Has anybody been able to disable the wake on slide? I'm used to my Wizard where the only thing that will wake it up is the power button, but on my new Tilt sliding it wakes it too. Is there a registry value I can change or something?
I'm also very interested to find a solution to this problem! I investigated hours searching in the registry… no success :-(! Is this problem hardware or software???? Please help!
This can be software. The can be changed with a tweak. Download the Kaiser Tweak.

Are you sure? I can't find anything about it in the Kaiser Tweak documentation at http://www.jongma.org/KaiserTweak/
so same problems to the german t-mob vario 3. but the solution should be near if geeks get the reg keys out. the german vpa compact 5 doesn´t wake on slide.
sure be interested by any solution beyond duct-taping the keyboard.

Didn't see it in Kaiser Tweak. Any update on this?
Hmz I thought it was on the Kaiser Tweak.
This can be edited in Registery, but what key I don't know.
May be it's built in the device driver? Haven't find a solution at the moment.

Anyone know how to switch the keyboard configuration? This is very much the same problem as many TyTN users experienced when installing an operator ROM: my keyboard has symbols in the wrong place (e.g. ! and @ are reversed - I have an @ over the Q and a ! over the W).
The instructions posted in the Hermes wiki (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Problems) and in various threads (like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=283881) don't work, as the registry key ([HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\Qwerty]) doesn't exist. Maybe this is because it was written to help Cingular 8525 customers install HTC ROMs, which is the opposite thing I want to do. In fact I can't find the string "qwerty" in the registry at all. Creating the OEM\Qwerty key and populating the suggested value doesn't work.
Anyway if someone knows how to get the HTC symbol mapping back please let me know. Alternatively if anyone has the release version of the HTC Kaiser ROM, that would probably do the trick for me too.

I assume you've already tried this ROM?
Here is the cab fix for the 8525 keyboard being messed up. I'm attaching it below.. but I don't know if it just uses the same registry fix.
If the above Image isn't the latest release for the kaiser I wouldn't worry too much as people are starting to get the HTC RTM kaiser right now and I'm sure the official rom will be posted soon.
I've tried 'em all. Because they're AT&T ROMs they all have the AT&T Mappping. Why do carriers have to change the mappings of their keyboards at all?
thanks anyway.
I'm sure you've already found this solution...but was trying to find it myself and had to deduce it from reading how the forum people were able to do the reverse (assign AT&T layout to non-AT&T ROM).
Try this:
delete the registry key HKLM/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/KEYBD/CWSLayout
Note that this works for correcting the keyboard layout problem when flashing a Rogers ROM on the HTC-branded kaiser

I think you ment THIS post
Still Nada here for this guy.
Tried,
Keyboard Fix WMXL 8525.cab
WM VI 8525 Keyboard Patch.CAB
Ive looked in my registry for the CWSLayout
Tried the reg edit for the qwerty key and the suggested edits were the values I already have.
Nada...
Ive got a Rogers Tytn that Ive upgraded using a ATT 8525rom
everything works great, other than the 8 symbol keys.
Any more suggestions?

To increase more sensivity go to HKLM-DRIVERS-TOUCHPANEL-PRESSURE THRESHOLD and modify to 200 or more.
guys, only yesterday i found out what touchflo is!
so can anyone tell me if the t mob uk unit has touchflo?
and does this include the htc cube thing?

Yes, and No. Respectively
I'm not finding Touchflo particularly usefy on such a small screen, in fact it gest in the way of normal screen use, like multiple item selection in nPop, is it possible to turn it off ?
thx for letting me know. based on what the previous poster said my huge hulk hands would prolly struggle with that anyway.
shame about Cube not being present (did I read it's hidden in the registry somewhere?) and I guess there are cooked roms thor maybe a cab that feature it .
just how good is it - (the cube that is)?
what 's the general consensus of the cube? maybe I should start a separate thread - let me know if I need to...
cheers,
lr
Honestly, the cube is more style and splash than substance. I'm fine without the cube. I do like the rest of the Touch interface though.

I just flashed my Tytn II with a new rom and some of my keys are now wrong i.e. press fn Q and get ! instead of @. I've searched and cannot find a fix for this. I tried putting on Alex's keyboard fix and it didn't work. Does anyone know where I can find the file that has to be edited to the right characters or a cab that will do it for me. Sorry if this has been asked before but I've been searching for 2 hours and can't find anything. Thanks
Use Schap's Advanced Configuration Tool to change Keyboard Layout parameter.
Thanks, but I tried that too and it doesn't work. Is there not a txt file or something which I can edit?
I created a virtual keymapping for the difference between the HTC Herald & T-mobile Wing. Maybe this will work for you because it sounds just like the problem we had over in the Herald forum....
So try this :
KEYBOARD FIX for WING / HERALD & ROM hardware keyboard (keybddr.dll) mismatch
Use the Herald keyboard Fix ... because i think the herald & kaiser have the same keyboard layout.

Thanks for the response... But it didn't work either. I appreciate the help though. Any other manual ways to do this?

OK, I got it working thanks to a great member who had already dealt with this so I copied and pasted from the other thread and here's the answer:
4) The Rogers ROM changes the hardware keyboard layout. The layout is the same as used by the AT&T Tilt and so some of the keys behave differently (for example pressing @ brings up a ! and visa-versa). To fix this problem I needed to delete the registry key HKLM>HARDWARE>DEVICEMAP>KEYBD>CWSLayout

Hi,
I've recently bought an HTC TyTN II and am having problems with the keyboard. The "alt" keys are not how they are mapped on the keyboard, and I can't get a comma.
I've tried the above methods apart from the Rogers ROM, the link supplied isn't active any longer and googling the rom there are loads to choose from.
Can anybody help me?
Cheers,
Craig

try to install Tilt keyboard fix
in the registry of my Tilt running Dutty's 6.1. Does that have anything to do with being able to overclock this phone because I heard that no one knows how and this seems like way too easy a path to being able to
I found it on my original HTC ROM too!!
...but i also don't know what it is for!!
Can you tell me where in the registry did you exactly find it?
Thanks

In my is here:
HLM\Software\HTC\3GVTEngine ->"EnableOverclock = 0"
There are a lot of other "Enable/Disable..." keys too!!
Maybe some Master Prof can get our few elucidation about those keys!!
I miss this function in the Fuze Tweaks as well as Schaps Adv. Cfg. Is there a hack to prevent the Fuze from waking up?

I would love to see an answer to this.
The tweak for fast phone sleep on call is gone too. I am guessing because of the proximity sensor?
Id also like to have the ability for the screen not to activate on call. Mine keeps answering when i remove it from the case.
found it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=443895
Add this key to yr registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\KEYBD]
"SlideWakeup"=dword:0
this should get into diamond tweak and advance config as it was on previous versions as kaiser tweak and advance config 2...

YOU ROCK... WORKS!!!!!!!!!

It worked on my Tilt2, had to add/make the "SlideWakeup" line/command.
