Show/Hide SIM contacts - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

HI all!
How can I hide the sim contacts? Which is the registry key to modify?
I've tried TweakUI (modified for Trinity) and all tweak works, except "Show/Hide SIM contacts".
Greetings

Using htc sim manager, you can:
A) Move all sim contacts into an outlook contact(put pictures, etc) vice versa
B) Delete all sim contacts/outlook contacts
No reason you need to have both

I've all my contacts on device, but I want to leave saved the contacts also on my SIM card. The method to hide them, there is.

Registry: HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone
Key: ShowSim (dWord)
Set it to 0
But it'll go back to 1 if you Reset the device.
I installed PocketCM, since it doesn't show SIM i don't have to hide it anymore. Looks nicer too.

There was a file posted on this board to fix that issue. I forgot who posted it but here it is.

Thank you a lot! It works

Just moved over from Symbian UIQ 3 (m600i). I have no idea what CABS are and how to install the file you attached.
I also want to rid myself of seeing duplicated names as I want to see phone contacts but also retain SIM contacts. I go diving and change mobiles and still need the names & numbers.

copy the CAB to your phone and browse to it via the File Browser.. then execute.

not work!
please

This DOES work:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Phone]
"ShowSIM"=dword:00000001 ->0 to disable, 1 to enable.

I made and posted it only to modaco.com, but it's nice to know it made it here too; considering it's the only one I know of that works after soft-reset.

@f1ip: I don't have Pocket CM, but KaiserTweak is an easy way to hide SIM contacts (and it's only 377 kB + 47 kB for the .xml file, so it's not a memory hog)
@Corrupted Sanity: I too switch phones sometimes - don't want to take the expensive PDA to some environments.
@Everybody: I find that even though I have "Hide SIM Contacts" enabled, Voice Command still looks at them when I ask to dial a contact, and says "Showing 2 Found" and then asks which one you want to dial - a - anyone else have this experience?
Would like to have Voice Command ignore SIM contacts - the "Showing 2 Found" thing is so annoying that I ended up deleting all my SIM contacts, then I have to copy them back to the SIM if I want to transfer the SIM to another phone.

Did you even bother to read the release notes comment on Modaco? Or any followup comments? KaiserSimFix is the ONLY fix that still works after restart.

I don't know how i managed to fail in installation, but it seems not to work.

Another bit of helpplease someone. SIM contacts / Outlook contacts view.

Very simple question this one folks.
Again, if it's been asked before then i apologise but i couldn't find a thing in the manual or on here about it
This is another one that is winding me up something rotten (see also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1783707&posted=1#post1783707)
Example... on a Nokia, you can choose the view you wish to have in your contacts list by going into options etc etc and selecting either... SIM ONLY, SIM AND PHONE MEMORY or just PHONE MEMORY.
Obviously the PHONE MEMORY on a WM5 or 6 would be OUTLOOK so... how do you display OUTLOOK ONLY, no SIM involved???
Am i making sense here?! lol

Hiding Sim Contacts?

So, I know how to edit registry and hide the sim contacts so that I dont have double of every contact. However when I turn the phone off then on they come back. Or when I reconnect it via USB.
how do I permanently hide the sim card contacts?

Use my KaiserSimFix.cab.
I should probably update it to be more user friendly since I wrote it waay back when I didn't understand windows mobile that well.

it's in there however, it even states in the description that the sim contacts will show once device is restarted =/
i believe....
all you need to do is put a program in the startup folder that re-applys the registery tweak every time...
is that what your 'fix cab' does there?
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"ShowSim"=dword:00000000

winthropdc: Hello! doesn't survive soft-reset.

How to change the main menu soft button?

Hi,
I have a Treo 750v (Vodafone version) which like what it's box said it is meant for email solution, that's why the left soft menu of the Today screen menu is set to Email.
Anyone know how to change this?
Thanks, appriciate your share of knowledge!
I forgot the details but this i know as much
You have to download the register editor program. Search around the registry is all the same when it comes to changing soft key for all WM phones.
The only problem with the Treo 750 is when you change the softkey from email to something else it ends up adding an extra short cut. So in essence you are not overwriting that key, all you are doing is adding an extra feature on top of the existing email button.
Maybe someone had better success than I did can chime in
Using a registry editor, navigate to Hkey_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/Today/Keys/112
Change all 3 values to reflect your new function

It's all because Palm plugins - they overlay it. If you disable Active Call (or Dial Lookup?) you can have native-windows softkeys. It was all described in instructions how to ged back default dialpad.
i just downloaded the soft key changer that i found on here i think it was in the hermes section and copied it to my windows folder... after i did that it shows up in my settings and i can change both soft keys to what i want
was it:

slide2unlock and Call Display

I'm using the latest version of Slide2Unlock found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381588
Tried asking my question there, but no responses so far so I thought I'd ask in the Kaiser specific forum.
Everything seems to be working fine except when I get a call from someone in my contacts, it displays only the Number instead of their name. Anyone know how to fix this to get their name to be displayed instead?
Thanks.
I had that same problem before and it was because my contact list was from my SIM card and not the phone's memory. I had to move all my SIM contacts to the phone memory and it was fixed. Hope that fixes your problem..
i am quite sure if you open the slide to unlock settings there is an option for how you want the contact to be displayed.

There is something to display how the number is displayed ie. (###) ###-#### or ###-###-###
I haven't come across anything that says whether or not to display the name of the contact. If you could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

That could be the problem. All of my contacts are on my SIM card as I just got the phone about a week ago and haven't transferred them over yet. I'll see if that makes a difference. Thanks.

I don't think so...try to softreset (or power down) ...the SIM contact will be visible again.
I think that there is a startup program that recovers some registry keys.
Something similar happens also with deveicelock. If you use the device lock, the backlight timing is always set to 10seconds. If you change it, it works with the new timing until the next devicelock. (then it will be resetted to 10 seconds)

I've try several times with Sktools but after the softreset the sim contacts is visible...maybe something in my italian rom (1.35)? i really don't know.
yeah maybe. You could try to upgrade to 1.37.707.1
NikiSimFix
Had the same problem...
NikiSimFix.cab (program runs on startup) fixed this for me (probably imports a reg key on startup).
Cheers.
NikiSimFix
Tnx a Lot it works!!!
Excellent! It needs just a soft reset after installing
There is also a simpler way, which does not however survive a reset either (but it can be set through the standard menus instead of the registry, and it has the advantage of being easily toggled).
If - like me - you are synching your contacts from Outlook and do not want to see the SIM contacts, the easiest is to assign a category in Outlook to all your contacts, and then simply filter the All People view by that category. All your contacts are still there, and the SIM contacts disappear...
Doesn`t work for me. tried installing it to Device and Internal Storage performed a soft reset after both but sim contacts are still displayed. I think the only way to get this working is to delete all contacts from the sim then they definitely won`t show up.
**Edit** It seems to have worked after a second soft reset, brilliant

I'm using an O2 XDA Orbit 2 which I believe is basically a rebadged HYC Touch Cruise.
