Hello,
when i click on start menu->settings->buttons
the button assignment dialog is not shown. Nothing happens.
Any help is appreciated!
Chris
First, I'd power off and push the reset button for a soft reset. If that didn't clear things, I'd probably do backup and then a hard reset and see if it works with a stock clean unit. Then I'd load back my apps and see if a particular app is killing it.
Hi, it's a bug related to wisbar advance 3.

Hi,
One of the things i really find annoying about my phone setup is the fact that I keep on knocking the camera button and activating the camera by mistake. I don't use the camera that often (no guesses why) so I would prefer to assign the button to ALT-TAB or something that I would find a little more useful.
I have made the change in settings but it seems that my new button assignment only works until I perofrm a soft reset. Then the button reverts back to starting camera.
Is there any way of doing this so even after a soft reset my button assignments don't change?
Thanks in advance,
Charles
Go to Device\windows\Startup and delete cameradetect. Everytime you reset now the things you assign will keep.
Thanks Pug. You're the man!
I wondered the same thing, thanks Pug
Thanks Pug - same here
how to disable from rom?
Hi all
I sort of have the same problem with the camera. don't use it either. I would like to disable it from within the rom but i can't seem to find it.
The problem is that if you get a hard reset the detect camera is there again in the startup
anyone any suggestions? is it baked in the os rom?
thnx in advanced
It is Possible to remove the file using a script during a hard reset. All this does is delete the cameradetect shortcut, you still need to re-assign the button. This can only be done by cooking the ROM though. I will post the script as soon as I can.

Thnx PUG !!!!
Hey PUG
thnx for the info. Can't wait for the script (no hurry of course). I didn't know you could do scripting with a pda but of course it is a form of windows  .
Well thnx again and a Merry X-Mas to ya

Hi guys, I am having some little problems with my Xda2i as following.
1. I use button lock to stop using the camera button (as I always accidentally touch it then camera starts, many time I open camera without notice for long time till my battery almost gone!!) Every time I soft reset, it always turn to defalut mode.
2. Also the same happen with "today". I show some items such as Worldmate. When soft reset, it disappears (though I ticked to show it always)
3. Favorites network also the same, ticked it then changed after reset.
Could anybody please help me?.
Many many thanks in advance..
do what i have done removed the camera from my start up prgrams and allocated the button to none that way it can't activate
as for the others i'm not to sure ,i'm sure some1 else will be able to help
Sounds like somehow the registry has become read only. Have a look in the startup folder and see if there any programs in there that shouldn't be running. Also has this started after some program has been installed?
Hi Pug, checked my startup and found below program lists
-camera_detect
-checkautorun
-clear_notify
-IA_CID_start
-PHM Traylaunch
-PhotocontactPro
-Pocketnavy
-poutlook
-RunBT
-spb GPRS monitor
-STK
It seems like you doubt, it happens after program installation.
Any more advice?
Many many thanks
I don't doubt you at all, just trying to help you solve this.
PHM hasn't got a registry restore feature has it? If it has try disabling it. I don't use it so I don't know.
Don't know what that Pocket Navy is so can't comment on that.
If you delete Camera_Detect you can assign the camera button to something else if you want and the button assignment will survive a soft reset.
Sorry for my aweful english, Pug.
This problem wa before PHM installed, it should be ok (anyway I am not knowledgable to know if it has registry or not. I am too new hands)
Pocketnavy is "CloseAll" I like it more because it has window to see running programs and can select to close which one. THe most important is it free.
I will try to fix it as you recommend. Very appreciated your time to help.
Thanks again
well hi, im new here, i got an xda diamond touch, and my problem is that touchflow 3d doesnt start, i get always the windows mobile GUI, how can i start touchflo 3d ?
Sorry to ask the obvious, but you have enabled TF3D, haven´t you?
Start>Settings>Today>Plug-Ins>check TF3D is ticked (rough translation from German ROM).....
thanks for the quick respond, well when i enter today settings there is no touchflow 3d in the plugins only the windows stuff
Now that´s strange.....what ROM are you using? Standard HTC or some provider branded ROM? Thsoe ROMs usually contain the TF3D files - they are installed when you first boot up the device. It´s possible to supress that installation by doing a soft reset quickly after the initial display calibration screen....maybe that´s what happened?
If you haven´t done too much tweaking/installing you might try the old hard reset (you´ll loose all your settings/programs etc., that you have already installed). If you don´t want to do that, maybe someone else has got a better idea how to revive your TF3D.....
ok i have done a softreset yet, but didnt helped, now will try with a hardreset hmmm

Have you had a look at the manual yet???
Soft reset: either press the red button in the stylus hole with the stylus, or long press the power key to shut down the device and then restart it - same effect.
Hard reset (reset back to how it was when you received the device): Push and hold "Volume Down" Key + "Enter" Key, push the reset button in the stylus hole while keeping the above buttons pressed, release the reset button and answer the onscreen questions.
When the device boots up after the hard reset you should be taken to the display calibration screen. After that the device will show you a quick countdown before installing additional apps (TF3D, phone skin, Opera, etc., depending on the ROM you are using). When installation is finished (do NOT interrupt it!), the Diamond will automatically soft reset. After that you really should have your TF3D installed and working.....
ok thanks but what should i do, restore manufacturer default or restore manufacturer default and format movinand?

The "format" option also formats your internal storage (your device´s hard disk, so to speak), so it´s really up to you......by formatting the internal storage you will of course loose all your files on that media (movies, pictures, whatever you´ve already put there) and have to copy it over again.....
wow seems its working, thank u so much michi really THANK U
You are welcome! Glad, I could help!
lost a Touchflo theme

Click Start/Settings then select the Personal Tab and click Today. Click the Items Tab at the bottom then click on the box to check Touchflo3D then click OK. You may have to scroll down a bit in the items list to find touchflo3d but it should be there.
HTC Tytn II. If I tap the start button - after the third time the start menu appears but the menu is blank - need to turn phone off and on to start using again. Does anyone know how this can be fixed. Thanks
ANy chance you have the SPLCF Cube installed?
yes - I did but I don't think I uninstalled it properly
its not on my install programs list ( I had loaded it in once and tried to remove it)
You probably didn't...that is definitely causing your problem. This was found out awhile back.
Im not sure how to properly uninstall it as it probably is running somewhere you don't know about. If you can hard reset that will fix the problem .
Many thanks for identifying the problem - I will try the reset and hopefully this will get it back to normal. And thanks again for such a quick reply - hope it's nice and sunny where you are. I am in the UK and weather isn't brilliant. Thanks a million. Maddy
Hello,
I have installed ODSHO Weather on my Touch Diamond(Sprint) and wanted to remove it. The application says that it was removed but everytime I press the power button once the device has gone on standby I get a notification that kpweather.exe cannot be found. I have searched the registry and no luck. Please help!
Thanks!
Soft reset and try again, or simply hard reset and start over
Try going to \Windows\Startup\ and see if kpweather is there, if so just delete it
