Bricked my XDA Terra O2 (German) WM6 - Trashcan? - Wing, P4350 Herald Upgrading

Hey, I tried to go from TouchFlo 1.1 to the new 2.0 and bricked my phone, it just got stuck in the process even though I followed all steps.
Now, I bought my device in Germany at an O2 Shop, so its German language with the O2 Bubbles and WM6.
There is no original RUU Rom on the O2 Website so I am still stuck on the brubble screen.
I heard there is no way of unbricking the phone unless o2 releases a RUU for the phone, is that generally true? Should I just get it reprogrammed and pay cash for that
I have seen a post with a http://rapidshare.com/files/32745275/os62.nb file that is apparently extracted from the o2 Wm6 Rom, would that do any good.
Any options??
Kind regards

Pretty much. Just send it back. Is it under warranty?
EIther way, you're completely and totally SOL

Yeah I still got it covered, are they not going to release A RUU for the terra?
I mean, this is Bull****

Guys, I called the o2 support and they say that there is no rom currently for the XDA terra and there is also no annoucement of any coming so it sucks really. I am stuck with a brick in the states where I cannot send it in for repair.
There must be a way to flash it and override the Vendor ID problem isn't there. I can get into the bootloader it's just that I have to somehow flash a new one on there.
Anyone any suggestions?
I am deeply saddened and need help, I need my phone back please understand. I'll try anything!

How you like your Fried XDA 2? Sunny Side Up?

Hello,
I was today handed a fried XDA 2.
My boss had attemted to flash it and it failed for whatever reason.
Now i will say from the outset that i have only ever flashed my XDA1 with a XDA-Developers ROM and it was a breeze.
The ROM file HE flashed with was called.
Xda_II_Upgrade_v16050.exe
Now when you switch the thing on.. all you get is a a small amount of txt saying
'Serial'
'v1.06'
and nothing else..
What have i done? Well i have sifted through the articles on here.. and found this rom
XDA-developers-SER-v12.exe
I have installed this on an SD card using xdatools.. WHOLESALE.. i.e. no moding of the files...
I have looked at 'http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/HimalayaRomFlashing'
but as i can boot into the device.. i cant get the info it requires.
I am open to any and all help. And I'll even buy you a pint!
I am really at a lose.
Thanks in advance Guys and Girls.
It may not be as bad as you think.
It is in bootloader mode - currently in Serial mode and if you put it in a cradle connected to a PC (with ActiveSync installed) the bootloader should change to USB v 1.06. From this point you should be able to load a normal ROM from the manufacturer.
I have an i-mate, so am not sure what the current ROM version for the XDA II is, but I'm sure others will chime in with this information.
I upgraded to this version, not knowing I already had this loaded. You need to check the extROM version before upgrading as this appears to be way the official upgrades seem to change.
I had no problems and it was done through the Active Sync process
The file can be found here if you haven't already got it... http://www.my-xda.com/downloads.html
Try it again. It does take about 90 mins.
Regards
Nope... Nadda... Zip... Zilch.
Roit...
When i dock the pesky thing in the USB craddle.. it does display USB and v.1.06.
Activesync shows NO sign of knowing the XDA is there.
The ROM found at http://www.my-xda.com/downloads.html as suggested by flintanis fails with a ERROR 100: MODEL ID ERROR.
BRosenow what do you mean by 'load a normal ROM form the manufacturer' is that not what i have just tried?
Once again a pint for all contributors.. and my first born to the dude with the solution.
Cheers.
ActriveSync won't activate because it's in Boot loader mode but you can download the latest ROM Update from the manufacturer or cellphone service provider and load that to flash the ROM and complete the process.
If it's a UK XDAII, get the update at www.my-xda.com .
It appears the previous user tried to flash it with a ROM from another manufacturer (Q-Tek/MDA II/i-mate). You are now receiving a Model/Country ID error. I have not experienced this myself, but I have read posts in this forum on how to fix it. Do a search and I bet you will find it.
- OR - any user who has experienced this and successfully flashed his ROM could chime in here and give jonathh some advice . . .
After much ado about nothing..
i have returned to again fix this XDA2 (the joys of pesky FT employment; make your minds up guys.. you want this XDA2 fixed or not?)
Right i *think* with quite a high level of certainty that the XDA2 currently in my grubby mitts was purchased in Malaysia/Sinapore.
Now.. am i correct in that flashing it Xda_II_Upgrade_v16050.exe from http://www.my-xda.com/downloads.html
Would cuase the problem i have now.. or at the very least wont go on on the XDA2 now because it is a UK ROM and a Malaysia XDA2?
I have flicked thru the pages on here.. and i cant seen to see how to solve this!!
PPllleeasseee help
*sobs, and gently rocks back and fourth*
I think there is a bit of confusion going on in this post!
The first ROM you tried (XDA-developers-SER-v12.exe) is for XDA1 - NOT XDA2.
The best place to get the latest UK XDA2 ROM is http://www.sourceo2.com/O2_Developers/Devices/O2_Xda_II/XdaIIRom.htm
and i *believe* that the place to download the Malaysia ROM is
http://www.myxda.com/XdaII/serviceandsupport/template/XdaIISoftwareUpgrade.vm (note the absence of the '-' between my and xda...this is the Asian O2 website)
See if the ROM from either of those sites will install
Hope that helps!
How about scrambled?
Ok, thanks 'pope'
*none* of the roms suggest work..
Xda_II_Upgrade_v16050.exe reports unknown country code..
and the recently suggested
Xda_II_LaunchROM_v10311.exe just sticks on the 'checking for information' left it for over an hour! BUT doesn't report unknown country code like the other one.
I cant get the XDA2 rom from the Asia site, as after i registerd my XDA2 it reports i dont need the damn update... anyone got it already?
I have extracted the core files from both these exe's and tried to copy them to an SD card(the NBF fille) using XDAtools.. and xdatools report the files are invalid.
I am lost and clueless!
HHHEEELLLPPPPP
Well that didn't work...
I got my grimmy grits on another XDA2 and using XDAtools sucked the ROM off of that.. and then.. again using XDAtools squirtted it out onto an SD card..
But i am unsure what i have to do then? is this latest approach possible??
Comments welcome![/code]
Love to help… but
My UK O2 XDA II has exactly the same problem. I died whilst flashing the UK O2 1.60 ROM, and now I can't do anything with it. Identical symptoms. Identical complete lack of success (eight hours and counting).
How can I find out the country ID of my device when my XDAII is dead?

O2 will fix this for you if it happened as a result of flashing with their rom.
By they way, in case anyone was concerned when I said " I died whilst flashing the UK ROM", I did of course mean "it died..." ;-)
But I have solved my own problem! How come you can spend hours trying to find a solution, and as soon as you ask for help, you sort it out straight away??!!
I hope this works for you if you're still struggling.
1) Download the latest i_Mate ROM from http://www.clubimate.com/Support/RUU172126WWE_imate.exe
2) Download the XDAII Rom Editor from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/uploads/ER2003Edit_1_2_20.msi
3) Extract the files from the IMate ROM, and use the ROM Editor to change the Operator to 02. Get the instructions here and the password here
4) Flash the ROM as normal. It worked for me You could experiment with using the O2 extended ROM files rather than the T-Mobile ones, but I was just glad to get the thing working. Perhaps I'll feel braver later.
I did feel braver, and copied the O2 Cabs into the IMate Extended ROM file. Then I deleted the IMate cabs I didn't want, modified config.txt and prayed! Everything seems to have gone fine, and I'm now re-installing all the software. Already there seems to be a significant speed increase over 1.60.
I'd recommend taking this step before you flash the ROM, rather than doing it twice like I did.
mark8barnes is the man!
I didn't do the mods.. just as per your original post.. and it worked!! Yay
Thanks mate you da man!
Now i do have a query tho.. if i did suck the rom off using XDATools.. how would i get it bck on again?
Cheers all you guys..

Hello Mark
Me too, I flashed my ROM with the UK version with the same result.
The link to the iMate ROM no longer exists, can you help me please. I'm a real novice at this.
Thank you

Bricked mine also :(

Hi all,
Hate to say this but I accidently also bricked my phone (I had PDAVIET working and then saw an update so forgot to put it back to WM5 first and then to WM6 again, now stuck in boot screen )
The reason I post this thread is I got a small question which will be one of my last resorts to fix it.
As I can only access the bootloader I hope this will work, so here is my question. If I pay 28 euro to IMEI-CHECK.UK to get an CID unlock, am I able to install any ROM (e.g. WWE English or WWE German etc..) and also will it unlock while I only can access the bootloader or does it require a functional OS ?
Many thanks...going to continue and slap myself in the face a couple of times..
HTC PLEASE RELEASE THE FREAKIN WM6 Dutch....argh

you dont have to go back to WM5 each time u want to update ur ROM. Mainly you should have installed hard SPL before any install.
you can search wiki for unbricking, i am sure i saw one.
Well I found a lot of stuff for the Hermes, which reminds that I should have bought a Hermes when I had the chance and i'm now stuck with this piece of sh*t.
I even tried other roms for other devices , my only chance would be CID unlock and install a WWE or wait for a million years for HTC to come out with WM6.
Thanks for the reply though.
Cheers

Sure, you don't have to, but I strongly recommend this. I bricked my Herald a couple of times while flashing from PDAViets WM6. My luck, I have a RUU to unbrick.
This one is for the newbees:
If you don't have a working WM5 RUU to unbrick your Herald, you should _NOT_ mess with this stuff.
Would it be by any chance a dutch one? The RUU Rom.

NO, definately NOT. I searched my ass off for the Dutch HTC ROM.. But there simply is none. The only chance for unbricking is contacts inside telecom Repair Centre or sending your device to HTC. Or of course the (way too long taking) WM6 update from HTC..
If the WM6 update from HTC arrives how will we be able to use it. My phone allways complains about the 'vender id' when I use a WWE ROM. Why would it accept a HTC ROM?
Is there still hope?
hello i have a question about the WM5 RUU. can ik make it whit my one p4350 dutch???
if it can, how can i do that??

Well obviously the WWE RUU isn't for your phone. If you have a dutch phone you need a Dutch RUU, if you have a German phone then you need a German RUU and so on.
When HTC releases the WM6 RUU they should release one for each language.
Sended HTC an email 4 days ago, men what a **** company that is...I still haven't got a response. Is it me or is this a really bad company in supplying support....never had these problems when I had other devices (Mio A701).
Anyone got any news from them ?
Yesterday they said that the update will be in August.
I hope...

Remember that it is vacation time for HTC Europe.. Everything takes almost twice the time then normal..
Email from HTC....i'm f*cked
Dear Customer,
You only can install the ROM with the original language of the device.
When you are registered at www.europe.htc.com in eClub, the site doesn't allow you to install a different ROM.
It doesn't matter if you are on the english site, your IMEI and SN number are recognised and will install a Dutch ROM if there is one available.
HTC doesn't have any ROM update for this device available yet.
If you require to re-flash your device than you need to send it in for repair.
Go to www.eurotwice.be
=> select language
=> Private user
=> Place your order
=> Select brand (HTC will be added)
=> Select Model
Type in customer information and IMEI.
Search which drop point to use and print out service paper.
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html
Best regards,

Dude why? Just wait for the official release!
Vendor Id
Last day of my vacantion. What's in the upload? The new WM6 updates!
Let's try the Dutch one. Still got the Invalid Vendor Id message...
Do I have to wait for the Vodafone update?
How can I remove this Vendor Lock when I can't boot my device into WM5 or WM6?

Need to go back to original T-mobile WM5 ROM, is that possible?!

I've searched the forum and the wiki, and there's is still a very good chance that the answer to my question is out there, but couldn't find it, so here it is:
I flashed my phone with one of the WM6 ROMS found in this forum and it all works great. Unfortunately, I have some hardware problem, so I want to bring the phone in for repair at the T-mobile shop... They don't really need to turn on the phone to fix the hardware I guess, but nevertheless I'd rather have the original T-mobile Dutch ROM restored before I send it in. Is that at all possible? I've seen a lot of posts referring to websites where you can get a complete original ROM and just have to flash it, but T-mobile only provides updates as far as I can see. Can anyone help me?

Reverting back to HTC ROM and SPL for warranty return?

At the point I am I need the help of experienced Users from the community.
I flashed a original HTC Wings (S730) with WM 6.1 ROM. It runs perfectly until I got a hardware problem (radio) . This is the reason I have to send it back to the official service.
Therefore I tried to go back to an official ROM from the http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=WINGS_WM61_Alcaline
At first I flashed the earlier backuped Bootloder via sspl-0.91-wings.exe. This seems to be okay. But as I tried to flash an official ROM from the site mentioned above, during the flashing process I've got the note 'ERROR 294 Invalid vendor ID'. What was wrong? Did I forget any step?
Please, is there anyone who can describe the correct way back to 'warranty' for a newbie?
Thanx a lot.
have you tried all the ROM's? there is one prerelease and two release ROM's.. try both of the release roms, they might be for different production models/locations.
I tried both official released ROM's (signed as 'Ship'), not the prerelease version.
and if you first flash the shiped rom (with hardspl) and when done flash the back-up of the spl
With reference to an earlier statement of bigflavour in the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=383617&page=17
I flashed back the original SPL at first.
Too bad It seems to be that I have a new problem now. Few minutes ago I have tried to reinstall hardSPL on the device via the well known sspl-0.91-wings.exe running on the Wings. But as I started the sspl, the device shows on the display that 'Access denied....is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate'.
Thereupon I thought I had to 'application_unlock' the device. After running the SDA_App...Unlock on my PC the display message shows succesful unlocking process. B U T, the sspl doesn't run as before.
Now, I'm totally confused. What has happened??
It's flavor, and unfortunately, I have no idea how to help you.
Probably tried the European english's spelling hehe.
Also This does seem like an odd problem, have you tried for kicks doing the factory reset to see if it will reset some of the registry and maybe fix your issues? I dont know anything about the spl's since I have no need to upgrade to 6.1, I wouldnt imagine it causing any more damage but again I dont know what all was done. I havnt followed those threads for a long time.
Thanx a lot. Apparently, the hint to make a hard reset hits the mark. Now I flashed back the HardSPL. So I'm back at the starting line . Does anyone knows if the official ROM from the http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index..._WM61_Alcaline is the latest one and can I use it for the warranty return?
Or should I look for an original German HTC ROM?
I was a little bit to fast. I will need a German ROM definitely, because the ROM from the Wiki doesn't include a the german language option.
Is there anyone who can help me with a original HTC S730 ROM for the german market?
Thank you in advance.
Hallo HSN,
if you give me a introduction how I backup my ROM, you can have my one. I own a German HTC S730. But I am confused when I read all threads about flashing etc....
One page introduction how to back up and you can have my one.
But I think that the Repair center here in Germany, doesn't care about the Rom you have installed.

Bricked my phone and need info

Hi all i`m always changing my roms and radio`s like you do lol i had duttys rom installed and hard spl olinex 1.93 also. my problem is and like a true div i used the wrong program on the diamond cos i have the tytn aswell so put that program on my diamond and now it is bricked lol the program was hard spl for the tytn or something can`t remember exactly what. can`t get into bootloader or reset as nothing at all and wont start up or vibrate etc can`t get active sync to find phone so i would say 100% bricked lol i am sending the diamond tomorrow for repairs to htc.
what i want to know is as it has a cooked rom and olinex installed and i bought it new from someone who was selling their upgrade will they be-able to tell whats on the phone if it is bricked and then refuse to fix it or cos it is bricked they`ll never be-able to see what rom etc is installed on it??? it was originally on the orange network uk so would that affect the repair??

If you flashed the Tytn SPL to a Diamond, you can forget it, it is a shiny paperweight...
Unless the JTAG points for the device are found it is most definitely a brick.
lol thought as much lol thats what happens when you have more than one phone lol would they know it has a cooked rom installed when they investigate why it bricked? cheers

If they unbrick it, then yes, they will know it has a custom ROM flashed to it. However, they will still fix it and just bill you.
damn lol is there a way of blagging it so if i say i bought the phone with the cooked rom installed already and thought that was the original rom from new?? just play dumb lol is it expensive if they unbrick it?? cheers
just to add that dutty`s rom was great and had nothing to do with me bricking my phone. just incase people interpret me the wrong way and think its a rom problem
morning all my phone is being picked up today and was just wondering if they do fix or reflash my phone will it be back to being locked to the orange uk network again even though i unlocked it??? cheers

HTC will flash the most recent ROM available for your device. If your phone is Orange branded, then that is the ROM they will flash to it.
thanks for that mate but i need to know if it will be locked back to orange uk meaning can i use any sim card or will it be on orange uk only cheers
anyone else with any suggestions please cos i`m getting a bit worried that htc will refuse to repair and if they do how much the cost will be. has anyone from the uk had the same problem and bricked there phone? and how much does it cost for them to repair?? thank you
just an update about my repair got my diamond back today and they replaced the main board cos i bricked the diamond so i have a new imei number and life time call counter is back to zero i never got charged for this repair and now i can even hard reset the phone where before it wouldn`t work so have faith if you have bricked your diamond
