the phone will go into 4g or H which is the same thing I believe. However, calls don't come through, it either goes straight to voicemail or it'll ring once or twice then go straight to voicemail. Also when it rings on their end, I can't hear it on my end, phone is silent.
This has happened on 4 roms Eragon, NusenSeven, Stock GP Edition and Insert Coin,
The phone is rooted and s-off
HBoot: 161
7.19.401.2
If anyone has the same issue or know a fix, please let me know, it's getting a tad bit annoying.
Hoping It could be the sim card, Thank you, much appreciated
Edit: Apparently T-Mobile was having issues in my area. Surprised it was out for 3 days.
I recently changed to H2O, which is an AT&T reseller for those who are unfamiliar, and I'm having a very peculiar problem.
When I go to make a call, as soon as I tap the green button to make the call, sometimes my signal drops to 0 bars and I can't make the call. Sometimes this happens repeatedly and it's impossible to call anyone. But sometimes the call will go through after the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th try. However, sometimes it drops to emergency calls only after the call fails, or sometimes it drops to no service.
Additionally, when I go to change the conditional call forwarding under dialer - settings - calls - call forwarding, as soon as I tap call forwarding, the signal bars vanish and I get a call settings error. This happens almost all of the time. And again, sometimes it will drop to emergency calls only, or a several times I've had it drop to no service.
When I give up trying to make a call or change call forwarding settings, the signal strength will return after a minute or so, which is currently fluxuating around -112 dBm 28 asu, -116 dBm 24 asu, 110 dBm 30 asu. Not sure what any of that means though.
Frequently, incoming calls do not reach my phone. Often I'll get a text message asking me why I'm not answering my phone, but it never rang. There's no indication that my phone was out of service as there is always at least one bar.
I can send text messages with no problem at all. My data also works just fine. In fact, one of my friends gave up calling my phone number and instead calls me on WhatsApp because that's the only way he can get a hold of me. He would call my number, have it fail, and then immediately call me on WhatsApp and that goes through because my data doesn't usually have any issues.
I've tried changing APN settings according to different information I got from H2O. I've tried changing the preferred network type to 3G and 2G. Changing to 2G seems to help my ability to make calls, or maybe it just seemed that way. I've contacted H2O numerous times about it. They opened multiple tickets on it and finally said that there's no problem on their end getting service on that sim card. I sorta verified this because the sim card doesn't display this problem in my 1st gen Moto X, an XT1053.
Two other people in my house are on the AT&T network, one on Cricket with a Galaxy S6 (G920AZ), and one on H2O with a Galaxy S3 (T999) and they never have any issues here at home or elsewhere.
My phone is an XT1095 pure edition. I run stock 6.0, 24.11.18.victara_tmo.tmo.en.US, kernel 3.4.42-g389e46b, rooted, TWRP, with no apps that modify call behavior except Google Voice which is set to never use GV to make calls. This phone worked flawlessly on several different T-Mobile resellers. I'm about to switch back to another T-Mobile reseller but I thought I'd post here about this strange issue first because I don't want to always be limited to the T-Mobile network.
Any advice or input is greatly appreciated.
