Hi all, I got the ATT Tilt, and unlocked it, am overseas right now, i donwloaded opera mini over a wifi connection when i was home, now i am able to access the internet using opera mini (which is how i am posting now), but PIE remains stuck on "loading". Because of this, I am unable to download anything. What can I do to fix this.
Edit: Got it working, I had to hard reset and let the AT&T customizations install since the proxy option in the programs menu isn't there without the customoizations, then in Programs > Tools > Proxy Manager (I think), there is an option to remove Proxy, I tried it and it worked, then I went hunting in the windows folder and found a file called removeHiddenProxy4cws....cab, copied it to the storage card and then hard reset again and canceled the customizations, tried IE again, didn't work. I then executed the aforementioned cab file and tried PIE again, and it worked. Also of note is that the cab file is there even if the customizations aren't installed, so if your PIE is not working (note, it is not working, some people have lag problems which is a different issue), all you gotta do is execute the file and the proxy setting for PIE will be disabled.

I'm not sure if I had the same problem, but when I first got my Kaiser, I tweaked it like hell... and one of the tweaks was to set PIE cache to Stroage Card, and since I did it, PIE stoped working... in fact the whole device hangs and I had to soft reset...
anyway.. I changed the cache to the default, and everything works OK now...

I had a similar issue when I first got my tilt as well. Not sure if this helps, but I had to run the little disable hidden proxy program which should be in programs/tools/proxy or something like that

I noticed that on large websites (ebay, forums, etc) that PIE would stop about half way and freeze up causing me to have to soft reset. I started using the new DLL that I just pointed you to and PIE is fine now.

ok peeps i upgraded my BA with this rom.

everything went without a hitch except i cant use internet explorer it opens but as soon as i try to navigate to a page even just google it shuts down.
any suggestions as to what is wrong? i tryed the search funtion and couldnt find what i was looking for
Have you correctly configured teh gprs or wifi settings?
have you tried opera browser?
I use both on my BA, also with the same rom as yours.
What i can see, is that you have one older radio, so, try to upgrade the radio.
Tried making Hard Reset?

I occasionally get this. Usually it happens when the network stack is messed up and can't get out anywhere, even though I'm connected to the house wireless.
Soft reset takes care of it. Occasionally, it takes a few of them, but it does clear the issue.
yeah updated radio to 1.15, tryed the hard rest.
think ill do a fresh instal with the Um.......? vanilla one unless someone has another one to try. recomend?

if you read through the thread of that rom, you will notice, that for some people (like me too), these problem occured...thats why baniaczek added an wifi driver update, and an other working in logout roms...one of them should work...and then your pocket ie won't be spoiled...

I'm not sure what happened, but I was using PIE to view a website. I followed a link from another site and the new window opened about 50% and never loaded. After about 10 minutes of just sitting there I did a soft reset. Now when I go to use PIE it loads about 5% of a page and hangs / freezes and causes me to have to soft reset.
I deleted all cookies, temp files and history but no go. I looked in the \startup\ dir and there isn't anything new in there. There aren't any programs running either.
Everything else on the phone is working fine as far as I know.
Any ideas on how to get my PIE back?

Same here but I am using NetFront v3.3 and Opera Mini. Let me know if resolved this problem.
I think I might have fix it. I fired it up and it appears to be working better now.
My OPERA 8.65 worked fine, and so did everything else.
What I had done was install Schap's Advancedconfig. After DESTALLING it (because there wasn't anything in there that you cant tweak by hand) it didn't reset the original values!
Anyway, the Glyph cache was changed and so was the file system cache and
file system filter cache. I guess it was TOO BIG and was greezing it. I changed the limi for GLYPHCACHE down to 16384 and did a soft reset and it seems to be back to normal.
Let me know if you get yours fixed.
usually pie freezes if u set the cookies to be stored on the storage card instead of device. It is also known that pie freezes when you use flash player 7 for ppc.
I've had cookies saved to storage since day 1 and never had any problems. I have read other's reporting the same thing as you suggested though. But for me, I have never experienced this problem.
if you have att tilt...what i did was install the removehiddenproxy.cab and it made the PIE freeze go away...you can find it in dutty's collection of cabs in the regular kaiser forums....what ROM are you using because some ROMs use the PIE scroll fix cab within the ROM and it has been known to make PIE freeze on most ATT Tilt devices...
just move all your temp internet files/cache/etc back to the device storage and it will work.
That solved my hanging issues.... I had to hard reset earlier on when I din know what to do....

When Cookies, Temp Internet Files and History were moved to storage card - I locked up. move them back and it works perfectly.
I put JUST the Temporary Internet Files on the storage card and left history and cookies on the device - that seems to work also. Guess I will run with that.

How do you move them back?
When I try accesing a webpage on my tilt, it looks like its loading, then it shows 0kb at the bottom, and just displays a blank page. The wierd thing is that it works in any other program (skyfire, operamini, seven(email)), and it works when I am connected to wifi, I've tried flashing two different roms, including the original AT&T. I have 2-3 bars on 3g coverege, but it does it everywhere.
It started like a month ago, and a soft reset would ussually fix the problem..(now it doesnt)
I would really appreciate any feedback...

It was the proxy... I when I flashed back to the original rom, and removed the proxy in "proxy manager" it started working, so I just copied the cab file to use on dutty's... and its working great.

I am dealing with the same problem. My GF and I both have Tilts. Hers runs 6.0 ATT newest ROM and I run Dutty 6.1 with the new PIE.
Anyway, I have found that if you go into your GPRS settings and edit your proxy settings (you don't actually need to change anything) and hit next till you're done. It will then say something about needing to reconnect or something when you're done.
After that, PIE will work without a reboot or anything. It seems to happen every few days for her and less for me. Definitely has something to do with AT&T's proxy and it's maddening. AT&T has not been helpful either...
at least it's a work around.
Try completely removing the proxy, also, I think me calling ATT and having them remove the internet package, and put it back on had something to do with it...
Let me preface by saying that I know almost no one uses PIE anymore. I typically don't either, but until a stable Opera 9.5 is out, I'm using Opera Mini, PIE, and Skyfire. PIE unfortunately, is the only one of those three that I can access my bank account on right now.
PIE freezes the phone every single time I use it now. I don't know why. I have plenty of free memory left (both ROM and RAM) and nothing running in the background when I try to open it. I have KaiserTweak as well as MemMaid... should I tweak the IE settings in either of those apps? I don't know what the deal is, and I hate that I have to rely on PIE, but I do for now
did you use advanced config and change the temp internet files storage location to the SD card?
Yes. That was one of the first things I did when I got the phone. Are you saying this is good for performance or bad?

Well it's more of a suggested problem, it's a know issue with doing that.

I had the same exact problem at once and i had to disable the proxy each time and sometimes it still wouldn't work. I hated using the internet. I then decided to do a hard reset and it fixed things (or i might have flashed to another ROM, can't exactly remember).
I migrated from a Wizard to a Kaiser and I ported quite a few things from old Kitchen - one of these was the registry entries to put IE temporary stuff on the Storage Card. This was my first mistake and I was flamed for asking why (search, search, search apparently...).
For some reason IE on the Kaiser dies a death when the cache etc is set to use the Storage Card. I changed the .RGU files in my kitchen and flashed a new ROM and I have not had a problem since.

phone hell in crazy town.....
Woke up this am and simply tried to sync my diamond2 (running dutty HG) with my PC, its always worked before but today it decided it didnt want to play ball.
it kept saying it couldnt sync this device, and to run AS troubleshooter, which unsurprisingly did nothing, however it still allowed you to "explore" ie browse the folders etc.
after running through all the obvious things (restarting devices in various orders, re attaching all usb connections) and having had AS issues at various times with previous versions of AS and WM, i uninstalled and reinstalled activesync on the laptop. this failed and still gave the same error but still allowed browsing.
during all of this i also noticed that some pages and the settings tab in the opera browser were causing the browser to shut down. it too was working fine last night, i rebooted the phone several times, and suddenly opera would give a couldnt find the opera armvi operating file........... hmmmmmmm its part of the os so couldnt just reload the cab and i still had the activesync issue to solve.
so i'd been meaning to rebuild the phone for while and do clean installs of some of the cabs etc and decided that this would probably also solve the activesync issue, so i reloaded the ROM via the bootloader, and proceded to go about the usual set up and install procedure again.
everything went great until i tried load the first cab from the sd card........ "unsuccessfull" , next one was the same, tried loading another cab from the PC, unsuccessfull, tried to connect to active sync still the same error, unable to sync but able to explore..........
at least opera works :/
any ideas on why the CAB's won't install now, its almost like the phones "read only"....
and any ideas on whats up with activesync????? or how to reset the relationships???? without it i cant even load on the contacts after the reset
--- ok after a reflashing for 3rd time the CAB files now installs ok, but the active sync issue still reminas
Are you hard resetting after flashing.
If so, you may want to consider running a Task 29 or flashing back to your stock ROM first.
Check your USB to PC settings and play around with "enable faster data", if its checked, uncheck and visa versa.
I just want to add one thing..sometimes when a microSD card starts going bad, strange things really happen to the device. If you have a extra microSD card handy, try it, just to check.
