HTC Weather fix for HTC TYTN II - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Found this, decided to share...
Nadavi

Hi Nadavi,
Thanks for your info But, could you explain in very short sentences, what is the problem with the original HTC Weather plugin from the TyTn II ?

The problem with the original HTC weather program is you can only get weather for major cities or sometimes a city 25 miles from where you live or are.
I live in a small city in the bay area and the only weather I could get was SF or Sacremento, two totally different geographic areas which had nothing to do with where I live.
Something like weatherpanel is great because you can get weather based on zip codes, which are great for travellers or vacationers.
This fix basically gets you more options for localized weather.

Does the original weather plugin have Ottawa, Canada as an option?

HTC Home Weather + Vista Sync

Hi All
Just starting out with my Kaiser and have a complaint which is not directly related to the Kaiser. Why can I not synchronise my Kaiser with the new applications "Windows Calendar", "Windows Contacts" in Windows Vista using the Windows Mobile Device Center? Very annoying. Have had a quick look around and it really seems as though it's not possible. Apparently, I need to be buy Outlook. Very, very annoying. Has anybody heard whether Microsoft are going to fix this or if someone's working on a 3rd party app to do this?
2nd major gripe is the Weather section of HTC Home. Used to use SPB Weather on my old Wizard but really like the HTC Home Weather; big weather icons etc. Bit annoyed that it can only hold weather for one city at a time but my biggest issue is that is only seems capable of using the American site Accuweather. I'm in the UK and the ability to use, say the BBC's weather would be much better. AccuWeather doesn't seem to be very accurate for UK weather. Does anyone know of a way around this?
Thanks and regards,
J

I with "J" on this one I would like to be able to display UK weather
Outlook (v2003 I believe) should be on the CD that came with your phone.

UK Vodafone Kaiser Users...

do you have any trouble with the vodafone Calendar plugin?
Just asking as every so often, I get a notificationerror stating;
'cannot execut vcalpulg.exe'
I'm not over excited about it as I could turn it off and use the WM version. Anyone else have this problem or know if there is an update from Vodafone? Have looked on their site but cannot find anything on it.
Thanks in advance.
I've not seen any Updates for the phone's software on the Vodafone site. A bit poor if you ask me
Have you got Vodafone Live to work yet?
I don't have a link for live on mine but have the STK service in the programmes folder and that's it.
Vodafone Home - do you mean HTC Home???

Neither, the vodafone calendar plugin which is in start> Settings> today> Items
Uncheck the Vodafone Calendar option and check the normal Calendar option.
This gives you the same information and is the same calendar
I have but that's not the point, lol.
As far as I can tell, the only point of that plugin is to put the Vodafone stylised calendar icon (as seen on all their other branded phones) on the today screen instead of the standard WM one. Bizzarre.
Personally, I think the best solution to such wanton waste of resources is just to flash it to the HTC ROM, and ditch all the vodacrap..

HTC Weather as standalone app?

Is it possible to have just the HTC Weather Application running without Manila? I only want this nice looking weather program without the rest of the interface.
Is there really no such thing? Or some other app that just uses that nice HTC Weather Animations?
G-weather? http://pocketnow.com/software-1/g-weather-released-a-standalone-weather-app
Wow, thanks..looks perfect in the video..i will try that.
Have you considered SPB Weather? It's available as shareware and I've seen it as a panel on the Sony-Ericsson website, though that one may be only for the X2...
No SPB Weather is just ugly..not even close to the looks of HTC Weather.

How to get more local weather locations (Australia)

Hi all!
Newbie to this forum, this will be my first post! BUt have been reading ALOT of threads to get myself comfortable with flashing my HTC Touch Diamond 2, many thanks to all who make the 'first time flashers' threads.....very helpful!
My problem is this, does anyone know how I can change the weather (the HTC sense one) so that it displays a more localised location?
I presume it uses a US website for its database, and unfortunately the nearest city to me that it picks up is about 300km away, and the weather differs greatly to my location.
I live in Australia, and the major weather websites (bom.com.au & weatherzone.com.au) have data for the city I live in (so its not like where I live doesnt have any weather data).
I have read on another thread (for the sony xperia) that people were using data from the weatherzone.com.au site, so was wondering if it would be possible to do so with WinMobile on a HTC device.
So does anyone know if I can change the database that the weather info comes from?
thanks

Cookie 'Energy' ROM

Didn't try it yet, but maybe this helps:
Manila 2.1 and 2.5 JVH3 Weather City Editor - Version 3.5 | updated 3/15/2010
solved - sorry all, I think I was either completely braindead, 'my location' was working perfectly.....I just did not recognise the nearest town that it had selected, (fairly new to the area), and the town it chose is across the river and not one that is familar.
Apologises to all......
FIRST POST............FAIL!!!

Uk rom 2.07.401.1 (80303) wwe, sense 2.5.20121225

Hi,
Hope someone can help.
Had TP2 for 11 months. It died and HTC replaced the entire main board.
It came back with WM 6.5 and HTC 'SENSE' 2.5.20121225.
The phone in un-branded, O2 network.
I have been searching on here for couple of hours for a ROM thread etc relative to mine???
The main things i would like help on are.
1. The default weather program. It sucks. The old one on touch flow 3d was accu weather and that could be hacked. I think this one uses google location???
When my phone was first switched on it used googlew location to pick my location up and set the weather to perth, perthshire...correct. Then about an hour later it changed to 'Torbay'...WTF???. I cannot seem to reset the weather location to Perth, UK...when u go to add a city...guess what...my location isnt listed?
Does anyone know anything about the weather on Sense ?
2. On 6.1 i changed the colums to 4 wide and added the 64 program locations(tweaks from here)
Is there a cab/tweak for sense 2.5?
3. On the new 'lock screen' where all the apps are can you change the order they appear...it seems very basic...help???
Any help on this HTC Sense UI would be helpful
